From the moment I found Kennedy, she was destined to be mine. Then she was gone without a trace. I don't know what sent her running, but the one thing I did know is that I wouldn’t rest until I found her. All I cared about was getting her back. And I would do exactly that, no matter what it took.
Kennedy
Losing your memory is scary. Especially when you wake up alone and realize there’s a baby growing inside you. I have to stay strong for both of us, whoever we are. Still, in the back of my mind is a man who makes me feel so many things I don’t understand.
Then he's there standing in front of me. Some tell me I should be wary of billionaire Dane Osborne. I find it hard to believe that he’s in love with me.
But he still keeps saying those three words that have me wondering if I should be running from him or to him. "You are mine."
When You Are Mine was recommended in a FB group and since I love amnesia stories I knew I needed to read it. Unfortunately this book didn't work for me at all. For starters it's too short, it was lacking with the cheezy dialogue, no real story development and writing that I didn't connect with. I would not read any more books from this author.
Started off promising but I’m not a fan of how fast everything moved. I think this author writes for people that don’t have much time to read and I can truly appreciate that but even the steamy scenes moved way too fast.
Authors lately have pulled out all the stops!!! The WOW factors having been slamming !! Loved loved loved Dane and Kennedy. I hope the kids get a book.
A sweet romance with a couple which comes from different economic backgrounds, then proceeds to have loads of family drama due to a murder attempt, amnesia, secret pregnancy, family drama and a super heartwarming HEA. Most of the characters were well written and likable, and the villains got their comeuppance.
This novella was full of that kind of obsessive possessive man that I love so much. It was a genuinely good read that I’m sure I’ll enjoy again.
Read 2: Ended up giving this one a reread because I never took on the entire series. I finished book one and this one came up. I didn’t remember much about but since I five starred it I decided to give it another read. Still really like it and love how crazy Dane is. It was nice getting to see more of Fawn and Roman as well since I just finished their book.
This book was really a wonderful read for such a short story. An amnesia/second chance story with a super sweet heroine and an over the top alpha male. The storyline was great and pretty original with some suspense elements thrown in and definitely gave me the feels ❤.
Love this one! These two are in love! Too bad something happens and she doesn’t remember who she is. And she’s pregnant! Where’s the baby daddy? Is anyone looking for her? No worries, this one ends with a great happily ever after that will leave you wanting more. And more is what it seems we will be getting in the near future! Yes!!!!
Lucy Darling is one of my favorite authors. She is consistent, always delivers a story full of emotional punch and steamy swoon.
Dane was an awesome alpha hero, wild for his woman, possessive and possessed, TORTURED, by an unrelenting drive to find her. And when he does—-whooooo boy!!! FUEEEEGOOOO!!!
Nothin is holding him back, and he’s never letting her out of his sight again. And I adored how Kennedy’s softness and sweet innocence was a powerful force to tame him, soothe him and temper his rough edges. And I loved how even tho this was a short story, it had layers to it: Kennedy’s commitment and compassion for her work in the shelter she found herself in, her attachment to a lonely and unloved little girl who needed someone to rescue her. ALL. THE. DAMN. FEELZZZZ!!
And I SOOOOOO want the kids to grow up and have a story of their own! Because that would be epic.
Hero’s past isn’t mentioned, implied that he wasn’t a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin. No ow/om. No abuse or cheating of any kind between MCs. HEA with epilogue.
2.5-3 Stars. Rounded up based on their family size in the epilogue . I was so looking forward to this. I like Amnesia but it's not a Trope I jump on. But Amnesia and Pregnant, heck yes! I'll be honest I skim through parts of this book. In the writing style didn't evoke any sort of feelings, there were times where things progressed or happened and you had to think about it because there was no transition. The way things were worded or phrase kind of felt more like Point form or summarizing as opposed to telling a story. This is the type of book that you read in the grocery store lineups or waiting for an appointment to kill time. Had so much potential, but sadly there's short stories and novellas whose characters have been more fleshed out and more continuity and emotion written into it than this one. It could also be that the book I just finished, Fatal Obsession by Drethi A., was excellent and I was kind of hoping for something similar.
Really loved this book. It’s got a dominate H whose possesive and controlling and worships the ground his girl walks on.
-bit of mystery and drama ( h is hit in the head and gets amnesia and doesn’t remember anything or anyone) -H never gives up on finding her -no stupid drama like blaming h when she disappears bc he knows that’s out of character for her. -“secret” preg (he doesn’t know she was before they were split) -he’s controlling and possesive and i LOVE IT. -not dark, written well
Mystery, a baby, and amnesia! This is a wonderfully entertaining novella. I loved it.
Dane's obsession for Kennedy knows no limits, and he makes her his despite their social differences but loses her to a disappearance. Poor Kennedy ends up with no recollection of her injuries nor her baby's daddy's identity.
I ate this story up in one big gulp. His tormented obsession over her whereabouts, her vulnerability in the shelter, their explosive reunion, the care and compassion for children and women in peril, and a suspenseful plot around their relationship that his family disapproves of.
It's all filled with hot passion, sweet protectiveness, baby hormones, and a lovely ending that nonetheless includes a big surprise. I want that story told, lady!
Plot: Kennedy is a maid in Dane's family's home, but the two of them are in love. Kennedy wants to keep it secret, but Dane does not. He's ready to tell his family about them, and he's already asked her to marry him. But then she disappears, and Dane searches everywhere for her.
Commentary: The fact that one of the villains was the mother was not surprising (although she seemed so shocked that they considered trying to pay off Kennedy as bad); what was surprising was that the other villain was . I liked that Dane believed Kennedy without reservation, even against his family. That made his searching for her extra-sweet because the ending was always going to be the two of them - love conquers all.
Decided not to finish this. I started it because it had a baby in the story and it was right after that train wreck of an ending for Virgin River Season 3 and wanted a HAPPY baby story. But it was just a bit too OTT for me, which if I recall correctly was the same for another Lucy Darling book I read of hers.
It was cute. AFTER I turned off my alarm signals. I’m sorry but If I were physically assaulted, lost my memory from the wound, were pregnant. I would NOT simply jump in with a guy that claims to be my fiancé. I would need to do some digging. Even then, I would remain solidly placed behind security until the fiancé proved his trustworthiness. Because, HELLO SOMEONE TRIED TO KILL YA!!
+
HELLO! YOU NEED TO PROTECT YOUR BABY!
The heroine did not have any such inclinations.
In the end that is alright. It was silly rationale that drove her, but a silly I enjoy.
The H was absolutely tortured over her going missing, which was even better (I know I’m a nefarious and very naughty person for enjoying another person’s woe 👹. No regrets.)
———————————————————————————— RATINGS:
Plot : 2.5 📚📚💫 Some + some more. Family sometimes doesn’t turn out the way the Fast and Furious franchise wants you to think it does. Most of the time, family is like a novella you can’t turn off. Loud, insistent, mildly entertaining and just a bit murderous.
World Building(Immersion): 2 🌎🌎 Dipped half my body.
Angst : 1.5 👹💫 Slapping the mosquito dead and scratching the itch.
Funniness: 1.5 🌝💫 Amused.
Scariness: ❎ Not scary.
Romance: 3 💖💖💖 Aw, it was cute.
Spice: 3 🌶🌶🌶 Explicit, but not a big part of the story.
Goriness: 1.5 🫀💫 Description blood and wounds +some mild violence.
Sadness: 1 🥲 I know the author intended for me to feel something, and I almost did.
Overall star rating : 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enjoyable but there were somethings that fell flat.

The Talking Place:
▫️I loved that they adopted Faith. I read her story before I read the parents story. I liked that I got to see her a kid with her would one day be husband. The innocent love and care between them was so cuteee.
Romance Safety:
Safe. The H’s past is not mentioned (we are led to think he was promiscuous). Virgin h. H and h are in love, with only each other. Epilogue: married with biological and adopted kids.

Some ( Very Random) Moments of Notice Along With (Sometimes) My Very Live Reactions Straight From My Notes App to You:
📌 I know without a doubt Dane isn’t the person that hurt me. Call me naïve or whatever, but I feel it down into my bones. From the moment he found me he has been nothing but sweet and protective.
At least you are self-aware?

Kennedy has lost her memory and she's also told that she's pregnant. Without any recollection of her past or even her name, she vows to stay strong in order to provide for her baby's future.
She finds support and friendship at a shelter for women and children, all the while pining for love.
mmm mmmm mmmm!!! I love a good amnesia book, but even better when the girl wakes up not remembering anything and PREGnant! The H was great too because hes a bulldozer and rich. both of my favorite things haha! the end was gettinga little slow since the only thing not resolved was who did the actual "thing" at the end but all in all, i loved it
I was not sure this was going to be a romance when I started reading the first couple chapters. Kennedy definitely deserved a happy ending and true love story. I loved this story. Good writer
