Love on Impact

Abducted by space pirates to breed human women, Zoriss is one angry male when he hits atmosphere. After breaking his bonds and stealing an escape pod, he crash lands in remote Idaho. When Lumina rescues him, their bodies communicate beautifully, but with translator troubles, could he ever grow to trust her?

Lumina

It’s been ninety years since the last man was born on Earth. When the government allows three alien species to help us repopulate, I set my sights on a Draalian male. It felt like winning the lottery when one literally fell from the sky. What should have been a dream turns into a nightmare when I’m stranded in a remote cave with the galaxy’s most pissed off male. Because of our language barrier, I don’t understand why this intriguing male is so angry, but under the covers our bodies speak eloquently.

Zoriss

Not only was I abducted and brought to another planet, my stasis capsule malfunctioned. Instead of drifting into unconsciousness, I stayed awake for three interminable months unable to move or even scratch an itch. There was a lot of time to think during my journey, but only one thought pulsed through my mind. Revenge!

Although I want to blame her, Lumina’s gentle touch and affection soften my heart, and her passion sets me on fire. Learning my brother is in peril, I have to rescue him. Must I choose between my brother and the woman I’ve grown to love?

Love on Impact, written by Pinnacle Award winning, bestselling author, Alana Khan, is part of a collaboration of authors collectively known as Cosmic Kissed. This book has no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Disappointed

I was really excited to read this story, as I had previously read “Sirius” by this author and I loved it, especially loving the fact it had double virgins.

This story seemed just as promising, as the story is set against the backdrop of a world in which men have died off 90 years ago and the hero comes from a planet with dwindling females.

The hero has never had a sexual experience with anyone, and one would hope the same goes for thr heroine. Technically, she hasn’t. Not with a person. But she has had sex with a sexbot, lots of times and I found it grotesque and distasteful that her sexual awakening wasn’t with her soulmate but a lifeless, soulless robot. What made it even worse is that the hero hasn’t been screwing a sex doll, which would’ve been creepy and perverted, and so can experience the newness and wonder of sex for the first time with his soulmate. The heroine? She’s been broken in by a machine. So fucking unnecessary and gross.

Not to mention that this repugnant aspect of the story made no sense whatsoever. The heroine is trying to save “every credit” so she can pay the exorbitant fees to enter the alien matchmaking programs. What does she do, tho? She spends 2000 credits on a sexbot, happy to awaken her sexuality with a soulless robot instead of saving her money and waiting for that bond and connection to happen with her soulmate.

I don’t think I’ll be reading any more from this author, unless I can be sure there are no “sex with robots” involved.

It’s insta-attraction between the two main characters, but is also a very emotional story. You’ll feel like crying with the heroine when misunderstandings due to an inability to communicate both ways, create huge problems. And that’s not the only thing trying to keep them apart!

When most males on earth are killed by a virus 90 years ago, only females are left and humans are going to be extinct if they don’t find some males. Three alien species have been approved to come to earth to find mates. The plan was for it to be voluntary, but there’s always someone trying to make money on someone else’s misfortune. Pirates are selling alien males on the black market for a lot of money.

Zoriss is out having a drink with his brother Zorn and the next thing he knows he is in a stasis pod. For some reason his pod had a malfunction and he is paralyzed but aware of everything going on around him. For 3 months he is aware and furious! He is also worried about his brother, unaware that he was also kidnapped. He vows revenge on the pirates, but when he sees an escape pod he figures that is a better option for now. He manages to escape but realizes the pod has been sabotaged and he is unable to steer. One hard landing coming up!

Lumina is a veterinarian in Idaho and is hiking into a canyon to rescue a moose calf that someone saw tangled in wire in the river. She is almost to where the calf was last seen when a blazing silver ball crashes into the river almost in front of her. When the lid pops open she figures whoever is in there is dead, but she has to go look. She finds an unconscious nude Draal that is bleeding badly. She manages to drag him out of the pod and onto the door and drag him to a cave. She treats him the best she can until he wakes up. Lumina has always been fascinated by the Draal and has been saving her money for the very high fee to be allowed to mate with one. She can’t believe her luck!

When Zoriss wakes up he finds a human female treating his wounds. He doesn’t remember how he got there but he knows he isn’t on Draal anymore. He tries to talk to her but apparently her translator isn’t working. He can understand her but she doesn’t understand him, which turns out to be a good thing when his memory returns! She is shocked by the change in his behavior and she can’t figure out what happened. They are stuck in the cave for several days because of snow but also because he is in no condition to walk out. Eventually she figures out that there has been a big miscommunication and she reexplains how the process works. The females aren’t buying the males, they are just expected to help pay the cost of transporting the males that come voluntarily. They are supposed to go through official channels but of course some women get impatient and buy them illegal on the black market. He calms down and feels bad for the way he treated her but she can’t understand him. They finally get a break in the weather and hike out of the canyon. They are almost out when Lumina slips and falls getting a severe concussion. Zoriss carries her out and someone sees him and takes them both to the hospital. The next day Zoriss is mostly recovered but Lumina is still unconscious. Government officials come to the hospital and take Zoriss into custody. He refuses to leave until he sees Lumina. He gives the doctor a message for Lumina. He will find her. But the government officials tell him he can’t have Lumina for a mate because she hasn’t applied and he has to choose someone else. When Lumina wakes up she is devastated Zoriss left her until she finds out they handcuffed him and removed him at gunpoint. She gets Zoriss message from the doctor but she knows he can’t escape from such a highly secured facility.

How is she ever going to get him out of there and even if she does what will they do since he doesn’t have any papers. And how will he ever find his brother?

This is the second book in the series and another great one! I loved reading it after book one which tells Zorns story. You don’t need to read book one first. They are totally stand alone stories even though they are somewhat intertwined.

When Zoriss is kidnapped, his stasis pod malfunctions and he's left paralyzed but awake. For three whole months all he has heard is how paying Earth women only want him for one thing, ,well, two things actually. He hates them, if they would sanction this they have no honor! He must escape and find a way back to his brother. He could NEVER love a despicable Earth female.
Lumina is a veterinarian on her way to a mountain rescue when she investigate a crash only to find it's the male of her dreams! She has scrimped and saved to be able to afford the fees for the mating program, only to rescue a real live Draalian. They end up staying in a cave for the night then, are trapped when it snows.
With her translator not working, he is the only one that can understand their conversation but, they find that they really don't need words to communicate. Try as he might to be mad at her and despise her, he needs her warmth to stay alive. He's surprised when she doesn't turn him away in spite of his bad behavior even if she does make it clear that "no means no". Maybe the Earth females are not what he was lead to believe.
Zoriss ends up saving her and then they are forced to be separated. No matter what he says, they won't let him be with her. They say once he sees all the other women he'll forget her. Never! Now he not only has to find his brother, he also must find the only female on Earth he wants to be with.
They say she can't be with him but she will find her way to him, they will be together.
I like this book because even though he had preconceived notions, Lumina just kept being who she was. A wonderful, caring and helping person. He really didn't stand a chance.
Lumina's character was wonderful. She was smart and strong and called him on his crap.
I liked Love Uncaged best between the two. Maybe because of her army.
Sexy with some laughs and a HEA.

Another well-crafted story about a future you can't imagine until Alana Khan puts it into words. A world without men that threatens humanity with extinction. A future in which we are not alone in the universe and that means that aliens are brought to earth to ensure reproduction.
It is in the year 2180 that we live....

Zoriss is of the breed that could be compatible for breeding with humans. But instead of volunteering to do so, he is kidnapped and brought to Earth. Once his stasis pod is opened, he escapes in a capsule. Too late he realizes that it is half dismantled and that it will crash on Earth.

Lumina knows what she wants; save to get into the program where she will have the chance to find a mate among the 3 races approved to come to earth. She wants a Draalian, the reptilian creature. When she finds Zoriss badly injured in the pod, she brings him to safety. Without a working translator she doesn't know what he's saying, doesn't know if he's a danger but the attraction is clearly there and bodies speak a universal language. The woman's body heat is what keeps him alive despite his disgust at her and her kind.
How this ends in a HEA is why you MUST read this book.

A love-hate romance in a distant future. Where you will love the Draalians more and more (if only for their anatomy!!)

What I liked about this book? Well, of course I liked it a lot, I'm the author. But what stands out for me about this book is how much I enjoyed writing the couple's communication difficulties.

Zoriss crashes to Earth one angry guy because he was brought here against his will. He thinks all Earth women have approved the despicable practice of abducting alien males and forcing them to come here to breed. His translator works and Lumina's doesn't. Despite their communication difficulties, their attraction is immediate and scorching.

Zoriss can hold a grudge, though, and the two have to learn to trust and communicate to earn their happily ever after.

P.S. I also enjoyed the challenge of writing two books that travel the same timeline about Zoriss and his brother Zorn, Love Uncaged. I worked hard to make these two books, the two brothers, and the two heroines as different as night and day so readers could enjoy the same premise in two very diverse ways. I hope you agree and enjoy them both.

Zoriss and Lumina's story was a different style of alien abduction. This time it's the alien being "abducted" and brought to Earth. Zoriss and Lumina have a communication issue that doesn't seem like it's going to0 get sorted any time soon, but finally they are able to sort that issue. Then Zoriss tends to be come a bit of an asshole. He hasn't had it easy - not the least issue being the whereabouts of his brother Zorn.
Alana weaves her literary magic to bring us an amazing story set on Earth, but with a big twist.
I never tire of reading her stories, her amazing characters and environments, the emotion, and issues that seem so commonsense when aliens and humans come together. Of course there are going to be issues - communication, ability to breed, customs and rituals to discard for one group and adopt for the other. Sometime the way she sorts these issues leaves me in tears, other times rolling on the floor laughing. Some aliens you love to hate and others you hate to love, but they are all really interesting and each has such a unique story.
Highly recommended read

The whole concept of alien males being kidnapped and sold to women on earth was an interesting perspective. I really had to smile at Lumina and Zoriss’s communication troubles initially when a translator device was not working. As always, it is amazing what a bit of empathy, patience and forgiveness will do. It was enjoyable watching this pair sort out what was happening and how to proceed with what they wanted.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

I like the premise of this new series written by different authors. The idea is that Earth is run by women because there haven't been any male births in a very long time.

This one is about a reptilian race called /Draalians/. I loved learning about our hero /Zoriss/ and his bond with his brother. You can tell he is an honorable and caring male. He goes through some trauma in the beginning and I feel like that made me fall in like with him right away. Then he makes a huge leap and a critical misunderstanding ensues. I understood it from both sides and this made me fall in love with both our main characters. The heroine /Lumina/ is one smart cookie. She is a vet, who has the most caring heart. No matter the difficulty she is strong and thinks of others before herself. I loved the way this relationship evolved. The translation issues, misunderstandings, and laws really got in the way, but these two manage to get their HEA anyway. I definitely recommend this book! It was fun and I have pre-ordered all of them now :-)

I read his brother's book first and then U read this One and it clicked perfectly. Zoriss and Lumina's story is just so good. Zoriss was abducted from his world and was going to be sold to despertar human females. Yes because there are no men in the whole planet, at least men in breeding age. Guess what? We need the aliens but it is very expensive and it takes a lot of time to go thro the propper channels. Lumina's keeps dreaming that She can save the money to buy and entry. What She didn't dream was to save a dralien male from a crash while in a remote area without cell reception and with a huge canion to climb. Things don't go very well in the beginning but eventualy they find a way and It's so magical. I loved the Kiss both scene! A must read!

An interesting twist on alien abduction stories. Earth consists solely of females and has made an agreement with several planets to have males come to earth, make matches and produce children. Of course, for the right price, smugglers can provide men. This book has rich scenes, drama and humor as Zoriss and Lumina attempt to find their way toward each other. An entertaining read.

Great twist on alien abduction with the male being abducted instead. Great world building and character development as you would expect from this author. Plenty of drama and steam to keep you interested with a nice side of humor. Really enjoyable read- definitely recommend.

I read book 6 first and really liked it so I decided to give the series a try. Still pretty good but starting to see some commonalities in the stories. Hopefully the author branches out a bit.
But the aliens are hot and virgins and the heroines are brave and spunky, and we all know I like that. So I will dip into this well a 3rd time and let you know.

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 4/5
Innocence in losing it: 3/5
Build up to losing it: 3/5
Hotness of losing it: 3/5 (but it is terrible right after.)
Busted touching himself: no
POV of losing it: female

I have to tell you in advance that snakes scare the crud out of me. When I discovered the Draal were based on snakes, I thought, "No way, Jose!" After reading the story, I am still not real enthused about snake people, but Alana Khan has woven a truly exceptional romance with both planets leaning heavily towards only one gender being the most populous. On earth, males are nearly extinct. On Draal, females are rare. Both governments make a treaty to have males brought in to earth to mate with females with something like a marriage market and the Draal men get to choose their female from only those females.

Then comes the black market pirateers who kidnap a pair of brothers. One escapes into a emergency pod and crashlands where a lovely vet who is trying to help an injured moose calf finds him. This is their story and it is a good one. The romance is well written. There are adult situations so this should be read by mature audiences only. I would recommend the book even though I don't like snakes.

This talented author has once again written a fascinating & very entertaining Sci-Fi alien romance that definitely caught my attention within the first few pages. It has an outstanding, well-paced plot with an interesting twist and it is filled with suspense, good scene descriptions & world building. This book can be read as a standalone but there are two books that cover the journey of two brothers (Zoriss, Love on Impact) & (Zorn, Love Uncovered). In particular I really liked the way the romance developed between the two main characters (Lumina & Zoriss) & found their reactions to the situation and each other quite believable.
It is about: an abducted reptilian-looking Draalian alien male (Zoriss Krine) manages to escape & crash-land in Idaho on earth and is rescued by a human female veterinarian (Lumina) and the attractions begin to flare & just to make their lives a little more interesting, the government peacekeepers steps in & tries to manipulate Zoriss into another relationship but Lumina is quite determined to get her reptilian man & to find his clutchmate brother (Zorn).
There is: pirates, government officials, Newcomer facilities, adventure, action, some humour, intrigue, suspense, drama, abduction, vengeful feelings, trust issues, suspicions, translation issues, misunderstandings, complications, unexpected help, manipulations, determination, surprises, some steamy scenes, love & a wonderful happy ending.

On a planet where there are basically no men left womankind has decided insread to send out to the stars for some male company (how terrible). The drawback of this is that you have to have money and will also have to face the hatred and prejudice (read between the lines as jealousy and spite) of those who can't "order in" so to speak. Lumina however does not fall into either category. She does not have the money to buy herself a companion nor does she hate those who do. Imagine her surprise when she is out one day and a rather handsome, albeit extremely grumpy, draalian male practically falls into her lap. What could possibly go wrong? Zoriss is in literal hell. He has woken in stasis only to fight his way out and watch helplessly while his brother (Love Uncaged) is sent away. He has crashed on this forsaken planet and what is worse he cannot understand the locals. He knows full well what the women of this world want from him so why does the one he is stuck with seem to get under his skin so much. I loved this so much. Great worlds and characters!

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. What the ever desperate female of Earth is a male to mate, but was it right? Wow this is so different to read as the aliens role is in the reverse. It so well written with hilarious and steamy that cover up it's shock moments.   Over a three month time frame, Zoriss has been in awaking endless loop of undeniable nightmare. Pirates had hijacked his stasis pod a missing piece of hisself is missing, as the connection to Zorn is missing. Leaving insanity to settled in his mind with the revenge he will seek. After a call to check on a moose calf, Lumina is met with a delimmea as what to do when a craft lands in her path with an unknown male. A truce is formed between them but is the rage that is just under the surface going to boil over on to the female, after all it is her kind that had him brought here.

You know that famous expression, “ You had me at hello”? Yeah, right at the get go and all the way through, this will do it for you.
Ms. Khan thinks outside the box, coming up with new worlds, sexy new characters, and believable plots that are breathless in scope. And speaking of breathless, Oh. My. Goodness. That wicked, wicked alien! You’re gonna want one of your own.
I’m crazy about this title. He crashes, right? Boom! Dislike doesn’t take long to become true love.
Ms. Khan, you should have been a story teller as soon as you could hold a pencil. I’m so happy you’ve decided to share your unique stories with the world!

This was amazing i loved every single page. This book is about Zoriss a big strong sexy alpha male who is stolen from his home and brought to Earth to be a mate to Lumina.

Lumina is a fiesty business woman and has no man left on planet Earth to marry so when she gets home from work she finds a gift from her mother and it is totally unexpected.

When these two meet it is truly Cosmically kissed. They have both been locked in her home and must work together if they want to get out. This book has it all humor, romance, danger and best of all a fantastic HEA.

I know you will love it as much as i did. Be sure to pick up a copy you will be very very glad that you did.

A sweet and sexy alien alien abduction story, Zoriss and Lumina are super sweet together. I am really loving this Cosmic Kissed series and so far, this story is one of my favorites. The author doesn't paint an obvious bad guy to be the catalyst of the action, more like miscommunication that feeds the actions and emotions of the main characters. I read this in one sitting, it was fun and interesting and sweetly enjoyable as well as having descriptively carnal scenes as well. It was fun to read how they progressed through their relationship ups and downs.

Better

I enjoyed most of the story. It did have some more details then the first. Glad this did not have hate group unrealistic bit like first.
But I do not understand why the two planets did not have embassies and “real life” reality shows of the pairings to motivate more to travel, mate pair. Both their planets populations are dying. Would also expect if the temp is an issue on his planet, why dont they have cooler temperature hatchery for the eggs?
Would like a book with timeline that starts when these couples announce pairings, etc.

Nice, lighthearted read!

Enjoyed this new series- Cosmic Kissed. Male abducted and being sent to Earth against his will. Girl saving up to be able to join a mating agency to get the chance to fall in love with an alien male. Great premise with Earth being full of women looking for males instead Earth females being abducted. Not dark or too heavy. The right light mix of love, misunderstand, journey, and extra smexy times.

Sweet & Sexy

I loved this story, it was so sweet. This is such a fantastically created world with interesting alien males and take charge human females. The dialogue was hilarious at times and serious at others. I think I love the brothers as much as the Gladiator aliens in another series. I could seriously get into a new series with this race of aliens.

“Everything is really about family”

Love on Impact is the companion novel to Love Uncaged.
Zoriss and Lumina’s story starts with her rescuing him in a deep ravine. Through cold, language barriers, injuries and separation, they overcome every obstacle to find love and the realization that “everything is really about family”. Love on Impact is a sweet, sweet story.

Zorn and Zoriss got lucky. They were abducted to be sold to the black market but found love instead.

I loved the story. The same as that of his clutchmate Zorn, I couldn’t put the book down. Though I am wondering what their children would look like.
