Nameless is back and still working with Ace of Spades in helping people who are in trouble or know others who are. Nameless is still operating under an engineered amnesia, but occasionally still has visions of another life as well as visions of the future and his current missions. However, lately Nameless has been having visions of a future that involves a group that uses a violent triskelion as the symbol for their group’s revolution.

Lost Soul of the City – Ace of Spades has sent Nameless to some nameless city and his mission is to help a teenaged boy get rid of two particular scumbags who are arming the gangbangers in his city with weapons. Nameless starts having a vision/premonition of a young man in a yellow jacket laying dead in the snow. He also crosses paths with a man who has a tattoo of the triskelion that Nameless has been seeing in his visions.

Gentle Is the Angel of Death – Nameless is sent to AR to track down a doctor who has been killing disabled people as well as other people he deems as too physically ugly as to have any worth or value. In this mission, Nameless receives the help of townspeople who had a friend or relative that Dr Death murdered. In this story, Nameless continues to have the visions of the triskelion and begins to see the possible future of what is to come from the group represented by the triskelion.

Kaleidoscope – Nameless finds himself in TX during some downtime in-between missions and has more of his visions of the future and the triskelion. Before moving onto his next mission, he has a horrible and violent vision of some nice people he met, and he tries to warn them of what’s to come and advises them to get out and leave before it happens. Moving onto his next mission, Nameless is tasked with taking down the operators of a horrible puppy mill that is much more than what it appears as well as more than Ace knew about. Nameless begins to worry about Ace.

Light Has Weight – Once again finding himself with some downtime between missions, Nameless, has visions of a woman and a child. His visions lead him to suspect that they are running from three men. After tracking the woman and child and the three men down in an abandoned shopping mall in AZ, Nameless protects the woman and girl (who ran away from a commune in NM) along with a homeless, former mall security guard from the three men who are trying to abduct the woman and girl and take them back to the commune. Nameless continues to see the same visions of the future that are becoming more frequent and are becoming more and more violent. He also meets with a man who knew Nameless before the amnesia, and he advises Nameless that his missions need to come to an end soon.

Corkscrew – In this story, we find out more about the mission of the group behind the triskelion called The One Solution, a group of deranged, narcissistic, nutters from the top 1% who are determined to rid the world of anyone who is not part of their group and does not share their goals for achieving their vision of what they want the world to be. Nameless goes after another member in hopes of finding out more about the group and its plans. He also meets more of the members of his own team, who also work with Ace of Spades.

Nameless also goes back to the town in TX where he met some really nice people, and he spends some downtime (Xmas) in the town just enjoying their company. He still has a horrible vision about a couple and their teenaged daughter though.

Zero In – In this final installment of the series, we find out who Nameless and Ace of Spades are as well as the man that that Nameless met in AZ who knew him before, and he learns why they are all doing what they do. We also meet the head and organizer of The One Solution and learn of his plans to create a world of anarchy after which he will then instill a totalitarian government. He compares himself to Richard Burton’s character in the 1984 movie.

The ending was surprising yet not surprising. The whole series was leading to this kind of ending. It was very satisfying. All of the stories are 3-3.5star ratings, but because I really liked the ending, I'm going to rate the season a 4star.

All six of these short stories are quick and easy reads and can each be read/listened to in an hour or two. Throughout the season, we see Nameless starting to question some of the memories he thinks he’s having of another life. We see his engineered amnesia begin wearing off and ends with his amnesia completely crumbling. We learn why he wanted to forget his previous life.

We also learn about a totalitarian group that is sometimes quietly and sometimes loudly beginning to indoctrinate a population. This theme is a familiar one. We’ve seen it throughout history and again on January 6, 2021. Unfortunately, we are destined to see it again, sooner or later.

Dean Koontz returns with the final season of NAMELESS, a series of short, speculative techno-thrillers. Season One ended with Nameless—the roaming, amnesiac agent of justice—discovering a worldwide plot to turn the planet into a dystopian hellscape. Season Two sees him dismantling the secret organization behind said plot.

As usual with this era of Koontz, his writing is full of intense depth, detailed description, captivating characters, vivid imagery, and a genuine love for the language. Every single story in the collection had me marveling at some point or another at the man's skill.

We get more of Nameless' backstory and life when he's not out righting wrongs—and these passages are some of my favourite parts. The way Dean describes the wearers of the triskelion—the strange symbol Nameless keeps seeing throughout the series—and the dystopian future its wearers wish to bring about, is chilling. Every sentence in these stories feels like watching a master at work.

I listened on Audible. Edoardo Ballerini narrated brilliantly, showcasing the thoughtfulness of the writing and bringing powerful performances to all the different characters throughout.

A satisfying conclusion. Would love to see more in this format from Koontz.

I binged all 6 volumes of Season 2. I enjoyed the stories, the good vs evil theme. "Zero In" is the culmination of the series and tied together the stories from both seasons. The Nameless series is a "collection of stories about a man in search of the truth, the past, and those who owe a debt of blood." It gave Nameless' backstory, his motivation and an appropriate ending. It is also a commentary/warning about society today and how we could lose the freedoms we enjoy to totalitarian rule. Great series, entertaining, thought-provoking, timely - well worth binging both seasons in order.

I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and was sad that this is the end.

Nameless has a past he can't remember and an employer he doesn't know. He has flashes of memories he can't fully grasp of people he can't place. He rids the world of evil one person at a time. When it all comes to a head in book 6 it is a sad but welcome relief for Nameless.

I highly recommend this series. The narrator was excellent and fit the series perfectly!

Nameless is shown footage of what happened to his wife, daughter, and unborn son, which restores the memories that he had lost by the forced amnesia. But there is one last mission that he and Ace must undertake—the destruction of the group of men who feel humanity is contaminating the earth. The triskelion, their symbol composed of the bent arms and closed fists that has haunted Nameless’ visions, represents their purpose to remove revolting humanity from the earth and replace humans with robots. When Nameless—real name Porter Augustine—fulfills this mission his life’s purpose will be accomplished as it is this triskelion group that is responsible for the deaths of his family.

Another great collection of short stories about Nameless, a mysterious man dispensing justice. The series did seem to run out of steam at the end, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I recommend NOT binging this series--best to enjoy a little at a time.

Quick enjoyable listens. This season took place in a much more concentrated period of time. If there were a Season 3 (doubtful), I would keep listening.

71-2022. The final six chapters in our hero’s story are pretty satisfying. It gets a little far fetched, but still, it’s wrapped up well. Our guy does some good, and finds some peace after trauma.

So many tales of suspense and intrigue the only way that Koontz can present it. Masterly voiced by Edoardo Ballerini.

The nameless series hearkens back to Odd Thomas which was my introduction to Dean Koontz, needless to say I've never looked back. While his titles can be hit and miss Nameless ticks all the boxes

This is such a great series, and I am sad that it is finished. It was such a unique storyline and I enjoyed the different people Nameless came across. It was a nice wrap up as well.

I really liked this series. It's kinda sad it's over, but so the questions were answered except for "what next?"

This season picks up shortly after the events of season one.

Though Nameless continues on his Missions Of The Week, the dystopian premonitions feature much more prominently this time ‘round.

We learn the meaning of the Triskelion, as well as One Solution.

Nameless makes new friends.  And reconnects with old ones.

Recollections and resolutions…

Unfortunately—not a fan of the ending.  But I’ll stand by my earlier statements:  DK does well with a page-count limit.  It keeps his purple prose in check, and makes for a taut and concise narrative.

Exceptional writing and being short books that you can pretty much read in a night it kept me wanting more i was super sad that it ended and ended for good. No cliff hangers wrapped up in a neat little bow and presented to me with much fan fair. As only Dean Koontz can do. Satisficed with it and still want more hopefully he can figure out another series like this for us to read. Please and thank you :)
