SIGMA: as life sums it all…

Rate this book
"SIGMA – as life sums it all" is first of the books in the author’s trilogy on Karmic behavior. This is a collection of fast-paced short stories that are inspired by real characters in the author’s life – the kin and the dear ones who broke away from the path of righteousness! SIGMA is his first work of fiction, but the driver in this book remains the same as his previous technical books – analysing and working on (managing) the ‘cause’ to improve the ‘effect’! Philosophically, SIGMA is about the cause & effect relationship between the intent & deeds (cause) and its Karmic retributions during an individual’s lifetime (effect)! The author believes that when you see your acts, and the reckonings thereof, in a short time-window, you will tend to take short-cuts. But when you would stretch the reference time duration of reconciliation to a full life-time, you would realise why one should always be virtuous.

As you sow so you reap, there is a strong correlation between what you give and what you get in life. Sigma : As Life sums it all is the first book in Karmic Behaviour trilogy. It is a collection of seven short stories through which the author has showed how Karma works and there is a cause and effect relationship between deeds and it's Karmic retributions during an individual's lifetime.

All the short stories are very well written, with a nice plot and effortless writing style. All these short stories are very engaging and while reading you just forget that it's a short story and not a full length novel because you get so immersed and involved. The theme is that of Karma but if I put it in a less noble manner, then you can also see these stories showing that often the best revenge is no revenge as life itself works quite fairly and gives everyone what they truly deserve.

This book is a collection of short stories that are of people around us. Sigma (meaning large sum 'as life sums it all' ) is a very thoughtful and creative name for the book as it perfectly fits. The stories all revolves around it and were realistic in a way that we all can find ourselves relating to them.
Those stories were deep, insightful and bound by 'karma'. My favorite is definitely 'Evil'.
The narrative and writing style was simple and easily understandable, all the stories were fast paced and engrossing.
Overall, a well crafted book that I recommend to those into short stories.

Amazing!!!

Do you believe in KARMA?
Do you believe what goes around comes around?

When this pandemic arrived the humans realised and said that we are getting the result of the things we have done to this nature.... What is that called??
That's called Karma.

SIGMA is a book with different stories of different people from different places. But every story in the end has a common thing which was the Karma. All the stories are fast forward and by the incidents over life of the characters in story the author shows the power of karmic reactions. Sometimes we be happy that we are living our life without any problem even after hurting others but sometimes an innocent related to them may have to suffer for their deeds with them. It is not important you experience scarcity of material things instead you experience a very basic and vital thing in your life because of your actions that is MENTAL PEACE. People are concerned about their career, relationships, finances in future but no one is concerned about the future results of their actions. Will they slip through unaffected after hurting someone??
Will they never get anything for their empathy and good karmas??

Honesty, if a person analyses oneself he will get the answers of all these questions

A must read !

With the rising pace of writers and their amazing work, readers like us feel really excited and enthusiased to read the fictional stories and imaginations plotted infront of us.

But what if a story is based on such realities which happen in our surrounding? What if we all find and can relate the story to personalities in our real life?

That's exactly the work of Pankaj Lochan in his book, "SIGMA, as life sums it all".
This book deals with the impact and action of Karma in our lives. It makes a person introspect his own life and deeds and creates a chain of thought about their action.

The seven short stories in this book gives you a clear idea about the consequences of the day to day work and actions that we perform.

How people treat you is their Karma, and how you react is yours.

A must read and enlightening work by the author.

A Compelling & Introspective Read: Life is a boomerang; what you give - you get!

"I swept across the much crowded road, not caring for the traffic; for I was playing the most defining game of my life--from these roads to riches." [Evil]

"Hinduism had always been an all-inclusive way of life but she never understood its larger meaning." [No Answers Found]

...Statistically sweeping 'Sigma' sleuths into short yet sincere reflections of life around us that we live meanly, leanly, keenly. In a nutshell, these stories and their characters in the skin are akin to our very own grey shades that we hide or are secretly ashamed of.

Pankaj Lochan, through his scientific-sigmatic observation, has subtly removed that fake cloth or skin, we all flaunt with false pride. At certain spots in his stories, he almost strips you and demolishes your curated facade.

Constantly, Sigma stresses that we mortal beings are full of flaws & fractured mindsets; right from the first saga of 'Manikarnika Ghat' to the last narrative of 'The Gains'. These seven stories like the intrinsic & ritualistic Saptapadi (7 steps) of the most ceremonious conclave, brazenly step by step manifests the inhuman side of humans. While each character exposes us, they also discount us with a summed up residue or solace that we aren't Gods and Angels after all. Alike our old-established excuse; To err is human...

WHY YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?

If you are looking for an honest story, the characters next door or revelations close to your own life that pinches you and hits you brutally. Then, you are holding one of the best books for your library/kindle. I glided through the book, page after page, para after para & word after word, with unbroken continuity, lucid tone and with no-sweat English There's a strong hint of Indianness all through the stories despite a few imported backdrops.

One more bit. Don't read it if you are not a fan of simplicity, connections, compassion and the fabric of human elements, and are fashionably scouting for some perplexing Shakespearean English soaked in an art-film script. Not meant for you.

It's a unique take on walking through the lives of human masks with honesty and an open heart. My take on writers' non-fictional conclusive message through this first of the fictional Trilogy to readers: Your life is nothing but a boomerang; what you give - you get, invariably every time.

Throughout the text, stories caution on the notion of “dominating-demons” over "dominant-destiny" and for the most part, means dark-shades or low-vibration entities that latch on to characters energetically and bring pervading pain and conflict.

The book invariably and genuinely connects the author’s past lives, as experienced and processed with the stories like a glue that bound me as a reader all through the narration. Though interesting—and rustically rendered, with a vivid portrayal of characters, situations and more beautifully the feelings —the stories give you a shiver and sensation of the crude side of a self-seeking life. On the flip side, the story titles don't necessarily connect with each story.

Passion for compassion over the subject matter - SIGMA, is evident throughout. The resultant tone is empowering and conversational. The inclusion of Karmic-Behaviour through the earthy storyline and their cultural isolation is also novelly refreshing.

Inferentially, Sigma throws light on what Christ Jesus: said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". The writing is not only captivating but also one could conceivably read these stories with the same drugged passivity with which one turns through a lifestyle catalogue. Its omniscient narration propels the book, providing insight into Pankaj's thoughts and feelings.

Sigma is a bouquet of jigsaw pieces that resemble our lives and explores the importance of community, connections & compassion and the overwhelmingly alluring power of being good and spreading goodness, else balancing acts of nature is inevitable. Sigma seems to offer many personal accounts and references of the author from his life but this collection of stories is like the cardinal 7-Commandments.

In essence, it necessarily leaves a philosophical, spiritual and moral message on the self-help shelf, that we can always count on.

Nice collection of Stories

With the rising speed of scholars and their stunning work, perusers like us feel truly invigorated and enthusiased to peruse the anecdotal stories and minds plotted infront of us.

Yet, consider the possibility that a story depends on such real factors which occur in our encompassing. Consider the possibility that we as a whole discover and can relate the story to characters in our reality.

That is by and large crafted by Pankaj Lochan in his book, "SIGMA, as life aggregates everything".

This book manages the effect and activity of Karma in our lives. It causes an individual to introspect his own life and deeds and makes a chain of contemplated their activity.

The seven short stories in this book gives you an unmistakable thought regarding the outcomes of the everyday work and activities that we perform.

How individuals treat you is their Karma, and how you respond is yours.

“Just because he did wrong,
don’t judge the world,
for he shall pay for it!
Just because he got away,
you shouldn’t do wrong,
for you too shall pay for it!
For whoever does wrong, his way or yours,
shall pay for it!”

Karma is a boomerang, no doubt. Here, this book is a collection of seven short stories, that reflect the action of karma in people’s lives.

All these stories are so realistic and we may have to encounter many such people in our day-to-day life, who are in the rush to fulfill their own selfish needs or have already fallen prey to their karma.

The book clearly shows that how jealousy, greed, anger, arrogance, selfishness, and ignorance ruin a person’s life as karma begins to hit back. It also forces us to have a check on our deeds.

The stories are fast-paced with lucid language and smooth narration. They are thought invoking and convey some important messages. Overall, it is a good light read, ideal for short story lovers.

The book " Sigma " has been written by Pankaj Lochan . This book is all about life and as we know there is a fact " whatever you do returns to you " this fact is very well described in this book . This book is a collection of seven short stories which are meaningful and delivering life lessons at the end of it . According to me , this book has its own importance in this society because world has forgotten it's humanity . All of us are just chasing materialistic dreams and for that reason we are harming the mother nature and our very own brothers and sisters too. The author has tried giving a message to the society through this book and the message is strong enough to question your ownself . The work of Karma has been very well described in the book. This book will help you introspect your deeds and actions for the society . The book is really well written and the cover is beautiful . Hence I will like to recommend this book to everyone .

It is a collection of seven short stories that are inspired by real-life incidents. All these stories are bounded by the common theme - the role of ‘Karma’ in a person's life.

The first and the best story (according to my opinion) is based on the concept ‘the good returns to you but the bad still burns’. And the last one ‘The Gains’ raises an interesting question - ‘you think that you have grown from your gains, but didn't you lose many that you left behind?’

Similarly, all of the stories are highly insightful and thought invoking. They are relatable and you might have even found a similar story in your surroundings.

The book teaches you a lot of valuable life lessons, that make it a must-read for everyone. It is properly paced and well-narrated in lucid language. I would love to recommend it to everyone as it really worth the time you give for it.

These stories are so real that it feels so connected and heartfelt like you just know these things are happening so close, I absolutely love the way narration has been done, the stories have been kept forward giving away to imagination and picturization in the most beautiful sense. Some stories might relate to you some might feel like aliens but what keeps it all going is the connection that it makes while reading, all the lines in this book did that for me.
It might seem emotional and touchy at some levels, but doesn't go over the board with it, the connections are still kept and this is what makes it beautiful for the reader while reading which it did. I like when stories are kept real because they form a real connection with one self . If this is the first part I surely can't wait for the other parts .I really liked the no answers found.

Sigma - " as life sums it all"
by Pankaj Lochan

As a person I strongly believe in Karma . One surely pays for both his good and bad deeds. Author has very beautifully with the help of seven realistic stories explained the concept of Karma and that is actually works. The story has elements of cruelty , ego , jealousy , greed, arogance , selfishness and all such things which makes a person to do bad things and bad for others but later has to pay for it.
You must read this book as it will teach you many things and will make you a better person. Language used is easy to understand and narration done is very well , stories are neither too long nor to short and is interesting to read.
Much recommended

SIGMA: as life sums it all… by author Pankaj Lochan is a collection of seven interesting stories.

Stories are weaved to retariate the tagline of book "Short stories about the people around us, their deeds and karmic reckonings. Each story is unique, from different background of people, stages/walks of people. Readers can relate to characters easily and in some cases/ instances relate them to readers own life happenings. Lines under each story title are powerful and apt. Lucky are those who get to see the complete act of karma in one's life, people now a days are too busy, don't have patience and want immediate results. Hats off to the author for penning such nice stories, inspiring readers to be and do good.

Enjoyed reading each of them, would recommend to all.
