A good book to reach the halfway mark on my yearly reading goal. This series is so wholesome and comforting. It reminds me to slow down and savor the everyday moments in life, and it nourishes my cottagecore dreams lol.
'Hakumei & Mikochi' vol 8 is delightful; just the sort of cozy cute slice-of-life that I love. This volume especially is impressive, with a chapter of amazing full-page illustrations as they explore a sea-side city, a pair of weasels (and a lizard and squirrel) going clothes shopping for fancy outfits, visits with new friends and old, and a comfortable lazy evening together. The foods look as amazing as always, and it's just full of charm as they enjoy their lives; I can't recommend this enough.
Illustrations amazing. Little vignettes of life. I got this because I love illustrations of towns and cities. Miniature people and animals living together “ordinary” lives. Very beautiful. Might consider reading others in the series but I really just wanted the “city” illustrations. So beautiful!
Not as good as others. I didn't like the chapter on cigarettes' or whatever but otherwise I love reading about Hakumei and Mikochi's life. The chapter on the animals getting the perfect outfit was one of my favorite chapters in this manga.
This series is as ever a balm to my soul. This volume is a little bit more of a collection of disjoint stories, but now that the world's been established it's a lovely way of just immersing oneself in it. And that is to a large degree the appeal here: the way in which the world is so detailed and the stories such an admixture of the quotidien and the otherworldly makes it feel like a space to exist in and allow to sweep over oneself. Reading it is meditative in a similar sense to revisiting an old favorite, but it has that effect from the first read.
This was one of the books in the series that was not the best but that is rated against other stellar books in the series. This was good, but not great. But I loved seeing Hakumei and Mikochi get drunk and see how the two are so different when drunk.
this one didn’t hold my attention like the others, felt like it lost the feeling a bit and the focus on the two mains and their slice of life and adventures.
The art for this whole series is amazing. This one in particular had some really gorgeous illustrations. Also, it's adorbs to see these tiny little elf creatures getting drunk and smoking.
Read this eighth volume of Takuto Kashiki's Hakumei & Mikochi Series for Reddit Fantasy's 2023 Bingo Square Mundane Jobs, the protagonists are a tailor and a carpenter. This book qualifies for hard mode as it does not take place on Earth.

Je commence à me lasser de l'omniprésence de l'alcool... Par contre, j'ai adoré, adoré, les chapitres "s'ennuyer et se re-coucher". C'était si doux... Mon avis complet : https://elainevker.com/blog/2023/02/0...
