Oh boy where to start, I began this series as it seemed like a nice summer read and who doesn't like to read about Nantucket and families????
I feel that this author has mimicked another who writes about a B&B and family on Nantucket. However she cared nothing for the finer details.
SPOILER ALERT!
There is no way a large hotel would be built on Nantucket without ALOT of permitting and meetings of the council and residents! NONE! We are just supposedly to believe that construction of that magnitude wouldn't be noticed until it was well under way? NAH.
Then there is the offer to buy Little Bull.....hello.....who signs contracts for business' without a lawyer and BTW really? Gavin the creep & thief is partner in the consortium wreaking havoc on the family and it's business'? Best to title this book Revenge on the dumb and dumber.
Grace Palmer has lost me as a reader, the ending of this book just ticked me off.

I would rather give this no stars. It’s the worst book I’ve ever read. Until the end the main characters almost never interact. When they finally do nothing is resolved. It’s like the author just stopped writing and went off to do something else. The only reason I finished it was to see how things worked out, but instead the story just stopped. There were also numerous grammatical errors that should have been caught but were not. Don’t waste your time one this one. It’s plain bad.

No Forever Like Nantucket: Sweet Island Inn Book 6 is by Grace Palmer. It seems that the luck the Bensons have been having is running out quickly for everyone but Brent. Even the weather is stormy on Nantucket.
Mae and Dominic are engaged. He took Mae on an evening walk and proposed while kneeling in the sand with the water lapping at his right side. Mae’s thoughts raced through her life and came up with the decision that this was the right thing to do at the right time, so she said yes. While reveling in the bliss of being engaged as they drove home, her bubble was popped in an instant when she saw the sign on the new construction that said it was the site of the new Sweet Island Hotel. It was just down the street from her inn. What would this mean for the future of the inn?
Sara and Joey had just come home from a weekend trip for Sara to receive an award. She was going through the mail that piled up while she was gone. She opened a letter to find a company wanted to buy her restaurant but keep her on for a year as chef. The money was hard to imagine. After talking it over with Joey, she thought it best to sell. Shortly after, she finds herself in Boston signing the papers. Now what?
Holly was looking forward to seeing her best friends, Lindsey and Diane, when they came for their high school reunion. Pete had taken the kids and gone to a family reunion in Boston so Holly was on her own. When Lindsey and Diane got to her house, things began going downhill when they started listing their accomplishments. All Holly had to offer was a stay-at-home mom. However, when the most popular boy from high school started flirting with her, things changed in an instant.
Eliza was at the end of her rope. Everything seems to have gone up in cost. Her grocery bill was $20 overbudget. Where would she get the money to make it up? Oliver’s jobs brought in some money; but that money didn’t go far. With two girls to bring up, where would they get the money? As she stresses over everything, she becomes depressed, but she won’t take any medication. She just looks for Wine O’clock!
As things get progressively worse for each of them. Brent is helping Rose with their baby, Jessa May, and her daughter, Susanna. Sleep deprivation seems to be their only problem.
The book is hopefully building up for the finale in the next book. The suspense builds and builds and now solutions have to be figured out. Other than a few typing mistakes, the makeup of the book is great.

This takes place about a year after the previous book. The story focuses on family and business. There is also addiction, lawsuits, pregnancy, a reunion, and various proposals. Not all of the proposals are positive. The ending is disappointing. It ends with a lot of the storylines left open.

Can the Ocean Bring a Peaceful End?
I hope this is a series because I am dying to know what happens next. For most of the book, I felt as depressed and confused and "wronged" as these girls... just as the author intended. Now I am anxious to find out just how their lives turn around.

Gotta love the Benson’s! This series is incredible and based around a fab family and their trials and tribulations! Each character has their own problems and issues and shows how they come together to overcome everything as family do. A great addition to this series with an entertaining storyline and some fab peeps who you will fall in love with especially if you start with book one!

Mae Benson, a 65 year old widow who runs the small Sweet Island Inn on Nantucket, has just been proposed to by her long time boyfriend, and can’t wait to tell her daughters who also live on the island. But on the way home they notice a sign and see that construction has begun on a new, large, fancy hotel that will also be called Sweet Island Inn. She is angry and perplexed, and her attorney says they will pursue whatever actions they can take to stop them using the name of her business, but can’t guarantee anything.
One by one, we also meet her daughters, who are all suffering some setbacks in their lives as well. Things just seem to get worse for each of them, and they come together to support each other, but little is resolved in this short novel which ends too soon. The ending was so truncated that I expected to see a pitch to “buy the next in the series to see what happens”, but no such sequel exists…

Actually 2.5 would be more appropriate. This was book 6 of a series and I dropped in without reading the first five so perhaps I was less sympathetic to the actions of the women featured. The book starts with a magical engagement between an older women that they were going to share with her four children that night. Never happened. One of the daughters signed a contract to sell her restaurant without reading it or knowing any of the details. Another daughter is dealing with panic attacks regularly and is not sharing the info with her husband and family and instead is becoming an alcoholic by during time oblivion evenings. And in the end the resolution is they are all happy to be together walking into the oven for a swim after a major storm. Not one of the stormy lines in the plot are resolved. Clearly readers are expected to buy boo7 to find out what happens to these sad adults!!

DNF. I wanted to throw this book across the room and yell at nearly every character. From Sara signing a contract without a lawyer present, nor looking over the details and biting herself in the behind; to Eliza refusing to acknowledge that she's becoming an alcoholic and not communicating her struggles to her husband and actually getting help that she truly needs. Holly, a mom of 2, is entertaining her old high school friends for a reunion and she's fawning over a crush from high school, and reverting to near teenage behavior. This was infuriating and I couldn't read any further.

We again see the Benson family on Nantucket. Their saga continues as Mae Benson and her family continues to face trials in their lives. In this book, the focus is more on Mae and the girls. Each of them are having problems in their own ways just like reality. I loved the continuation of their lives as well as looking forward to the next book to see what happens. I loved the ending of the book in which the girls show their strength together.

Family comes first
This was a wonderful story of 3 sisters and their mother, all different and in different relations. Very descriptive scenery and characters. I enjoyed following what was happening in each of their lives and how even those close to us don't really know us. Was hard for me to keep track of the characters and who was who until the sisters and mom came together when they needed each other. Eager to read next book in series.

Ended too fast
I love the series but am so disappointed! I realize these books are fast reads. This book just came up short! I am too attached to this family! I realize this is book 6 so this may be it! As much as I am disappointed I will anxiously await the next book in the series!

I found them last two books prolific in descriptive pages & simply wanted more of the story line. As well, the professional, grown adults had over-dramatic juvenile reactions to life situations with which most people find productive ways. I was eager to be done with the series, only to find that I was left hanging. Another to come in the series or just this abrupt ending.

This book really brings the girls together with their Mother, they each experience something that only the support of family can make better. Each book in this series just gets more inspiring and enjoyable.

This has been a great series, getting the reader invested in the Benson family. I hope there is a book 7 because the ending was so quick and unsatisfying. Please write another so we know how the families issues resolve.

Everything is falling apart for everybody and it is so unbelievably predictable that it is boring. Unfortunantly it ends on a cliffhanger. If there is another book, I certainly hope it shows a little imagination,.
