A Friends to Lovers, Shifter, MPreg-Possible Love Story.
Dyer Becker and Hunt Lane have been close since they were babies. Hunt's immediate obsession with Dyer from the first moment remains the same through childhood, adolescence and into the early years of adulthood. So, living these last three years on separate land masses has been torture. Video calls and twice yearly visits is just not enough. But now Hunt is back in Purdy and staying with Dyer until he figures out where he wants to go next. It's amazing being back together, but are the touches lingering a bit? And does the scent Hunt catches every once in a while mean what he thinks it might? He should be excited about possibly finding his mate... right?
Bearly Getting It is book 1 in the my new MPreg-possible series. It is a spin off of the Chosen series, and involves a whole new generation, but will of course have cameos from some of your favorite Chosen characters as well as some Terra Mortis characters. I consider these books MPreg light. Meaning, though pregnancy is possible, that does not mean it will be in every book. Each book contains a new couple with a guaranteed HEA, but if you want to know what is going on with the background plot, it is suggested that you read them in order!
Cute and short, I think reading the “Chosen” series before this one would have been a smart move. I think I would enjoy this book way more than I did, since there were so many characters that came up and were talked about like you should already know them.
To me this could have been a tad longer… but it was entertaining for an hour or so.. haha
I was so excited about this new series by JD Light about the babies from the Chosen One universe and if this first book is anything to go by, I am looking forward to the rest. My two complaints are actually compliments. 1) I hate waiting for the next book when the first one was so good! 2) The Chosen One universe is so expansive that it can get a little confusing as to whether some characters are old or new. But I still wouldn’t change that because each book in this series has been delightful. There is no such thing as too much of a good thing. Keep ‘em comin!
YES! Another serie from J. D. and another great start! This author is my absolute favorite and every story from them has everything my heart craves. This time clueless and sweet shifters and as always sexy times! And that these two are kids of my favorite couples from Chosen series is a cherry on top! Can't wait for next book!
This was a fun friends to lovers story with a little bit of intrigue to kick off another fabulous series by J.D. Light. As always, her characters are lovable, quirky, and just so much fun to get to know. We also get hilarious glimpses of last characters we know and love! I look forward to what promises to be another great series.
Hilarious, cute, and just all around awesome! Hunt and Dyer were just too cute, Beebee! It was also fun to see some of the previously mated couples and Briec and Laramy! Also, spoiler, Bennett's still calling Davis his son, and now he has a granddaughter! I just loved Bearly Getting It, and cannot wait for more of this series. JD Light rocks!
Best friends to fated mates.... Oh yes please! I am so excited for a whole new generation of Chosen and their mates. This one had the humor, sweetness and heat that makes JD Light books one of my favorite retreads. Low on angst but high on fun!
She’s done it again. Another great book that has you laughing out loud and falling in love with all of the characters. Can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.
This book was amazing!! Just like all of J.D. Light's other books it kept me on my toes and fully invested until the end!!! Cant wait to see what happens next!!
This series is a spin off of Chosen and Terra Mortis. It takes place decades after those two series and follows the children of the Chosen and Terra Mortis series. Your typical fated mate trope, mpreg (honestly can't remember if there is anything specific in this book, they all kinda blend together). Mindless entertaining fluff. Low to no angst. Not alot of typos.
Sweet and fluffy start to the Chosen spin-off series. Hunt and Dy are so very cute together, how they stuck to their schedule and prioritised one another before anyone else. The only thing that niggled on me was the fact that I would have been a bit miffed or felt cheated in their place. Although I can see that they are just happy to have found one another and be together. But, they had an advantage very few people have, to grow up with your person. But because they didn't have the opportunity to smell one another at least while at home or in private they didn't know who they were to one another thus could not seize the opportunity to be another's firsts and thus onlys. But that is just how it is and doesn't make me like the story and series less.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Everyone knows you are mates, except the two of you!
Another Chosen novel! Long overdue! I have been waiting for this. I love this series. This continues in the Chosen & Terra Mortis universe. For those of you familiar with this world, you are in for a treat! For those of you newbies, prepare to be blown away. The threat to the Chosen is a step closer to being identified. The crazy men of the leap are back. Leopards, bears, a crow, turtle, and more. Two agencys dedicated to the protection, rescue, and rehab of the Chosen. New twist... the Chosen marks start glowing. Hunt has wanted Dyer since he was born. His Beebee. As they grow, Dyer wants Hunt, too. They become inseparable. Everyone knows they are mates. Everyone except Hunt & Dyer! Once they finally realize the obvious, their mating has an unforseen consequence. One that will bring hope to other unmated Chosen. You will love this book! Yes, this is a spin- off. So I recommend reading the entire Chosen series. It is 30 books long, but it is So-o worth the time. I can't wait for the next book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
First I want to thank the author for introducing the world that they built over two series to the reader in the beginning. I can’t tell you how much of a turn off it is for me when there is a spin off of a series but the only way to read the new series you have to read the past series. I don’t think authors realize that not everyone wants to read past series for different reasons. For me when that happens I’d rather not read the spin off then. So I appreciate that, I also appreciate that when past series character show up it doesn’t confuse you. It peaks your interest just enough to maybe consider reading about them, but not enough where I couldn’t understand the book I’m reading. This was a good best friends to mates. I love the reason why they never new before. I love how everyone figured they were and they were the last ones to know. I really loved the love they had for each other and how they loved each other not because of being mates also. There is something happening in this town. Great writing, yummy smexy, and the side characters were a hoot
Going about twenty years into the future, this new series focuses on the children of the Chosen and their Shifter Mates from the original Chosen series. There are even characters popping in from the Terra Mortis series (my favorite). The Bear son of Bennett and the Leopard son of Ridley are best friends. And they might be more if either gets the courage to drop their scent hiding necklaces. But while they want to be more, desperately, they are also afraid of what would happen. If they weren't. But a powerful witch is hunting this new generation of Chosen. And the only way to save them is to find their Mates. JD Light has taken a wonderful series and refreshed it. If book one is any indication, this is going to be a funny and enjoyable series. Maybe even better than the original.
This honestly made me want to go back the the chosen series!
I can just picture a tiny Hunt being possessive and protective of his Beebee. Both Dyer and Hunt were cute together, and quite perfect for each other in my opinion.
I look forward to tiny little Hyers running round and Bennet being his usual crack head self.
I recommend reading this book but I'll go a step further and recommend reading the chosen series as well and the terra mortis series. Both are a perfect blend of comedy and romance.
Jd Light always knows how to capture your attention with her witty hilarious characters, sugar, spice and everything nice..
This story had no action. It's light and fluffy with no angst. I don't expect that to be typical of the series, considering it's in the same world as Light's Chosen series and Terra Mortis, but maybe it'll be lighter than the Chosen series just because people don't want anything too serious right now.
Light always has some humor in her stories, and this book is no exception. The characters are fun even if they aren't all sweet and nice, like the protagonists are in this book. I enjoyed this story a great deal, and look forward to the next one!
Oh my goodness I forgot how crazy Bennett can be lol! Hunt & Dyer are perfect for each other! Best friends who started to feel something more but didn’t realize it was the mate bond pulling them towards each other! This was such a sweet and fun short story and I enjoyed it very much! With this new series comes a whole new set of problems for the leap house but they are a family and they will get through it together! I can’t wait for Presley and fields story!!! 😀❤️
Fans of the Chosen series will love this. Not so much as a continuation of the series, but now we are getting to see the children of the chosen grown up and finding mates of their own, as well as getting glimpses from their viewpoint about the parents and extended families first introduced in the chosen series. I am so glad J.D. Light decided to revisit this series in a unique way.
Om it was so good to read this story. I love the chosen series and it was great to read about old characters and new. Beebee and Hunt are perfect and with a witch putting tracking spells on the chosen it gets interesting. I loved this story and am excited to see who the next book is about. Can’t wait I give this book a A+++
I've missed them... So so much! A world without Bennett and Briec is a sad world indeed and to come back with a new series involving my favorite characters as well as new characters and grown up Gizzards just makes my year.. Can't wait for the next one! Might have to go back and read all of chosen and terra mortis books again just for fun!
This book was a great friends to lovers book with some appearances from characters from the Chosen series. I really love JD Light’s books, they are sweet and fluffy with just a small touch of conflict thrown in to make the plot interesting. All in all, they are books that you can lose yourself in when you’re having a bad day and need a pick me up.
This sweet and heartfelt story revolved around Dyer and Hunt who were the best of friends but later realized that they were also mates. I thought that it was so cute the way Hunt had called Dyer his Beebee ever since they were babies. It was also fun seeing some previous characters again. This was such a delightful read.
So much fun to be back in Purdy and getting to know the next generation of The Chosen. This book is about Ridley's son, Dyer, and Bennett's son, Hunt, who learn they are more than just friends. Someone is still hunting The Chosen, and our friends from Terra Mortis pop in to help. It's everything I've come to expect from J.D Light.
Dyer and hunt since child I loved it, his bebee ❤️, sometimes what u want is right in front of u, and for some stupid reason u are in denial, so stop that, and accept that ur suspicions are correct, deep down u knew. I absolutely love revisiting with Briec I loved her so nice to find her in this story.
Dyer and Hunt have grown up together and missed each other since Hunt moved away three years previous for work. When he moves back, they pick up where they leave off as friends, but soon, there's more than friendship both of them want. It's a sweet read and when the two men discover they are mates, nothing holds them back.
Love Dyer and Hunt! I am having such a hard time with names but hopefully they will all click together soon for me. There are a lot of characters but I enjoy that. Hunt and Dyer are still the main focus along with some set-up for the next books. Light has built an amazing supernatural world with her Chosen, Terra Mortis and CREA series. Can't wait for more!
