Nick Newton’s billionaire partying lifestyle was turned upside down when he unexpectedly became a single father. No one is as surprised as Nick to see that he’s completely fallen in love with the little girl and when his baby’s custody situation is threatened, he will do everything in his power to protect her.
The last thing Charlotte Davis expected when she walked into the bakery was to snuggle the sweetest baby girl and lie to a case worker that she’s engaged to be married to her father, it just happened. It’ll all be worth it if it helps Nick win custody of his daughter. And her growing feelings for the sexy single dad? Well, that does complicate things a little.
Sexy, smart, and amazing with babies…his fake fiancée has got it all. Including his heart. Nick is falling in love with both the women in his life, and for a while everything is perfect. But when real life—and the truth—catches up to them, everything goes wrong and it’s not just their love on the line, but their lives.

Because my types of books is different from this so I didn’t give it 5 stars. And to be honest the whole story for me is kinda boring too actually... When they almost kissed, both literally have like 10 minutes of doubt saying “I shouldn’t, i’m sorry” and when they did kiss and touch things further... both are so slow and have long thoughts again😅 like a fcking kids in a relationship 😂😂😂 like i thought that was the first time they were being very childish about their whole relationship, but nooo.... both always do that long thoughts thing when it comes to their relationship, like when they about to touch each other, sleep together, have s*x, holding hands and even kissing. I was so bored
I like the book the most because of the daughter because she is cute and i have always like to see a child in a book. Cuteness overload!
But this whole relationship between these two? Mehhhhh
The hero is not possessive or even alpha male either, the hero when he sees the heroine for the first time and have a good feeling about wanting her omg he didn’t even chase her! See? They actually in a relationship because of a serious circumstances both needed Not a alpha male at all, the heroine is fine but she always doubts herself more often like get a grip! Their love story is safe but too boring, even their seggsss scenes are boring and not hot at all... Happy ending, going to be married and hopefully more babies.
🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 but if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book, i will never acknowledge you 🙏 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️
I’ve been waiting for this book, and I loved it! When reading a past book, I wondered who would get Nick’s attention and help him with his beautiful, baby Amelia. I thought it was sad how Amelia’s mother gave Amelia to her sister to give to Nick. Nick melted my heart on how good he was with Amelia. Amelia was a happy baby and I couldn’t help smile when I read about her. I was glad that Charlotte told the case worker she was Nick’s fiancé to help him get custody of Amelia. Charlotte was back in town because she ran away from her abusive ex boyfriend so she had that to contend with. I loved watching both of them fall more in love with Amelia everyday. It was funny how everyone could see how Nick and Charlotte were falling in love, but the two couldn’t see what was in front of them. There is some excitement toward the end I wasn’t expecting. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Seeking Happily Ever After is book 8 in the Ever After series by Elena Aitken and another great addition to this series.
Nick and Charlotte enter into a fake engagement so he can start the proceedings to adopt his baby girl, Amelia who was given to him and told he was the father…he suspected that is not true but he has fallen in love with baby Amelia and knowing her biological mother’s history he wants to raise her.
So much is happening…but can Nick help Charlotte heal from her past abusive relationship, get permanent custody of his daughter, and turn their fake engagement into a HEA…only time will tell. Keep reading and you will find out the answers….
I absolutely loved Seeking Happily Ever After by Elena Aitken; it is an incredible love at first sight love story. It is the eighth book in her Ever After series. Seeking Happily Ever After is the first book that I have read by Elena Aitken and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I was pleased that each book is a standalone and that I did not have to have read the other books in her series to enjoy Seeking Happily Ever After. Elena Aitken showed that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put Seeking Happily Ever After down and I loved every page. Who doesn't love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Seeking Happily Ever After is a sexy single dad love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Seeking Happily Ever After is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Elena Aitken did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Seeking Happily Ever After is the story of Nick Newton, billionaire and single father to Amelia and Charlotte “Char” Davis, interior designer. Char recently returned home to Glacier Falls following an abusive relationship. The sister of one of Nick’s past lovers, Jessica dropped off Amelia with Nick, identifying him as her father. Based upon the timing, Nick does not believe that he is really Amelia’s father. Nick grew up with an addict mother and decides to start adoption proceedings for Amelia. Charlotte and Nick have hung out together since her return to Glacier Falls, but they are not romantically involved with one another. Nick is set to meet with the caseworker assigned to Amelia’s adoption case at the local bakery. He knows his chances of adopting Amelia would improve if he was involved in a serious relationship. Char happens to be at the same bakery waiting to meet with a potential client, celebrity Stephanie Starz, regarding a life changing career opportunity for her at Stephanie’s Lynx Creek. While Charlotte is snuggling with Amelia, Susan the caseworker walks in. Charlotte identified herself as Nick’s fiancée, without any persuading from Nick. Nick is grateful that Charlotte is willing to pose as his fiancée to help in his adoption of Amelia. Char moves in with Nick, so that they are together when Susan arrives for her site visit. I love all the things that Nick does for Charlotte to make her feel like a real fiancée. Conversation between Char and Nick flows so easily, I love that both Char and Nick share secrets with one another that they have not shared with anyone before, especially the secrets that Nick shares about his family and Char’s about her last relationship. As Char and Nick spend time together, things change between them. Things change when, Nick finds out that Amelia’s mother, Jessica is not willing to terminate her parental rights, but wants to retain custody of Amelia. An unexpected plot twist changes things between them. I loved that Seeking Happily Ever After is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Char and Nick are facing that need to be resolved. I love how the storylines get so beautifully resolved. I love Nick’s proposal, the significance of the engagement ring, and the ending of their love story. Seeking Happily Ever After is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Seeking Happily Ever After, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the characters especially their teasing that made me laugh. I loved all the characters in Seeking Happily Ever After and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series, so I can catch up with the other characters. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Seeking Happily Ever After, who doesn’t love a hot single dad love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
I finished reading the book and didn’t want it to end. I want to know what happens to Char and Nick. This has been one of my favorite books this year. I was hooked as soon as I started. The characters were absolutely great and well described (I think I fell in love with Nick) and the story was a little different than normal. The storyline of a man bringing up a baby and giving up his single life was really good. He may be a billionaire but he loved his little girl Amelia. He also was fighting for sole custody. It was his mission and he was going to make it happen. Then the other main character, Charlotte, just got out of a very bad relationship and wanted nothing to do with men. But she did fall for Nick’s cute, adorable little girl. As he was speaking with a caseworker, he was thinking having a female around it might help show that he was the best person for Amelia who is in a loving family. Charlotte pops out and says Nick’s her finance when a caseworker was looking into sole custody of Amelia. So they begin a fake engagement. Both of them had sparks between them which did cause a little surprise to both of them. As the story continues, we learn more about Nick’s custody issue and Charlotte's past life. Can they do it, pretend to be engaged for Nick to keep the baby or will something unexpected happen to the two of them that changes everything? Super great book and I want to know more about what happens with them. This is part of a series and I look forward to reading more of the serires
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Both Nick and Charlotte have a complicated past, which we learnt about in earlier stories in the series. Nick, a billionaire, used to the party life, is now trying to adopt his young ‘daughter’ Amelia. The baby had been dumped on him by her mother’s sister, telling him that he was the father. Amelia’s mother is a drug addict, and Nick knows he is not actually the father, but he instantly fell in love with the beautiful baby and has completely changed his life to be a good father to her. Charlotte was in an abusive relationship, her partner Billy was extremely controlling and she was made to cease her friendships, she lost all her self-worth, and eventually she became so frightened of Billy that she was able to phone her brother Jeremy for help. Through his network of work colleagues he was able to rescue her, although she left with nothing so that Billy would not become suspicious of her movements. She is terrified he will find her.
Charlotte is now at home with her family in Glacier Falls, and with the help of an excellent therapist she is building her life again and starting to look towards a brighter future. She is sworn off men for the foreseeable future, but at a local function she meets Nick, and there is an instant spark between them. They bump into each other occasionally in Sweetie Pies, buying their morning coffee fix, and their friendship builds. Nick is very busy trying to arrange the adoption of Amelia, but the unusual circumstances make it a long-winded and frustrating procedure. He has had a private detective watching Amelia’s mother Jessica, and he is aware she is trying to rebuild her life, probably with a view to reclaiming her baby.
Events force a strategy upon them, and the book becomes fake fiancée trope, and they move in together. Charlotte tells Nick about Billy, and he tells her as much as he thinks she needs to know about how he has to deal with the adoption process, and with Jessica. Of course, as you must expect, Murphy’s law comes into play, and the two people who nobody wants to see in Glacier Falls make their presences known on the same day, when Nick has gone to the city for a meeting with his lawyer. Charlotte has to deal with both of them, one after the other, when she doesn’t have the full story about how to deal with Jessica. It turns out that Nick doesn’t either, which makes the situation more fraught, and dangerous. The reader is expecting problems with Jessica and Billy, but probably not quite how these events pan out. Lots of angst all round! The happy ending is really needed after that!
Nick Newton is a rich playboy who has had to end his partying lifestyle due to being handed a baby girl a few months ago and told the mother could no longer cope, and as he was the father she was now his responsibility. He gradually falls in love with baby Amelia and decides to move to be near his friends as the city is no pace for a baby.
Charlotte Davies has also moved back home and is not looking for love after recently escaping a difficult relationship, but when she meets Nick and Amelia in the local bakery and realises that Nick needs help to get custody of the baby, she doesn’t hesitate. Can they play a devoted happy family in front of the case worker without things getting complicated?
Alongside this story Stephanie Starz returns to check on the work at Lynx Creek (the author has been teasing us about her situation with Travis who is remodelling the cabins for her) and things are starting to simmer with Travis but we are still left wondering how their story is going to turn out.
We also catch up with characters from the previous Ever After books which I really enjoy. I loved this book but need to find out what happens to Stephanie and Travis, so please can we have their story next as I’m hooked.
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet Charlotte, an interior designer who is back home after a tumultuous ordeal with her ex. She is not looking for anything but a job and to continue to heal. We then meet single billionaire Nick who had a 7 month old baby girl given to him and told she was his. Nick knows Amelia isn't his biological daughter but he loves her just the same and decided to legally adopt her. His friend and lawyer basically tells him he needs a wife to help him win as the mother wants her back. Nick will not allow that. Char enjoys seeing little baby Amelia in the coffee shop and her giggles plus her dad makes her heart go pitter patter. Char's luck is changing when superstar Stephanie calls her to hire her to decorate her newly bought cabins...eeek!!! Finally she can get back into the work she loves. Nick is beside himself when a social worker is going to meet with him about Amelia. However, things go array when Char introduces herself as his fiance....what could possibly go wrong? Deceit, reality, feelings and drama make this book a must read.
Nick Newton had been known as the handsome billionaire, whose life was a constant party. To his surprise, he became an instant single father, who was in total awe of the little girl, Amelia. Nick realized, he was not the little girl’s biological father. He knew that he had to become her protector since her real mother was an addict. Nick had to gain legal custody to give her the home and love she deserved. Charlotte Davis, a new friend to Nick, walked into the bakery one morning to enjoy breakfast. She ended up by the time she left, she found herself as Nick’s fiancée. Charlotte was still recovering from a complicated past and attempting to figure out her future. She knew she needed to help Nick gain sole custody of Amelia because she was an adorable little girl. Their lives evolved around the little girl and several highs and lows during their new family journey. When everything implodes, their lives, emotions, and love are on the line. Beautiful, heartwarming story about what can happen in life and how it can change in a second. Loved it!
OMG!!! Elena Aitken proves just why she is a phenomenal author. She really grabs her readers by the heartstrings and doesn't let go. Her stories are always just perfect. Very relatable and realistic. Her words are guaranteed to stay in your heart and soul forever.
In Seeking Happily Ever After we get the GREATEST story of all the Ever After books. We get Nick's story. Nick and Charlotte have so much chemistry. Add in an adorable baby named Amelia and you are sure to be hooked.
Seeking Happily Ever After has all the elements that make a great book. Charlotte's story really pulled at my heartstrings. My heart really ached for her. Charlotte's past and the abuse she endured from her ex was perfectly told. I wanted to grab her and hug her and assure her she'd be alright. I became invested in Seeking Happily Ever After. I cried, laughed and heartwarming moments. I really didn't want the book to end. I read it in one day and read print it again. Yes it's that good! I found myself feeling as if I were there and not reading a story. I was mesmerized by Nick and Charlotte's story. Their struggles were so good and perfectly relatable and realistic. Their journey was perfect. I enjoyed watching them grow and overcome their struggles. he details were just the right amount to keep me wanting more. Elena Aitken captivated my heart from page one and to be honest I'm still captivated. This truly is Elena Aitkens best ever book. I was left wanting more. Just pure magical. Loved it. Definitely my favorite however I'll let you see for yourself. Grab a copy and fall in love with Seeking Happily Ever After.
I really loved this story. I think it's my favorite of the series. Nick was a billionaire who had been partying hard when he had a baby girl dropped off saying he was the father. He later figured out he wasn't but he already had fallen in love with the little one. Charlotte was just out of a very bad relationship when she ran into Nick and starting helping with Amelia. They pretended to be engaged to try and get permanent custody of Amelia. When the mother comes back onto the scene and Charlotte's old boyfriend shows up, things really start to happen. It was very exciting and I couldn't wait to turn the pages. The characters were wonderful and it was great to see things happening with characters with people from previous stories. Stephanie and Travis were fun to see their story starting.
I got this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I believe I liked this book the best out of the series. It's a fake fiancée trope with a bit of suspense. We met Nick and Charlotte in the previous stories. Nick is Damon's friend and is temporarily living in a cottage behind Damon & Katie's house. Nick is raising a child by himself and is trying to get custody. Charlotte is Jeremy's sister and is trying to heal from a previous bad relationship. She helps Nick by being his fake fiancée, but how fake is this relationship? There's a bit of angst and some suspense which works well in this story. I love that Elena brings some of the characters from previous books to the story. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series which will be about Stephanie and Travis who have been trying to fight their attraction to each other. I received a free copy of this book from the author via bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have truly loved this series, and this story was just as wonderful. Nick Newton, is a billionaire whose life did an about face when a woman brought him a baby claiming she was his. He has come to love this little girl and will do everything to keep her safe , especially when the custody of little darling is jeopardized. Charlotte Davis has returned home after an abusive relationship. She’s befriended Nick and his daughter and when a social worker comes to check on the little family, she fibs and says she’s Nick’s fiancee. This is the beginning of an arrangement that will change everyone’s life. But what happens when individuals from their past come to endanger their union and their lives? Once again, the author delivers a touching , at times heartbreaking as well as heartwarming story. Another winner in this already enchanting series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Seeking Happily Ever After by Elena Aitken, book eight in her Ever After series, is an amazing story featuring billionaire Nick Newton and Charlotte Davis. Nick’s world was turned upside down when he unexpectedly learned he was father; becoming a single dad will do that to you. Falling in love with his little girl was no surprise to anyone. Trying to figure out her future since returning home, after escaping from a controlling boyfriend, Charlotte enjoys her friendship with Nick. It soon becomes apparent that Charlotte is a baby-whisperer when it comes to baby Amelia. When Nick’s custody is threatened, Charlotte willingly agrees to pretend to be his fiancé, without a second thought; even if it’s truly a fake engagement. Pretending to be engaged is easy, but living in a small, one-bedroom guest house and trying not to fall in love will be much, much harder for these two. The magnetic attraction and off-the-charts chemistry between Nick and Charlotte is going to make their journey of keeping baby Amelia with Nick a roller-coaster ride. When real life, Charlotte’s past, and the truth finds them, everything that can go wrong, does. It’s going to take a special love to make order from the chaos around them.
Ms. Aitken wrote a wonderful and amazing story, filled with sizzling chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters that is not to be missed. I totally enjoyed and highly recommend Seeking Happily Ever After to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A fun and emotional story. Nick, single dad to baby Amelia, is trying to legally adopt her. His lawyer tells him he stands a better chance if he is engaged or married. Charlotte has recently returned to Glacier Falls leaving an abusive partner. As Nick and Char's paths cross he absentmindedly mentions he needs a wife. Nick helps Char get some work and she returns the favour by telling his caseworker that she is his fiancée. Complications follow from Amelia's mother and Char's ex. Some great twists and turns in the plot as well as humour and chemistry between the couple. Read an ARC for an honest review.
I’m not sure how to describe how much I wanna just…hug Nick and Charlotte and Amelia. The author made their friendship and eventual relationship, between all three of them, so very special and real, at least to me.
It’s a wonderful story and took me through Nick’s and Charlotte’s…let’s call it ‘dance’…it had its ups and downs, that’s for sure. I loved how Amelia bonded with Charlotte from the very start. And I loved how Charlotte jumped right in when Nick was desperate for help. And I just melted whenever I read about baby Amelia.
I won’t retell the story – please read it for yourself. It had a bit of intrigue, it had a bit of stress with baby Amelia’s adoption, but mostly it had a lot of love that Nick and Charlotte had to figure out for themselves. Highly recommend this book, and the entire series, and just loved it.
Gut wrenching, hard hitting and very close to home. Welcome to the CAS and the Canadian legal system. This is very factual as to how the system works unfortunately. Scary but true! Loved the way Elena called a spade a spade. Hopefully the system will open their eyes. Someone who gives birth is not necessarily a mother.
A fake engagement might just be the real thing in the end. Really enjoyed this cozy read with Char and Nick. With help from friends and family they might just concur obstacles in front of them to get to their hea . Enough going on to keep you attention with some humor, twist and surprises. Definitely worth the read and through the writing you get a real for the characters and supporting characters. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
I feel like I’ve been waiting for Nick’s story since the series started! He is definitely my favorite character and this is my favorite book. Charlotte is the perfect match for him and I don’t think the author could have done a better job with their pairing. Coming off a very bad relationship, Charlotte is back in town to get her life back together. She’s the last person you’d expect to claim to be single dad Nick’s fiancée! But if it’ll help him get full permanent custody of baby Amelia, she’s all in. Naturally, neither wants or is ready for a relationship, it’s all for the baby. How many times have romance readers heard that before! Their story is richer and more engaging for me then some of the others in the Ever After series. I really liked how Ms. Aitken fleshed out their backgrounds and personalities. I was sorry to have it end, but so glad to have read and enjoyed it.
As an ARC reader I'm leaving an honest review. I always appreciate when an author includes something special in their stories. Whether a hats off for the military, acknowledge the first responders, or something a wee bit more difficult such as addiction and abuse. This story has all the feels and moments that keep you needing to keep turning the page. Abuse. There's no excuse in dishing it out and it also effects the loved ones of the victim. Addiction. What triggers it to start or relapse? No one knows, but that too effects the loved ones of the addicted. Ms. Aitken did a remarkable job tackling both of these tough topics to leave us with an amazing story with no cheating or cliffhanger and the beginning of a happy ever after. Enjoy 🤓
I love all the Ever After stories so far but this one is my very favorite one! So much compassion and love for a little girl from her “father” Nick and his pretend fiancé Charlotte. Char is willing to do anything to help Nick keep Amelia with him forever. Including falling in love with Nick. There is a twist I never saw coming so I’m not giving any more info because I do not want to spoil this one. It definitely was a page turner! Gotta read this one!! I love it!!
I won an ARC of this book and truly enjoyed every word. The characters are real and relatable and I quickly became invested in their future. As Nick and Charlotte evolved into a couple, they discovered much about themselves. I had not read the prior books in the series, which did not impact my enjoyment of the story but now I will read more about this community.
PS the epilogue is awesome - definitely join Elena's newsletter to savor the extra bonus.
I received a copy of this book from the author as part of her review team.
I have been a die hard fan of Elena Aitken for a few years now and I have had the pleasure of reading each book in this series.
This was such a great way to celebrate Nick and Charlotte. As always there’s a little romance but I was pleasantly surprised with the suspense and intrigue this story had. There were so many emotions swirling around inside me and I could feel the love and connection Charlotte had with Amelia oozing off the pages!
This book was beyond amazing. Once you start reading this you are transported to a world where you can relax and forget about everything else. The characters seem so real that you feel as though you know them and no matter what you cant help but love them. The story will keep you interested and reading till the end and then you are wanting more. This is a must read book no doubt about it.
You will laugh, you may cry, or you may even bite your nails, but you will enjoy getting to their happily ever after. An unusual situation with a single man seeking custody of a baby. Lots of friends help. Some exciting moments. A sweet and sexy page turner. Lots of potential romances in this small town. I look forward to reading those stories. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review.
This is the eighth book in the series. They can be read as standalone books. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and wasn’t confused. This book is about Nick Newton and Charlotte Davis. Charlotte has moved back to her home town after a bad relationship. She is trying to figure out how to go forward. Nick has recently moved to Charlotte’s home town. He recently became a single father. Things are complicated on that front actually. He is trying to get custody of the little girl. His lawyer tells him it would be better if he was engaged or married. After Nick recommends Charlotte to a friend for a job she wants to help him. So when she is holding Nick’s daughter and the social worker shows up she doesn’t hesitate to say she is Nick’s very new fiancé. The two like each other and both tell themselves that if the circumstances where different they would take the chance. Well now the chance to see where things could go is there. They will need to act like a couple to make it believable. But what happens when real feelings begin developing on both sides. Both worry the other doesn’t feel the same. Plus they are both dealing with ex’s. Nicks isn’t really an ex they only slept together a few times and then she tells him this baby is his. Where as Charlotte’s ex is dangerous. She left because he was abusive. But will he let her go so easily? Will they get to be a happy family go forward? This was a great read. I loved it right from the get go. Nick and Char dance around each other a little. But when they agree that they need to be close to make this work all bets are off. I felt for Nick and his journey to protect this little girl. Char fit right in. She loved her right away even before the pretending began. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. Great job. I love all the characters in this book.
In this book Nick a billionaire finally got his HEA. A baby is dropped in his lap and he’s told he’s the father, he soon realised the baby wasn’t his but he loved her deeply and set in motion her adoption.
His lawyer tells him his chances increase if he had a significant other, he jokingly mentions to Charlotte he needs a wife and she was confused but let it slide. Charlotte returned to her hometown after she left an abusive relationship which left her a shell of herself, she steps in as Nicks fake fiancee when she meets the social worker in his case.
When the mother comes and takes back the baby Charlotte runs of upset and is cornered by her ex who shoots her. I lot of trauma and drama but I just couldn’t love it, it seemed a bit unfinished as has many in the series. You really need to read the series in order as each book leaves a couple unfinished so you need to buy the next book. I prefer standalone books even in a series with interconnected characters, I get frustrated when you only get part of a story and need to keep buying the next book then the next book over and over as they seem incomplete. I’m calling it a day now though with the series as I’m frustrated with each ending and I read to get a pleasant feeling with HEA
Seeking Happily Ever After is the eighth book in Elena Aitken’s Ever After series. I loved this book from the very beginning. Such a heartwarming read with a single dad, Nick who is trying his best to secure his ‘daughter’ Amelia’s future. Enter Charlotte into the picture and what starts as fake engagement develops into so much more. When Amelia’s mother surprisingly shows up, will Nick’s secret change everything for the happy couple? When Charlotte’s past comes back to haunt her, will Nick lose his hope for forever?
Seeking Happily Ever After was a fantastic read that I highly recommend. It is definitely a standalone but it was also fun catching up with past characters. I received an advance copy which I chose to read and review. This is my honest opinion.
