Doch nicht nur der Nekromant hält die Gefährten mit seinen tödlichen Fallen auf Trab, auch ER, DER ZWINGT, treibt seine eigenen Ränke voran, um Tod und Verderben über die Paladine zu bringen. Und dann offenbart sich zu allem Überfluss auch noch ein Winkelzug der Götter, mit dem keiner gerechnet hat.

47 books217 followersI was born in Krefeld, Germany in 1976 and still live there under the caring eyes of my wife and two Norwegian Forest cats. Originally a publishing salesman, I couldn't resist the lure of writing, and after over a dozen years of playing the gamemaster in pen-and-paper groups, not to mention reading hundreds of fantasy novels, I decided to finally try to write a story myself that I thought might be worth telling. And so my novel Ahren was published in Germany, the first in the best-selling series The 13th Paladin.
When I am not creating new worlds and stories, I like to relax by playing pen-and-paper and story rich video games, reading or binging on TV series. I also practise Jiu Jitsu and the art of handling ancient Japanese weapons like the Katana or the Bo Staff.

Diese Episode war ohne Zweifel kurzweilig und auch das Volk des Grünen Meers mochte ich sehr. Jedoch bin ich wirklich enttäuscht von Ahren und seinen Umgang mit Singt im Sattel. Es war schwer für mich zu ertragen, sie das ganze Buch hinüber leiden zu sehen und niemanden hat es wirklich interessiert. Ja, aber Hauptsache Special Ahren kriegt wieder ne Extrawurst mit seiner Seelenverwandten. Ich hätte es sehr viel erwachsener gefunden, hätte Ahren sich von seiner Jugendliebe verabschiedet und würde einfach mal seiner Pflicht als Paladin nachkommen, zumal er und Singt im Sattel ein schönes Pärchen geworden wären. Darum kam für mich am Ende auch gar keine Romantik auf. Naja, ich freue mich auf jeden Fall auf das Finale der Reihe, das nun immer näher rückt. Ja, und den Schock am Ende ... den mochte ich schon sehr, Für so etwas bin ich ja immer zu haben. Ich hoffe, das wird nicht schon wieder im nächsten Band relativiert. Ich gebe die Hoffnung nicht auf.

The saddest, in a way.
I have read this series from the beginning and I have love it. But. This book did something that ran against the grain of it. When Ahren turned down his soul’s companion…it ran down the worth of the story. Everyone else’s soul companion and animal got respect, but he did not give it to his. So, what is the real worth of them, that they can just be put aside so? That their every belief is following and taking strength from the gods, but his is an inconvenience to him-so just shutter her aside and get rid of her bond. All the others got to evolve, so granting her that tiny bit is just very poor to the whole story. I am deeply disappointed.

Erneut ein wundervoller Band über Ahren und seine Gefährten, der mich von der ersten Seite an in seinen Bann gezogen hat! Zusätzlich auch einer der besten Teile der Reihe, meiner Meinung nach. Wie immer konnte ich es gar nicht erwarten, dass der neue Teil der Reihe erscheint und das Warten hat sich definitiv gelohnt. Ich musste mich zwingen, das Buch aus der Hand zu legen! Wie immer habe ich mich mit den Charakteren gefreut, geärgert, ich habe gelacht und sehr viel Spaß beim Lesen gehabt.
Zum Inhalt (Achtung Spoiler!)
Nach ihren Abenteuern im Wutwald, bei denen sie einen neuen Paladin gefunden haben, machen Ahren und seine Gefährten sich auf den Weg zum Grünen Meer, um Feuer-im-Blick und den Reiterclans zur Hilfe zu kommen. Dabei reisen sie zunächst an der Grenze des neu erbauten Verteidigungsrings entlang, um nach den Alten zu schauen, die den Spiegelzauber aufrecht erhalten, der die Bannwolke an der weiteren Vergrößerung hindert. Dabei kommt die erste böse Überraschung ins Spiel: der Zauber tötet die Alten langsam aber stetig. Uldini, Jelninolan und Lanlion suchen nach einer Lösung und werden fündig, nur dass bereits damit gerechnet wurde und Er, der Zwingt diesen Zauber nutzt, um sich eine Festung zu schaffen, wo einst die Bannwolke war. Entmutigt von dieser Niederlage ziehen die Gefährten zusammen mit den Eiswölfen ins Grüne Meer, wo der Nekromant sein Unwesen treibt und zahlreiche Fallen bereitstehen. Es kommt jedoch noch schlimmer: Ahrens Seelengefährtin taucht auf und droht, sich zwischen ihn und Kahra zu schieben! Die Freunde tun alles, um dies zu verhindern. Der auf dem Weg zu ihnen stoßende Fisker versucht ebenfalls zu helfen, doch die Situation scheint aussichtslos. Am Ende kann nur Kahra das Problem lösen, indem sie sich den Göttern selbst in den Weg stellt. Nebenbei lösen Ahren und Cuhlen endlich das Problem mit dem Reiten - und was für ein Gefühl es ist, zum ersten Mal zu lesen, wie der 13. Paladin endlich seinen Wolf reitet! Letzendlich erreichen die Gefährten zusammen mit zwei Clans des Grünen Meeres Feuer-im-Blick, der sich bereits an einem Versammlungsort befindet und auf sie wartet. Nur dass er das lange Warten nicht gut aufgenommen hat und sich von den anderen im Stich gelassen fühlt. Nichts, das Ahren nicht lösen kann! Nach sehr viel Spannung und zahlreichen Schlachten gegen Knochen und neue Diener von Ihm, der Zwingt gibt es scheinbar doch ein Happy End - nur um im größten Spoiler der Welt zu enden!!!
Ich habe jede Seite dieses Buches geliebt und werde es garantiert noch öfter lesen, bis im Dezember endlich der nächste Teil erscheint. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, besonders da das Ende mich so süchtig nach Mehr gemacht hat!!
Auf jeden Fall lesen, es lohnt sich wirklich! Herr Weitze hat sich mal wieder selbst übertroffen!

Mal wieder verschlungen. Der Teil mit Sitzt im Sattel war aber schwer auszuhalten. Spannende plot twists, freu mich direkt auf den nächsten Band.

Ahren and his friends have healed the Heart of the Forest of Ire, saved the Wrath Elves and found another Paladin, the accursed Lanlion. Now it time to turn to solving the problems in the Green Sea. But first they journey on a visit of the Dwarfish forts guarding the defensive ring holding back the Pall Cloud.
Ahren has really got himself in a pickle. He has so much trouble I feel sorry for him. Plus, I’m not really sure why the youngest, newest, most inexperienced paladin is in charge. Doesn’t make sense. And I’m glad I not a clansman living in the Green Sea. I couldn’t follow their rules at all.
The ending is both wonderfully romantic and confusingly terrible. Now I have to wait until the next book is translated to English to see how this problem is solved.
Fave scenes: Culhen & Muai intimidating the cooks, Ahren up in the tree, Jelninolan’s healing container, Ahren’s first ride on Culhen and Jelninolan’s Storm Nectar

Seldom have I read such a fascinating series
Ahren and his companions once again battle to save the world, this time with the help of the clans men and women of the Green Sea. How they accomplish this, not without na great loss is a thrilling adventure in so very many ways! Tremendous story that I have enjoyed immensely! On to Volume XI!
Needless to say, I very highly recommend this series of the 13th Paladin!!!

MUST READ !!!!!!!!
I’ve read all ten and am just in love with this story. Cannot wait to read 11. Ten has by far been my favorite. A definite must read. I read a lot and Torsten has definitely created a world all his own. The world he has created is both beautiful and one of a kind. Ahren and kahra love story is my favorite of all time. If you haven’t read these books than you slipping.

Some of this is a little painful but ultimately everything works our because Ahren and Khara persevere. Ahren has to struggle against his passions to stay faithful to Khara and together they ultimately succeed. Ahren meets his soul companion and has to resist her with the help of all of his friends.

Pleased and surprised to see how the author can continue to generate new and creative scenarios to challenge these characters you have come to know and love. Entertaining and hard to put down. Always anxious to pick up the next book in the series.

Great Series
Always new problems with terrible consequences that challenge the adventurers. The characters have real personalities which blend well in to a cohesive group. There world is believable.

finally finished
I had a harder time getting through this book than usual. It seemed so slow and basically going nowhere for most of the book. Finally got through it. Hopefully next will be better.

This one started a bit slow, and it got a major eye roll from me about 1/3 of the way through at a hurdle the crew ran into. However, that hurdle ended up becoming a very intriguing storyline. I really enjoyed the end, though there were a few things I wish had gone differently.

I would very much like to reduce the number of stars for breaking my heart and shocking me. I was sad for days while reading this. But trust in Torsten Weitze to make it end heartwarmingly, i told myself. That story between Ahren, Kara and SingtimSattel? Ahhh and then one Paladin dying?

These books seem to get better and better. Just when you think you have read it all, BAM! Something new transpires. Love these books. Lord of the Rings, stand aside for this Saga. It’s Fantastic!

Team Ahren blazing a path forward
This series has been a wonderfully written epic fantasy and has been a pleasure to read. I am very thankful I found Torsten Weitze and his wonderfully woven tapestry of the Paladins!
