"But right now it was making me feel that I was living one of those dreams where you discover you’re in a play and everyone knows their part but you. Also, you might be naked."After a disastrous (but actually quite productive) round of fake-dating, Oliver and Luc are finally together. And just as they reach the milestone of togetherness...everyone starts getting married.
And what can the poor couple do but attend wedding after wedding while barely having time to examine what it means to be married and if they should take the plunge together.
"There was a silence where you would very much hope there would not be a silence."
Sooooo, I freaking loved Boyfriend Material and I enjoyed most of Husband Material.
"His thumb traced gently across my knuckles like we had all the time in the world and nothing mattered more than this conversation right now."
That being said, this one did feel more serious than the first - with Oliver's eating disorder on full display along with his anxieties and his overall feelings his orientation. I did appreciate the examination of these situations but also at times, it felt like Luc was pushing too hard for a narrative he wanted.
"Oliver was using his you're-being-mean-to-me-and-I-secretly-like-it voice, which was just different enough from his you're-being-mean-to-me-and-I-very-much-don't-like-it voice that we'd avoided some major misunderstandings."
