Evil Cliffhanger
Eee-viiillll! That's what I think about that cliffhanger. It is pure, adulterated evil! 😱👿😧
I really want to hate Tracy Lorraine almost as much as I want someone to beat Luca senseless but I can't. I'm ashamed to admit that even as angry and disgusted as I got occasionally, I just couldn't walk away from what she created with her broken heroes in this series, most notably Luca who I mostly liked in Letty & Kane's story. Sure, he was moody by the end but this? He's really upped his game in the sport of assholery.
Luca seriously needs to be brought down a few pegs. I suspect that Peyton will easily hand him his ass on a platter, metaphorically. There are enough clues to sort out where this is headed but the journey is bumpy as hell with insane twists - like an unexpected weekend in a pool house.
As for Peyton, we get glimpses into her life, past and present but there are so many holes it makes Swiss cheese look smooth. I want to know what's in the backroom of Fee'sand just how depraved was Daddy Dunn? I have more than a few suspicions and hate that I have to wait another month for the deets. 😞
Be warned. There is definite dub-con and some unlawful imprisonment, plus the hints of a past event that's far worse.
This is the first in the Peyton & Luca duet. The author suggests reading Letty & Kane's story first (it's a trilogy with a prequel that should be read) and I'd agree with her recommendation. You could skip it but there are plenty of barely explained references. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Luca just pulled a Jekyll and Hyde on our ass, y'all! I had no idea all of that was hiding inside the sweet, loyal, QB I've come to know and love. Trust me when I say, this book was NOTHING like what I expected, and I think most readers would agree. Luca took several pages out of Kane's book in this one, but I have to say, it worked for me!
Luca is stressed to the max, and when he runs into Peyton, his childhood best friend, he knows exactly how he's going to relieve it. He loved her dearly once upon a time, but she ruined it all with what he believes to be a lie. She left town shortly after, but now that she's back, he's going to make her pay for her fabrication and what it did to their relationship.
Peyton made me want to shake her at times for allowing Luca to treat her the way he did. She knows he is in the wrong, but yet she allowed herself to be subjected to his bullshit. I gave her a pass though, because she eventually said enough is enough. She wanted to give him a chance, but he blew it. Now it's time for him to get on his knees, and I really hope I see him there in the next installment.
Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with Luca for a lot of reasons, but I'm firmly in Peyton's corner on this one. That surprises the hell out of me too, because I adored Luca in the first three books in this series. That just goes to show how different the Luca we see in this installment is from it's predecessors. It also shows how much the author made me feel for Peyton.
Overall, I enjoyed act one of Luca and Peyton's story, and I'm excited to find out what's coming next in The Destruction You Desire. All I know is Luca's grovel game better be strong! I hope we get to see a glimpse into what Leon's deal is, too. He's way more mysterious than his brother, and I can't wait to find out more about him! Thankfully, I won't have to wait long, because TDYD releases later this month!

Audio re-read. The first time I read this I’d jumped to it instead of reading books 1-3 first. This time I enjoyed this so much more. The vengeance you crave is a duet so this bad boy isn’t over quite yet.
Luc is ruined when it comes to Peyton. The secrets and mistrust between them turns love into something twisted. Luc can’t stay away from Peyton but can he keep his hands off her?
Peyton is trying to survive in her situation the best she can. She has a chance for a new beginning but she finds her past is close.
This book is entangled with the history of books 1-3 and a lot has gone on. The vengeance you crazy is a bully romance with a stalker theme. Luc’s relationship with Letty isn’t a huge theme but you need an understanding to appreciate his head space. This is a second chance romance for Luc and Peyton.
I enjoyed this book. The Dunn family are an intriguing one and I’m hoping to get more of their dynamics as the series progresses.

Tracy’s continuation of the MKU series, with a brand-new hero and heroine was as gripping as I’ve come to expect from her work. Luca was an intriguing character in the first trilogy within this series, and to be honest not the most likable, but I wanted to learn more about him, and the girl who would bring him to his knees.
Luca’s all over the place. He’s the star quarterback of MKU, who’s season ended in tatters, he’s got the pressure coming from all sides, from the university and his father, all on top of losing his best friend to his enemy. But nothing rocks his world more than the reappearance of his childhood best friend, and first love, Peyton, years after she moved away. Ever since she betrayed him in sophomore year of high school, he’s never been the same, and he makes it his mission to make her life hell. When Peyton realises she’s back in the same town as Luca, the boy she loved and opened up to as a teenager, she knows she needs to steer clear after how things ended. Desperate to keep her head down, earn some money and get her degree, she tries to blend into the background, but it’s not that easy. Luca and Peyton are pulled into each other’s orbit, fuelled by hate and lust, and the possibility that what they had all those years ago could be brought back. But when it’s obvious that it’s not going to be that straightforward, especially as it’s clear from the start the Peyton is hiding something big from Luca, how will he react when he finds out?
Luca wasn’t my favourite character in the first three books in the series, I just didn’t click with him because he seemed like an entitled jerk. But Tracy provides way more of a backstory to him in this book, and you learn why he has become the bitter playboy that he is. The pressure he felt from his father was crippling, and the only calmness he felt was when he was with Peyton, as much as he tried to fight it. Underneath the hard exterior, there was a broken boy who needed to be loved, and he always thought the person who would do that was Peyton.
Peyton was trying her best to keep everything in her life together, and in the process almost burning out. She wants to have the college experience but also has bigger responsibilities and hasn’t got time for Luca’s games. I liked how she was firm but fair with him in the end, because although she gave in at the beginning because she thought there were signs of the old Luca, once it was clear there weren’t she stood her ground, which I admired. Her love and care for her family was above anything, even if it meant keeping their secrets and sacrificing her own happiness.
There is so much miscommunication in this book, which I have come to expect from Tracy’s work, because that’s how she builds the angst and the drama, but I do find myself at times just wanting them to have a conversation and not just believe everything at face value. Luca and Peyton have a long way to go before they can have any kind of happiness together, they need to find it on their own first, but after the bombshell cliff-hanger ending, I doubt that it will be easy. I can’t wait for the conclusion of their duet!

Well, my wish was finally granted, I finally got my hands on one of those Dunn Twins 😏 (Sorry guys I'm still team Leon though, got special love for him 😍)
I was so hyped going into this, I went in full steam ahead and mmm mmm I was not ready for it! We know Tracy can write a damn good bully romance, she's the Queen of bully, but Jeeeeeeeez this was something else! My mind is blown!
Look, let's be reasonable here, we know Luca can be a bit hot headed and stubborn, we saw PLENTY of this with our beloved Kane Legend, but I always saw him as a bit of a big Teddy bear, the guy who would buy Letty cupcakes and the guy who was the life of the life of the party being Panthers QB#1! But this dark side to him that we got, the raging inferno fuelled by vengeance, was something I couldn't ever prepare myself for. Uh excuse me Sir, WHERE HAS SWEET LUCA DUNN GONE?! AND CAN WE BRING HIM BACK?!
Let me tell you, Tracy did not skip anything. We got darkness, bullying, anger, angst, steam, more so than we've ever had before from MKU.
Peyton though, what a babe! She came hurtling back into Luca's life whether she wanted to or not. My heart hurt for the girl who loved and lost her best friend all those years ago, and for a big part of the book she seemed so fragile and weak whilst Luca was letting his rage out on her. I wanted to tell her to snap out of it, but she didn't need me yelling at her, she did it all one her own, and it was epic! She didn't just find a backbone, she found all the strength and took back the power and I was here for it! 💪🏻
Leon was a saving grace, the voice of reason and the twin who can control his temper enough to try and right some wrongs. Swear I am borderline obsessed with him!
Ok look, this is your pre-warning, the ending is CRIMINAL! 😩 Tracy sure knows how to keep us on our toes and after you read this you'll be itching for the next book, which we now begin our impatient wait for 🤦🏼♀️

This is getting more and more dark, intense and angsty. It's only the first book of Luca and Peyton's story and it's already a roller coaster ride of emotions. Their chemistry was explosive and the push and pull were oh so good. And that cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the second book to their story!

A return to the MKU world, but this time it's for QB1, Luca Dunn. He's a man under mounting pressure, trying to live up to his father's expectations while making sense of his own life which seems to be spinning out of control.
When Luca's old girlfriend returns to town after being gone for five years, the only person to ever hold his heart, but smashed it when she left. All the pressure he'd been feeling finally explodes and all of the pent up rage, anger, and aggression explodes all over his ex, Peyton, the girl who ripped out his heart when she left.
When Peyton left Rosewood five years ago, she has missed Luca every day since, but when she comes back to town and she sees Luca for the first time she meets the angry man in place of the boy she was once in love with. Where she once thought she could be friends with Luca again, she now doesn't see much hope of rekindling any kind of relationship with the angry, bitter Luca.
Peyton has a lot on her plate with finishing her degree, working, and helping out her family to worry much about making amends with a broken Luca, but no matter where she turns, Luca seems to be taking up residence and he's making her life miserable at every turn.
Luca is a bad, bad, bad boy and certainly not the hero in this story. Like a lion with a thorn in his paw, he lashes out at the girl who broke his heart years ago and doesn't hold back for anything. There is a completely dark side to the golden boy we've previously met. This is a man who holds secrets and grudges and has a deviousousness about him that once he lets out is highly delicious.
Peyton is someone who seems like she'd be a good fit for Luca, but she also holds her own secrets. She certainly knows how to work a room full of rowdy, drunk men so she isn't weak and I like her spirit, she doesn't just roll over and give up.
I love the connection between Rosewood and the prior MKU students and I really can't wait to see how the cliffhanger plays out in the next part of this duet. I have a lot of theories running through my head, but Tracy always throws in a good loop so I'm really excited to see how it all plays out and more importantly how Luca and Peyton are going to come out in the end.

Plot Summary :

Luca wasn't the same sweet boy as he was before. Now he was colder and he would teach her the repercussions of betraying and using him. He will break her like she broke him once.
Starting over was the only aim Peyton had. The last thing she wanted was to run into the only boy she had ever loved . The one who discarded her and didn't believe her when she told him the truth. So no, luca was not getting anything more from her. Because this time has had much more loose and getting sucked into his games might be the ending of them both.

I have been waiting for Luca ever since I finished Kane's trilogy! I knew he was going to be one hell of a cold bully hero and he stood up to all my expectations. Damn, Tracy Lorraine is spoiling me with these books by releasing them so fast 🤣. They are the best!
Luca and Peyton have one hell of a chemistry and history which makes them down right explosive when they come together. Past secrets and betrayals make it so hard for them to forgive each other and from the way they destroyed each other, I think their path to redemption will be even more tough than what I think.
The whole storyline is pretty amazing and I am totally addicted. The scenes are good and the cliffy is so bad 🥺 I want the next book right now!! I would definitely recommend this duet to all the dark high school romance loving people out there. Luca and Peyton are the best and you'll be addicted to them before you know it!

OMFG! I don’t usually like to start my reviews this way. You know, I like to build up the tension and hook you to read more then leave you hanging so you’ll feel inclined to download the book as quickly as possible. (ha, I try to anyway) BUT I had to start this review with HOLY CLIFF HANGER! I thought I knew what the plot twist was going to be, and I mean now I’m questioning myself because, again, HOLY CLIFF HANGER! No joke, my jaw is on the ground! I MEAN, WHAT?!
Ahem. Ok, now that I got that out of my system. The Vengeance You Crave is the fourth book in the Maddison Kings University and is also the first book in Luca and Peyton’s duet. Thrown straight back into the world of possessive, asshole anti-heroes and the all-consuming anger they just love to throw at their leading ladies. To be honest, I did not expect this much cruelty and cold demeanour from Luca. I’m not sure why, but it completely blindsided me. And you know what? I’m not even a little bit ashamed to admit that I still love him to death, but it was a bit touch a go there for a while.
From the very first page I was HOOKED! I’ve no doubt said this before when describing my reading experience with Tracy’s books, but I devoured this story in a matter of hours. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! Sorry for all the shouty capitals but I’m still reeling from that this masterpiece.

Although friends in the past Luca and Peyton were torn apart. Years later and they meet as enemies. The pain of the past, merging with the distrust in the future. However, there is no denying the brutal attraction they still harbour. This book has off the charts chemistry and even though Luca is forceful in his hate for Peyton he still wants to protect her from everyone else.
They really need to have a conversation instead of letting the events of the past dictate the future. There was an epic cliffhanger which I'm looking forward to seeing resolved in the future.

To be honest, Luca drove me crazy in the first 3 MKU books. I wasn’t a fan and really felt like he just acted like an immature a-hole. My dislike was So much that I wasn’t thrilled that these next couple books are his story.
But I love when authors smack me in the face and say “you’re wrong!” Haha And that’s exactly what Tracy did because I LOVE this book!!
Luca is still our angry QB, but as we learn it’s more that just about Letty and Leon, I’m much more intrigued. He has so much more depth than I ever imagined and his pain is palpable. He’s a grade a alphahole, which let’s be real is HOT as heck, but he’s also so much more than that.
Peyton is a woman with secrets, but will stop at nothin to make a better life for herself and her family. She works hard and tries to keep to herself but finds that she’s smack in the middle of Luca’s world.

In this book, Luca stumbles upon Peyton working as a server in a sexy sports bar (actually owed by Luca’s dad). Peyton and Luca grew up together and were childhood sweethearts. The pair had their whole life planned out and believed they’d get their happily ever after. One day, Peyton tells Luca a secret and he calls her a liar. Shortly after that, Peyton and her family leave town. She’s returned 5 years later and Luca is not happy to see her. The anger and feelings return right away and he’s out to punish Peyton for the past.
The Maddison Kings series continues to be one of my favorites. I was wondering how Tracy was going to possibly top the relationship of Letty and Kane in the first three books of this series. I was blown away with this book. It does end on a cliffhanger and I may have shouted expletives and threw my kindle (lightly) when I finished the book. I love this book. Luca is an alpha hole if I’ve ever seen one. I think the man himself could rival Kane for the title of biggest a$*hole. Luca is going through so much in his life and he’s looking for a bit of a release. Peyton is the love of his life from his past but he doesn’t want to believe the “lie” that she told him when they were teenagers. This was his forever person and you can tell that the feelings are still there. Now Peyton has grown from a young girl into a woman and Luca just can’t help himself. The need to possess and own her is just as powerful as his need for vengeance. Peyton is a wonderfully written character. She’s gone through a lot of trauma in her life and returned to her home town so that she could pay off debt and provide for her family. For her, the love and the feelings for Luca never really went away. Will the pair of them survive what Luca has in store for her?
Honestly, I love this series. If you’re a fan of dark bully romance, then you’re going to love this book. You don’t necessarily have to read books 1-3 in the series to read Luca and Peyton’s story; however, I strongly recommend it. Only because they’re amazing and will give you some additional context as to what issues Luca struggles with.

This is the time for Luca and Peyton's duet, and yes that cliffy hurts, make sure you read them all as there is the background story to the characters you don't want to miss. I love-hate Luca, he definitely is a jerk and a moody one too. I know I'm going to finish loving him as I do with all the jerks I read but you know what I mean when you read this book. Peyton is one hell of a character, I am loving her so much, but there is still so much to discover, can't wait for the next one!

This book is amazing!! Tracy has once again written a fab book. I really enjoyed reading this and I think it is a great start to their duet.
I think Peyton is a great character who is very strong and fierce. I love how she wants to protect and provide for her family, even if she suffers while doing it. (I don’t like that she suffers, I like her loyalty)
And Luca... Urgh 😂! He was a major A’hole throughout the book. I don’t like how he treated Peyton. I also don’t like how he turned his back on Peyton, when he was supposed to be her best friend. But I am hoping to see him turn himself around and redeem himself. I did see some very small signs of redemption at the end, but of course it ended before it could fully happen. So fingers crossed 🤞😂
And that takes me to the ending... which of course is a cliffhanger 😫 I love Tracy, but her endings drive me insane. All I want to do is find out what happens, but I have to wait. (Impatiently) 😂 it’s a good thing her writing is flipping amazing, otherwise I would be very frustrated 😂
All jokes aside, this book is fantastic, just like the rest of the series. And I 💯 recommend reading it.

So it’s taken me all day to attempt to write this review! This book was insane. You first meet Luca in the MKU trilogy following Kane and Letty but lemme tell you.. he is completely different in this!
I actually spent most of the book like 🤯 reading him! He was so angry and volatile compared to the sweet, loving guy you meet in the first books! I spent the first 50% or so of the book thinking he needed a good punch 😂 but honestly he just made my heart hurt. He clearly held so much anger towards Peyton and just blamed her for all the bad in his life. He really struggled to deal and handle with his emotions and that really came through in this!
And Peyton bless her.. she didn’t deserve how Luca treated her for most of this book but once she found her back bone I was like YASSS GIRL. She just wants the best for Luca and ends up letting him treat her poorly at the beginning hoping he’ll forgive her for what he deems a betrayal but by the end she’s like BYEBOY!
I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book.. THAT CLIFFHANGER THO 😰 so many secrets to still be unveiled and I can’t wait to see the progression of their relationship and I really hope to see a lot of growth with both characters! 💖

This is a dark and twisted relationship between Luca and Peyton. The author does a fantastic job pulling at your emotions with the behavior of the characters and had me glued to the pages right to the end. It's a sign of a terrific writer when she can make you despise her character to the point you can't forgive or forget. Then she leaves you with that cliffhanger ending! This is an amazing story and I can't wait for the next book!

OMG ladies be prepared to see a side of Luca Dunn that we’ve not seen before! This author dragged me in from the start to that shocking ending with her magical words and I’m left speechless! Luca and Peyton’s chemistry is off the charts hot I’m talking sizzling and after that ending I’m just gobsmacked I don’t know what to do with myself I need the next book now please!!! Leave it up to this author to leave you on pins and needles Tracy Lorraine is definitely in my top favorite authors list for a reason and this story right here is why !

Tracy Lorraine has delivered a sexy, dark, entertaining bully romance with The Vengeance You Crave. I loved the compelling storyline and the characters, Luca and Peyton, who both seem conflicted and a bit broken. Note: this is the first in a two book ARC within a Series, so there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book! If you enjoy all things Bully Romance, intense situations, lots of steam, second chances, or broody, angsty alphas, this book should satisfy for days! 5 Stars!

Ummm... so can I have part two now cause ugh!!! I wasn't ready for just how big of a douche Luca could be ... and boy does he hold a dang grudge. I was shocked by how quickly he forgave Letty but still such a butt to Lee and Peyton. These two definitely have chemistry but I really hope she stands up for herself and doesn't let him run her. And he really needs to deal with his daddy issues ugh.

Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better, it did!! I wasn’t sure if I would like Luca’s 360 transformation, but I’ll be dammed, it worked. It really, really worked. Plus, I just absolutely loved Peyton. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil the book. Trust me, the surprises in this one will be worth it.

Luca Dunn may seem like the golden boy who has it all. But in reality his life is anything but. With an overbearing and controlling father breathing down his neck constantly, Lee his twin brother, betraying him after keep a secret from him which involved his best friend Letty, the girl he thought he loved. But all of that is nothing compared to when Peyton, his ex-best friend/girlfriend, first in everything, walks back into his life after telling him lies and then leaving him 5 years prior.
Peyton Banks is trying to live her life the best she can considering her circumstances. But with Luca’s presence in her life again, it’s not going to be easy. Especially since he will stop at nothing to make her pay for what she did and the way she left him 5 years ago.
Luca and Peyton definitely reminded me of Letty and Kane’s relationship. Not only with the pulling and pushing, but also with their chemistry that is fully explosive when they give into each other. Though they were definitely less aggressive, or at least Peyton was. She seemed to take it more, than give it back. Something that is understandable given the clues about her history. With her brokenness having defeated her, she doesn't fight back, instead taking it all in for the sake of her family.
As for Luca, DAMN! I definitely didn't expect him to be how he was, given how he was in the first three Maddison Kings University series. He definitely did a complete 180! He was an animal in heat any and every time he was with Peyton. Like seriously HOLY MOLY! He could possibly give Kane a run for his money when it comes to being the guy version of a freak between the sheets! And though he was an arrogant asshole, you could see it was his way of acting out with fulfilling his feelings without actually spilling it out in the open.
Safe to say Tracy bought the steamy HOT and FIERY heat yet again, but with Luca and Peyton.
Despite the aggressive behaviour, the more time they spent together (whether it was intentional or not), you could see their old emotions and feelings were threatening to bubble over. Even though they both tried hard to fight it by pushing it back down and hiding it away.
Luca and Peyton both definitely had redeeming qualities, so even if you wanted to hate them at times with their behaviour. You couldn’t help but love them too and root for them to get together.
Once again Tracy kept us on our toes in anticipation through The Vengeance You Crave. Since over the course of the story, there is an air of mystery behind the secrets that surround Peyton and Luca involving their past history. Especially with Peyton, since you could tell she was hiding something. It definitely had my working working through it all, thinking up theories of what it could be in the beginning. Which started to narrow down with the more hints that were dropped throughout. I think I may know what it is, but with Tracy you never know since you can’t help but second guess yourself.
Tracy Lorraine has definitely hooked me in with Luca and Peyton’s story in The Vengeance You Crave, especially with that cliffhanger ending. Safe to say I definitely can’t wait for the next part, The Destruction You Desire in the Maddison Kings University series.

Peyton Banks is trying to live her life the best she can considering her circumstances. But with Luca’s presence in her life again, it’s not going to be easy. Especially since he will stop at nothing to make her pay for what she did and the way she left him 5 years ago.
Luca and Peyton definitely reminded me of Letty and Kane’s relationship. Not only with the pulling and pushing, but also with their chemistry that is fully explosive when they give into each other. Though they were definitely less aggressive, or at least Peyton was. She seemed to take it more, than give it back. Something that is understandable given the clues about her history. With her brokenness having defeated her, she doesn't fight back, instead taking it all in for the sake of her family.
As for Luca, DAMN! I definitely didn't expect him to be how he was, given how he was in the first three Maddison Kings University series. He definitely did a complete 180! He was an animal in heat any and every time he was with Peyton. Like seriously HOLY MOLY! He could possibly give Kane a run for his money when it comes to being the guy version of a freak between the sheets! And though he was an arrogant asshole, you could see it was his way of acting out with fulfilling his feelings without actually spilling it out in the open.
Safe to say Tracy bought the steamy HOT and FIERY heat yet again, but with Luca and Peyton.
Despite the aggressive behaviour, the more time they spent together (whether it was intentional or not), you could see their old emotions and feelings were threatening to bubble over. Even though they both tried hard to fight it by pushing it back down and hiding it away.
Luca and Peyton both definitely had redeeming qualities, so even if you wanted to hate them at times with their behaviour. You couldn’t help but love them too and root for them to get together.
Once again Tracy kept us on our toes in anticipation through The Vengeance You Crave. Since over the course of the story, there is an air of mystery behind the secrets that surround Peyton and Luca involving their past history. Especially with Peyton, since you could tell she was hiding something. It definitely had my working working through it all, thinking up theories of what it could be in the beginning. Which started to narrow down with the more hints that were dropped throughout. I think I may know what it is, but with Tracy you never know since you can’t help but second guess yourself.

You are in for one hell of a ride with these two.

Peyton makes friends quickly with Letty, Ella, Violet, West, Micah and Brax. And kind of reconnects with Leon.
With what Luca's doing to her she should be terrified, but ironically she feels safe around him. But she's getting to the point of that it's pointless getting through to him, he doesn't deserve the full truth if he couldn't believe her all those years ago. She wants him to be worthy of it.
Will he come around to believe her?
Will he tell his father to back off with the pleasure of hounding him over football?
How far will Luca go into punishing Peyton?
The things that Luca does is shocking. Peyton is strong. She's got a reason to be strong.
My heart broke for Peyton. I ugly cried over these two. They had so much going for them until that fateful day.

Smoking hot!
Payton may be trying to hide from him, but he would finally corner her and find out why she lied all those years ago and then left town shredding his heart. He would get his answers and he would make her suffer for lying to him.
Luca was the quarterback at Maddison King Universite and was being pushed to live his father's dream. To be his prodigy. His twin brother, Leon, doesn't realize how lucky he is not to be under the pressure to perform and being told by their father all his mistakes.
He's drowning in the darkness and needs to take back some control. Luca is buried under the pressure, the failure, lies, cheating, bullshit. He needs to be the one making the decisions, pulling the strings, causing the pain. He has to find a way to crawl out and controlling Payton will give him back some of that control.
He will make her pay for her lies. And on top of everything he finds out that Leon had slept with Letty. And now she is engaged to Kane. He knows that ultimately Letty wasn't for him, but them lying to him kills him inside. Especially his twin.
Payton knew that coming back here, knowing it's where he is, was the biggest disaster waiting to happen. She had hoped that Luca had gotten over what happened years ago before she left Rosewood, but gauging by the anger on his face when he saw her at The Locker Room on Christmas Eve that hope died.
Luca was her best friend until she told him what she had discovered, but he didn't believe her and turned on her calling her a liar. Three days later her mom had packed her and her sister up and left town to keep them safe. And even though his look says he wants her gone, she's not leaving this time.
Payton tries her best to see the young boy she left behind in Luca's mesmerizing green eyes. But, all she sees is a man determined to make her suffer.
Luca wants to make Payton feel pain, but she is the only thing that calms the demons in his head. And he can't deny that no matter how much he hates the lie between them he wants her more than he ever did when they were teenagers.
This is my first time reading a Tracy Lorraine novel and boy has she gotten me hooked! This book is very well written and the characters are awesome. Payton's new friends Ella and Letty. Aunt Fee and Elijah. Leon. And Kayden. I adore Kayden.
This book is full of action and intrigue. Tracy Lorraine draws you into the story from page one and the characters are so relatable that you actually feel part of the story. Why does Luca feel deceived by Payton? What was so bad that Luca couldn't do anything but turn on the girl he loved.
This book leaves you with a cliffhanger and more questions and I can't wait to see how Luca handles this news. He is finally accepting how much Payton really means to him and trips over the reason that Payton is back in town and why she is working at the worst bar in town. A bar that is known for the "extras" you can receive from the waitresses.
The chemistry and interaction between Luca and Payton is over the top hot!! I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read the conclusion to their story!
