True love always finds a way to thrive… and there’s no better place to heal from a wounded heart than in Cody Bay. Cody Moore has always believed in the magical healing powers of Cody Bay, and in the gentle ocean breeze, she hears her grandmother’s voice: Cody Bay is where lost souls come to heal and find their way again.
The inn is fully booked for the summer, and Cody has guests in both of her cottages. With her life finally back on track and her children well into their teens, she feels that she’s exactly where she needs to be.
12 years ago, her life fell apart, and it was her grandparents who urged her to move back to Nantucket. If she’d ever doubted their feelings about the healing pull of the island, now she was sure.
So when the man who tore her life apart arrives asking for her help, she knows she can’t turn him away. Every one of her summer guests is meant to be here. Every one of them has wounds to heal.
And like it or not, that includes Christopher Stanford.
The Moores and the Stanfords have a history that began long before Cody and Christopher ever met, but her own life was ripped apart by this man… and him arriving on her doorstep brings up a whole lot of past she’d rather forget.
But life has its own plans, and as Cody’s family bonds with the guests, it becomes clear that it isn’t only the past that has arrived on the island: it’s also a string of mysteries… and there’s a lot more at stake than any of them realized.
In order to put the past behind her, Cody must open herself up to the truth… and that means delving into secrets long since buried.
Will Cody give love a second chance while mysteries unravel around her? Can she open her own heart while love blossoms amongst her guests?
Escape into the mesmerizing beauty of the Atlantic coastline, and be instantly drawn into an inspirational cast of characters who are set to steal your heart.
With brave and kind-hearted teenagers, heartbroken adults, and a menagerie of loveable animals, you’ll find yourself as invested in the search for healing and happiness as Cody is.

This book was a confusing long drawn out saga. I forced myself to read 1/2 and I could go no further. Too many dramas going on and pretty predictable. The author jumps around too much.
"Don’t be afraid to open your heart and let love in again. Life is all about chances, and you’re not really living if you don’t take any."
(Note: it does help a bit with the background to have read the prequel but not imperative to have done so)
Cody Moore runs the Cody Bay Inn on Nantucket after returning there some years before following a divorce. Cody Bay has always been a healing place. Old relationships come full circle. Can they take a different, better turn? The question is can the spirit heal when the situations overwhelm?
I feel Amy Rafferty is an author to keep an eye on. Writing "clean" romances, she challenges you to enter into her world(s) of gentle people in challenging situations as we eagerly await the next in the series. Highly Recommended 5/5

There is a lot going on in this book. It requires attention to detail to keep all the characters and stories straight. They all come together in the end. I LOVE IT!!! In a lot of books you have to wade through all the romantic encounters to get to the real story.I am sure I am in the minority here but that all just distracts from the story. A good author can write without needing all that to fill in. But that is not what I wanted to tell you. This is a complex story of intertwined lives and loves. Mysteries from the past come to light and are solved. Relationships shatter are beginning to mend because of things that have been brought to light. Lovers are reunited at least for a time. It is the most enjoyment I have had from reading for a long time. I have just finished the fourth book so I thought I should get caught up on reviews. I hope you will give this a chance and enjoy it as much as I have.
Cody Bay Inn is a magical place where the trouble can find healing and hope. It is owned and run by Cody Moore who inherited it from her grandparents. Cody is a wonderful caring person who has overcome many challenges in her life and is still experiencing more challenges daily. The Inn is a welcoming atmosphere where the guests can relax and refresh, and where good overcoms bad. There is mystery, suspense, misunderstandings, romance and reconciliations. This is a wonderful book from start to finish and the reader will want to check in for a summer of relaxation and any needed healing. I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Just finished Starting Over in Nantucket. Amy Rafferty, once again you never let me down. This was an awesome beginning to the series following the prequel. I love Lana and Carter. I love the work they are doing for sea life. Cody has worked so hard to get her life together after her divorce only to find out that there may have been reasons for Christopher's behavior. Will Cody and Christopher be able to mend the heartbreak of 12 years? Will Grace and Aiden be able to forgive their father? Will Lana and Carter have their wedding and save the Sea Life Rescue? Will something or someone change the lives of these people? Only reading on will tell. Amy Rafferty you have done it again.
Great start to a new series! Love the setting of Cody Bay. Wish I could go and check in tomorrow! Ms. Rafferty has several other series that I have enjoyed and this is no exception. This is a longer book than the other series and I really enjoyed it. We get to know the characters better and come to care for them more. There was romance, mystery, drama, tragedy and hilarious animals! What more could you want? Really looking forward to reading more about these people and uncovering more of the mysteries. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Although I sometimes struggled to remember who was who, I really enjoyed all the subplots and happy endings for the gods guys. I learned enough about marine life to want to visit sn aquarium soon. I hope all the bad things that happened to the marine life were hypothetical! There were several punctuation and word mistakes, as well as the fortunately infrequent use of the non-word ALRIGHT, which is totally ALL WRONG. The real spelling is ALL RIGHT, with TWO separate words.
I enjoyed reading my first Amy Rafferty book, "Starting Over in Nantucket." There were a number of characters in this book, so I had a hard time keeping up with who was who. Sometimes it required me to go back a chapter or so to refresh my memory about who someone was. Even with that, I did enjoy the simmering love between Lana and Carter and am looking forward to seeing what happens in the future for Cody and Christopher. I did find a few errors in wording, but I guess that can happen in any book.
This sweet, contemporary romance has a HEA. In fact there are a few HEAs that make it feel a bit too much. The storyline is okay. There are the broken families and corrupt corporations that have to be dealt with. In fact there are a lot of characters and couples to keep in mind. I found this book geared to the teens and young adults who find the dramatics, histrionics and an overload of medical emergencies as a normal, engaging occurrence. All this emotional angst was a bit too much for me.
This is the first book in a new series. If this first book is anything to go by it’s going to be wonderful. Cody Moore inherited the Inn from her grandparents. It is said that the bay is magical. In these chapters we meet the people of Cody Bay and the Marine Life Center. There is some mystery, some deception and some romance. Enjoyed this book immensely.

This is starting out to be my favorite series by this author. My heart started pounding from the first page and then the twists thrown in made my jaw drop, right up to the surprise cliffhanger at the end. If you enjoy beach reads with suspense, The Cody Bay Inn is the series for you. I can't recommend it highly enough. I am excited to see where this story goes. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
This is an amazing book!!!!! Love, pain, heartbreak, forgiveness, family, and second loves. You will find it all at Cody Bay Inn, a fabulous place I would love to visit. Sit back and enjoy the tumultuous goings on in Nantucket with the Moore family and new friends. I cannot recommend this book highly enough - fantastic, fabulous, exceptional, intriguing, romantic - it's all here at Cody Bay!
I received an ebook from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Cody Moore inherits Cody Bay Inn from her grandparents who raised her after her parents were killed in an auto accident. Her grandmother always said that the right people find heir way there and leave renewed and healed. There’s a conflict between Cody and the Stanford’s, plus romance and a mystery. I fell in love with the characters, especially all the animals at the inn who were all needing homes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I received a free copy for my honest and voluntary review.
What did I just read? Such a confusing read. I’ve never felt so frustrated reading a book. Many times I had to go back and reread to try to understand what is going on and making sure it’s still the same characters because the author jumps from characters to characters. Don’t get me wrong, the story line is interesting but when getting into the book,I was pretty disappointed. I don’t know what it is but the high rating of this book needs to be re-evaluated.
Great book. Can’t wait for the next one. As usual, Amy Rafferty keeps you involved and you don’t want it to end. There was a lot of anger, laughter and renewed love and lots of characters to keep track of but that’s what keeps the readers involved. I am not good with reviews but you can’t miss this series.
A cute start to a very long series - I mainly was intrigued due to the long series that started in summer and went into fall and Christmas. But for a book under 300 pages there were way too many characters and too many different plots going on. I wasn’t super into the location and the passion of marine life, and I think I would’ve liked it more in a different setting that I’d relate to more.
Love this story! The prequel is excellent too. Just enough to make me want to continue reading the next story. The characters are flawed, but have compassion and love, are hurting and healing. I love the setting with the marine life! Can’t wait for the next book!
So excited for the rest of the series; This book was so full of everything! Highly entertaining! Hard to put down! Cody, Christopher, Lana, Carter and all the kids involved were fabulous! Great book!
I loved this story from Amy. This was a longer version of her normal serial books but definitely worth the read. To be able to read the interaction of a few different groups and seeing them work through mysteries and problems. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
I read the prequel first and loved it from the first sentence. I was hooked purchased book 1 and just finished it could not put it down also purchased book 2 & 3 can not wait to start them I highly recommend this book to everyone and the prequel Dorothy Schaefer
An entertaining story with lots of angles as the story unfolds. Quite a few honorable characters as well as some very unsavory ones. I enjoyed this book.
Just finished this series, I thoroughly enjoyed these stories and recommend them! I am thankful for the family trees that were at the beginning of each book. They were very helpful for me to keep track of all the characters.🤓
Super cute story line. I dont know if I got an unedited version or what but there was a bunch of printing errors that almost detracted from the reading. Somehow found myself jumbling up characters through the very end but somehow even with all that, it was cute.
Enjoyed this book a lot. It was refreshing to read about sea animals and how they were made a part of the main story. It was different and very informative. I have a new author to follow and add to my list.
