Tenderhearted Sam’s entire life changes when he becomes blind. Despite a falling-out years ago, it is up to his childhood friend Nick to help him. Nick is able to aid Sam with his guide dog, but will he be able to earn a second chance at love? One day might decide.
Skylar M. Cates loves a good romance. She is happy to drink coffee, curl up with a good book, and not move all day. Her novels feature strong and passionate men. Skylar loves to craft stories where realistic characters are challenged with emotional situations. Although lately the laundry room is the farthest place she has visited, Skylar loves to chat with folks from all around the globe.
Two childhood friends meet again but one finds sad changes. It's a touching story but also moving as one wants to do all he can to help his now disabled friend. A short, sweet, heartwarming tale.
This is a great premise but I needed more. Maybe there is too much here for a short story format and a novella would have been a better choice. As a result I felt like I didn’t get enough to satisfy me. Does the relationship work out in the real world? How does Sam work with Teddy? They don’t live in the same place…what happens with the relationship? What does Sam do for a living now? I feel like a read a chapter out of a larger book instead of a complete story.
Such a sweet story. I would love to read an expanded story to find out what happened after their first night of reconnecting. Sam and Nick had such a strong connection that fizzled like many childhood friendships. It is because of a tragic accident that they meet again. I wish this had been a longer story though.
