Mike isn’t about to let a little thing like being forced into retirement stop him from investigating the mob activity on San Juan Island. Sure, it’s dangerous, but he can handle it. He’s about to crack the case wide open, too…then he sees her again and everything gets way more complicated.
Lynn Campbell loves retirement. Leaving the FBI gave her more time with her daughter and let her live out her dreams of being a full-time artist. But the mystery Mike brings into her life is irresistible, and unfortunately for her peace of mind, so is the man himself.
Soon, Mike and Lynn find themselves caught up in a case neither of them should’ve been working on—and in the middle of a romance they never expected. Is happily ever after possible for two retired agents in Westcott Bay? Maybe. If the bad guys don’t ruin their chances…permanently.
Saltwater Promises, the final book in the Westcott Bay series, is a sweet, romantic, mature women’s fiction read packed with excitement, suspense, and love
Amelia Addler is an author of feel-good romantic women's fiction stories. Her books focus on the importance of family, love and hope - all intermingled with romance and mystery. Her popular Westcott Bay series takes place on beautiful San Juan Island, just off the coast of Washington State, and offers an escape for readers and arm-chair travelers alike.
Amelia lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and little dog. When she's not writing, she's busy plotting trips to San Juan Island to see the killer whales, or explaining to people on hikes that her dog is not, in fact, a coyote.

This final book in the series was just as good as all the others. They have made a great summer read and I enjoyed reading about Margie and her family and friends. It was a little bit of romance mixed in with a bit of suspense and mystery.
Kiedyś oboje, Mike Grady i Lynn Campbell byli agentami FBI.
Saltwater Promises: Wescott Bay Novel Book 7 is by Amelia Addler. This seventh book is a really good one. It had been so long since I read the last one that I had forgotten some of the details; but they quickly came back. Mike has finally retired from the FBI and is coming home, or at least his sister thinks so. Mike isn’t sure what he is going to do. He retired mainly because of his inept supervisor, Ned. Ned was in it only for the glory and not for the hard work to catch the true villains. However, he is attending an art gallery opening as one of his retirement activities when he is shot at. He locates Lenny leaving the area and knows Lenny is the one who tried to kill him. With the help of the FBI, a body is produced to be buried at Gary, Mike’s alter ego. Thus, making the mob believe that he is dead. Now, Mike is free to go home. A former FBI agent and a friend of Mike’s is having a showing of her paintings in a gallery on the islands. She wants Mike to come; but as himself and not disguised as an agent. Lynn has feelings for Mike that she has never disclosed. If she does, how will he react? Meanwhile, Lenny begins to show up again which makes Mike uneasy. He knows he has left a job unfinished so he must try to finish it. Can he get anyone in the FBI to listen to him?
So sorry to see the Westcott Bay series end, but excited to see a new series will begin. This family story centered more on former FBI Special Agent Mike Grady. There was much more intrigue and mystery than family drama in this episode. It's a quick and easy read. Margie was up to her old habit of matchmaking while planning a double wedding. Mike reconnects with a past FBI aquaintance, Lynn. She's now moved nearby, also retired and an up and coming artist. Mike's not handling retirement well and still trying to wrap up the mob case left unfinished. He no longer has the FBI support and backing. His old nemesis, tracksuit Lenny, is up to something and Mike can't leave it be. Mike resumes his undercover persona, Gary Bomba, to finish what he started. The result may get Lynn killed and he risks everything to protect her. You really need to read the prior books in this series or you'll miss lots of family background and character development. It's a series I've thoughoughly enjoyed! Saltwater Promises is best of the series yet, it has everything you need - drama, love, mystery, suspense, a beautifully described island setting, nothing profane, and good old fashioned sappy romance. Highly recommend! 4.5 stars!
Mike has returned home to Westcott Bay after being a target in a shooting. He is supposed to be retired from the FBI but he still on the case he is hoping he can break wide open before anyone else gets hurt. When he runs into Lynn, also a retired agent, life starts taking a interesting twist in his personal life, but also in his quest to crack the case. Can he save the one person he could not forget all these years or will he be too late to find his happily ever after?
AmeliaAddler has brought this series to and end with a nail-biting conclusion as we finally get to be a part of the elusive Mike whom we have been hearing and getting to read snippets about since the beginning. I loved catching up with Margie and her family and will definitely miss them, that is until I heard that another series is in the making and we might still get to visit them from time to time. This has been one of my all-time favourite book series and I look forward to what Ms. Addler has in store next for her readers. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I was gifted and would like to thank the author AmeliaAddler. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A nice ending to this series. It all started with Mike giving a property on San Juan Island to his sister, Margie, before he left for another undercover FBI investigation. Margie turns it into an event venue and second home for her children and stepchildren. Each book focuses on one of those children. Weaving throughout, though, is an undercurrent crime and mafia involvement. This last book finishes with the person who started the entire story - Mike. He is forced into retirement from the FBI and his not finished with being a crime fighter and putting a stop to this crime threatening his family. So, without the support of the the FBI, he decides to do things on his own. He is surprised when he runs into an old friend and ex-FBI agent, Lynn. Are they just friends or is there more there? There were more crime elements than I like in a book but much less than a real crime thriller. A satisfying end to this series although this last book introduces Margie's friend, Claire. She is the subject of a subsequent series called Orcas Island, which I read before this Westcott Bay series. Now sex or profanity
Saltwater Promises has the characters from the previous stories but we meet Mike's former co-worker Lynn. Mike is retired but, he cannot stop till he solves the crime that Lenny was involved in. He met Lynn by chance at a gallery. She is painting now that she has retired from the FBI. There was feelings between Mike and Lynn that had been covered up for years.
In this story we see Margie doing her matchmaking with Claire and Mike. They were so embarrassed when they were spying on Mike and Lynn on a date and Mike caught them. Margie is working on Jade and Tiffany's double wedding. Claire helps with that as much as she can. She tells Margie her secret that had been bothering her that she was told to tell no one.
This story is full of suspense and fear due to the involvement of Mike and Lynn in the crime going on San Juan Island. In Mike's eyes, his family and friends would never be safe until that mob family was in jail. But, getting shot at does not assure Mike of making it out of this alive.
It was good but not great! I like the characters and the story line. I am very thankful that the criminals in these books are caught without harm or death happening to the victims. For this series, I got a little lost in the money laundering and then there wasn't closure to what happened to some of the characters or how they were involved. Like what happened to the lady politician? She may show up in the next book but I'm still wondering what her role was since she was mentioned several times. I am glad all of the books so far have had happy endings!
Saltwater Promises is an exciting, intriguing end to a great series. I am so glad to finally read Mike's story. Forced into retirement from the FBI, he is still working to solve the mob activity on San Juan Island. Can he keep his extended family safe while continuing to work the case? I loved the introduction of artist and ex FBI agent Lynn Campbell as Mike's long time romantic interest. I dropped everything to just enjoy this exciting and well written book.
What an exciting story and ending to the series. Lynn certainly can keep her cool! I’m so glad the bad guys get it in the end. I’m happy that Mike (and Lynn) will have something to do in his retirement. Mike has to finish what he started as an FBI agent, now retired. Lynn, a retired FBI agent is pulled into this intrigue unknowingly. An all wrapped up series that will leave you smiling.
Lets start with saying the writing in this series is real good the back drop of island, Ocean, small town charm all promising, however the characters are definitely milk toast. The chief deputy walls into a courthouse of his peers packing his wife's oversized purse, really, not any man I know. Most of the characters in this series are lacking much of a backbone and are very fluffy people.
This is Lynn and Mike’s story. I liked that two retired FBI agents end up meeting again in this small community. This is another exciting, entertaining story and I liked getting to see where some of the other characters are now. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this installment of Saltwater Bay. I enjoyed reading about Mike and him finding happiness eventually with Lynne. Amelia writes a great story, and I now have Saltwater Christmas to read by signing up to Amelia Addler website which is amazing and very kind. She has a great gift writing heartwarming stories that you can escape into. Margie feels like a new friend and Hank makes me giggle.

This series has not disappointed. Margie wanted to bring her family together again and with her brother, Mike’s, help and generosity she was able to do that. She was able to start a new life for herself and a new business. Her children have slowly been able to find happiness. This series is a must read. You will feel like you are right there on San Juan Island.
The series was fantastic!!! Loved all the people even the bad ones. Really going to miss them. Will continue following Amelia Addler. Now to start and see what will be happening with Claire and her hotel. Hopefully the gang will be also in this series.
Great characters, a bit of action, and a sweet romance
This last book in the Westcott Bay series has got just the right bit of suspense, romance, and lighthearted moments. The characters are well done and the situation seem plausible. There are a few surprises in this one, too.
This is the last book in a wonderful series! I knew it had to end eventually but ...This book was just as great as the first book in the series! I love the ending of this series and look forward to the beginning of the next!
I like a series, because it seems you get to know the characters of the books. It makes it enjoyable to read the next book and see how the characters grow. Though I did like this series, I felt like this last book was reaching for a story.
I love these books set in the San Juan islands of Washington state. In Saltwater Promises we get to know more about Mike Grady, former FBI. Lots is adventures and familiar banter between characters, something that I love. Enjoy.
Saltwater Promises is a wonderful read. It's a page turner. This story kept me on the edge of my sit. It's a well written story. It has a good storyline. I enjoyed reading about the characters.
3 1/2 stars. Good clean series. Characters are familiar. This one just wasn’t as good as some of the others. Mike retired FBI guy still working a case. Lynn is a former FBI but now paints, Margie still trying to set everyone up.
This book can't be put down ! Love the intense when Mike was looking for Lynn. Happy that she finally opened up to Mike on how she felt about him.The ending was great.
I really enjoyed reading this book! It is about a man who is an undercover FBI agent and his lady friend who is also an FBI agent. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance novel!
