The Lost One's #3

Dangerous Discoveries

Rate this book
The portal went awry and now Sage and her men find themselves split up from Erin and her guys. Fortunately help comes from an unexpected source and as things begin to heat up between Sage and her guys, the quest to find her missing parents takes and unexpected and deadly turn. They get far more than they bargained for. There’s pain, violence, goddess intervention and a whole lot of misbehaving gifts which makes getting to know her guys an interesting foray into self control, or lack thereof. Not everything is as it seems and there are dark forces at play.

A/N - Although the main storyline for this series is finished I am writing them like a TV show so there will be a couple of things left open for the next instalment.

This is a slow/ medium burn paranormal Reverse Harem.

Warnings: Please be advised that this book contains dark themes, including abuse, memories of abuse from when she was a child, violence and cursing. Additionally, sexual themes suitable for mature audiences 18+.

All sex is consensual.

I'm apologizing for this entirely pissed of rant in advance, because what in the actual fuckity fuck was that?

What in the hell? I'm...extremely disappointed. Sure, I know to come into Parmenter's books expecting a shit ton of punctuation and grammar mistakes, but holy donkey balls, this went way past technical writing issues.

Which trust me, I'll get to.

Why, do you ask, do I do this to myself? Because Parmenter has a way of grabbing my attention with well-written premises and addictively poorly-written plot lines that I just need to know the answer to. I've said this in every review I've ever done on Parmenter's books - I promise to not fall into her traps and still get her books. Every. Damn. Time.

But anyway, back to what's *slightly* more important.

Firstly, what the actual fuck was I actually supposed to be reading? The plot line: Sage and the guys are thrown into a portal that's redirected away from the Academy. We don't know why and won't ever know why. On the way, they meet Kysen, one of Cole's bonded. They spend more than half of the damn book trying to reach the Academy when they suddenly decide to take a detour to the camp where the bonded are being held in the last fifty pages. There are some - two, I think - chapters from Erin's POV where she describes SOME of the life in the Academy and essentially just spends her entire time worrying about Sage and the guys. Speaking about Sage and her guys, most of the book is just them kissing and their powers going out of control and showing the readers why they're all such powerful badasses.

I have so many issues with this book, most of them revolving around "WHAT IN THE FUCK IS GOING ON?" Where are the answers? The ending: unfinished and unsatisfactory. Why does Sage have two familiars when none of the other centers do? What makes Sage special? What's with the warrior tattoos? Was that just an insta-friendship avenue for Parmenter to take advantage of so Sage doesn't seem like a one-dimensionally heartless and powerful supernatural? Why is an Egyptian pantheon goddess involved in Centers and their Bonded? What happened with the conversation with Sage and her parents? Why did she seem so angry in their last written interaction? What even are all of Sage's abilities? WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE CREEP?!?!?!? Who is he? What's his real relationship with Nyx?

And what in the fucking hell is up with the imprinted tattoos?

I'm pretty sure that I should have gotten SOME of the answers to these questions even though I practically skim all of Parmenter's novels. If you manage to find some semblance of an answer, please leave me a comment, because I'm about to rip my fucking hair out.

Zero answers. Nothing. Nada. All we got were twenty-six chapters of fucking filler bullshit and a poorly-written, anticlimatic, shitty ending that made next to no-fucking sense and was just about Sage and her guys mutilating un-trained fucker guards lining the prison the other Centers were being held in. If it was this fucking easy to get in and out, why in the goddamn-scaly-demon-hell didn't anybody do jack shit?

Can you tell how pissed I am? I don't think I've ever used this many swear words in a review. Usually, I manage to add a few funny gifs to lighten the review and add light-hearted humor, even if it's harsh. I can't even bring myself to do that here.

It's not even because of the insta-love - a fact Sage even recognizes herself on multiple occasions because she realizes she BARELY KNOWS ANY OF THESE MEN - or that she was depicted as a meek, naive character who suddenly changed into this cage-fighting badass who was totally okay with murder. Okay, fine, we can brush that aside. It's the carelessness shown by publishing this piece of work. It's just inattentive, impetuous, and negligent writing. It's the fact that people will read this and might model their work after Parmenter's. Please, I'm begging you, don't. Yes, Parmenter's writing and plot points have extraordinary potential. I've said this myself on multiple occasions. They're somewhat original and unique in their own manner. However, the execution in almost every category is below average to just plain bad.

Relationship development: insta-love and insta-friendship. Character development: next to none, if at all. Sub plots and plot development: none of the answers are given so you already know my response here. Grammar and punctuation: shitty, but we already know this. All of the things that makes great writing great writing is lacking here. Instead of show-not-tell, all we get is tell-not-show. There is a multitude of opportunities where Parmenter could world-build, but she chooses not to and moves the fuck on with the story. I caught myself on multiple occasions pointing out areas where Parmenter could add or remove points that would greatly impact the way she writes and develops her world WHILE SKIMMING. I couldn't even muster up the ability to properly read her work.

I understand that hiring publishers and editors is hard and expensive. Fine. Get some free Alpha and Beta readers then. Hell, send me a free ARC and I will happily review and edit your draft for as long as goddamn needed. Just...please, stop putting out sloppy, slapdash pieces of work. As a reader, I really hate when I'm promised a interesting and thought-provoking preface only to open the book and find problem after problem after problem.

Take back the book, Parmenter. Hell, the entire series. Review it. Edit it. Dig deep into the heart and soul of your writing and redo all of it. It's okay. You have really great potential, but again, your execution is just really off the mark. I wish you the best in your future career. I have nothing against you as an author, but from the average reader's perspective, the series started off at a pretty terrible place and got progressively worse as time went on, so much so that I gave a pity star on the second book of this series.

And to anyone who will message or comment hateful shit on the bottom of my posts like always, telling me to redo my review, I will not. I refuse to change my opinion of a piece of work just because I don't like a piece that you might really love. It sucks that the book world is like this, but I honestly don't give a flying fuck. My review is final and I will only change it to correct my mistakes or any missteps I have made in my assumptions or questions, like what I have listed above. If you've made it this far, thank you for sticking by to read my opinion and I hope that you are happy and healthy. Feel free to send me a message here on Goodreads if you wish to start a conversation or have a conflicting opinion. I love hearing about different beliefs and observations than mine - I think personally, it builds character and opens eyes to a whole new world we might never have thought to look for.

**EDIT**

I have just scoured the author's GR page and found the A/N on another version of the book? Anyway, she talks about how she plans on making this like a TV series and leaving a few things open for the next installment. I understand, I totally do, but I think there are just way too many loose ends. Parmenter writes that the main storyline for this series is finished.

I just facepalmed in real life.

Honey. We still don't know why the main villain was the villain. We don't even know his fucking name, holy shit.

As a reader, when I'm first told that this is the final book in the series, and all I see is filler in the novel and a bunch of unanswered questions when I'm faced with "The End" is extraordinarily irritating. As described before, rip-the-hair-out-of-my-head type of irritating.

The author's choice with the series still doesn't take away from the fact that when you look at Parmenter's writing technically, it has potential, but is all tell-not-show and has next to no development in anything but the plot, which develops in the last fifty or so pages. The unanswered questions, yes, is pissing me off, but this is simply because I wasn't told beforehand that there would be more to this series. What is making me more fucking irate is Parmenter's writing itself, as I listed above. Also, why is the A/N and introduction to the novel not on the version of the book attached to the series itself? It's a little weird.

I'm still pissed off.

Dear Nikita….
For the love of Nyx please take the time to plot out the books so there’s a beginning middle and end and the plot makes sense!
There’s no need for repeating make out sessions with a interchangeable, faceless male love interest. All the boys melded into generic characters due to the lack of character development. Let’s face it there were enough plot points to resolve without the repetitive filler scenes. Fuck that ending too.

72% through right now and its a 2.5 for me. I am really struggling with this one because I enjoyed the premise of the first two books but this one is going off the rails for me. This felt like it could have been a novella and condensed wayyy down to be like a side quest. The chapters from Erin's POV seem a little unnecessary. There is a ton of repetition (kiss, lose control of magic, sexy banter, "you guys are crazy" "you guys are trouble", rinse, repeat). I am one of those people that when I'm into something I don't want to put it down. I'll stay up until 5 am to finish a book with work the next day but this one I was like "okay, I'm tired, time to sleep." I am reading for the interesting plot points but they are few and far between in this one.

Finished. Still a 2.5. I don't know what I wanted out of this book but this wasn't it. Every fight was soo fast and chalked it up to "we are so powerful look at our power." But then they can't keep their wings from lifting them off the ground. On top of that, so much of it was unbelievable. These bad guys have been taking hundreds of people and bringing them back to their hideout totaling around 300 people and doing all this work only to not have a lot of guards and no magical wards? The rescue was so anticlimatic. Pages of following a trail, then backtracking, and then you get to the whole reason for being there and all the worry they had was for nothing because no one even put up a fight. The other issue I have with this book is author assumes the reader is stupid because everything is spelled out that there is no room for any thought.

When describing the world "Everything is in darker shades as well; the leaves are dark shades of green, what flowers I can see are darker shades as well, deep maroon and dark pink...Even the sky here is a darker shade of blue".. and then in the same paragraph "it's closer to the colour you'd see at dusk just before night fully forms. It's actually one of my favourite times of da." You say everything is darker and then proceed to list a is darker, b is darker, c is darker. Then, you throw in a random tidbit that no one cared or asked for and didn't create any character development.

Don't be surprised on what comes next. Good or bad

I really enjoyed this except for 2 parts. Now don't not read this cause of this because regardless of what I say the story is great. 1st I didn't like how this author makes the parent/parents seem bad at some point. She did it in another series HOME. Makes me think their are parent issues for real lol no im not saying there is just saying this is becoming a trend on making the parents bad people and I don't think they were nor should of been portrayed as. 2nd the guys they went to the military did training for being enforcers and was undercover and that is how they met the soulmate bond. They were on their own for along time now they are in an acadamy to learn again. I'm confused. But they talk and act like they are 15 playing cops and robbers instead of enforcers from the military, enforcers for the supernaturals and when you read you'll understand. The dialect is weird BUUUUUT that is nothing really. The story is amazing and I love all the characters. Honestly Erin her best friend is awesome. I've loved this author and her series HOME for along time and waiting on next book in the long series and read this one while waiting and now I've come to a stop on book 3 cause book 4 isn't out yet and I can't wait for it to see the conclusion. If the discription is to go buy boy are we in for a treat. And I'm here for it. Did I tell you I'm not into paranormal books really. Nope I'm not but I happen to like these ones where they all want each other and there is no bullying inside the Harem. This is my 5th series I've read like this and I love them. Just not the bullying ones lol. Anyways sit down relax and enjoy these series. They are awesome. And NIKITA PLEASE STOP MAKING PARENTS THE BAD GUYS. THESE PARENTS DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG REALLY. ATLEAST NOTHING THAT COULDNT OF BEEN FIXED. GIRLS NEED THEIR PARENTS. Oh and lots more heat/ smutt. Said slow to med but it was definelty slow. Very very incredibly slow...Lol. Keep it up love you one of my fav authors.

3.5 stars...

I have to say I'm disappointed I love, love Parmenter's Home series and the first two books of this series. They're something different, a different take and fairly interesting. I had been waiting and waiting for this release but it just fell flat...

Now I understand the author had a bunch of personal shit going on in her life and so it was a struggle to release this book however, I would have happily waited another 2 to 3 months for the final book to hit the marks the first two did and now I'm scared for book 3 in the Home series.

I can normally overlook minor grammar and punctuation errors etc. However, when they're on almost every page, words missing, wrong words put in place of others, sentences completely not making sense even after 3 attempts it's quite frustrating.

I felt a lot of the "speech" throughout the book was unrealistic and forced not many people say "thus" and "it is" (instead of its) or other formal speech. A lot of it would have been better as inner thoughts but that would have left the dialogue missing so it seemed like filler content.

In terms of actual content. Not much happened in this book at all. They passed through a portal travelled for a few days - had one fight - a few make out sessions and then the final "big lead up scene" there was barely a confrontation at all it was in and out in three point two seconds. For a mission that left dozens of highly trained personnel dead a bunch of complete novices got in and out with literally no hitch...

I know that the author is planning this as a similar structure to a TV series but even then if I considered this "Season 1 finale" I'd be disappointed. I just ordered the paperbacks of the first two books of Home and now I'm grateful I didn't add these to my cart because this book had I received it in paperback as is I'd of been pissed which makes me nervous for Twisted Compications...

ehh i don´t know what to say, i just finished this book and i am speechless. This was supposed to be the last book??? say whaaat, i got no answer to any of all my questions, this felt like an filler book with the characters not really developing and the story not going anywhere. I had wanted to know more about these guys back storys, to why Sage is so special? Why she has two familiars and her newly powers. Her eyes gone black in a fight, why? Was that the new darkness that´s appearing in Sage? And who was that creepy dude with Nyx? What was the reason for Nyx sending Sage all of these memories and stuff? what is the hidden agenda
All new characters and all new powers and all new relationships and the journey, i need more explanation, thanks

I thought we at least would get an reunion aka conversation between her long lost parents in the end. Why was Sage pissed at them? Just what is happening??? And everything with Nyx, i feel like we just got more questions with this book.

I wanted to know these characters from the deep and not just the outside.
Personally i think it would have been better to focus more on the plot and the story, to cut some PoV from the other non mc people off. I feel that it´s enough to have the PoV of Sage and her guys and maybe one or two from Erin not more. I dunno

AANd that really rushed sex scen at the end, bruh we ended like that.
It felt rushed and even more so in the end, i really liked the plot and the previous book was not bad, those made me want to continue reading this series but the third one made me really disappointed :((

Great 3rd!

Spoiler alert!

I really enjoyed this book. The loyalty they all have, feels natural. I would have done the same thing, followed my family through an awry portal to who knows where. No one goes alone. They meet up with Sen, who was sent by the goddess. Travelling through towns trying to avoid being challenged. They get to be in their demon forms, and she got to let go of her human glamour. Her hair changes colors along with her eyes I think. She’s of coursed challenged first as the guys in the demon world think females are weaker. She barely played with him. The crowd of on lookers gave her looks of respect and fear. Her and the guys hustle out of there, getting their tack and horses from the barn. The owner and his sons, are kind so She decides to trust them with a little information asking for their help when they save the Centres and Bonded. It was good she asked because they did the unexpected and saved what was left of Bonded and Centres. Along the way, they are able to reunite Sen with his Bonded brothers. Also meeting back up with her bestie and her bonded. Cole getting his bonded marks and they all receive a warrior mark. In thanks for what they did, they bless her and her guys a stone that masks their powers so they can Bond the old fashion way, doing the horizontal tango and dang did she get off with a Bang, lol. To short of chalet if you ask me! Can’t wait to read the next few!

It was good but could have been better

I was really looking forward to this book and it WAS good. It just really had the chance to be great and it wasn't taken. The whole "can't have sex because of lack of control" is a little over done. They are learning to use their powers instinctively for other things so it would make sense to test them there too. There are way too many things that are never explained for this to be a complete series. I wasn't unsatisfied with the ending like other reviews seem to be but I was pretty frustrated with the lack of closure on a variety of things that are never resolved like:
- What powers do they all actually have
- What else was in the packet from Nyx and why did they have to save the papers
- Why couldn't Kysen and Cole know about each other in advance
- Who actually is the Creep
- Why were Sages parents acting shady
- If Erin and her men were at the academy for over a week, why couldnt they control their powers enough for sex?
- What is everyone's actual back story
- What is the darkness developing in Sage
- When do they get to meet Nyx and restore her castle
I also think it could have used an extra time or two through an editor. One who is actually reading it, not just skimming for grammatical errors because the issues are wrong and extra words or times when it's unclear who's speaking.

So, so pleased with this book

Let me start by saying I absolutely love this series, as well as Nikitas other “Home” series. I have reread her books many times and they’re easily my favorite comfort/go-to reads. This book did not disappoint this series. It brought amazing plot development and excitement that just took this series to the next level. I had no clue what the Demon Realm had in store for our characters and their journey, but it 100% exceeded my expectations and left me wanting MORE MORE MORE! Not only did it “solve” a previous plot problem by saving those who needed saving with bad-ass action and adventure, but it left the ending open to a whole new journey that our favorite characters can embark on, while also giving a satisfying ending. I know the author mentioned working on the next few books in her Home series (which I’m dying for btw) before coming back to continue this series, but I also can’t wait for when the story of Sage, her bonded, her friends, and their destiny returns! This was such an awesome series and I can’t wait to see where these characters can take us.

Still Have Questions

I'm not entirely sure what happened with the ending of the series. It almost feels like the final book was hurried to completion and I was left with plot pockets. It's entirely possible that the author did not simply just get tired of the characters and their story but intentionally aimed for a happy for now ending.

-Did she really stay angry with her parents for telling people she was adopted in an effort to keep her safe?
-Did she give into her darkness?
-Did The Order meet their end?
-Who was the hooded smokey intruder at the earth realm school?
-Did they learn to control their powers at their new academy?
-What were those creepy hints that Monty gave?

Aside from these questions about the main storyline I was left with, there were numerous editing issues in all 3 books. Bloops like they're, there, their, your, you're, lower case letters where they should be capitalized and words missing from sentences.

Overall, I did enjoy the POV changes and the character personalities in all 3 books. I would still recommend the series because I thought the story was cool but be warned that it comes with an ending that may not feel satisfying.

The plot is okay, but the number of basic spelling errors is distracting

The plot of the story is OK. I read it all the way through. When it comes to conflict and tension, the author could do more to draw out the suspense. The story does feel a bit like this happened and then this happens next. There are many unresolved plot lines. I hope those are addressed in a future book. When the trilogy finally does wrap up, the ending lacks a significant climax and the end is pretty underwhelming. Now, the biggest con of this series is the number of errors in the writing. I’ve read my fair share of fanfiction, but this blurs the line between online fanfiction and professional writing. If you are going to publish on Amazon, then you need to get someone to proofread your work, because the number of times the author messed up possessives and contractions was alarming. There are even several capitalization errors and sentences that make no sense. This author has significant potential, in creativity and ideas especially, but I would recommend they join a writers’ group to better develop their skills.

That was sooo anticlimatic i have sooo many issues with this book.
1. We already knew Rebecca was taken by the order i dont understand why half way through they have a cringe conversation about how they didnt realise they did realise when the director mentioned it before she died and when the logo of the order was left in their bedroom.
2. Why is sage moving like her parents werent kidnapped. They genuinely couldnt tell you anything we dont even know exactly when they were kidnapped.
3. Its like they want it to be a surprise that Sage is the daughter of nyx and therefore the next queen. Youve already told us we already know so why it keeps getting pushed to be unpacked for later i dont know.
4. That rescue mission was not a final book rescue mission it was so basic sage and erin couldnt even do their stupid competition there was no
suspense no struggles everything was easy.
Overall this series was juvenile, it had so much potential but it just failed to deliver.

WTF, this is not how you end a series! I held on through the subpar writing and multitude of inconsistencies due to the promise of the ideas here, but this is bullshit. There are so many unanswered questions and barely anything even happened in this book besides making out between random obstacles and introducing even more characters for us to keep track of.

I read in other people's reviews that the author purposely chose to end it open-ended like this like a season of a TV show that she could come back to, but that's honestly such bullshit. Even if that were true, a good season of a TV show gives enough answers and closure so that if a next season isn't greenlit, the audience isn't left hanging. I don't think it is true though, I think the author just ran out of steam on her ideas and ended the series here, so she didn't have to do the work to resolve anything.

Anyway, if you're the type of person who needs at least a degree of answers and closure at the end of a series, don't read it. It will drive you up the wall with frustration at having wasted your time.

needs an editor badly

The story was fine. I felt like I was reading about a completely different group than how the original started. These men are adults who were in the military, but she writes about them as if they were kids. I understand they are new to being supernaturals, but there were inconsistencies in the way she presented this group’s strength and age.

There was a lot of repetition in the statements made by characters, a lot of build up for the cursed city that didn’t come to fruition. Much of the story was just ok.

The worst part of this book is that there is no editing. None whatsoever. Missing words, poor spelling, bad grammar, lack of most punctuation, and not capitalizing sentence starters and using lower case i frequently. I had to reread sentences to make sense of what she was saying. It was very difficult to get through and contributed to my waning interest in the story. Usually I don’t complain about this because I can overlook errors and still enjoy what I am reading. This was very rough. Please have someone edit this.

First, I'm confused as on Goodreads this shows as the last book, but Kindle is showing a fourth book that's supposed to be the ending?? Also saw on reviews from the fourth book that it ends on a cliffhanger, but there is no fifth book showing on there either.

Ok beyond that, this definitely felt like mostly filler. I was waiting for the reason they got split up to make itself known, but nothing really stood out as to why beyond they found where the other centres and bonded were being held. I feel like this story has so much potential it just needed to be planned out better. It also needs a good edit.

Beyond all that it feels like the Sage from this book was a completely different person than the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand personal growth and she was most likely this fierce all along, but it just doesn't feel like enough happened to go from the abused girl to this bad ass warrior. Also, we really know next to nothing about the guys and their characters. I would have loved to see their viewpoint more as well.

Ok. I read all 3 books- FORCED myself to get through them because I liked the IDEA. The storyline was good but oof. I need our lively author to at least take a community Ed writing course.
1. The repetition is almost enough to make me put it down- you don’t need to have the guys say their little pet name for her EVERY time they talk to our lead here. Nor do we need to talk about how attractive they are every time we look at a character.
2. The spelling and grammar… queen I know editors cost money but come on at least find a college English major to read over it. Hell I’ll even do it for you girl. Run on sentences, missing capitols after a period, random commas in wrong spots, spelling issues. I mean come on queen.
I think this COULD have been a great series, she just needs to put more work into her craft.
Will I read book 4? Yes, only because I want to know the ending but man it’s not at the top of my list I’ll tell you that.

Good series, but...(possible spoilers)

Really enjoyed this series and if it wasn't for a few key things I would of given it a 5. First, grammar, spelling and punctuation - need to be improved tremendously. I actually found it distracting and took away from the storyline. Second, this just may be a me thing but if the characters are American and live in the States you need to be using American colloquialisms not British. If they're British living in the States, fine, I can deal with it. Third - too many unanswered questions! Did she talk to her parents afterwards? How about a lot of questions that we were constantly told, "I'll tell you later?" Ummm? Little Queen? What happened with the Order and who is their actual leader? Another novel would clean this up tremendously.

Really good if you can get past the typos

This series is really great so far, but this author seriously needs an editor and a proofreader. The typos, the grammatical errors, and just the editing issues are so bad that they detract from the story line. The entire series really needs to be re-edited and cleaned up by a professional before being resubmitted again to the public. Sometimes the wrong character name is used which is very confusing. Then you have the common your and you're issues, among with their there and they're. This storyline is amazing and I can't wait for part two and the next book, but I cringe at how bad it's going to be weeding through the mistakes unless the author gets a team on board. It's worth the read at the end of the day - which is why I gave it 4 stars, but that was rounded. It was more like 3.5 stars.

Good series

The mfc is a real badass who was taught to fight with swords by an assassin, but puts up with an abusive mother. She meets her soulbonds in her senior year of high school, moves in with them, and goes off to an academy for supernaturals. There are twists and turns throughout the series as they have to fight other supernatural beings.

The mmcs all have different strengths, but they are kind of overshadowed by the mfc. It is a slowburn with five different mates.

This could have been a great series if the author had taken the time to at least had the books copyedited and proofed. There were a lot of grammatical errors and any of the sentences she be written with better structure and cohesion. I suggest the author go back and do a rewrite to take care of the sentence structures and proofing.

Slightly disappointed

I was disappointed in this book and to be honest, probably the whole trilogy. I wanted to like it and really tried. But it was so slow and the plot really didnt feel like it progressed until almost after 60% finished. They really had no true hardships or trials to overcome. They used their powers way too easily for only having them for a week. I also wasnt a big fan of the anticlimactic romantic scene. I think there should have been more effort world building and details to make it flow better than just moving a nonexistent plot. From what i understand its to be turned into a mini series after this 3rd book, but i dont think it'll be worth it of continuing with a slow and boring story.

What's next? And please proofread

I've had book 3 on my to read list for a while. While I have found the storyline interesting, there are pretty serious editing problems with missing words, wrong words and misspelled words. It really could use some proofreading. I probably would have rated 4 stars without the typos.
So ummm, this book ends with The End. Either that means a new chapter is starting for these characters or the series just ended unfinished? I'm not sure what I think, and there was no note from the author clarifying this. It would have to be my guess that a new series would start with them being at Blood Moon Academy because there is still plenty of unanswered questions.

Book 3

I loved this series starting out. It really has been an amazing one. The plot and characters were perfect! But I just didn’t feel like I got all I need from this last one.

*Spoiler*

You really don’t get to learn about the mens pasts like I wanted, and there’s so much unfinished business. Plus it definitely needs some better editing. I definitely understand some mistakes, don’t get me wrong. But sometimes one guy would be mentioned then it would say another guys name for the same scene so it would confuse me as to which guy was actually with her.

Overall, I totally recommend this series, but I just hope there’s another one down the line to answer all those unanswered questions.

Hmm I don’t know what to think about this book…
there were more punctuation errors and grammar mistakes than character development, was there a plot? Do we ever get a why in anything?

There were too much unfinished business and tropes just tossed aside, this was just soo repetitive and predictable.

The relationships felt forced and rushed and the characters at one point just began to get mixed up.

The world building is a -20 and when I said I wanted more of the guys POVs I really just meant the guys not the whole other side characters!!

And WTF was that ending, it wasn’t even a good cliffhanger, I literally don’t know anything of relevance in this book, I was really expecting it to be better.

Good story. Has had no editing

Story 5. Editing -2. Price. High for length.
The more books I read by this author the more frustrated I get with the lack of editing. They evidently don't know any grammar . they leave the reader adding or subtracting punctuation as they read. "Your" should be you're. Plural of Dads is not Dad's. Adoring should be adorning. So many things are wrong. The one with the most body drops buys the first round - means the largest number - not the smallest. There are several contradictions. And something about the ending bothered me. I don't know if it was too easy or to rushed or too short. Sometimes I wondered if this was dictated to a computer and no-one corrected the results.

Twists and turns in demon realm

Our teams are separated and we follow Sage's group through the demon realm learning all the societal quirks. At the end of the book the action finally picks up and the plot moves forward. Another team is united and supports Sage's team in releasing captives. For several years I assumed this series was completed with this fairly unsatisfying ending, but now it appears a new volume has been released. I will definitely read that one, despite the absolutely horrible editing in this series. It became a comedic sideline to the story, with many misspellings making me laugh. The run on sentences, constant misuse of punctuation and prolific use of a certain curse word just made me shake my head.

Completed??? Uh no. Massive cliffhanger.

This series is awesome but it says that the series is completed and then says that this is finished but not the main story... Like yeah they rescued everyone but haven't spoken to anyone about almost everything. The book needed on a massive cliffhanger. With almost everything unfinished that to me doesn't speak of completed series. Just one task in a line of tasks finished every question from the other books left in answered. It's almost off-putting in a slap in the face way because this series is super great. Hopefully the next book is soon.

Good story, still bad editing

The plot moves at a breakneck speed, but it never really feels rushed. The frantic pace is appropriate for the content. Sage and her guys are getting to know each other much better, and Sage is picking up a bunch of fantastic allies along the way. I really want Cole's story!

Author has a horrible time with too much punctuation (mostly commas), not enough punctuation (again, mostly commas), and run-on sentences. Multiple instances on nearly every page. Desperately needs a complete re-edit by a professional. Would bump to 4 stars upon editing. Phenomenal story otherwise.

Leaves you with too many unanswered questions.

I enjoyed this series for the first book. I had to force myself to finish the whole series.
The typos and mixing up characters drove me crazy through out the three books. How can you be walking holding Mav and Hunters and explaining Jax's story and how you are comforting him by holding his hand. No you are not you were holding Mav's hand. Do some authors not read what they write?
Also, you had an amazing build up for a relationship between Kia and Jax and NOTHING came from it!!!
So disappointing.
I wouldn't both with this series it leaves you very frustrated.

I can't even think of where to begin. Not only does it leave more unanswered questions, but the climax was definitely NOT equal to the 3 book build-up of sexual tension! So not worth the read.

Once you overlooked the overwhelming punctuation and grammar errors (commas are important people) the story was good. I was intrigued from the beginning. But then it just went to shit. There is so much going on that it's hard to keep track of it all.

The whole ending of this book felt rushed. Finally (FINALLY), the intimate scene is thrown into the last 5 pages almost as an afterthought. And lacking. What a waste of 3 days worth of reading. Sigh
