Chase and Rikki make excellent heroes in this incredible story filled with depraved and vicious characters with one goal in mind - find the gold. If you like submarines, diving and a bit of romance, this is a well researched and beautifully written adventure that has it all. Exciting and Informative.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This is the 1st story that I have read by this author and definitely won't be the last. The story begins with Chase taking easy on a uninhabited island when he notices a kite suffer who lands on the island right by him. since he had just finished cooking fish that he caught, he invited Rikki, the kite suffer, to share it with him. Soon there is another group of people that also show up on his island. They attempt to abduct Rikki, but are unsuccessful.

Rikki is what is a fortune hunter who searches for lost treasures. The treasure she is looking for relates back too WWII. Chase after escaping with Rikki decides to work with her. As they start their search, they are once again under fire from an unknown group. As they find the treasure, they again come under attack and Rikki is taken and Chase is left to die.

To discover what the treasure they are hunting, who the people are that are attacking them, who aids them with information and how this all ends up, then you must read this book.

Deep Gold - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Ex-Marine Chase Gordon's relaxing day at the beach comes to an abrupt halt, when he rescues kite boarder Rikki Talen from abduction, by neo-Nazis who don't plan on leaving any witnesses alive. Why do they want Rikki?
A brief encounter turns into a deadly game of cat- and-mouse, as Rikki's pursuers are desperate to take her and leave Chase dead.
How will things turn out for the treasure hunters?
What happens in the hidden tunnel?
When a delusional megalomaniac begins creating his own 'kingdom', Valhalla, off the Cuban coast, he expects Chase to retrieve 'his' gold to fund it.
With sharks, (both human and actual) bringing danger ever-closer, can Chase survive and save Rikki in time?
Douglas Pratt's Deep Gold is a riveting adventure, that rivals David Berens' Troy and Ryan Bodean, or Chase Austin's Sam Wick, all-action thrillers that, like Deep Gold, will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Go get 'em, book-lovers!

This was an exciting, pull you along adventure from the beginning. Oh the life of being able to live on a boat travel to different islands, eating fresh fish, working only when you need something, Laying on a beach enjoying your lunch when a beautiful woman rides a kite down to a beach of the island you are on and as you are flirting with each other, assassin's show up and they have to protect their and each other's lives. I would trade for that life any day. Chase and Rikki meet accidentally but fit together like they have been together for years. Rikki's research is leading them deeper into the mystery of a sunken submarine with treasure inside. Will they find the treasure or will the many men after them keep them from it? You will enjoy this book, this series, this Author.

Being hunted for hunting for gold

Chase accidentally meets beautiful and sexy lady Nikki on a remote island while she's windsurfing. Bad men sent to apprehend her come onto the island shooting. Following in the next several days are group after group of two men shooting.
Meanwhile, we spend a great deal of time on an ultraluxurious yacht while playing cat and mouse games with the bad guys who want a sunken German treasure trove of gold coins Nikki has researched.
A group of neo-Nazis add an opportunity for us to get the bejeebers scared out of us about the possibilities of Nazi sympathizers.
The romance here is mainly lust. The talented 'shoot-'em-up' teamwork of Chase and Rikki is really cool. I enjoyed it all.

Deep Gold is the third book in the Chase Gordon Tropical Thrillers, and the series continues to build adrenaline and excitement with each installment. When kite surfer Rikki Talen lands on Chase’s deserted beach, she is soon followed by mercenaries looking to kidnap her and leave no witnesses. The Neo-Nazis are treasure hunters after a submarine filled with Nazi gold. Rikki is a wealthy treasure hunter with a mega-yacht owned by her celebrity father. Chase and Rikki must evade their pursuers, find the gold, and uncover the mastermind at the center of the deadly plot. It's a great read for lovers of the ocean: boats, diving, and excitement.

A peaceful setting along the water, where Chase mets Rikki then sharing a fresh catch and small talk. A dingy with swastikas tattoos men on a mission
changed things, Trying to outrun them wasn’t possible, hiding in the mangroves might. The mission to find an old submarine ship with a cache of gold still on it, in the caribbean waters. Without instruction Chase is now caught up in the pursuit of them finding it and saving their lives. Full of adventure to the end to enjoy, well done.
Given Arc for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

In his last book, Chase aided a young girl whose boat was being boarded. This book, a girl kite surfs on a remote beach chased by bad dudes. Kind of a theme?

Rikki is the daughter of a rich actor who likes adventure and is sailing Dad's yacht looking for an old Nazi sub with Reich gold. However she is not the only one looking. She and Chase are being hounded from place to place in search of the gold and get in some tight scapes.

Fear not Chase is a one man saviour.

If your looking for answers as to what happened to Missy, you won't get it here- no mention at all.

I received this book as an ARC.

While the book features Chase Gordon from his earlier books it is a perfect stand-alone read since there are no obscure references to incidents in previous books.

If you like a great read involving some WW 2 drama, this book is highly recommended.

Disclaimer: Although Chase and I share the same last name we are certainly not related, lol. Although the idea of getting a boat and sailing into the sunset to avoid life's hassles has its attractions.

Greed and Hate…

A powerful and deadly combination. Chase seems to attract trouble no matter how far from civilization he goes and this tale is no exception. Rikki sails into his life and within minutes the bullets start flying. They make a great team as they follow the clues to find Hitler’s gold and try to elude the Nazis that are looking for it too. On to the next Chase adventure.

Chase Finds Trouble…Again

Chase finds trouble in the form of Rikki, a beautiful rich girl who hunts treasures. The two hunt Nazi gold in a buried submarine in the middle of the ocean. This book has bikers, a former MI5 agent, stories from 1940, nasty Neo-Nazis, a luxury yacht, a charming man in a retirement center, action, suspense and love of the sea.

Outstanding action surrounds a chase after Nazi gold and the evil surrounding it.

Excellent characters, plenty of underwater adventure, a search for a German submarine and the riddle of a lone survivor with a box of gold coins delivers a great read and fascinating addition to this series. Well worth the time.

“Deep Gold” by Douglas Pratt is a superb read. Chase Gordon is relaxing, enjoying a fresh fish lunch on a deserted isle in the Keys when gorgeous Rikki kite-surfs into his life followed by neo-Nazis bent on kidnapping her. Great action with twists, turns, & surprises. It’s a hunt for gold adventure. Enjoy 4.5 stars.

Nazi gold & a sunken submarine

Chase stumbles upon the remnants of old plot of W2 Nazi Germany to make a safe haven for submarines to attach ships in the Atlantic and Caribbean. In so doing he saves a rich and beautiful woman who’s searching for missing gold rumored to be aboard a sunken German submarine some where near the Bahamas. Read along the adventures of the two lovers.

In a genre similar to Dirk Pitt, Chase Gordon completes impossible tasks with plenty of action and a large body count. This one includes a sunken Nazi treasure and a few spurts of neo-Nazi politics and racism. Of course, he gets the gorgeous girl - for a while - as well as a few additions. Action packed fun and constant motion. I'll continue the series with Book 4.

interesting story

Too many people killed this time. Like all the sailing description but know that a Tartan 40 can not go 30 + knots downwind! Made the same type of error in the last book as well So surprising since the rest of his sailing stuff is pretty good.

good story line

What does cut mean when looking ar another?
I live in Florida and have been all over the keys and there are no cliffs higher than about three feet.
Being a combat Vietnam Vet and an airborne ranger I didn’t see much difference in us and Force Recon while incountry

Interesting

Interesting take on the German submarines after WWII. I've read several stories and historical articles about them romancing Cuba and getting gold out of Europe. This fits right in with them. I liked the last scene in the retirement home.

Rikki

This story is action packed from the first page. Chase is portrayed as a nice guy just wanting to bum around the islands, and, trouble just happens to fine him. Crazy things happen yet it all comes together just right. I'm really enjoying this new author I have found.

Amazing!

Action, mayhem, violence, romance, thrilling storyline, and education all in one book! Mr Pratt is a genius mastermind to develop such a plot... and conclusion. I am totally hooked on this series! Excuse me now while I rush to buy his next book.

Things got weird

Maybe it is just me, but this book in the series reminds me of when Clive Cusslers Dirk Pitt novels started getting really weird and far fetched. Hopefully the next one gets back on track, or I will be looking for another author to read.

What an interesting series this has been! Chase Gordon, part time bartender, full time wanderer in his sailboat. This time he says a beautiful woman from kidnapping. She is not exactly a damsel in distress. Together, they look for a German U boat, buried treasure and fight neonazis.
