This is a life-changing book for those of us with multiple sclerosis- as are all of the Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis resources. In the earliest days of my MS diagnosis, I found myself wanting to understand the disease more, but it was hard to find information that didn’t make me feel overwhelmed and even panicky. My neurologist told me I would likely live a normal, active life, but I was having a hard time finding stories of other people with MS who were doing that. I also wanted to do whatever I could to slow the progression of the disease, and I heard a lot of mixed (and sometimes contradictory) messages about how to make that happen. My mom is the one who found Dr. Jelinek’s work and read both Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis and then the OMS Handbook and then gave them to me to read. As a MS patient, having an evidence-based program to follow and that has helped many thousands of people with MS to live healthy lives is encouraging and gives me lots of hope. The only issue I have is that I wish I had these books right after diagnosis.

This book is a great resource for the MS community.
I’ve read Dr Jelinek’s book Overcoming MS that was published in 2009. In that Jelinek covered lots of research on MS along with a guide to recovery for patients. In this current, 2022, book he consolidated the evidence from around the world and put together a holistic lifestyle program that he believed could completely change the lives of people with MS. In this book you will also read inserts from many people who have MS and their journey, as well as, their success in the OMS program.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was 52 years old 4 years ago. The Bafiertam did very little to help me. The medical team did even less. My decline was rapid and devastating. It was muscle weakness at first, then my hands and tremors. Last year, a family friend told us about Natural Herbs Centre and their successful MS Ayurveda TREATMENT, we visited their website natural herbs centre. com and ordered their Multiple Sclerosis Ayurveda protocol, i am happy to report the treatment effectively treated and reversed my Multiple Sclerosis, most of my symptoms stopped, I’m able to walk and my writing is becoming great, sleep well and exercise regularly. I’m  active now, I can personally vouch for  these remedy but you would probably need to decide what works best for you🧡.

Solid book overall that provides overviews, normalizing and advice on many aspects of living with MS. I do think the Overcoming MS diet is a bit oversold in this book (as of yet, there is no one diet that has proven to be best for everyone with MS); hopefully people will do their own research and experimenting on that piece, but it's not the major focus of this book.

I needed a refresher and reminder on how I should be eating, exercise, etc for my MS. I bought the book so I can refer back to it.
