The Marauder has been burnt up and people have been killed and Wolverine is on the case. Dope detective style book. Only issue I have is that I haven’t read any of the Hellfire Gala stuff so I don’t know the lead up to this.

Wolverine is doing his impression of a hard boiled detective and it's pretty enjoyable. There's still a lot he doesn't know and it's intriguing. I'm so glad this wasn't another vampire issue! This week's X-books were pretty meh but this one isn't. I'm here for this kind of story.

Second reading: hard boiled detective isn't as accurate as wild west. Great issue. The Arrakii pirate is big, ugly and violent. And there's a mystery to solve. Emma? Sebastian? Christian? I kinda want it to be Christian

E i cristalli.

Una buona atmosfera, Wolverine che fa Wolverine a Madripoor, gli eventi recenti (Arakko) che si mescolano senza problemi con la storia.
Finalmente un buon fumetto tra le letture dell'ultimo mese.

I am actually somewhat glad with the direction that this issue of Wolverine is going in, but I’m also curious to see if it’s all going to just get lumped in with Percy’s X-Force.

7 of 16 on the catch up.

You can always rely on Wolverine! It's actually more a 3.5 than a 4, it wasn't brilliant but good and let Logan be Logan.

The introduction of ANOTHER villain and ANOTHER story arc in Wolverine is frustrating considering there is still 2 or 3 open and ongoing that are constantly being lost in the churn of events and tie ins.

Finish something off for once!!

Madripoor stories rarely grab me, but this one's an exception, as Logan investigates the burning wreck of the Marauder, which has been robbed of its cargo of Shi'ar logic diamonds. By now we know that Percy writes Logan well, but he confirms it again here, as he imbues the ol' Canucklehead with just the right amount of gruff. This Wolverine pulls no punches as he roughs up the harbour master to extract information from him. At the beginning of the Krakoan era Logan was worried that island life might turn him soft...that is very much not the case.

The brief cameo from Emma Frost was enjoyable and I wonder which of them is truly the deluded one when it comes to the nature of the power dynamic between them?

Kubert's art is, of course, gorgeous, but I have to single out the colourist, Frank Martin, for praise, because his colour work is truly gorgeous. His beautifully atmospheric, almost painterly colours compliment Kubert's linework perfectly!

Back in X Of Swords Solem was teased as a new antagonist for Logan and then nothing seemed to come of that, so I'm glad that we finally seem to be getting to that, and I'm very curious to see where this story is going to lead us!

Emma sends Wolverine on an inverstigation. You only send Wolverine for one reason. Someone needs to die.
