The big bad wolf god is huffing and puffing at my door.
Fenrir has the nerve to believe that I’ve wronged him, and he won’t be satisfied until he’s gotten his revenge. He wants to strip me of everything I hold dear: my home, my pack, my freedom… and my clothes.
It looks like I’ll have to find a way to keep him happy—or else.
While I’m busy trying to work things out with Fenrir, enemies are closing in on us at all sides. We’d better work together, or it we’ll both end up in Hell...

I’m sorry but what the absolute hell is happening?!
I’m trying to be open minded but this story and all the characters took a 180 from the first book. The first book which I tried to overlook the similarities to another popular rejected mate series. Another book in which a shunned girl in a pack is mated to the alpha, rejected, and then also taken away by their god while learning she’s super unique.
I keep seeing 4-5 star reviews but I guess no one else is bothered by the blatant sexism and shit logic this book is pushing.
Here’s one of my favourite little gems: “Just smile a little more. Don’t be so disagreeable, even if you’re finding him belligerent. Eventually, he’ll run out of bluster and remember why he chose you as his mate.”
^^ This mentality right here is how abusers get away with hurting people. By making women think if they just SMILE more and be more agreeable they can avoid being hurt. And this is our lead’s mother telling her to behave this way. And she continues to dish out this HORRIBLE advice. We have to read about how she should seduce him, pander to him, submit to him, fight for him. I’m sorry but if you have to fight other women to keep a man loyal or gain his affection HE DOESN’T TRULY FUCKING LOVE YOU. The mother is not alone either everyone is freaking gaslighting the lead, who is spineless enough the duration of this book to go along with it. She doesn’t even try to come up with a solution not to need Fenrir to keep herself alive. She just KEEPS TRYING TO MAKE HIM HAPPY.
So yeah this sequel is a dumpster fire of what the actual fucks. In all honestly I’m only 200/340-ish pages through, but this has been 200 pages of me yelling and I don’t know if I want to keep going.
If you have ever read one of my reviews you’d know I’m usually pretty forgiving, I try to cushion my aggravation (as my inner Canadian demands), however, I CANNOT STAND these backwards messages. I’ve read Mary Sue characters with more support to be independent. Like I do not want to be told this woman is strong when she’s pandering to this type of crap advice. How is it strong to concede without reason? Like she “fell in love” after roughly a week of knowing him. She has mentioned how she literally only has the mate that SACRIFICED her to compare him to, which makes him great. I thought he was solid in the first book and quite supportive and encouraging of her strength and then he got slighted and turned into a raging alpha dickhead that should be confined to the sexist pages of an omegaverse novel. No, just no.
This is exhausting this level of frustration. I really wanted to like this series but the messages it’s pushing are horrible. I’m so sad about this because the writing and universe was interesting but the characters and morals are garbage.
Fen was a weak, insecure, whining, controlling bastard with serious daddy issues. Most of the story was him stomping around, throwing tantrums because Lydia refused to sacrifice her life for his dad's. Lydia was annoyingly indecisive. Either following around like a little puppy with heart eyes or being angry and wanting nothing to do with him. I'm honestly over both of them at this point. They have nothing in common and zero chemistry. I don't trust her mom. Her personality is totally different from the first book. I kinda feel like she's behind it all. I'm trying so hard not to quit this series because I kinda like her spin on these Mythology tales but the characters are so unlikable.
I got 28% of my way through this book before I said..nope..I'm done.
Nothing wrong with the writing, and I like the female main characters person..not wolf. I can't get past her Mother or her wolf. Her Mother is abusive, and it's not treated that way. Her Mother doesn't care about what the girl has to do for status and continuously talks about having status. Her behavior is fairly glossed over. How it's dealt with may change later in the series, but I can't get that far. The emotional manipulation is just to much for me. Same with the useless a** wolf she has. I can't stand a wolf in a series that doesn't support their counterpart, where its all about the smell or the dominance.
For me it's a no, but it's personal preference and the lack of acknowledgment of emotional manipulation as abuse just grates on me.
What the fuuk is this bull💩? Book one was OK, super similar to another series just not as good but still alright.
But book 2, jeebus christ. What sort of mother does she have? What bull💩 advice are you giving your daughter? Smile, don't be belligerent, but up with his bull💩, wear some lingerie. Blah blah.
Book one the mum and friend were all for leaving Fenrir in hell now the mum kissing him on the cheek, grateful to him ignoring what her daughter is trying to say and instead counseling her on not making him upset and please him so he doesn't decide to find some other hole to stick it in and let her daughter die instead.
WTH just happened????!!!! I am dying!!!! This ending is 😱
World build: Is just as exquisite at book 1. No deviations for Klaus keeping this exciting, and edgy.
Storyline: Picks right up where we left off and people it is riveting from page one to the end. Still surprises emerge. Old foes come back into play. A "father" shows more of himself and begins to slowly reveal his intentions. Powerful alphas rise.
FMC: Lydia showed her bad-assery in book one and she does not change one little bit. Her backstory has made her a formable foe. She is all in with Fenir and she is all in as an alpha. No matter who comes knocking on the gates she will be there to defend her mate and her people. She is not dummy like you see with some FMC. She thinks, and plots like the best of them. Strong FMC.
MC: Fenrir ...gah....he is just power on top of power. Finally released from hell he is going to claim his mate and claim is pack. No one is going to stop Fenrir. Granted they have some mega monsters wanting to bring Fenrir back to hell and wanting to claim Lydia, but there is no doubt who will come out on top.
Secondary characters: You will see more of a build here which I loved. To me strong secondary characters really enhance a read.
This was the most disgusting bullshit I've read in quite a while. Slavery, absolute dominance, and misogyny is NOT sexy. I couldn't even finish this book because of how awful it was. It is not romantic or even remotely okay for a male to steal power from his mate, to humiliate and undermine her in front of others, to insinuate that she's only good for sex, to constantly berate her and act like he knows better, to push her away so he can take control of everything, to threaten to rape her (and yes, it's fucking rape if you threaten to take your power away and kill someone if they don't submit to your every sexual demand), to manipulate her, or to expect her to submit (especially when she was a freaking alpha). Maybe the author "redeems" Fenrir at some point, but I'm out. Writing like this, blurring the lines of consent, and trying to imply this sort of sexual abuse is okay because the female is attracted to her abuser, is absolutely irresponsible. And yes, he is an abuser. I don't care what kind of redemption arc the author might have planned - what he did in this book was not okay and should not be romanticized or fetishized.
*A lot of spoilers following* 2,5 stars - That was disappointing. I'm really angry with the first 60% of the book and that is quite a lot. The relationship was so toxic and literally the opposite to the first book. In the first book he wanted her to be strong and angry and helped her be the alpha but than in the second book he took that away from her, humiliated her and did not even show a little respect or something, he wanted her to be weak and submissive even though he loved her before for the opposite, and why? because he was sulky about her not wanting to live for thousand of in pain? Really understandable actions (not). But after the 60% mark he took another 180 degree turn and was nice again and was exactly the way he was in the first book and the relationship was cute again, but that was just too long too annoying and I'm just really happy they did not have sex in this state of mind. All this time not only Fenrir but also the female MC was so annoying, she talked to herself as if she was strong and did not let him treat her like that but than she did let him be this idiot to her and she questioned herself all the time if the should be more submissive and she was aroused all the time by his stupid actions even though she did really not like it, that felt just too wrong and was very different from the character I liked in the first book. BUT THE WORST OF THEM ALL.. THE MOTHER. I never hated a mother so much who was not even a villain in a story. The actions of the mother were just really sick. She did not seem to see at all how her daughter felt about Fenrir and how he wanted to change her character and than she even supports his actions and wants her daughter to stop being strong and a fighter because "she don't need to be a fighter anymore" and an Alpha needs a submissive mate or he will go and get another woman. I mean are you kidding me?! How is she so sick? And than it's normal for an Alpha to be a little ruff and hurt his mate during sex, which he did not (otherwise I would have DNFd it immediately) but the mother thought he had and that it was totally normal and to be excepted from an Alpha (I maybe puked a little). And than she makes her daughter a portion the daughter explicitly said she did not want and the mother still gave it to her in secret which made her NEED to have sex with someone to not feel the worst pain ever, just to "help" her to finally be the mate of Fenrir, which leaded to her daughter nearly getting raped (she did not, which was important for me). Also the focus of plot is definitely the (steamy) romance but still there was barley any steamy scenes and no actual sex at all in the first two books. Which would not be a problem at all for me if it were not so focused in the plot and if there were more actual story plot but instead the story is quite chaotic and underdeveloped.
I'm still going to read the last book because I want to know how it ends and the books is free for me but if the mother remains this disgusting and nobody does anything about that, I'm angry.

This book just pisses me off . I can’t believe what just happened I’m in shock and I need some answers with all these twists and turns and every evil thing coming out of the woodwork. Book 3 please 🥺

Outwitted is the continuation of Bella Klaus’s Rejected Mate series and it seems that things are only going to get more complicated and difficult before they get better for Lydia. While she’s thankful for Fenrir’s intervention and subsequent saving from death (again), she’s less than thrilled with the litany of accusations that will soon continuously stream from his mouth like a raging river. Lydia was the Shifter Queen for what seems like a blink of an eye before she’s forced to yield the title to Fenrir. He has somehow acquired himself a corporeal body and for the time being, has no need of a sacrifice to give him access to the living world. It sure seems like Lydia is about to have her hands more than full. Outwitted is a really engaging novel and overall I truly enjoyed it. I will admit that the back and forth between Lydia and Fenrir about what happened in front of his parents...it did get a bit tiresome. It seems that Fenrir decided to take offense in spades and make a mountain to the sun out of what really happened. It’s a mix of humor and then just irritating. He refuses to listen to reason and I just kept thinking...if the roles were reversed. Strange things are starting to happen around Logris as well. Lydia is seeing the disgusting shaman, Grog, but no one else is? Bizarre much? Then Frida is back? From the dead, too?? Wait for it. It’s going to be really interesting. Now, while there is quite a lot of back and forth, and some posturing alpha style from Fenrir, things do smooth out eventually. The way I breathed a sigh of relief because if things continued in the vein of Fenrir being stuck in snit-fit mode, I probably had a fit myself. LOL! But these characters are literally being ganged up on. Everywhere they turn there is a new problem facing them and things are only getting more complicated. But hey! That makes for a really engaging storyline! It definitely kept me page-turning that’s for sure. I will tack on this little warning...the ending...might be a little gross/uncomfortable for some readers. Now, me, I cringed and laughed because of the ridiculousness of the character speaking, but it is a bit cringy nonetheless. I know that nothing too egregious is going to transpire come to the next book, but the ending might leave a bit of a bad taste for some readers. So, just a little warning...brace yourselves just in case. All in all, I’m rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The back and forth got on my nerves a bit, but when they finally get on the same wavelength...it’s worth the wait. This book is packed with quite a lot and the author did a great job keeping me page-turning to the end. Definitely recommend if you enjoyed the first book in this series.
This installment in Klaus’s “The Rejected Mate” saga picks up right where Sacrificed left off and is just as intriguing. It’s also a rollercoaster ride of emotions … I loved Fenrir … I hated him … I wasn’t sure about him … I thought I might like him again … it definitely kept me on my toes! My desire to see Lydia thrive never wavered and I definitely had many questions about her mum’s true allegiance at times … I think I’m still trying to sort out some of my feelings as I write this—this trilogy is wild! And that’s all BEFORE the end which is a whole other ride on its own!
It packs a ton of action, drama, fight scenes, good versus evil, mythology, characters I love (and love to hate) from the author’s other worlds, and more. I’m constantly impressed by this author’s talent.
Ends on a wicked cliffhanger, as all of Klaus’s do, but the next book is out so go for it, you will not be disappointed! (Book 3 = Vindicated
A great addition to this series. This book begins where Sacrificed ended. Fenrir found a way out of hell and entered the council chambers in time to save Lydia from certain death at the hands of the Nordic pack alpha. He is now the alpha of all the Logris shifters and the Norsk pack, he is also now the King of the shifters.
The first third of the book is a giant push/pull between Fenrir and Lydia. Both stuck in their perceptions of what went south in their handfasting ceremony and what it means to their relationship and the future of the pack. Right around the time I was beginning to lose interest in this back and forth, things turn and Fenrir is finally able to see things from Lydia’s POV. There is a lot of action in this book, and a lot of steam between our main characters. I do love them together, so I was very relieved when all that silliness was over.
I highly recommend this series. You do need to read the books in order and they do end on a cliffhanger.
This book picks up exactly where book 2 ends. There is very little need for a rehash, but a few times we do get a gentle reminder of prior events which is helpful. I can't say much about this book as I don't want to give anything away.
What I can say is that Lydia and Fenrir do lock heads quite a bit in this book and to see how they handle the issues is really interesting. There are so many twists and turns that you are always on the edge of your seat!
The characters continue to grow and develop at a fantastic rate. This book is non-stop but in a good way- you never feel lost or confused. The interactions with each character are always engaging and you find yourself really rooting for some.
There is another book coming, which is great- especially with what was revealed at the end! A really good read that you will have done in one sitting- it's that good!!
We are back with Book 2. This is NOT a standalone and the first book must be read to understand what's happening.
Lydia deals with the aftermath and misunderstanding with Fenrir. Now that he's in corporeal form, they tend to butt heads even more now. But with all enemies to lovers, the groveling is oh so good.
I really loved both Lydia and Fenrir when they are together. (Honestly, it reminds me of that scene in Beauty and the Beast , after rescuing Belle from the wolf attack). He may be a bit of of a d!ck, but she's not taking any of his crap. She's a pretty strong willed character, just like Mera is. It is a pretty wild ride, but it's only getting better!
I really liked this book as we get to see more into the characters after what happened at the end of the last book. Lydia and Fenrir start out very rocky but as they go through all the twists in the book. Fenrir realises why she really left him in the cave and that his revenge on her was misplaced. To then come to such a cliffhanger ending after more comes to light. Can't wait for the next book
Book two and it’s a doozy! This carries on from where we left off and it’s hot and exciting and very entertaining. Fenrir and Lydia continue to develop their relationship as the story carries on, there’s action, there’s danger and there’s excitement all set in this amazing world created by the author. I look forward to the next book!
Idek, I both liked and disliked it. I just HATE when authors create pages just by hindering their characters from simply communicating with each other to solve problems. And that was basically 70% of this book. The story is nice but even though it ended with a cliffhanger I’m not so sure if I‘m going to read the last book very soon.
DNF’d at 31%. I thought I could. Uh. Continue reading??? What was I thinking? Like, seriously, no hate to the author, but this? This felt STRAIGHT out of a goddamn stereotypical Wattpad book. I tell myself nothing good will come out of reading werewolf books, but do I ever listen? No. I do not. Pass.
Lydia and Fenrir continue to butt heads in this book. With no time to really work on their relationship due to all their enemies trying to take them down. Some very interesting twists and turns in this book and one heck of a ending. Can't wait for book 3
LORDY!!! I want a Fenrir 💥💳 Miss author did it gain. The plot twists in this book are crazyyyy. Was scared I wasn't gonna like it as much as the first one but was proved wrong. Can't wait to read the third book.
This was a good read. I really enjoyed it. And I loved how things turned out for Lydia and Fenrir. Although that ending is giving me the creeps. I am grateful the third book is out :)))
What the absolute F? 49% was all I can do. Stupid decisions, stupid characters. So disappointed. I had high hopes. But the way the first ended was annoying as hell. Gave this a try though. But our girl’s arguments are weak, and Fen is just stupid. He basically wants to imprison her, calls her a liar and is acting like a moron. Then she’s getting hot over a bloody punishment spanking. Disappointed!
What on earth? The first book was ok, at best. The idea kept me engaged but the sudden choppy twists and turns were confusing. Then I get to the second book…
Well as soon as her mum started spewing that crap about pleasing him I lost all interest and it didn’t get better as Fenfir kept doing 380s on the personality scale. Like what??
Plus the choppy twists carried on which doesn’t seem to ever get to a point. Meh probably won’t finish this book 🤣

I am so confused - this book just took a drastic turn from book 1 and I don’t understand why??? I rated the first book 3-4 stars, it wasn’t terrible and it did keep me hooked until the end. Book 1 Fenrir was pushing Lydia to take control and get revenge and challenge the alpha etc etc. Spoilers below -
This book he takes a complete 180 (after she refused to stand in to be tortured for who knows how long for his parents) and takes over her alpha powers, shuns her to staying in their room naked warming his bed, and telling everyone he f***ed the alpha power out of her (even though they have barely even kissed) AND HER MOTHER IS LIKE ALL FOR IT?? Clapping actually when she hears this… I’m sorry what? I wanted to slap her across the face when she was suggesting Lydia needed to be more docile and smile and wear lingerie to entice Fenrir or he would stray to some other woman since they are all offering to be with him. And then she is telling her about how her father was rough in bed and even starts asking her if she is okay down there at times. Ew the whole thing just felt gross. And Lydia isn’t even really against it - she’s upset but she still wants him and kinda goes along with her mother’s suggestions at times (she does draw the line at using drugs to entice him) - I just don’t get it. Granted Fenrir was still apparently trying to protect Lydia and he did tell all the women that she was his mate and he didn’t want any of them but overall I just didn’t like how they treated Lydia and didn’t really like many of the characters at the end. Not sure if will even bother continuing since I can’t imagine will do another 180 in the next book - but who knows.
Frida leaves with the Nordic pack and then returns expecting to live in her former room in the Alpha’s home. Sybil (Lydia’s mother): “Alpha Fenrir assigned me the role of the alpha female of this pack.” Mum rose to her feet. “And it’s me that decides who dwells in this home, not you.”...”Get out of our home.” Mum pointed at the door. Frida: ...”Where do you expect me to go? I have no family here.” “Why don’t you try Healer Asena?” Mum snapped. Later Frida appears at the gate demanding access. Where was she living in the meantime? Why didn’t she stay dead after Lydia killed her?*
Speaking of the mother, she was more anxious to retain her reacquired status as alpha then wanting her daughter to be happy. She was going to insure there was a mate bond or die trying. Getting rid of Lydia’s clothes so she’s forced to wear sexy dresses? Sneaking her a tonic that will force her to go into heat? Yeah, no.
Lydia’s wolf is marked by the demon Marchosias, the same demon her mother made a deal with to bring her baby (Lydia) back to life. The mother suggests visiting Beowulf to see what his mark looks like so they can identify it on Lydia. Wouldn’t the mother have the same mark from her original dealings with Marchosias?
Fenrir strangles Frida to death after she made a reappearance. How did Grog survive?
This book has a fairly horrifying ending.
I additionally read the bonus story, “Indecent” which indicates "Mondo and his trio of idiot sons...”Aren’t the twins sons of Mondo? What happened to the third brother?
I kept reading this series after book 1. Why? I don't know. Various individuals undergo a total personality shift in this book - including Fenris and Lydia's mother. Fenris spends the first half of the book basically just humiliating Lydia. As usual, she seems powerless to do anything about it. Lydia's just along for the ride, I guess. If Fenris kills her, she goes to Hell for eternal torture, although it's not clear why she thinks Fenris is going to kill her or why she has to go to Hell. But because of these facts, she schlups along. Don't worry, he undergoes yet another total personality shift partway through the book and just becomes a boring puppy dog with hearts in his eyes. Lydia doesn't hold a grudge, because she's as confused as the reader, I think.
Her mother also undergoes a total 180 personality shift. I spent the book convinced her mother is actually just a demon in disguise. But there's never a reveal, so maybe it's just weird writing. At one point, her mother tricks her into going into heat by dosing her, then sticks a metal spike in her head. I couldn't get past the writing on that one. Did her mom lobotomize her? Very confusing.
I skimmed a lot. There's no chemistry between Lydia and Fenris. There's no character consistency. It's almost like a random assortment of events and characters pulled together into a book, written while someone is dropping acid.
So… as interesting as book one was, book two seemed to just be pulling crap out of nowhere and piecing it together. It’s still readable and interesting but there was so much nonsense in this one and parts where it seemed that the author forgot details she had written in book one or even in the same book! I hate that.
Fenrir was unreasonable for such a long time in this book that when he finally started making sense and they way he did, it made me feel like Lydia was in an alternate reality or something. It was like a switched flipped on him and not a gradual realization of his behavior.
Lydia’s mom, Sybil, has been acting like a looney bird since Fenrir showed up (and not like in book one), she also did a 180 on wanting to renege on the promise to free him from hell to his number one fan in a 24 hour or less time frame. I couldn’t tell if she was just pretending for Lydia’s sake or genuinely felt that way at first. A lot of secrets about Sybil’s past were revealed and I still think she has more.
Beowulf’s secrets also come to light and boy was it a whopper! Speaking of Beowul, his post on his social media page that Sybil found don’t even make sense because who would leave negative posts about themselves on their page? Ridiculous.
Anyway, see my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. Happy reading!
This book is a 3.5 stars for me, I liked the first one much more. Especially with Fenrir's behavior the first half of the book, and how not only Lydia reacted (actually, she at least sometimes showed some spunk). I absolutely hate male characters with this kind of behavior, they are total jerks and barely redeemable in my eyes. Even the 180° turn in the second half did not let me forget how he treated his supposed mate and love of his life. And the way Lydia's mother acted also wasn't a honorable or acceptable motherly behavior, rather a nice manipulation. If it wasn't for Lydia's own development and her character, I would have rated the book probably worse. Though to be fair, the world building, the storyline and plot development, and the writing style are very good and engaging enough to capture any PNR reader's interest. I am sure there are many who also enjoy dominating a-holes as main male characters, but I don't enjoy it that much. Hopefully since Fenrir and Lydia are on good terms now the next book will be again better fit for me, as I am still curious what happens next, especially considering that cliffhanger..
Lydia and Fenrir's story starts when Lydia's true mate sacrifices her to the Wolf God. It was really her wolf that was sacrificed, but Fenrir made a deal with Lydia to keep her human soul of out the sixth dimension of hell. She would help break him out of hell..
I love how Fenrir was in book one, but I will admit I almost didn't finish book 2 because of how he treated her in the beginning for his perceived view, on how she walked out on their equivalent to a wedding.
I am glad I stuck with the story, and saw how they came together. Both books finish in a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see how book 3 picks up the story.
They are being hit on all side. From the Council getting tired of hearing their complaints, to the demon whose the father to Lydia's wolf, to Fenrir's sister is who raging that he escaped from his pocket dimension in hell.
How much longer can their pack survive with being hit on all sides?
How Lydia's in heat and the enemy has approached her door ready to create a demon spawn so he can reincarnate and leave hell.
This was just horrendous to read. I wanted to stop soooooooo many times before now, but I pushed myself to keep going. I just can’t anymore.
This book is padded up with filler information and repetition. Lydia will have an experience with Fenrir (which is described in detail), then Lydia and Fenrir will have an argument over this (which they rehash things we know), Lydia will then vent to Phina (again rehashing in detail the same argument), and Lydia will have an awkward conversation with her mom (rehashing the same thing in detail).
It’s one thing for Lydia to rise from the dead, but now no stays dead, which defeats the purpose of dying.
In book one Fenrir lectures Lydia that she should kill all the people who did her wrong and not be lenient on them by sparing the lives. When Fenrir becomes alpha he allows Frida to stay in the alpha lodge, even while knowing Frida had Fenrir’s mate killed twice already. Why doesn’t he just kill Frida?
Fenrir is said to be a god, then why does he care about being king? HE IS A GOD.
