Kerry So there we were. Two people as different as fire and ice. There's me. A committed, head-down-no-nonsense kind of girl who just wants to make a success of her career.
Then, there's him: a self-obsessed, arrogant, entitled, class A jerk who hangs around the water cooler flirting with my female colleagues. And I see them flirting right back at him.
Ugh! What they see in him is beyond me.
Well, beyond the hot blue eyes fringed by the thickest most luxurious jet black lashes, a classically handsome face, muscles that flex and bunch up when he rolls up his sleeves, and that flat, hard stomach (not that I’ve touched it or anything, but it looks hard in a t-shirt). Other than those God given privileges there's really nothing very interesting about him. Okay, I’ll also admit he is very, very good at his job, which is quite annoying in itself considering how much time he spends by the water cooler.
I avoid him as much as possible and I get the feeling he’s doing that too. The closest I ever get to him is when he nods distantly at me whenever we find ourselves in the same space. Which, of course, is perfectly fine with me. After all, I don’t like him.
I’m just eternally grateful I don't have to work with him. Nothing could be worse.
Then out of nowhere my father, who happens to co-own the firm with him, drops a nightmare bombshell on us.
We have to work together on an important project!
He seems as horrified as me at the prospect, but he doesn’t walk away from the project. I want to refuse, but the project is too juicy to let him steal it away from me. I’ll walk over burning coals before I’ll allow him to stall my career and all my wonderful dreams. It'll be painful, but I’ll grin and bear it. Closing the deal is all that matters.
But now that we’ve started working together I got a funny feeling it’s not walking on burning coals I’ll have to worry about. There is a reason why my female colleagues are batting their eyelashes at him. Whenever he comes near, things start happening inside my body. Wicked things, uncontrollable wicked things…
A full length steamy office standalone romance with guaranteed HEA.
Blake Coltan, co-owner of Colton and Morgan Co., and Kerry Morgan, daughter of the other co-owner, have a hate/hate (no love there!) relationship that is simply palpable. She thinks he's arrogant, rude and full of himself, while he thinks she's annoying, argues just to argue, but, darn, if she doesn't look gorgeous. Kerry is unlikable, mainly because she says she hates Blake every time she turns around, for even the smallest of slights. Blake responds with similar barbs, but they don't ring true. He doesn't really mean them, but finds himself snapping back at her to have the last word He's also attracted to her, but stays silent. When they attend a conference together, a mistake is made and they have to share a room. How do they manage this situation when there's so much angst going on! After they give in to their passion, Kerry overthinks herself and decides that they should just forget it. She was a tedious character who wasn't happy with much of anything but Blake was a good guy who deserved a happy ending. The epilogue saved the story with its sweetness and joy.

I was beyond fortunate to requested an advanced reader's copy of The CEO'S assistant, from The Bad Boy Update, in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading anything published by Ms. Rose. Always.
Blake and Kerry ignite whenever they are together. So when her father Blake's business partner puts them together on a business project neither is happy. Its not long before things become heated and they give into temptation. Things with the project seem to be going well until they have to give the presentation and everything is messed up on Kerry's part. Just as Blake thinks all is well there's another set back. Will they find out who is causing the trouble? Can they be together and still work together?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

A romantic “whodunit” Although Kerry isn’t super likable in the very beginning, she redeems herself during the business trip with Blake. He’s the CEO and in addition to being his assistant she is the major stockholder’s daughter. She works just as hard as Blake does, and he never treats her as anything other than his equal. Strange this start going wrong starting with their trip to a convention and continuing with figures being changed in the reports presented at the stockholders’ meetings. Will they figure out who is responsible before everything blows up? Truly enjoyable characters in this unique office romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Kerry and Blake hate each other and fight constantly. However, they are forced to work together on a big project and start developing feelings for each other. Sparks fly and things become steamy hot, however, they fall back into past happens and seem to be enemies more than lovers. To be honest, I actually thought that Kerry was a total B and Blake was an arrogant jerk for a good majority of the book. By the end, I did like them but can’t say that I love their characters.

Love a good enemies to lovers romance! Kerry works for her father and is darn good at her job and got ahead based on work, not family. Technically she also works for Blake, who owns the firm with her father, but she tries to stay away from the arrogant but sexy man. That has served her well until her father decides she is jut who Blake needs on the latest project! Now she has to work with him even though his presence drives her nuts, and the same for him. The more they are thrown together the more their feelings change and now they are in uncharted territory, both in and out of the office. No spoilers, you'll have to read their story! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.
I really enjoyed The CEO'S Assistant by Iona Rose. Kerry and Blake hated each other for different reasons. Blake dislikes Kerry because he believes she got her job because of her dad, who it Blake's partner in the firm. Kerry thinks Blake is arrogant and a flirt. They have to work together when her dad convinces them to work with each other on a big project. When they go on a work trip, all the tension between them finally explodes. But someone is trying to destroy their project and all clues point to Kerry. Will this bring them closer or tear them apart? Definitely recommend.
The hate/tension/annoyance between Kerry and Blake is the main point of the story and I felt it was quite funny because reading between the lines, you can feel the attraction between the two. The scenes with sharing a hotel room are great, lots of fun, and realistic to how I would have reacted In the same situation.
I liked the aura of mystery around the incorrect financials, I figured someone was doing it on purpose but it was a total surprise as to who the culprit was.

Nice and moving, but… .. It's a good romance although I didn't understand why each of them hated each other: Kerry and Blake seemed to me, at times, as arrogant then the other and to each other. Kerry can even sound like a condescending woman. Their story is predictable at times, however, despite this, it is a good romance, steamy and moving thanks to the author's style. Blake sees Kerry as entitled rich girl. Kerry sees Blake as a shallow jerk. But when Kerry's father, who's Blake's business partner, assigns them to work together, neither is happy about it. But when Blake gets to know Kerry better, he is smitten. Kerry flip flops and that makes her a bit annoying, but eventually she becomes more likable. Overall, the book is well paced, steam, compelling characters, and well done.
I received an ARC from Bad Boy Update and this is my honest review.
Kerry is a determined career woman who dislikes her father’s business partner & CEO, Blake. Unfortunately, they have to work together on a huge project for the company. As they begin to put their animosity aside, their attraction to each other begins to become apparent. Enjoyed this easy read which has just enough friction, heat and a little bit of suspense.

Kerry works for her father's company and also his hot and annoying partner, Blake. They spend each day winding each other up despite being physically attracted to each other. Kerry's father sets them working together on a project which seems to be being sabotaged. Circumstances throw them together when they attend a conference. But after their return their project still seems to be in trouble with all the problems seemingly caused by Kerry. Hot and steamy read. Read an ARC from Bad Boy Update for an honest review.
A really entertaining, sexy and fun story with very likeable characters in Kerry and Blake!!
A really entertaining, sexy and fun story with very likeable characters in Kerry and Blake. Story was engaging and captivating. A great read, loved everything about this book, from the characters to the great engaging storyline, this was definitely a great read. Looking forward to reading more by this amazing author. Happy reading everyone 4 1/2 stars ⭐️
Very standard office romance story. The title was deceiving. Kerry was partnered up with Blake, the part owner. Her father was the other owner. She was a higher-up in the company. She was there to help Blake. She was not an "assistant." There was no "Oh, we can't because your my boss." He really wasn't. Good romantic tension and some great banter. Romance moved quickly, but it was a fun, light read.
Overall I thought this was a good book. The writing was well done and the storyline fun. I liked Blake a lot but I can't say that I was a fan of Kerry's. In fact, if I'm honest, I found her annoying. The chemistry between these two was easy to feel though and there was no denying the steam they generated. I am electing to post a candid review.
The author has pulled us into the lives of Kerry and Blake and does not let go. They each have misconceptions about the other and when they have to work together on a big project, sparks will fly. Will they be able to see the true person underneath?

Blake and Kerry have a hate/hate relationship. He’s part owner of the company they work for and Kerry’s dad is the other owner. The sexual chemistry is so hot it’s going to steam up your glasses. They have to work on a project together but they get more than they bargained for in this roller coaster of a read.
This story could have been done in 10 pages. It was literally 90% thoughts by the two main characters. There wasn’t much lead up of enemies before they became lovers. Woman was shallow and both characters were uninteresting. I’ve come to expect so much more from this author. Highly disappointed.
I was loving this book the journey with Kerry and Blake the tension between them was electric but as it went on it felt rushed. Have to say I’m a little disappointed it could of been a brilliant book
Such a good read, finished the book in less than 24 hours. The love/hate relationship between Kerry and Blake is relatable but so is the sexual chemistry/tension. I do love a HEA and this was a sweet one.
I enjoyed the book a lot! It was sassy and full of chemistry and funny! I Definitely recommend it and looking forward to reading other books from this author!
While the books was long enough the ending was a little too easy to pick. The suspense could have been drawn out a little longer. But all in all good book
