Datebook: The New Age Guide to Modern Dating

Rate this book
The dating culture is relatively new to India. Thriving digital penetration, burgeoning globalization, and the surging revenue market for dating apps have been reducing the taboo associated with dating in India. While Indian valentines struggled to find their date a few years ago, the growing options have been making the dating dreams come true. However, the dating culture is still limited to metro cities; rural hinterlands still hold stereotypical views with regards to dating.

Keeping everything aside, there are a few fundamental flaws or gaps present in the mushrooming dating culture in India. One would wonder if it is even possible and safe to experience the glee of dating in India. This situation is warranting a new dating manual in these modern times to avoid geeky souls and find the valentine of your life.

Life is too short to let go of the love that comes to you. Dating culture has transformed the face of it today more than a couple of years ago. The landscape of dating etiquette beginning from texting etiquette to when to go intimate are all confusing yet pre-set in the modern world.

These rules are just a few to help you in going at your own pace in building an efficient and healthy relationship. You
can craft some for yourself in a similar fashion to suit your needs and tastes.

The 'Datebook' is what one would call the modern day relationship Guide Book. The book discusses in detail all sorts of relationships, their issues and the techniques to charm one’s way. If you are looking for a new and modern outlook on relationships, this book is your saviour. Also, if you are out of touch with what is new in the world of romance and dating, and are dying to get that edge, you would have a lovely time reading this guide.

The concept of writing a guide for modernized dating is unusual; reading Anushka Mehta's new work on this topic is also the first for me. The writing style is straightforward, and the book is short and fast-paced. However, insights into the dating world are something everyone requires, especially if it involves technology. If you want to know the influence of social media on dating life or understand the basic concepts of modern-day courtship, this guide is for you. I recommend it.

It’s a short read that can be read in an hour or two. I picked up this book as obviously I am single and I feel stressed about changing the dating standards so fast. Sometimes I feel like I should have been born on 70s or 80s as the concept of love and marriage was so simple back then. The tagline of the book is “The new age guide to the modern dating.” I will briefly summarise the concept of the book. Obviously it’s a book of non fiction genre. For the first time I have come across such unique books. There are books available on the topics such as love and overcoming heart break but this have new and helpful concept. Author started the book with the concept of online dating. I liked author’s analysis on influence of social media on dating. The next thing author included is sexual identities. We know people have become more open minded towards sexual identities and it has come out as a good quality. I liked how author has define and explained all terminologies. I was unaware of some of them. And then author discussed first date. We all are nervous as well as anxious about first date as it can have impact life long because as we know first impressions matters the most to majority of the people and usually people judge from the antiquates. Author has explained that in well detail. Then author covered topics like recent terminologies such as ghosting. Cheating and having sex part was really important parameters of the book as they are debatable topics and varies according to person to person. I won’t discuss further as it will lead to spoilers. But go grab your copies as it’s quite informative. I liked the topic definitely as it’s very unique and trendy. Author has covered almost all the aspects. Author has thoroughly researched the content and penned this down. The language of the book is lucid that way everyone can pick it up. It can be quite helpful for the single people out there. It’s such a short and sweet read that won’t bore you at all. Overall I enjoyed reading it. Go for it.

Dating, relationships, love… The sheer thought of it sends our heartbeats spiralling.. doesn’t it?(come on admit it, it does, even though just a little bit). But like every other thing in the world, it comes with strings attached, especially if you’re looking for love. Datebook: The New Age Guide to Modern Dating by Anushka Mehta is a book aimed to help you navigate and give you insight into the dating world.

The book majorly focuses on how the course of dating and relationships is changing in today’s digitally advanced world, and how technology plays a role in it. It covers all aspects of dating, from traditional to modern, the methodology, the boundaries, the problems and some solutions.

Every chapter of the book covers specific topics, there are 18 such chapters covering 18 topics. It also covers some closely related concepts like sexual identities and the various terms related to it which we might not be aware of.

The book also makes an effort to erase the stigma around sex, and openly discusses several pointers on the same lines, explaining the role of healthy sex life in a relationship. It also speaks about the ways to a successful and thriving relationship, and solutions of the problems which might arise.

My honest opinion: Overall, I liked the book. It is to the point and acute. There was only one part which I find a little bit inaccurate was the mentioning of signs that show a ‘girl’ liking someone. Frankly, I feel that is something extremely diverse and can never be generalised. The points which were mentioned as ‘signs’ can very well indicate a deep friendship. It doesn’t necessarily display romantic interests. These ‘signs’ might be misleading for the readers. Again, this is just my perception.

Datebook by Anushka Mehta is written in just a mere 33 pages. You must be thinking how relationship advices can be assembled in such a short way but the author has done it with clearing all your doubts regarding your relationship and proposal planning. Datebook has been written keeping in mind all preferences, orientations and choices that one has to make before, during and after a relationship in this modern world of social media where the relationship are not getting hold onto each other.
••••
According to the author , it's great to date online first dating online is the plus side of getting to know the person before you actually meet them as a person. The first negative impact social media can bring into your dating life is a history of your past. Stop bringing each other past in the present while any sort of argument. The social media pressure to upload ‘cute’ pictures with your partner, even when the relationship is leading nowhere, is a serious concern according to the writer.
••••
As new into dating we often get so excited that we start planning ourselves for our first meeting but the writer suggests that nobody likes a confused soul and more than that nobody likes surprises on their first date .The terms like ' Ghosting ' & 'Benching ' is seriously very known to all of us and they need to be worked on by the individual. The author has divided all the answers according in a series of questions. The questions which are very common and every individual has those questions in mind.
••••
I liked the presentation of the author as well as not so long explantions on small issues very common in this modern relationship world.

Datebook : The New Age Guide to Modern Dating by Anushka Mehta is an ideal read for people looking for their significant others , dating isn’t what it used to be , people in India are now much more open to the idea of dating and it has evolved.

Dating irl is so much different than what Bollywood has us expecting and we all know Bollywood is where we get our major love-education from which is completely unrealistic and it’s high time we opened up our eyes to what it’s actually like.

There are several apps for dating and the old school concept of coincidentally meeting someone and clicking in five minutes is kind of a bygone.

Although it all being so readily available for us is it easy to find love? The answer is absolutely No. There is so much that goes into finding your person , and how do you not get tricked and overlook the red flags and we all know we have rose coloured glasses on when we’re in love.

The author has given her advices based on her experiences which I found very helpful. This book is also a guide for people who want to learn more about the current dating scenario , we obviously have friends and take their opinions but then our knowledge is just limited to our own circle so why not take advice from someone who has actually researched and experienced a lot more , so much so that she wrote a book out of it and an amazing and helpful one. Definitely recommended!

Book Name- “Datebook: The New Age Guide to Modern Dating”
The advancing current age dating style has modified how dating is seen. Observing an ideal date is no longer as intense as circumnavigating the world yet not quite as simple as it sounds. This short dating manual endeavours to clear the entirety of our questions in an all-around expressed way. The thoughts and suppositions put forth are relative and affirm the cutting edge age needs. I truly like the creator's way of recommending things. A ton of exploration has gone into the book, which is clear from how the accounts are sewn.
There is either factor you consider engaging through your excursion of this book.
This book is an absolute necessity dating manual, assuming you are wandering into the cutting edge age dating world. With this book available to you, you generally have your best aide at your help to assist you with cruising through the toughest choice-making emergencies.
Worth the cash. I have been following crafted by this creator, and I can't avoid yet saying that this young woman will become showbiz royalty sometime in the not-so-distant future.

Unique guide

This guide to modern age dating is something unique to me. The old fashioned Indian concept of love and marriage is being taken over slowly by the millenials who are trying to find love, going out on dates. To know the dos and donts on dates is important, cause its a matter of impression on the partner. During the period of courtship a person should stay in his best behaviour. But how to do it? This where this book could come in help. This short courting guide tries to clean all our doubts in a proper manner.

Author expresses in the book the pros and cons of online relationship/ dating through social media or dating apps. I preferred author’s analysis on impact of social media on relationship. I like how open minded the author has been while compiling this work, she has defined every kind of relationship between people with different sexual identities and thus various possibilities and situations. I favored how writer has define and explained all terminologies. You can buy this book if you have doubts regarding love, coutship, etc.

It is not new to hear that dating in India has been a pretty taboo subject. However, the dating landscape has been changing in India with the advent of new technologies and the opportunities being provided to choose a better partner.

From texting to going on a first date, the dating scenario is changing day by day. What you believed a few years back might be outdated and you might need to change your perspective in order to keep up with the changing times.

Datebook by Anushka Mehta provides a guide to anyone seeking to improve their chances of finding a long-term relationship. A guide that teaches the etiquette of the dating world, to be charming, patient, and open-minded in a relationship. Many mantras to keep up with the new trends have been provided and the book tells you what works and what sounds not too great. I found the book to be original and raw in its approach and content. Definitely worth a try.

Relationship advice is the most difficult to give to anyone. When it comes to modern dating, the game becomes even more difficult and in some cases riskier. You turn your face in a different direction, and lo and behold, the rules of the game are changed - for the better or for worse - nobody can tell.

In such a situation, for our rescue comes this book that describes our dilemmas properly in a crisp, concise way and then goes on to solve them one by one. From recognizing if someone is flirting or just showing friendly behavior, to the rules and regulations of dating, the etiquette of texting someone for the first time and for the last time - most of the topics are covered in this piece. I believe this will come handy for someone who wants to understand dating and wish to excel in finding a partner the right way.

Is dating a casual thing in present India? Well teenagers might say a yes but it's not that simple, right !

Getting into commitments and relationships and taking care of it along with aiding growth of your bond isn't that easy specially when it's just know to you and your partner and a few other close friends.

This book is out of the blue pop up to address the current scenario regarding all sorts of relationships which we can expect. From simple ones to the most tricky ones. From being honest to being flexible, this book has alot of lessons to offer.

It's more of a guidebook to enhance your own character to take forth your relations and making them a better place to enjoy the paradise. It covers almost all aspect one can face during the tenure of being together with someone without legally getting together.

A guidebook which you can surely give a read.

This book is basically a really useful guide to modern dating. I belong to the small percentage of people who have never dated in their whole life. I had picked this book simply out of curiosity, unsure if I would ever use the advice in real life. The book goes over various topics like signs that show someone is interested, planning dates, effective communication, sexual identities and modern dating trends and so on. The book also exposes topics like ghosting, cat-fishing, cheating and how and when to cut ties from people exhibiting such patterns. The book can be a great guide for someone who is new to the field of dating or someone whose forte isn’t dating. The book has been very lucidly written and can be followed and comprehended by almost anyone who understands English.

One of the most complex things in India is dating; there are no rules or people who can give you sane advice regarding relationships. Although, a few topics seem debatable because there is a thin line between understanding the subtle hints and blowing something entirely because of one's hypocritical creation. You can find true love on these apps, or maybe not, but you must be careful all the time while meeting/connecting new people.
The writing style is straightforward, and the book is short and fast-paced. However, insights into the dating world are something everyone requires, especially if it involves technology. If you want to know the influence of social media on dating life or understand the basic concepts of modern-day courtship, this guide is for you. I recommend it.
