Aiden Cole is an Offshore Installation Manager of a stationary rig with cat 5 hurricane Julian on a war path. Two men have been injured and need to be airlifted off the rig for medical attention.
Ariel (and I can’t for the life of me remember her full name) is now a Medivac helicopter pilot. She was a former a military pilot, but Ariel’s helicopter took fire and was shot down on her third combat tour, and her career ended with a medical discharge after her leg was shattered.
When Ariel is requested to airlift the injured men off the rig, her and two colleagues make the flight. She lands the chopper, and Aiden is surprised it’s a chick pilot. As Ariel would say … “Sexist much?”
This is a quick, light, love at first sight novel with a few obstacles thrown in between to keep it interesting. I know of Ellie Masters through her previous work and have several of her books. In this new series, Ellie has teamed up with her husband, Jett Masters. And they make a wonderful team. Aiden and Ariel is book one in The One That I Want series, with another three to come. I, for one, love this series already. And with all of them having a guaranteed HEA, what’s not to love?
Highly recommend.
Well done, Ellie & Jett Masters. Bravo.

Aiden and Ariel
Author Ellie Masters
4 stars ☆☆☆☆

This love-at-first-sight story is full of heart-stopping, unpredictable action and toe-curling sexual tension. Aiden and Ariel are not looking for love, but love has found them, right in the middle of the Caribbean during a category 5 hurricane.

Aiden, the rugged, oil-rig worker, is demanding, possessive, and protective. He's already found the love of his life and doesn't expect to ever find another. When Ariel drops onto his rig ready to help rescue his crew, his heart stops and he is powerless against her pull. His body knows what it needs and he is eager to give it what it needs. When he opens up and gives Ariel all his truths, my heart ached for him. Aiden wasn't dealt a perfect poker hand up to now, but when Ariel comes into his life, his luck seems to change and now all bets are off. Maybe he can finally keep the promise he never planned on keeping.

"I see a future I never thought possible. I don't understand what's happening, but I know I don't want it to end...I’m not in this for a one and done kind of thing, ...If that scares you, this is the time to bail.”

Ariel is beautiful, courageous and fierce, and Aiden had never met a woman who hit all his buttons. She has fought her whole life to be accepted and valued for her accomplishments. Even though she is in charge of her life, she doesn't date, she has no time for that, so feeling an undeniable attraction to the very capable man in charge throws her off balance. Having a man look at her with respect and lust in his eyes melts away her wall of armor. She has never relied on a man for anything, but when danger and necessity strikes, the one thing she can't face is losing him forever.

Ariel and Aiden find their soulmate in the last place expected. I loved their story, every bit of it.  The action and unknown kept me turning the pages and shaking my head in disbelief when an HEA seemed a lost cause. Aiden is a demanding sort in the bedroom and his time spent there with Ariel had my toes curling along with hers.  In the end, they left me smiling and curious about book 2 in this series all about Love At First Sight Romance.

She never felt more alive than with a stick in her hands and air beneath her feet. – Ariel

Ariel Black was a helicopter pilot; she lived to fly. After surviving an anti-aircraft attack that left her with shattered legs, Ariel was honorably discharged from the armed services. Her job was to ferry oilmen to and from the gigantic oil rigs in the ocean, and this one promised to be tricky…. Hurricane Julian was coming in hot, and her window to ferry the injured men off the rig was short…
He’d never felt anything like it before. It was as if he’d been struck by lightning and the pilot was at the center of it all. – Aiden
Aiden Cole was the man in charge; his word was absolute law on the oil rig. Two of his men had become severely injured in a moment of distraction, and he blamed himself for not keeping them safe. Aiden knew a chopper was on its way to air lift the two injured crewmen and that it would then return for him and the remaining crew. But his first encounter with Ariel turned his world upside down and inside out…
He felt there was more to Ariel than a one-night stand. She smelled like his forever. – Aiden
Every time he looked at her, he stole every bit of her breath, taking it into himself where he held it close like a precious gift. - Ariel

The attraction was absolute, completely enveloping, all encompassing… and mutual. Fighting it was senseless, but Ariel had a duty to perform, and she couldn’t let anything, or anyone, stop her from performing it.
“Hurricane Julian came to enact a profound vengeance upon the world and the last thing she wanted was to be anywhere near the full brunt of his fury. Brass balls and nerves of steel, this was what she lived for; flying at the edge of reason , but she hated leaving Aiden behind. “ – Ariel
“I’m forever and always yours.” - Ariel
This story…. I couldn’t find the words. It reaches deep inside your soul, to the hidden corners where forgotten dreams reside. It lifts you up amongst the seas of stars and plummets you to depths unknown. Loss and redemption, crippling fear and forever love; this story has all that and more. Some authors know the pathways to your soul, and like an old friend, they hug you with their stories and kiss you with their imagery: one such author is Ellie Masters.

What a wonderful story. Aiden and Ariel. Ariel is a helicopter pilot flying to a oil rig to get 2 wounded men of but a storm or hurricane is arriving and she can’t get of. Aiden is there and he is the one responsible for all on the platform that’s where they met. And the story begins. It’s full of passion from both sides both being stubborn. A hell of a story. I loved it.

My Perfect Romance!!

Awesome characters – she is a helicopter pilot, ex-military with medical discharge. He works on an oil rig and is a single father to his daughter. When Cat-5 hurricane comes rolling in, there is a battle for survival with chemistry and sparks regardless of the deluge.

“Don’t worry about me. I’ve seen worse than a simple storm.” Holy rocking that confidence! Blue eyes, authority, self-assuredness? He hit all her buttons.

A promise to his dying wife to “move on” had gone unfulfilled – there hadn’t been a woman smart enough, strong enough or tenacious enough to hold his interest. He’d known this woman less than an hour and his skin hadn’t stopped buzzing.

Compelling read which needs to be devoured in one sitting – you truly will not be able to put this one down. Thrilled to know there are going to be more in this series!!

What an adventure. Ariel flies a rescue helicopter, she's a strong woman and men are not really great at handling a relationship with her. She was medically retired after her Army copter went down. She ends up flying out to an oil-rig in the Caribbean during a category 5 hurricane, (Which I've never heard of happening, and I grew up in Florida, but this is a story) to rescue crew on the oil-rig. Aiden is an Offshore Installation Manager of an oil-rig who's possessive, demanding, and protective. He is a force to be reckoned with while on the oil-rig and in charge of his men. When Aiden and Ariel meet there is instant electricity. They both have lots of things they have to work through together but first they have to live through Hurricane Julian. Love this story. Action, drama, nail biting situations, and a great ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Passionate, emotional and swoonworthy, the story of Ariel and Aiden is brimming with sexual tension, passion, and angst.
Two unlikely characters discover feelings and possible second chances under the unlikeliest of places under even unlikelier circumstances.
Well paced, and exciting, the development of their journey had me on the edge of my seat cheering them on.
Was their insta super hot attraction just that, or something more?
Their characters were so likable and relatable, I felt their upheaval as they struggled to make sense of their emotions.
What happens?
You’ll have to read and find out!

Saving Ariel is book one in The One I Want series and Aiden and Ariel’s story. Aiden is a widowed father and the manager of an off shore oil rig. Ariel is a war hero and a MedEvac helicopter pilot. When a hurricane injures two of Aiden’s men they need help to evacuate. Ariel is dispatched to evacuate the men and gets trapped on the oil rig during the storm. As soon as Aiden and Ariel meet they have an instant attraction to each other and sparks fly. I just loved everything about Aiden and Ariel’s story, it has great characters, a fantastic storyline, and it’s filled with laughter, suspense, danger, and sizzling chemistry. Aiden & Ariel’s Steamy Quick Read Builds To An Emotional Ending – Prepare For A Few Tears! It Starts Out In The Thick Of Things As Hurricane Julian Rolls Into The Gulf Of Mexico, Endangering The Oil Rig Workers.

Aiden Cole, probably in his thirties, is the Offshore Installation Manager of an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. As OIM, he bears a lot of responsibility. The safety of the crew is of paramount importance in his dangerous line of work. Following safety protocols is a matter of life and death. His crew is expected to follow his orders without question. He is an alpha through and through, and doesn’t shirk from the responsibility. He is confident and self-assured. It is a tough life on the rig, working out at sea for two weeks at a time. But on the two off weeks in between, he gets to spend quality time with his nine year old daughter, Callie. Mary, his mother-in-law, helps raise Callie when he heads off to work. Mary is a widow, and Aiden has been a widower for over eight years now, since shortly after Callie’s birth. He lost his beloved wife Samantha to cancer and hasn’t considered moving on despite the promise he made to his dying wife. She wanted him to find happiness and love again, but that is a promise he doubts he will ever fulfill. He is happy with his life as it is.

As Hurricane Julian heads into the Gulf of Mexico, the thousands of oil rigs that make their home there begin a massive evacuation effort. A Category 5 storm is rare and formidable, and as Julian changes course and heads straight for Aiden Cole’s rig, which sits just over one hundred miles offshore, their evacuation plans become complicated. Aiden has two injured men – Caleb and Jeffery – being medevacked out. This won’t leave time for a second helicopter to land and load the remaining crew – Duncan, Randall, and himself – and safely fly ashore before the treacherous winds settle in. Aiden may need to make some hard decisions. His men and the medevac team work against the clock to stabilize and load the injured men as Julian rolls forward.

Ariel, probably in her early to mid-thirties, never had a lot of friends. She was always a bit of a tomboy. Her dreams of flying intimidated teenage boys and grown men alike, and girls always had a hard time relating to her big aspirations and determination. She spent eight years in the Army as a helicopter pilot. She loved being part of a mission, though it wasn’t easy to be a female pilot. She has always had to fight hard to overcome stereotypes. It was her third tour of duty in the desert when a rocket grenade shot her down. Her injuries eventually landed her a medical retirement, but she won a medal for helping to save two of her crew. Today she makes her home base out of Mobile, Alabama. She lives a somewhat lonely life. She hasn’t really dated much for years; none of her relationships have panned out well. Men just don’t seem to know how to handle a relationship with a strong woman. She loves flying, though, and enjoys a challenge. Larry and Andrew, her medic and flight nurse, complete her critical care transport team. She has worked with the pair for five years now. As they answer the call to pick up two injured oil rig workers, Ariel flies into a hurricane and tackles a challenge unlike any she has faced before.

When Aiden and Ariel meet, the air is instantly charged. There is something pulling the pair together from the very start – be it lust or love. Their physical attraction is off the charts, but they quickly recognize that it is so much more than that. Aiden had never imagined he could feel that way about a woman again, but he quickly embraces the reality and depth of his feelings. Ariel has been burned by every man she has been with, and trust is not something that comes easy to her. Moreover, she is on the job. Losing Andrew and Larry’s respect would be impossible to recover from, so maintaining a professional demeanor at all times is critical. But as the pair face potentially life-threatening weather and considerable stress, they don’t take what they seem to have together for granted. Still, there are challenges. Even if Ariel weren’t concerned about ruining her professional reputation, Aiden is clear about his need to lead in a relationship. Being bossy comes naturally to him, and it might just be a deal breaker if Ariel cannot get on board. He wants to dominate her – he wants her absolute respect. But giving over that trust to Aiden isn’t something Ariel can jump into, in spite of her strong attachment. Things are moving at breakneck speed for the couple, who are contemplating words like love just hours after meeting. But even if they can work things out, Julian may just tear them apart. The couple eventually earns a happy ending.

There are hints at book two of the series. Saving Brie is Brie Hamilton’s story. As captain of a yacht, she gets caught up with pirates and sunken gold, but ends up finding love.

Aiden and Ariel’s story is a fairly quick read. It is a combat veteran and instant love story about a widower and single dad getting a second chance at a happy ending with a feisty and independent helicopter pilot in the midst of a Category 5 hurricane. They face danger together while treading carefully with their new feelings. Note that the title might lead the reader to anticipate that Ariel is saved here, but she is in fact the rescuer in the story, sent to retrieve the injured men from the rig.

Aiden and Ariel’s steamy quick read builds to an emotional ending – prepare for a few tears. It starts out in the thick of things as Hurricane Julian rolls into the Gulf of Mexico, endangering the oil rig workers. It gets a little slow and repetitive in the middle, but the action picks up again later as tensions rise. This instant love story has a sweet and satisfying ending. It is nicely written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are well-defined. They are complex and real given the length. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Aiden and Ariel. I rate this book four stars.

A thoroughly entertaining read! Love the Alpha Male and Female mix.
Ariel is a strong feisty Character who has had a hell of a road behind her.
Aiden has had found love and lost his heart once before and never thought he would find it again.
But Hurricane Julian has ended up throwing these two unsuspecting characters together. The connection between them was electric and way more than either of them ever expected to find in the middle of a deadly Hurricane.
Life and death stares them right in the eye, will they be able to survive the storm and all it has to throw at them?
I loved the amount action and interaction between all characters involved. The sense of imminence of danger was incredible!
Grab your copy and find out as this action packed story pulls you in!

This book is non-stop action from the start!

A hurricane has forced the evacuation of an oil rig in the Gulf. All but 5 are left to be air lifted out but 2 are injured and require specialized medical attention before they can be moved. As manager of the rig, Aiden Cole has stayed behind with his men to ensure they are safely evacuated before locking down and securing the facility.

Aiden is a widowed single father raising her young daughter with the help of his mother in law. Between his daughter and his schedule of two weeks on, two weeks off on the rig he has no time for romance or dating. Despite making a deathbed promise to his dying wife to find love again, he feels guilty for even considering moving on after her death.

Ariel is medal decorated Army helicopter pilot who is now a medevac pilot after her medical discharge. She and her team of 2 are charged with landing on the rig, stabilizing and evacuating the two injured workers. After landing the hurricane intensifies and they are grounded while they wait for the storm to pass.

Ariel has always succeeded in a male dominated field and intimidates the men she has dated in the past. Her focus and dedication also makes it hard to form friendships with women or men and since the death of her parents has been mostly on her own.

When Aiden and Ariel meet on the rig the chemistry is immediately felt by both of them. This is the story of the two of them trying to understand their quickly developing feelings while attempting to stay safe and what happens in the aftermath of the hurricane.

I really enjoyed this story. I cheered and cried for these characters and could feel the emotions between the two.

This is book one in The One I Want series and it is Aiden and Ariel's story and omg it is a must read. Aiden is a offshore manager on a ill rig and also a single dad to his daughter Callie after his wife died of cancer. Ariel used to be in the military and now flies helicopters and helps people to safety or the hospital if they are injured. When hurricane Julian storms through the gulf Ariel flies to a ill rig where they have injured men on it and that is when she meets Aiden who is a alpha male through and through but also so caring of the people around him and also making sure everyone stays safe. The connection and chemistry between them is instant, and so hot that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book but will Ariel and Aiden get a chance of being together if they get off the rig safely or is it just the situation that they find themselves in as the weather gets worse and they are unable to evacuate they all get stuck on the rig but will they all get off safe only time will tell. I absolutely loved this book so much as it takes you on a journey of how to love again after loss which is not something that many people have found and I couldn't put this book down as it was a real page turner and so addictive and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series. Ellie Masters is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of your seat wondering what else would happen next. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

When I first started Saving Ariel, I thought that the helicopter pilot was a male. I know, I know, I shouldn't have assumed. But I did. So when I found out she was a female, I was cheering her on. She is a strong woman, who is proving that she can do anything she puts her mind to. She knows how to do her job, and she knows what is safe versus not. The fact that she was fighting with Aiden right away made me root for her even more. She wasn't taking anything from anyone. Or at least not if she could help it. I also loved how she fought her attraction, and voiced that it had only been hours that they've known each other. Yet for Aiden, he was all in. Ariel was right to be a bit skeptical and reserved. I loved how the relationship started, and the connection they felt. I love how Ariel's crew was a bit worried about her, and were all ready to go big brother on Aiden. Then Aiden's group was right there calming the waves and talking about what a great guy he was. I just loved it. When the big dramatic moment happened, I fully admit that I held my breath. I may also have started speed reading at that point so I could see what happened next! I had to know! And when that was all revealed, I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. The HEA at the end made my heart happy.

I absolutely loved Saving Ariel from start to finish. It was a wonderful story with a strong heroine. I could not put the book down, and am excited to read the rest of the series as it releases. We've been set up now for the next book, Saving Brie, and I cannot wait to hear her story. With how Saving Ariel kicked off, I have high expectations for the series!

Started well and I loved the fact Ariel was a combat trained war hero pilot. Such a great change to have the heroine be the one with the amazing life experiences.
Ariel’s comments and points of view were pretty accurate about a male oriented service lifestyle.
But the rest of this story centering around a factual hurricane was what grabbed my attention.
The plot was brilliantly done, the tension at certain points gripping and overall the story is well written and even the love at first sight part was believable.
But it fell down for me on two fronts.
I just would have liked a chapter or two with Ariel getting to know Callie and Mary, two major females in Aiden’s life and one about Aidan’s hazardous adventure time about being in the lifeboat once Ariel, her crew and the injured men took off in the helicopter.
Aiden had his own chapters prior to then, in which he showed himself to be honest, straightforward and a strong go getter. I think the author has done a big disservice by not giving us something about that time.
And why did we get that whole conversation around the disgusting C**T word. That part was so aggravating and annoyed me and I nearly put this book down, which would have been a pity.
I’ve only read one other book by this author and it was nearly a DNF with a very weak heroine. Glad I read this before reading that prior review, or I may have missed out on an enjoyable story.
I was intrigued by the ending with the female yacht captain Brie, the woman who saved Aiden, Duncan and Randall’s lives.
Will probably give it a try.

Saving Ariel ( The One I Want, #1) by Ellie Masters is as fast paced suspenseful beautiful written story about love at first sight and getting a second chance at love between a protective hero and a determined, and courageous heroine who both are not looking for love until the storm of the century changes everything for both of them. When Ariel meets Aiden during a rescue mission to evacuate injured workers on a oil rig due to a hurricane bearing on the gulf, their first meeting is explosive and filled with passion. Aiden falls for Ariel fast and hard as he never thought he would finally honor his dead wife's wish of finding love again as his only priorities have been raising his daughter and making sure he keeps his off shore oil rig crew safe.. Ariel is a helicopter pilot and war hero that has issues she is trying to overcome, but soon discovers that the attraction she has for Aiden may be worth a chance to open her heart again. Can it be possible to find your soulmate at first sight? Now they are all trying to survive this storm and get the injured off of this rig in time. With the storm bearing down on the oil rig fast, rescue may no longer be an option as it is too dangerous to take off, now they both have to make decisions to ensure everyone is safe as they ride out the storm. Who will survive all of the danger and chaos that surrounds them all? Will Aiden and Ariel get the second chance at love or will this storm destroy them all? Ariel and Aidens story is beautiful and fast paced. Ariel is a Medical Pilot who is still upset about the wreck that ended her military career. Aiden is the boss of the oil rig and loves control both in his professional and personal lives. He is also a widowed father to a very rambunctious 9 year old, Callie. On his late wife's deathbed he made a promise to move on and find love. A promise he hast been able to keep for the last 9 years. When a dangerous hurricane threatens the Gulf and two of his men are injured trying to prepare for the storm they need help to evaluate the injured. Ariel and her tram are dispatched to get the men out before the storm hits, but this storm has a mind of its own and traps them all on the rig to ride it out. The minute their eyes lock Aiden knows this is the woman his wife wanted him to find and she is the answer to fulfilling his last promise. Attraction and lust burn bright between them and things go from 0 to 60 fast. They both realize that this thing they have is special and they form a bond that is beautiful. Almost as fast as their feelings form the storm intensifies and grows too strong. The time comes where they must separate if they want to save their crews. A CAT 5 Hurricane brought them together, but will it also be the reason they are ripped apart forever? This book is worth the read and highly satisfying. I love Ellie Masters and she is such a gifted writer. Do yourself a favor and read this book it won't disappoint!

Thrilling

Saving Ariel is a high adrenaline, action packed and romantic story about Ariel and Aiden. I have to admit that I developed a girl crush on Ariel as she is one strong, independent woman who knows how to take care of herself. She is also a decorated soldier who flew helicopters. But due to an injury she was medically discharged and now she flies a MedEvac helicopter. Aiden is a widower who has a nine year old daughter. He is also the manager of an oil rig in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. Aiden is a man's man who is a strong and possessive Dominant, but yet he also melts for the women in his life. Ariel and Aiden meet when she is sent to fly two injured workers off his rig. At the same time Hurricane Julian is closing in fast and furious. Ariel and Aiden have an instant attraction but yet they are not hopping into bed together as this story is much more than just that, after all both characters are strong and multi-faceted.
This story is a thrill ride whether it is with the action or the romance....both will have your heart pounding. The story-line is intriguing and the characters are well developed. I really loved this well written book.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I adore a disaster movie and reading this book was just like that. An exciting, thrilling yet romantic storyline which kept the pages turning at speed

Strong characters made this book a great read, Ariel is one of the strongest female characters I’ve read in a while and I adore how EM gave her such a badass background.
Aiden had such a sad backstory which I equally loved and loathed. I love how strong he was and the message he took away from what happened but I did feel his ex did continue to colour him and his life even at the end which felt mildly unfair to Ariel. Having said that, Cassie and Mary were a joy to behold. Some more interaction with Cassie would have been welcomed and I do hope to see these characters later in the series.

The whole setting for the book was so different and nothing I’d ever read before which made this an interesting read from that standpoint, I did get mildly seasick just reading about it all it was so well described at times!

A great start to a new (or new to me..) series, excited to read more by this exciting author

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed Aiden and Ariel's story, they definitely had the insta lust thing down, their connection was undeniable and sparks definitely flew. It did take me a while to connect with their feelings for each other.
I'd of loved to of seen Aidan chase Ariel down a bit more.

One thing I did love straight away was Ariel this chick was badass. A freaking military Helicopter pilot. GAH!! I completely understood her reasons for keeping her personal life under wraps her job is very male orientated and I was in awe of the way she handled herself in all aspects of her life.

Aiden was pure alpha Male the kind of take charge, panty melting guy I love. His relationship with his daughter was beautiful and he gained major points on the swoon side for that. He's a guy you just can't fault in his job or personal life and he's sexy AF too, the perfect package.

If you want a fun, romantic, fast paced HEA love story that'll sweep you off your feet then you need this book. It has everything to make your heart beat a little faster and leave a smile on your face.
