I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Earth Magic is an absolute gem of a book! I've always had a fascination with witchcraft and this book is one of the best I've read so far! The information is concise, easy to follow and covers everything you can think of!
I loved how this was divided into seasons too and loved the grimoire pages so much! The illustrations add depth and creativity to the book and we're a beautiful accompaniment. This is perfect for newbies and more experienced practitioners and would make a perfect and beautiful book for any bookshelf and collection.
I really really want to get a physical copy of this book!

I love books about the occult and witchcraft, so I was excited to add Earth Magick to my collection of magical books. The cover is stunning and I love the art style-–it just makes me want to read it and display it. And it is as beautiful inside as it is out: the book is filled with gorgeous illustrations, diagrams, and charts that inspire and inform your practice.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about witchcraft, Earth Magick is the ultimate book for witches of any level. It is a perfect read for novice and advanced practitioners of the craft; I think everyone could learn something from this book, because it is extremely informative and easy to understand. It is a practical and comprehensive guide that helps to keep you inspired and connected to your spirituality.

This book covers ritual basics, the elements, the seasons, healing crystals, divination techniques, shadow work, energy balancing and more. Each section is packed full of easy to understand text and is paired with beautiful visualizations, breaking down the information and making it all super easy to understand and put into practice.

I appreciate the focus that is placed on purpose and staying present in the current moment. This book really encourages you to explore your practice and embrace your magical strengths. There are meditations and mantras that I can use for my craft. There are recipes for teas, baths, and protection spells. Also, meanings of tarot cards and healing crystals are spelled out, which are great for quick reference. Overall, this book offers a good introduction into witchcraft and helps teach you practices that will help to reconnect to mind, body, and spirit.

What I loved about this is that it touches on so many different elements of the craft, rather than focusing on any one practice or religion. This means that the book can be adapted to any belief or practice or belief system, and can really be fitted for your own individual path.

It would be a great gift paired with a deck of tarot cards, a cute teacup and some tea, or a pouch of healing crystals!

You can also follow author Lindsay Squire’s popular instagram account @thewitchoftheforest and illustrator Viki Lester’s @forensicsandflowers for daily content from these two queens!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing me with an eARC of this book, however, all thoughts an opinions are my own.

This would be an excellent primer for any baby witches. It doesn't necessarily have a lot of completely unique information, but it presents it in such a beautiful and accessible way that it would be great for beginners. It divides everything neatly into sections ranging from the elements to periods of the year, with ideas for spells and rituals along the way. I especially loved the pictures that went along with the spice and flowers grimoires. There is a lot of fun stuff in here, however, I would have thought it would have been solidly earth magick based on the title, but this is more for general use. That being said, if you are looking for a way to dip your toe into witchcraft this would be a great start.

The Witch od the Forest Magia Ziemii autorstwa Lindsay Squire wydane przez Wydawnictwo Publicat
#współpracabarterowa

Magia Ziemi to przepięknie wydana książka wypełniona współczesną magią naturalną.

Ja do Magii Ziemi będę wracał z wielką przyjemnością przeglądając najwazniejsze informacje. Koniecznie będę też wypatrywał innych książek autorki - o tarocie i astrologii. Jestem ciekaw, co odkryje po tych pozycjach! A tymczasem będę polecał tę książkę wszystkim zainteresowanych.

first of all this book has such beautiful colorful illustrations. i like how it explains everything witch such as the laws, casting the circle, calling to the elements, and how to close. often books explain how to start but not to close. there are different spells in regards to using the different elements. the different flowers & herbs are also mentioned. metal properties & uses of pepper/salt. i’ve been fascinated with witchcraft since i was young so i was very happy to receive an arc to read. the book is informative and can be used as a great reference for beginners.

After reading Lindsay’s previous book Natural Magick, I knew I wanted to read this one. This was a beautifully illustrated, informative, and easy to follow book about utilizing earth magick for your craft.

This book covers casting a circle and ritual basics, the four elements, the four seasons, earth magick, crystals, divination, empath care, and shadow work. Each section is broken down into manageable chunks so it never feels overwhelming, which will be great for beginners, or those trying to get back into their craft. Also, the illustrations in each section are beautiful and I love the quick reference illustrations.

I found the section about shadow work to be very helpful because it is a bit daunting, but she easily breaks it down and provides simple, but very helpful, exercises and journal prompts to get you started. If you are wanting to start dipping your toe into shadow work but don’t up to a whole book on it yet, I suggest picking this book up and trying out the simple suggestions she provides in that chapter.

Overall, this was a very informative and beautifully illustrated book. While I am not a beginner, I am struggling to get back into my craft so this book, and her previous book, have been a very helpful start for me. I will definitely be buying a physical copy of this once it comes out.

„The Witch of the Forest.

Autorka pomoże nam odnaleźć swój naturalny rytm i zsynchronizować go z cyklami natury.

Poczytamy o takich tematach jak podstawy uprawiania magii, narzędzia wróżbiarskie, metody wyznaczania kręgu, podstawy rytuałów, czerpanie energii z mocy pór roku i żywiołów (skorelowanie praktyk z porami roku względem Koła Roku, cyklu ośmiu sabatów). Dodatkowo autorka przekazuje nam tajniki pracy z cieniem, umożliwiające rozwój i transformację.

Jeśli interesuje Was szeroko pojęty klimat witchy, albo chcecie poznać podstawy, to sięgnijcie po „Magię ziemi”.

Lindsay Squire, którą możecie kojarzyć choćby jako autorkę The Witch of the Forest.

This book is about magic and things you need to know to perform it effectively. It covers witchcraft basics like spell and circle casting, then goes on to a detailed look at the four elements. The chapter on the four seasons was refreshing - instead of the usual rehashing of the Wheel of the Year, it looks at how we can work with the seasons to strengthen our magical practice.

The section on Earth magic is comprehensive but doesn’t overwhelm the reader with endless lists of correspondences. Instead, there is a look at herbs, flowers, salt, gums and resins, incense, metals and crystals, in enough depth that you feel you are sufficiently informed to be able to use them in your magic.

I enjoyed the chapter on divination as I am currently learning tarot (although the book does not mention tarot; it is too large a subject), and was particularly taken by the part on divination dice, which I shall be looking into further. The chapter on empaths was very detailed and informative and I took a lot of advice from it. There is also an in-depth section on shadow work which I have not come across before in other witchcraft books and which I found very useful.

A special mention goes to the beautiful illustrations in the book. They are full colour and each section of the book is accompanied by an illustrated summary, which is good for people who prefer visuals over blocks of text. Each herb, flower and crystal has its own illustration and this made the book stand out for me from other similar books. It is definitely a good reason to buy a hard copy of this book rather than the ebook.

Overall, this book is an excellent reference and guide to earth magic; it is not a one size fits all book, but rather accepts that everyone practices witchcraft in their own unique way and attempts to address these differences sensitively, while providing a guidebook to follow. Lindsay Squire does this brilliantly, and I would recommend this book to all witches, both beginners and more experienced.

With thanks to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Leaping Hare for providing a review copy of this book. All opinions in this book are my own and the review is given freely.

4⭐️- A beautifully illustrated and comprehensive guide to witchcraft that is easy to understand and apply, regardless of your experience

Thankyou to Netgalley and Leaping Hare Press (The Quarto Group) for the DRC in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly, I have followed The Witch of the Forest on Instagram for about a year now and love her content so when I saw that I could request a DRC of this book I HAD to do it!

This book was extremely informative and easy to understand. I no longer consider myself new to witchcraft as i’ve read a fair few books and blog posts yet I still found that this book educated me and gave me a better understanding of the craft, making it perfect for beginners and more practiced witches alike!

What I loved about this was that it discussed Witchcraft as just that- a craft, not focusing on any one branch of it or any of the religious elements that Wicca and Paganism add. This means that the book can be adapted to any belief or practice system and truly be tailored to your own individual path. I would definitely recommend this to people who are unsure about witchcraft, are beginners or even those who have no understanding at all as it does a brilliant job of explaining things, giving examples and activities as well as educating the reader, giving them the choice to believe and use however much or little of the information as they would like.

My favourite section in the book was the Chapter on Empaths as this was incredibly informative and helpful to me on a personal level. As an Empath myself I’ve often searched for more information and practical advice but struggled to find what I was looking for which this book provided in an applicable way!

I had to add that the colours and illustrations in this book are gorgeous- reading it on my kobo in black and white didn’t do the full colour version justice! Overall a fantastic read that I would recommend!

As someone who has always felt most comfortable in the forest, with nature, I connected with the author from the beginning. It's a wonderful book to start putting down the foundations in your own craft. The book is well organized and the beautiful illustrations are perfect for those who are more of a visual learner.

I loved the breakdown of the elements and then following them up with how to connect to each season. I personally feel that the seasons are the baby steps to connecting and building your craft. Lindsay Squire also connects everything to the zodiac and it adds just that little extra of connection.

Did I mention there is an entire section on herbs, spices, and flowers? Perfect for those gardeners who are looking to add a selection of herbs to accompany their spell-work and apothecary. I love how the author introduces us to 4 herbs/flowers visually and then provides us information. She then continues with 4 more, and so on. It helps the reader to not feel overwhelmed.

Overall, I definitely recommend this book to add to your witch collection. It has a great foundation and touches on a little bit of everything from ethics and crystals to empath care and shadow work.

I was sent a copy of this book for review curtesy of NetGalley!

I really enjoyed this book! It is a wonderful book for beginners. The layout of the book is concise and conducive to learning and retaining the information presented. The illustrations are adorable and helpful for visual learners.

The author states in the book that she previously practiced Wicca, and you can certainly see this come through in the book. This is not a bad thing however, especially because she makes the reader aware of when the practices that she is referring to are Wiccan in nature. The author stresses the importance of finding what works for you in your practice, which I find very comforting in a witchcraft book. There is no one way to do something and the author makes sure you know that.

I found myself taking screenshots of her spell suggestions to use later, and her short lists of common herbs/crystals/associations is very helpful for beginners. She also explains the importance of energy work and grounding yourself in a very easy way, which is nice because that concept was so difficult for me to grasp when I was just starting out.

This is a great book for beginners and seasoned witches alike. It teaches the basics very well and would be a great book to have at your disposal!

Kodus to the illistrator of this book, Viki Lester - the look of it drew me instantly and the stunning visuals continue throughout the book making it a very easy and pleasurable read. I read this in ebook format which took away slightly from the visual effect but I will be looking to get this once the print copy have been published.

The reason I tend not to read books on this topic is because I generally find that they can have a bit of a "negative energy" but Lindsay Squire has written this in such a positive tone which is in my opinion key to a book like this.

As someone who does not practice craft but has a keen interest in natural cycles, season and forces, this book is a comprenhesive guide, including infromation on common practices such as breathing exercises and medidations.

Looking forward to getting my hands on a physical copy of this book.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free ebook ARC of this title in exchange for my review.

3.5 ⭐s, rounded down to 3.

This is an introductory book, but I was very impressed with the broad range of topics Squire went over. Normally when I see introductory Witchcraft books, they focus on the one aspect that they put in the title, and almost nothing more. This is completely fair, as they provide the information promised. But what was different about Squire's book is that it not only gave ideas and tools to practice Earth magic, but also provided a way to implement these things into practices such as Shadowwork and Emotion Balancing. Praise for that, as these are essential, but sometimes difficult, parts of Witchcraft.

That being said, there was still a lot of fluff and a lot of repetition. Some of the pages felt like they definitely did not need to be as long as they were. The grammar and spelling checks on this book seemed very lax, as I found many mistakes that were quite distracting.

Overall, a solid introductory book.

The Witch of the Forest’s Guide to Earth Magick. By Lindsay Squire, Illustrator: Viki Lester. 2022. Leaping Hare Press (ARC eBook).

Squire’s guide covers a lot of information; from the magic power of: elements, seasons, crystals, herbs, etc.; to the arts of divination and shadow work. I found the former to resonate more with me, as I believe there are healing energies in nature and food, but I probably won’t try out the symbolic spells and rituals laid out in the book. That said, this is interesting information that works well for both a complete reading of the work, or for quick references. The illustrations are very helpful as well. An index and Further Reading section is included.

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish! I am brand new to the world of magick and witchcraft, and I'm so glad I started here. This book not only has beautiful artwork throughout, but it's jam packed with information for those who are brand new to the world of magick. From opening and closing a circle, calling on the elements, to extensive information on the various uses and powers of crystals, herbs, etc, I can't overstate how valuable this book was for me and my practice! I learned a bunch of different spells and have already started to see the results of them. I strongly recommend this book for anyone interested in magick or witchcraft. You will not be disappointed!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Despite not being a beginner myself, I quite enjoyed reading this book. In my opinion, it's always good to cover all your bases and go back to the beginning to freshen up a thing or two which this book is perfect for. Everything is very easy to understand so I would definitely recommend this to absolute beginners. The gorgeous illustrations are probably my favourite thing about this book since they make all the information a lot more comprehensible.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

While this book did not provide a lot of new or unique information, the information that was provided was presented well, and would be good for beginners. I did find the part about the Celtic Tree Zodiac to be interesting, as I did not have much knowledge of this. The illustrations are beautiful, and I enjoyed the structure of the book. Some spells and ritual suggestions are made for the varying elements and seasons which was a nice touch. Overall this would be a great addition to any collection.

I love these small, simple books that help you to connect with yourself and the world around you. This one was especially fun because it described the different seasons and the best ways to care for yourself during those seasons. There are fun recipes as well as journal prompts and different ways to connect to yourself and those around you. And, there are many options, if you don't feel comfortable or knowledgeable in some aspects, you can try others that get you to the same place. Very informative, brightly illustrated, and easy to read and understand.

A really great, easy to read guide and reference book for those who use nature in their magick. It includes so many useful illustrations of flowers, plants, and herbs for those who regularly use it in their practice (especially if you are looking for those you haven't seen in person before) as well as how to use them. It really helped me when I was looking for spells and jars, as well as collecting when I went out in nature. It also includes quick knowledge on divination practices where you could use these items. I've used this book regularly this year.

I loved this book and I’m so glad I picked it up. I love the authors mentorship-like tone of a kind “big sister”. It’s very hard to find books with advice like, “this is what I do but try something new and find what resonates!”. It gives you a great starting point while also encouraging you to do your own research and find your own path on your journey in the craft. I highly recommend it for other beginners like myself!

I was given an ARC by NetGalley in return for my honest opinions.

First off, I really liked the layout and illustrations in this book, they're a little bit folksy I feel they fit well.
The author has written a very thorough "How-to", and each section is very easy to follow. Defiantly a good place to start if you are interested in earth magick.

I borrowed this from the library to do some research into Earth based magic and it definitely had some helpful tidbits. I liked the section where it explained different herbs and their uses. I did assume it would focus on strictly Earth magic though and it touches on water magic and other forms. I did like the way it explained different concepts and it helped aid in my research.

Read it in Spanish. It's a nice book to introduce yourself to Magick and understand a little bit about each practice. However, it can be a bit shallow for those who already know a bit about the subject. What I liked the most are the illustrations and the part about the four elements.

I have had this book, for a while. I used it as a reference. Then I decided to sit and read it through. So glad I did, it gave me so much insight and was very well written.

I will use it even more as a reference.
