Jamie Tremain was “born” in the summer of 2007. A collaborative effort brought about by two fledgling authors Pam Blance and Liz Lindsay. Work colleagues who happened to share a love of reading and writing, and the natural next step was to try their hand at creating a story of their own.
Jamie Tremain has worked hard to be a visible presence in the writing community, where encouragement and support are golden.

Lightning Strike caught me completely off guard in the best possible way. I’ve read other books in the Dorothy Dennehy series, but this one hit different more emotionally intense, more personal, and absolutely gripping.
The setup is deceptively straightforward: Dorothy and her new partner both professionally and romantical, Paul Webster, are headed to New York for what should be a routine PI conference. But from the moment they arrive, things start spiraling, and fast. A brutal murder right within the circle of attendees pulls Dorothy into an investigation that becomes way more than just business.
What Jamie Tremain does so well in this book is blur the line between personal and professional. Dorothy is emotionally invested from the get go, and the way the case threatens not just her career but her sense of self is raw and real. I genuinely felt for her, especially when the police begin pointing fingers in her direction. The injustice of it had me frustrated on her behalf, but it also made me admire her even more her grit, her refusal to back down, her commitment to the truth no matter the cost.
The pacing is excellent. There’s never a dull moment, but Tremain still finds time to let us breathe and deepen the characters. HB continues to be a standout for me always reliable, steady, and loyal. And Paul this is the book where I really got attached to him. His relationship with Dorothy is so well drawn, full of tenderness and mutual respect, which only made the events of the story hit harder (I won’t spoil it, but wow emotional gut punch.
The stakes are high in Lightning Strike, not just because there’s a killer on the loose, but because the threat feels personal. Dorothy’s life is on the line in more ways than one, and watching her navigate the twists and betrayals left me turning pages late into the night.
If you enjoy strong, smart female leads, tight plots, and mystery that hits you in the heart as well as the head, this one is a must read. I finished the last page with tears in my eyes and full respect for Dorothy’s journey. This isn’t just a great mystery it’s a powerful story of resilience.
Absolutely gripping from start to finish! Dorothy’s first case with Paul Webster throws readers into a whirlwind of suspense, intrigue, and relentless twists. The tension, emotional stakes, and high paced investigation kept me hooked. A must read for mystery lovers.
