Alex has zero interest in any of the fated mate garbage, and Lars can't change his mind.
Alex has always wanted to be a warrior for the king. Since he was a cub, he has known it was his destiny. But with his pack settling down and a certain half-wild, giant of a shifter breathing down his neck, he is struggling to find his place in the new life he didn't ask for.
Lars and his brother Hans spent most of their lives together, just the two of them, as wild wolves of the north, but the lure of a mate made them give up on their peaceful and private existence, drawing them back into the pack life they had abandoned for good reason.
When trouble arrives for their new pack, Lars will stop at nothing save his fated mate and protect the pack he has sworn to protect.
Chase is an gay fated mates romance that is best read after the first in series titled "Shift".
Alex has no interest in a mate. His aim is higher than that – he is one of the youngest warriors in their pack. Training occupies his time. He has no desire to be a “suburban house husband”. He immediately knew who entered the room, but he would ignore him until the day he died! He was living his own life. He got off the treadmill and turned to scowl at Lars. Despite Alex’s developed muscles and 6’2” frame, the new pack member was twice his size. Despite his wolf being restless, Alex would not give in.
As Alex returned to his room, Lars was next to the door and tried to stop him, saying they needed to talk. He snarled at him and told him to leave him alone, not realizing his pack leader was behind him and heard. Alex went on to dress for dinner, not able to hear what Lars and Luke were saying.
Lars’ brother Hans was upset at Alex rejecting Lars, but Lars was patient. The mate that Fate chose for him was everything he could want and would be a wonderful parent to their children. So Lars continued to be patient, a day at a time, letting Alex set the pace for their eventual mating.
Evidence of hunters was found. A nasty steel trap was chained to a tree. Alex was appointed to be in charge of Security and he made a schedule for around-the-clock searching. But there was no scent for some reason. Nothing was found on the morning shift. But Lars and Hans went out in the evening and were attacked, a crossbow shaft puncturing Lars' lung. He woke up in a cage. With no scent to follow, Alex led the pack to find his mate, letting the bond between them guide him. Would he find Lars? Or would they be too late to save him from whatever those men were doing to him?
This is an incredibly awesome story line that will keep the reader deeply invested in the story. The first half will show the reader the personalities of the pack members, their caring for each other and loyalty that never ends. Then the human hunters, who enjoy causing pain to the shifters, raise the tension and concern as they take Lars captive. Grab your copy of this exciting book and see if Alex can track them down and find his mate.
2.5 ish. This author needs to look at getting an editor, or even a beta reader because more editing needs to be done. I noticed a sliver of improvement, but not much. There were minimal mistakes in the beginning, but about 20-25% through, they just kept popping out of the woodwork everywhere I looked.
The story felt rushed and as much as I enjoy insta love sometimes, I didn’t feel that it worked very well for these characters considering Alex’s hesitations with taking a mate and settling down.
Also again with the mpreg… ughhhhh. I know it’s part of the universe and I have come to accept that, because it doesn’t appear any of the MC’s will be getting pregnant during their books (fingers are crossed this is the case). But Alex doesn’t seem like the character to want children, let alone to be the one to “carry” them, yet he does a 180 and suddenly part way through, he can see himself doing that? Nah, I don’t buy it.
I think I’m going to trial the next book when it comes out. Here’s to hoping the author has more editing done.
OMG...Loving this shifter series so far. Just getting in with book 2 and the pack drama is getting to be addictive. One stubborn young wolf and one patient older wolf equals a slow burn romance between the fated couple. Alex is fighting the connection but Lars isn't giving up on the young fierce wolf. So this was definitely a page turner to see how long Alex will hold out and if Lars patience would run out. We get some thrills and chills of pack violence but we also see pack love and family. There is no epilogue because the drama is ongoing...not really a cliff hanger because things end on a good note but I can't wait til the next story.

You can run, but I will enjoy the chase more. Alex is disappointed by the end of the war and the pack being reassigned from serving as warriors for the King. He is upset that Lars and his brother, Hans are now pack and apparently Lars, is his mate. He is not ready for a mate and settling down. He spent years training as a warrior and didn't want to lose that. Lars is Alex's mate. They both know it. Alex, isn't ready for his personal or professional world to change. He runs from Lars. Lars is ready to wait. He is ready to wait for Alex to at least acknowledge him/them. There is a new enemy stalking the pack. Will they find the enemy? Will Alex handle protecting the pack? Can Alex handle all the pressure? Nice story. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was so excited to see the second book to The Blue Moon Pack series. I had absolutely enjoyed the first book, Shift, with Charlie and Luke. I was hoping there was more of Charlie and Luke. Though they only had appearances in the second book and new main characters are Alex and Lars, I also fell in love with Alex and Lars. I'm looking forward to Javier's story. Of course I'm hoping with more of Luke and Charlie.

Although, I really don't like human hunters in my shifter stories (too cruel) and I don't like it when one mate rejects the other, this book did do a great job of holding my attention. It took a while for me to warm up to Alex, but I loved Lars and I would have appreciated them having more precious moments together instead of so many negative experiences with one another. I enjoyed the style of writing and I did love the characters. Looking forward to the next book. Hopefully there will be a bit less grief.
What happens when you find your mate but the are reluctant to accept you?
Lars and Alex are destined to be mates. Alex was not too sold on the idea. Lars displayed a level of patience towards his mate with the hopes he'd eventually come around. Sometimes things happen to make you fall into the arms of your forever, whether you want to or not.

Alex has worked hard to get where he is, Lars didn't have the easiest start. Alex doesn't want to be locked down. Will Alex take that chance? Will Lars get what he has always wanted?
Have to say at times, I wanted to smack Alex upside his head, but at the same time I could see where he was coming from. I loved Lars' patience and how he was determined to not push his mate too far. Good read!

Alex is stubborn and doesn't want to give in to the pull of being fated mates with Lars. But Lars is patient and will chase Alex. This was a really good, well written, angsty romance with some pack drama thrown in.

Lars finds his reluctant mate in an angry Alex! Alex is not looking for a mate because he has trained to be a warrior not some lovey dovey mate. Things change that causes him to do an about face in his feeling and that's when the action starts. This is a great addition to the series and you will enjoy reading it!
The storyline has a few intense moments with some dramatic slash-and-kill scenes. There are two fated mate events, one which resolves favorably and one which segues into the next installment. This book has a positive finish but does not end the series.
Uhg, what can I say I was struggling to find something to read. I wouldn't recommend these. I've read three and they just never hit a point of true depth or interest. They are better than some books but if I could give a 2.5 I would.
Fast read but not a lot of build up. Predictable but easy read. Better than the first book. I don’t think i will read the next book due to the dynamics of the new two main characters.
Alex was a spitfire and there were times I didn’t think he would ever come around to accepting Lars.
Lars was nothing but determined and patient. He genuinely believed his mate would eventually accept him.
Lars and Alex had a rocky start but things became real when the unexpected happens. Alex is forced to accept what his heart already knows.
I’m looking forward to reading Javier’s story. His little wolf had been through so much and the surprises kept coming. Javier has a tough journey ahead and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.
