If you like horror movies, the next best thing is horror comic books. If you like crime novels, you’ll like the 3 Ellery Queen stories here. Unless you browse through the book, you will not know there is a classic comic pulp Charlie Chan story, Murder On Ice. The setting is New York city! The bonus material is just fair. Good quality paper that should last a life time. Credits are given to the stories that may not have been given before. The only problem with this book is that the reader will be finished with it in no time at all! Some of the horror titles: The Living Ghost, The Werewolf Stalks, Haunted House, The Banshee Bells, and others. Ellery Queen titles: The Kane’s Carnival Case, The Adventure of the Coffin Clue, The Corpse that Killed.
Though the stories themselves are trite, and the artwork is lacking, this is still a fun collection of classic "pulp" comix, a mix of horror, including ghosts and haunted houses, and detective tales. Filled out with a few flash fiction stories and full page artwork, this collection is a neat look at what comics used to be, before superheros stole the show.
