Don't miss the other books in the Baloney & Friends Baloney & Going Up!
Greg Pizzoli is the author and illustrator of The Watermelon Seed, winner of the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award, Number One Sam, Templeton Gets His Wish, Tricky Vic: The Impossibly True Story of the Man Who Sold the Eiffel Tower, and coming in April 2016, Good Night Owl. He lives in Philadelphia.
This graphic novel is another successful installment in the series. The characters are all vivid and distinct, and the short vignettes made me laugh more than once. I especially enjoyed the meta take at the beginning, where the friends discuss how to react to negative reviews of their previous books. This series has the range to entertain both children and adults, and I look forward to future volumes.
This graphic novel is about three best friends Baloney the pig, Bizz the bumblebee, Peanut the horse, and Krabbit the rabbit, who go on many adventures with a few obstacles along the way. And at the end, it shows how readers can make their own minibook by following clear step-by-step instructions. This book has lots of humor and would be enjoyed by many young readers. I would use this for independent reading in my classroom library.
A sweet, adorable and heartwarming read that's bound to lift your spirits! The characters are so cute and grumpy Krabbit cracks me up 🤣 This book is the third in a series but the first for me, so I'll definitely be checking out the rest!
Four friends have colorful, silly adventures reminiscent of Elephant & Piggie. There's a bit of meta humor when the crew read their own reviews! As always, there's a simple art project at the book's conclusion.
Another hilarious and super adventure from the gang! Great to see Krabbit get involved, (Don't touch me!) and Peanut is always good for a chuckle. My favourite story was The Painting. I'd be very happy to own any of that art.
Graphic Novel Third in this series. Middle level readers will appreciate the humor as these friends set ambitious goals for themselves and dodge obstacles to succeed. Readers will relate to ruined birthday cakes, unkind social media comments, etc.
Just like the first two, this is such a cute early reader graphic novel! I love the mini stories and all the characters with their unique personalities. I hope Pizzoli continues the series!
I like how each character has thier own colour to highlight who is speaking, making it really easy to learn the graphic novel format. Short stories with cute characters with some amusing references for parents but easy enough to be read solo (by a 6 year old who will get this for her bday).
This graphic novel series for the younger crowd always cracks me up! Four friends with very different personalities and four very distinct voices makes for a fun readaloud!
Mr. Pizzoli continues to entertain with stories of Baloney and Friends, especially in "The Painting," with his fun introduction of art styles to younger readers and Peanut's take on pop art.
I think I can relate to Krabbit. If you like the Unlimited Squirrels, you will like this series. Or if you like this series you may also like Unlimited Squirrels. I wonder if Mo and Greg do lunch?
This was funny as usual. You gotta love Krabbit. I loved it when he tried to cheat Peanut and then Bizz realized it was her dollar and he was like “I deserved that.” That was hilarious.
