Part Two of an erotic romance by Molly Sands, 'The mistress of femdom literature.' (Amazon USA)‘You don’t really want me to take charge. Or, if you do, you’re not brave enough to let me. You want me to play at it, that’s all, but I’m not your doll, Philip, I’m not some toy you can switch on and off when it suits you. If I’m going to take charge of this marriage, I’ll do it my way, and on my terms, otherwise the whole thing’s a charade. You’re an intelligent man, I’m sure you understand that.’Philip may have agreed to Laura seeing the charming and mysterious John Garra but, now that she has, he retreats into a state of anger and hurt pride. But Laura refuses to let him hide from his true nature. Relying on her instincts as a newly dominant wife, and determined to win the freedom to see John again, she subjects her husband to a day of such fierce and sustained discipline that Philip fears he may never be able to live as a free man again.‘If you lack the courage to live the way you want, I most certainly don’t,' Laura declared fiercely. ‘And so from this moment on I’m going to insist on your obedience. I agreed to take charge and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. It’s an executive decision, I’m afraid, Philip. There’s no going back and there’s no room for discussion, none at all. I hope I make myself clear.’Shocked, Philip lifted his head to tell her he couldn’t possibly live like that — it was more than any man could bear — and yet he remained silent. Trying again, he opened his mouth to speak, but once more he didn’t make a sound. It was as if she truly had cast a spell over him, overwhelmed him with her confidence and sexual energy. Her proud, steady eyes gazed at him fearlessly, and her hands were back on her hips in the way that always made him weak at the knees. A shiver ran through him, bringing with it the delicious drowning feeling he’d come to crave with the hunger of an addict. It was all he could do not to fall at her feet. Dropping his gaze, he abandoned any hopes of challenging her, giving in, not only to her female power and beauty, but also to his own deepest desires.
‘You can’t even look me in the eye,’ she said witheringly. ‘How can I respect a man who can’t look me in the eye? But it’s not my respect you want, is it, Philip? You want something else altogether unless I’m very much mistaken.’

A reviewer commented that he slowed his reading for Molly Sands books. I did the same and it enhanced the experience.
Her books are heavy on the dialog and are perhaps more like a film script in places, often giving the effect of conversations happening in real time in front of you. This installment was only around 50 pages in length but it seemed much longer, and no doubt this was due to the revealing nature of this dialog.
Previously I found "The Devlin Woman" series the best and would recommend that as a starting point, but found myself enjoying "Learning His Place" even more. It seems to contain the best qualities of her previous writing with some added intrigue. Nearly all of the books involve a couple in a long term relationship, usually married, and though the activities are kinky, they would fit in the softer "loving domination" category, maybe femdom romance. This one is spiced with something a little darker and it serves to make the narrative all the more interesting.
It's done subtly, the incremental pace and psychological insight into the characters making the development seem natural. Despite what is being described, it is feasible to imagine this actually unfolding as presented. The wife's sexual dominance begins more as a form of roleplay, however as time passes and she meets another man you feel it inevitably spill into their normal lives. With a more attractive alternative in her life, the husband dissatisfies her, and his struggles with her actions and his own sexual nature cause friction as well as a potential for further levels of domination. Toward the end of part 2 we see her making a deliberate decision to lead the relationship and advocate femdom in every aspect, giving the husband an ultimatum to stay or leave.
If you like Molly Sands you're sure to enjoy this, if you haven't read her before I would recommend.
Part 2 is as intense as part 1. It is explosive . I couldn't wait to read part 2 , and it has only whet my desire to read part 3 when it comes out. Don't want to spoil it for anyone else. Just read it, you won't regret it.
