Change the way you sit in 28 days for health, energy and longevity
We live increasingly sedentary lives and our lifestyle has radically changed in terms of how we work and naturally move throughout our day. While we all know about the benefits of exercise for mental and physical health, what we're not so attuned to are the damaging effects of just how we sit - at our desks, scrolling on our phones, in the car or even on our bicycles.
But it doesn't have to be this way. By making small changes to our everyday sitting behavior, we can experience increased energy, confidence, optimism and openness.
Featuring a practical 28-day plan to transform your relationship with sitting, how long you sit at a time, how to add simple breath work and movement into your day and restorative moves for the end of the day.
Overall a great book on how to exercise when you work at home. I actually don’t work at home. I work outside the house however, I found many of the tips to be helpful. I got this book because I will try and incorporate more movement in my life I will say that summer suggestions like taking a walk in the morning or not feasible from where I live.
While I don't agree with the some of the yoga beliefs about receiving "energy" from the earth/environment, the movement that they talk about and how to stay motivated was very beneficial! I will be putting many of these stretches and movement ideas into my daily life.
This book started out great with explaining the importance of proper posture and movement. It went on the show various stretches one can do. I was expecting more information on “sitting” postures.
This book is more focused for people who work in an office or spend a lot of time at a desk. It defines some important things about posture, but then it was basically just showing a bunch of yoga poses. Great for a sedentary person but not a lot for an active person to improve their posture each day, which is what I was hoping for.
