About the author

Gordon Kane is the Victor Weisskopf Collegiate Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan, and the director of the Michigan Center for Theoretical Physics. He was awarded the Lilienfeld Prize of the American Physical Society, and is the author of The Particle Garden.

Good overview of Particle Physics with a bit of the theory presented in a very elementary way.

This book attempts to introduce the basic concepts of particle physics and the Standard Model, while avoiding the intricacies of Quantum Field Theory. A solid background in Quantum Mechanics is required. In my opinion, it does a decent enough job.
