Zyan The golden dragon is lost. He doesn't know his name or where he belongs, only that he must follow this inebriating scent to its source...a human female called Gillian. He doesn't know why, only that she is important to him. When he learns the terrible truth of what his kind has done to Earth, he knows he must make it right. He also knows that Gillian is his.
Gillian Betrayed by her people, she is sold to the aliens to become a host for their parasitic species. The process will leave her mind destroyed, the same as dead to her. The golden dragon arrives just in time to interrupt the process. He rips open her cell and carries her away in his dragon claw. Gillian is sure she is going to die but in a different manner. She hates dragons, but when Zyan shifts to his humanoid form, she can't deny her attraction to him.
The lack of communication between the characters was SO FUCKING INFURIATING. I swear I wanted to scream. If this book isn't a prime example of holding back critical information (G/Z liking each other, G being Z's mate) causing problems -- to the point where all emotional conflicts in the story would literally have been resolved with said communication -- than I really don't know what is. I was just so frustrated to the point that it took away/didn't let me properly enjoy reading the world-building/main conflict in the book.
"I knew I should have stayed quiet. But I couldn't. I was too scared". Gillian is betrayed, sold and on the way to becoming a breeder when she is rescued by a golden dragon. But her horror at seeing the beast slowly changes as she comes to realize that what lies on the surface, is not necessarily what lies beneath. Will she trust that fate has other plans in store for her? Will Zyan be able to prove that he is worthy of her emotions?
This series just keeps getting better and better! These are definitely better read in order so you get the amazing story line as it progresses. Can’t wait for the next one! Write fast so many options for future books! That grumpy healer needs to be brought down a couple of notches. Can’t wait to read his story. And of course the black dragons royal brothers, yumm, don’t make me wait long.
The FMC was a pain in my ass. Thanks to her abrasive character and depressive way of thinking, I didn't enjoy the story. The rest was OK. But about the dragons characters, I saw their interaction distant and cold between each other. Maybe the chemistry was not good.
The writing continues to remain imaginative, somewhat believable, and still keeps my attention at a high level. I continue reading, seeking the next sequence of events which these couples endure and conquer, while keeping their love at a high level. Read this series!
Just another absolutely Phenomenal book from T.J. Quinn. I love how it shows what happens if you mess with his mate. Hearing her in pain he will move heaven and earth to get to her.
This was a very good book and make me laugh and cry along with the characters! I would love to see what happens with the king and if Gillian gets pregnant...
Oh gosh, this story was so good. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. The complex natures of the characters were the best. Loved the story line and I simply cannot wait to get the next book.
Love this book. With dragons and other assorted aliens the earth will never be the same. Although this book could be read as a stand alone it is much better if you read the first one
So far this series has moved me to different heights in paranormal reading. It amazed me how totally different species could coexist and become lovers. The flow of these booms a were awsome.
Zayn a golden Dragon shifter has lost his memory but may have found his fated mate. Gillian is on her way as either a breeder or a host for the nasty parasites and much mayhem ensues.
This book was a little harder to get through then the first two. I enjoyed the story but I did not like the FMC. She annoyed me 75 percent of the way through this book.
