A duck, a motorcycle gang and a voodoo princess walk into a bar in Hell... No punchline, just life in The Nine. Gabe’s soul is leaking like the head gasket on an old Ford and every Demon in the underworld is out to slurp up his oozing essence. He barely has the energy to walk down the street and now his partner, Alex plans to instigate a war between the street gangs in L.A.. When a voyeuristic angel arrives, things get out of hand and Gabe and Alex can only hope she takes their side. The very fabric of American society is under attack, forcing neighbors and families to choose sides against one another. Gabe must stop the senseless slaughter, but first he needs to fix his leaky soul or else he will discover a whole new depth of Hell. If you like snarky characters and dark humor, then you’ll love War Origin, the Fourth book in the action-packed Judas Files urban fantasy series. Series now complete!

War Origin
(The Judas Files #4)
by C.G. Harris
I just love this series! It's about a guy working as a double agent in the Ninth level of Hell for Judas, yes, that Judas! Each book just gets better and better! Oh my gosh and this ending... No! I NEED the next book now! I have been getting them on Chirp. The narration is awesome!
The plot, the characters, the crazy underworld and its weirdness is fascinating! The humor! Scattered everywhere and keeps me laughing too! Laughing in Hell! Pick up the first book and get addicted to Hell like me! You'll thank me for it!

The story has good twists and turns and the addition of Gabe's new buddy is a nice surprise. It's a fun read.

I liked this book in the Judas Files series the best so far. When Gabe is Topside from The Nine (a part of Hell), he becomes ill with a condition that causes his soul to leak. The only way to stop the leak is to bond with a living body from Topside. That bond requires close contact at all times. Unfortunately, in the panic of the emergency, Gabe's partner and friends grab the closest warm body available, which happens to be a duck. Gabe and the duck, nicknamed Quack, can communicate mentally. Eventually Alex can also hear the duck's thoughts. Gabe has been a snarky Judas Agent throughout the series, but when Quack proves to be equally (if not more) snarky, the story becomes more fun (in the midst of horror and chaos, of course).

Nope. I got through the first 3 but this one is just too stupid. Can't do it.
