Tosha spends most of her days reading and writing. She loves anything fantasy and swears her black cat, Xena, is secretly a shifter. Tosha wants Xena to steal her away from the human world, but she’s playing the slow game. She’ll just have to butter her up by letting her sleep on her chest some more. One day, she’ll get to dance in the dark with real supernaturals. Until then, she’ll keep writing stories about strong women and sexy men with powers.
Hey everyone, I hope you like this book. I put my sweat, tears, and love into this book. Enjoy!
I sent the second edition out! If you thought there were a few mistakes, I tried to fix them. If you're interested in being a beta reader please reach out. I'd love to get your reader feedback!
This could be reallllly good with some better editing. Some basic errors, some spots where it feels like chunks are missing and stuff is out of order. Weird shifting of POV between her and her inner voice.
I've been trying to read more, but I don't have time. I liked this author's other books, so I took the time to read The Wolf Oath. I have to say, it is way better than her other books. I liked the others but I am more of a werewolf fan.
I was one of Tosha's arc readers. I had such a great time reading her book. Piper is very relatable and fun to read about. The voice inside her head had my stomach hurting from laughter. The mystery was well done. I thought it was a different person the whole time. The way she helped with the case using human behavior was unique and interesting. I recommend this book to haram-loving and werewolf readers.
There is something about a good book that puts you in a good mood. I feel like I'm on cloud nine today. Who doesn't like werewolves and harems. She reminded me of the show criminal minds which I love. I highly recommend this book.
Tosha will you be my valentine? This is such a fantastic book. The romance and sex scenes are on point. The action and mystery had me biting my nails for more. I highly recommend it. Please hurry with the series, I need to know what happens.
I got my copy yesterday. I finished it this morning. It was a good read. The world she created was unique from other fantasy worlds. Not everything is explained about the world but that's because Piper doesn't have all the answers, so it's easier to connect with her when we're learning these new things with her. The second book she's going to know more, I can just tell by the way it ended. I'm looking forward to growing with her.
Piper was mourning her sister and decided to go on a camping trip with friends. But the trip was doomed. Rescuing a wolf should have been rewarded, right? Instead she was attacked, bitten, and she and her friend woke up in a wolf village. Now she's got new instincts, 3 new mates, a friend with a control problem and some sheriff just roped them into an investigation with ties to her sister's death.
Spoilers ahead. I only made it halfway before giving up. The grammar errors were bad enough but everything is fractured and jagged. She's strong but backs down every time to her mates. None of the wolf behavior makes sense. They treasure women but they abuse them. Women fight the shift so they're all were types not full wolves. Because only the rare female is powerful. BS. In that case several of the men should be weres, too. And as huge and powerful as Nina was in were form there shouldn't be any way a slightly larger than average wolf could take down 7'+ of muscle and fury. The days don't line up right. They get bit on a full moon, sleep it off 2 days, are awake 2 days and it's another full moon? And Nina only shifts for 1 night? Not 3? In fact, they take the unstable shifters out drinking when Nina can't control her shift and Piper is not claimed, meaning every male wolf stalks her. Add booze and this is sure to go well. Derp. Oh, and she watches the mate light break into 4 lights and tag 3 wolves. Never questions where that 4th went to. Can subdue rowdy weres but has to hide from encroaching packs hunting females. And they use floral perfume to hide the scent? Not, say, amonia or a masculine cologne? But a scent that says, "hey, female hiding right here!" Then a pixie shows up, but all we learn is that demons like to eat them. We learn supes are in some kind of war but not why, how long it's been going on, nothing. There's a trigger warning for treatment of females, rape is mentioned. Should be a warning in the blurb about this. Also, apparently Australia is hell for supes. Basically they're used for torture and rape entertainment. Definitely need warnings for this crap. The night they decide to go drinking with unstable wolves the local sheriff pops in. Speaking English. To the guy who grew up there and should know the language. In fact, why is Piper able to understand so many people in a rural area of an insular, non touristy, area? No mention of her speaking Norwegian or Sami, or any Germanic language. But, once pulled into the investigation, where, you guessed it, a rape has occurred, she suddenly becomes a crackpot handwriting specialist with an understanding of psychology specializing in killers. The only mention of any of her past is following her dad on crime scenes. Which would never be allowed unless this Earth does crime scene development differently. As in no cares about who tromps through it. Or worries about kids involved in the investigation process. Then the bit about memory suppression comes out. Oh, and they never go back to look for their friends. One was killed, but the other could have been alive or turned- but he was male so they probably didn't care. And that's when I gave up. It doesn't flow. It's jumbled up. You go from no info to dumps just to make things fit. I liked the idea in the blurb. But it needs editing, badly. First person floats to third person and back and forth. Needs some fleshing out, padding and smoothing. It could almost be broken into 2 books or a prequel- 1) her sister's death, her memory being suppressed, her trouble back home about her job and house 2) the trip, her being turned, learning about the demons in the rocks that stole her friend's emotions, finding her mates, the tie in case. The base is interesting, the execution needs some love.
The Wolf Oath was a fun romance. The werewolves were done a new way and the mystery or finding the murderer aspect was suspenseful and thrilling. I can't wait until book two!
