Break Me Down

Rate this book
**Amazon Top 50 Seller**

Sons of Sin’s lead guitarist loves being the sin in their name. Because without Heaven, he’d rather fast-track to hell.

Ryder
Rage is all I know. All I’ve ever known, it seems. Except for that one moment-a brief year in my life where I experienced Heaven. But I crashed and burned as hard as Lucifer himself when she destroyed me. The rage came back, stronger than ever. And when she reappears in my life, when I learn the truth? Rage doesn’t begin to describe what I feel.

Heaven
He was my one. Out of the four of the hot guys that walked into my diner, I lusted after two, but fell for one. Until I learned something that shattered my heart. And now, in a cruel twist, the universe has thrown us back together. He learns my truth and I learn his. Unknowingly, I broke him all those years ago. Now he’s determined to break me.

Shattered and gutted, how do two people heal when apologies don’t fix the damage, and the truth comes out years too late?

Louisiana-born and raised Nola Marie loves spicy crawfish, rock music, high drama, and all the glitter, despite being extremely introverted with a severe case of anxiety. As a child, she preferred her imaginary friends to real ones and fiction to reality, a condition that has lingered and grown, and in 2019, she decided to share the voices in her head with the world.

When she's not writing, she can be found with her nose in some other fictional world or having conversations with people no one else can see, but it's okay. She's a writer ;-)

Feel free to find her and yell about her dramatic character through Instagram or Facebook. She loves to hear from you.

Heaven is sweet and innocent, all she wants from life is to get through high school and go to France to study art. At least that was her plan until Ryder and Maddox walked into her life. These two men have demons and kinks this seventeen year old girl had no business knowing about, but her feelings for them won’t let her walk away. She falls in love with Ryder but the one thing that he hates most in his life drives Heaven away from him. This story is giving me anxiety and chest pain. These two are so in love and you know there’s a slow moving train wreck about to happen to that love, but you can’t stop watching. Honestly I don’t know if I can take anymore bad news on Ryders behalf, I want this guy to be happy. Well I was not disappointed because the end was everything I wanted but with so much more. This book had me fist pumping and just happy on Christmas day. I loved this book and I’m giving it five stars, highly recommend it. Now I’m looking forward to reading Maddox’s story and I know it’s going to hurt. The author has also mentioned two other rockers in this book, I hope they have books of their own.

Break Me Down is the 4th book of the Sons of Sin series.
Nola brings us Ryker, the angry, dark, handsome male lead character.
And Heaven, beautiful, intelligent and innocent female lead.
Ryker comes from a tragic past and it scars him mentally.
The two meet in Heaven's place of work and the attraction is apparent straight away.
The two get ripped apart, and the story goes from there (no spoilers from me).
Nola wrote a brilliant, emotionally charged book that left me crying a lot.
I loved the characters and how they developed through the story.
The plot was thoroughly addictive, and I couldn't put it down.
If you like a Rockstar Alpha Male trope with plenty of spice, this is for you.
Please take notice of the trigger warnings before reading.
Looking forward to more of this series, particularly Maddox's story.

Break Me Down
Ryder.
One man.
The traumatized child within.
Two soulmates.
Three lovers.
One true love.
This is not your typical rockstar romance. Thank
There is trauma. There is abuse. There is pain. There is toxicity.
There is justice. There is loyalty. There is family. There is love. There is healing.
And redemption.

Sin and Temptation…

Ryder… oh how I love Ryder. And can we all talk about that chemistry at the beginning with him and Heaven!? *insert: fanning myself off* I love these two. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Nola Marie story if there wasn’t heartache, drama, and let me rip your soul in two pieces. BUT that’s why I love her books so much! Give me the feels!

And since this is a spoiler free review. Let me just say, the OTHER chemistry between a certain two is remarkable. The author wrote their connection in such a perfect way to not mislead us into thinking it was something other than what it was. It was enough to convince us that yes, they are both hurting, but their relationship was beautiful and only meant for taking each other’s pain away… so that being said. Ryder and Heaven. I’m here for it. I love it!

“I’m f$$king tired of hell.”

“Maybe you should start looking for Heaven.”

Nola Marie !!!!!!WHAT AN INTRO!!! Holy fuck!!! It felt like a shot gun to the chest.
This whole series is truly captivativating.
From the beginning Ryder and Maddox are my loves. And now that my thirst has been partially quenched I wait for the remaining story to be told, for complete fulfillment.
This series thrusts all the big emotions at you, you can't tell you from down or good from bad. It's truly amazing and I recommend this series to all who love rock stars, jaded pasts, hot sex, and amazing friendships.

Break Me Down by Nola Marie is the fourth book in the Sons of Sin series. Ryder and Heaven’s story is filled with raw, gut wrenching and painful angst. I truly was not expecting this book to go as dark as it did. This story is not for the faint of heart reader out there as referenced by the trigger warning. Ryder’s outlet for dealing with his pain and his co-dependent relationship with Maddox, another band member, is not something some of us can relate to. Through Nola’s writing, you can literally feel the anguish in Ryder as he struggles to deal with his anger, which is a by- product of the rage and helplessness he feels and has kept bottled up inside for years. Does Ryder come back from the brink? Does he get his HEA? You will have to read and find out for yourself. This one left me with a doozy of a book hangover. Hopefully I will have time to recover before Maddox’s story comes out…..

I received and ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

This is a fantastic 2nd chance romance with raw emotions

Ratings 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Break Me Down is the 4th book in the Son of Sin series.

I loved this book so much!! Nola Marie has written her best book to date, in my opinion. Kudos Nola 👏👏👏
This was a hard hitting Rockstar Second Chance Romance story that had a bit of a MM connection, but not in the normal romantic way that you used to reading, it complicated. I was actually fine with it ( and I don't normally read MM romance) Ryder and Maddox relationship is very complex and special one that's for sure, but then Ryder falls in love with Heaven adding her to mix it just became a story of raw emotions, all the feelings you want in a book, so much complexity, love, friendships, betrayals, drug and alcohol addictions, recovery, redemption, beautiful relationships, forgiveness.... family 👪 🥰
I cried so much with this one, heartbreaking moments. I advise you to have tissues handy.

Told in first person, dual POV, no cliffhanger and a start to a HEA. I highly recommend this book.
Needless to say that I'm totally excited about Maddox story.....can't wait!!

ARC was given by author thank you so much for giving me the to read this EPIC story of yours. My review is given completely voluntarily.

This is an emotional, epic read. It's like being at the top of a spiral staircase and seeing these three people come undone.

Ryder is hard to love but when he's falling you want to be there but he has a mental closet full of demons and ghosts. His journey is brutal and will make you shed a few tears but I like that he appreciate the people that were put in his life.

Heaven and Maddox are the two highlights on Ryder dark ride. These two bring complex, depth, heart, fear, confusion, anger and so much more to this story.

I love all three and how this book just floored me. I was rendered speechless and that's just not me. I would suggest that you have lots of tissues, disconnect all devices and after you read accept that it's okay to cry your heart out. No judgment. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I really don’t know how to feel about this book. I think it started off really strong then it kinda faded out slowly. I think the book starting with them in HS was a little weird to me given the sexual experiences that they shared with on another. Also, I almost feel like Maddox and Ryder were a better couple sometimes than Ryder and Heaven. Ryder was a slur throughout the whole book and I wish it was tuned down a little bit. I feel as though the book as lacking something. I was never really drawn in or had the feeling that I needed to read to get to the next part. I don’t think I would read another book from this series.

The prologue starts by letting us know that the rockstar H and h have an 8 yo son that the H doesn’t know about. Then we go back in time 10 years. I hate this method! It makes me want to rush through a book to get to the aha. They are both teens- she’s in hs and he’s in college. Ryder the H and his bff/boyfriend/ first soul mate/ ménage partner etc. etc. Maddox meet Heaven the h and want her. There’s several MM bdsm type scenes with Ryder and Maddox as Ryder pursues Heaven. Ryder has anger issues towards his Mother which is the root of his issues. He’s basically a sex addict and manwhore… although his main thing is Maddox… still he’s hot after Heaven’s v card which he ultimately gets and agrees to being monogamous with her. They’re together a year or so and honestly the rockstar stuff is so far in the background of this story that it’s basically just a prop. When Heaven gets pregnant Ryders Evil mother steps in and chases Heaven off. Flash forward 8 years and Ryder and Maddox are still together in a relationship… to me this book is more about them as a couple and their love than about Ryder and Heaven. Ryder finally finds out he has a kid and celebrates by being an asshole and exiting
To have a ménage with Havens coworkers right in front of her. Then he and Maddox go at it too. Ryder has a lot of sex with others…and never apologizes to
Heaven or grovels. This scene and the angst of it is just dropped and never discussed between the H and h. Anyway Ryder stays angry about Heaven not telling him about his son-until she tells him she is sick and has MS. She also Had tried to contact him about 3 times over the years but everytime she showed up at his place he was about to have a ménage with a couple of blondes. There’s really no good grovel in this book because it stays so focused on the MM relationship between Maddox and Ryder.Theres a lot about secondary characters… too much. Ryder and Heaven are apart most of the book. Ryder and Maddox are together most of the book. Maddox and Heaven weren’t competing though and actually have a great friendship. Ryder does finally admit he is in love with Heaven towards the end. This book could have left out about 100 pages and 15
Side characters and been a 5 star read. There was too much going on.

Two of the most complex characters I’ve ever read were written by Nola Marie, and both are in her Sons of Sins series. The first is the main male character in Break Me Down - Ryder Jameson.

Ryder is Sons of Sin’s lead guitarist and the angriest of its members. With good reason. Like his best friend, sometimes lover, and person who holds a piece of his soul, Maddox, says, having money doesn’t mean their lives are happy. And Ryder’s childhood is anything but.

But while it might be easy to be completely sympathetic to Ryder, Nola Marie offers deep insight into Heaven, the female MC, the woman who owns Ryder’s heart by exploring her early relationship with Ryder.

By the time the reader rejoins Ryder and Heaven in their present reality, the many heartbreaking truths and mistakes made by both characters leave the reader as heartbroken as the characters, and wanting nothing more than a full reconciliation with an HEA.

It’s a wild rollercoaster that takes the reader from the tortured depths to the highest pleasure. Ryder’s transformation is perfectly imperfect, adding a touch of realism. More, it sets the stage for the story of that other most complex character I mentioned. And Sons of Sin’s final story is one I cannot wait to read.

There is so much that can be said from this story, definitely not as much as the next one but Ryder’s story was filled with so much emotional turmoil on both MC’s behalf’s. Nola does a spectacular job of diving into the various intense emotions associated with these characters, along with some fun moments with Lyra and Tyler.

“𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕔𝕒𝕟 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕝𝕪, 𝕠𝕣 𝕀 𝕔𝕒𝕟 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦.  𝔼𝕚𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕪 𝕀 𝕨𝕚𝕟.”

Most everyone would love Heaven’s character, but I’m definitely not most everyone because she doesn’t deserve Ryder nor to be any part of his fucked up life. To me, she was extremely naïve which was to be expected from her initial age, but she never changed as the years passed. She’s selfish, never allowing Ryder a chance to explain his side, and I was completely against her decision to keep Tyler away from his father. She knew what type of person he was and she still made an important decision by herself.

ℍ𝕖’𝕤 𝕒𝕓𝕤𝕠𝕝𝕦𝕥𝕖𝕝𝕪 𝕝𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕝, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕀’𝕞 𝕒𝕗𝕣𝕒𝕚𝕕 𝕔𝕣𝕠𝕤𝕤𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕪 𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕖𝕤 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕙𝕚𝕞 𝕛𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕞𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕔𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕞𝕖 𝕞𝕪 𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕝.

Poor broken and damaged Ryder. I felt connected to both him and Maddox, understanding how their minds worked and why. The pain he was forced to endure at his vile mothers hands, then what Heaven put him through, was all completely unnecessary and could have been easily avoided. He’s such a beautiful soul, filled with so much animosity and hatred inside mixed with rage and control.

“𝔸𝕣𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕕𝕪 𝕥𝕠 𝕕𝕖𝕤𝕔𝕖𝕟𝕕 𝕚𝕟𝕥𝕠 𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕝?”

There’s nothing really to speak of regarding Nola’s smut scenes because if you’re familiar with her stories, then you are already aware of the fire and passion between these two. Ryder is not gentle by a long shot, nor is he easy. But, Maddox and Ryder were everything!!! Their chemistry was off the charts as usual, each giving the other exactly what they needed to survive. I cannot wait to see what she does with Maddox’s story, I already know she’s going to break my mind.

I've been waiting for Ryder and Maddox's story since I first started the Sons of Sin series, and although this is primarily Ryder's book...well, they're pretty much a package deal.

Ryder and Maddox have a complicated, co-dependent relationship. Both of them have suffered trauma that leaves them angry and looking to drown their feelings, and they only seem to find a calm with each other. That is, until they meet Heaven. Heaven knows that it would be trouble to involve herself in these men's lives, but she can't seem to say no, especially to Ryder. She is drawn to Ryder, and in Heaven, Ryder finds the peace that he's been seeking. Ryder's peace is short lived though when secrets and lies tear them apart, and Ryder's rage comes back stronger than ever.

There is a lot going on in this story, and many different issues (some of them difficult and triggering to some) are dealt with throughout this book. Ryder and Heaven's romance spans several years, and this story gives us a peek into their past before diving into their present. Although I could fully understand both Ryder and Heaven's views of the events that take place, I have to admit that I found myself angered by both of them at one time or another. They both make a lot of wrong decisions (in my opinion), and I really just wanted them to get their acts together.

Although Heaven and Ryder's story is the main focus in this book, there is a MM relationship with Ryder and Maddox here as well. Although these two men love each other, their relationship is verging on toxic at times. In the end though, I found myself almost torn about who I wanted Ryder to be with, so I can't wait to read Maddox's book next.

Yall I've had the distinct privilege to be a beta reader for this awesome lady!!! This is hands down one of my favorite... it has the most emotional rollercoaster BUT in a good way!!! You truly learn why Ryder feels as his does BUT also get alot of perspective on his friendship with Maddox... those 2 have enabled each other for so long they were bound to break eventually... BUT the love Ryder and Heaven have for each other is epic like so many other of Nolas characters... these 2 have been lead astray for so long due to not having the whole truths that it's truly is heaven colliding with hell as stated in many scenes!!! Dont let this epic read pass you by!!!

I finished Break Me Down.
Book #4 In Sons of Sin series about an Hour ago and I have just been sitting here thinking about what to say.

To be honest I wanna go back.. back the beginning of the book and start again, I didn't want it to finish!!
I had moments where I thought it might Break me down! It was freaking heartbreaking but so, so good!

That was one EPIC ride I just took.
Ryder, Maddox and Heaven.
Ryder and Heaven. Gahhhhh....
Wow. This story was AMAZING!

It was utterly breathtaking and Raw, the angst emotion I could feel through the pages.

The connection between Ryder and Heaven was beautiful..before the years and lies and games that were played and after. Actually after they were better and even more beautiful together! 🥰

Let's not forget to mention Ryder is sexy AF!! 🔥🔥

I CANNOT WAIT for Maddox's book. I Really need more from him. He was becoming a fave for me. So I am really looking forward to his book.

This series is so very worth reading. It's freaking great!!

I am voluntarily giving my honest opinion in exchange for an ARC.

O.k...I am having a difficult time writing a review...Because OMG My heart.
I really thought I was not going to be able to make it through this story in one piece, because in places I felt like I was shattering with heartbreak.
Heaven and Ryder's story did things to my emotions that I can't even comprehend.
Riveting me from the very beginning right until the end,I could not pull myself away even when I was an emotional wreck...lol..
To be honest I am at a loss for the right words to say.
This is a Beautiful and compelling story and Nola Marie's writing is truly Amazing all the passion, feelings, angst, drama and heart she puts into her stories is Overwhelming and every page is a masterpiece.
The chemistry and Love between Heaven and Ryder is intoxivating and consuming, their love story is not an easy one and Nola really puts you through it.

Nola Marie’s Break Me Down (Sons of Sin #4) book was so good I had to read it until I finished reading the last page. This Book! Just Wow! This Book has raw emotions, love, heartbreak, secrets abound, with tortured souls that want to be understood. I was blown away by how well Nola Marie could get inside her characters until they seemed so tangible that a week later, my thoughts still lingered on Heaven, Ryland, and Maddox. Their lives intertwine in a complex way of friends and lovers that constantly cross paths. A few adjectives to describe Break Me Down are “unique, incredible, mind-blowing, totally extraordinary, and a fantastic” read! You will need tissues, but the broken souls will have their HEA in the end. Nola Marie has arrived in the exclusive elite rock star writer status that her books consume the reader to never having read enough of her books! Her fifth Book in the Sons of Sin series, Shed My Skin, will be arriving in March 2022. I can’t wait to read the next Book about another bad boy that needs his HEA.

Break Me Down ARC review

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5

I am absolutely speechless right now after reading Ryder’s and Heaven’s story. Wow Nola, this was epic. I knew that this is going to be an amazing read but what we got was way more than expected.

So much emotion and heartbreak within this story had me gripping on my seat, I think I might had anxiety at some point because of the intensity in it. I couldn’t put this down from the start and as I was reading these pages I was either swooning over Ryder and Heaven’s passion or bawling my eyes out.

I loved Ryder and Heaven and their story. He was her perfect storm and she was his gravity. And there we have Maddox who is equally broken and the only way to get through the struggles is the pain and the deeper friendship between him and Ryder.

I will need a big recovery after this one because like I mentioned before this story was absolutely epic.

I first feel in love with Nola’s writing when I read Fighting For His Life and this is where all these boys first made their appearance . And since then, all these boys have been growing on me and I can’t wait for more and specially Maddox 😉

This is absolutely beautiful story and I would highly recommend to everyone ❤️

I received this ARC and as usual Nola Marie has hit it out of the park. I wasn’t invested in RYDER'S character in the books prior, but now I cannot stop thinking about him. At first I didn’t know what to expect of Ryder & Maddox’s relationship (NO JUDGEMENT on M/M or RH TROPES It’s just not my go to because honestly I fantasize about myself in the female role…LOL). But by a couple of chapters in I was hooked and started to really understand the connection between the guys and how it went beyond the sex. Then to see the instant connection of Heaven & Ryder was amazing. Heaven’s innocence combined with Ryder’s fragility had me emotional for the characters. I was on edge hoping Ryder’s spirit didn’t break beyond repair. This book is emotional, steamy and deals with some tough topics. I’m anxiously awaiting Maddox’s book even more so.

Somehow every book in this series gets better and better. I absolutely loved Break Me Down so much.

Throughout the series Nola had been bringing up that Ryder and Maddox have quite a story to tell and this book really helped see Ryder’s story as well as find out a bit more about Maddox.

I loved seeing the relationship between Heaven and Ryder and their story is so gripping I felt like I couldn’t put the book down.

I highly recommend this book to fans of dark romance and if you haven’t already make sure you read the previous three books in the series as well. Make sure to check trigger warnings before reading.

My God...
I'm so lost. I don't know how to function after finishing a Nola Marie book. While you're reading, you're taken to a place that's so imperfect but you want to be there. You feel such emotion that in your head, these are real people. By the end, you're left with a sense of peace because the endings are always perfect for each character. Then there's this sense of dread because you're no longer in that world until there's another book for you to devour. With each book in this series thus far, I've grown to love this family. You cannot classify them as anything else. They are a growing family and I've loved EVERY second of it.
If you're anything like me and have had a soft spot for Ryder and Maddox from the jump, Break Me Down, is going to f*ck you up! Money didn't buy them happiness. Being beautiful only amounted to judgment. Their vises were masks that were bound to slip.
I started reading and only stopped to get a few hours of sleep so I could get back into it. I didn't think I could love or hurt for them more. Then here comes all the trauma that makes you want to hug them and a piece of Heaven (God, I loved her strong will and determination) collided with their worlds. She was a puzzle piece that fit from the start. She didn't just see Ryder and loved him with his flaws and all, she saw Maddox, too, and I felt a bond I hope will help him with his own journey to peace and happiness when it's time.
I understood Heaven on a deep level. She tried so hard to love Ryder before he was truly ready to allow that. Her decisions were based on emotion and what she thought she knew. Later, Heaven solidified her place for me with her limitless effort to keep everything afloat. Even when the scenes weren't about her and Ryder, they revealed why she was perfect for him.
Like Ryder, I'm hoping there is a piece out there for Maddox. A reason to view life and himself as worthy.
Tyler, like all of the 2nd Gen SoS, has earned a piece of my heart instantly. Smart as a whip. His Dad's clone, which is super cute in my mind. A ball of energy that's going to make the guys gray early, which is also super hot in my mind. The way he loved his Dad absolutely killed my ability to not "aww" out loud several times. I'm selfishly hoping we'll see his story in the near future.
Overall, I couldn't get enough. It was easy to understand what drove Ryder and Heaven apart and it made me love them together a million times more. She truly centered him. He was floating aimlessly without and she wasn't as whole without him. They are the perfect example of the saying that what's meant to be will be. Nothing worth having is without risks and their risks led them both to where they needed to be.
I am all over the place with this review because that's what this book did to me! Like the title, this book will break you but by the end, it was all worth it.

Let’s start off with the very beginning. It’s starts with a trope I cannot stand. The love child daddy doesn’t know about. This trope is almost 100% of the time a mood killer for me. So going into it, it already lost a star. HOWEVER - I am invested in this series and these guys. I want to know their stories. So I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt.

Getting into it, we flash back to the beginning of the relationship between our boy Ryder and Heaven. Immediately I feel a connection to Heaven for a silly reason - my name was incorrect initially at birth as well! Heaven is much cuter than Jezziza though in my opinion, so thankfully my parents didn’t leave it!

However, my life experiences were much closer to Ryder’s and that made this a hard book to read. It’s emotional. It delves into difficult topics like family ties that some people struggle to understand. Honestly this book took me a long time to get through because I needed the time to breathe and sort it out.

There are a lot of triggers in this book as well - as with all of these books there are drugs and alcohol but another big one in this book is abortion. There’s also a good amount of death.

The miscommunication in this one had me ripping my hair out. Believe me I get it, on both sides. But oh my Lordy so much could have been avoided for so long with better communication skills! We know from past books that Ryder and Maddox do not have stellar communication skills and it’s clear that Heaven is no help with that either. The first half of this book being a flashback had me feeling all sorts of ways (so many emotions guys! All the emotions) and then the hits just kept coming.

Was there a HEA for our Ryder? Well you’ll just have to read it to see!

I have been waiting for Ryder and Maddox to be in the limelight as they are the two most intriguing men that I have been introduced to. Break Me Down is a story full of angst, heartbreak, innocence, love and relationships that are formed and the need for one another. Yes, this book is about Ryder and Heaven and the hurt, betrayal and love they have for one another however, Maddox plays a pivotal role in their relationship. There were times that I wanted to tell Heaven to run as fast as she can in the other direction but at the same time, I knew she would see the good in Ryder, even if he didn’t.

Heaven seems a bit of a rebel with her purple hair and tattoos but she really is a sweet and innocent 17-year old that has her life planned out. She wants to go to art school in France and works hard at her talent in the arts. While working one day at the diner four handsome guys walk in and she is taken back by two of them, Ryder and Maddox. The flirting starts and she doesn’t know how to react. Heaven is surprised that they give her their numbers and tell her they want to see her again. Over time they keep showing up at her dorm and her work. She does go away with them for a weekend and she is introduced to a lifestyle that Ryder and Maddox have come to live. How does she react? Heavens and Ryder do cross that line of friendship and for the most part, it is beautiful. Can their relationship handle the person that Ryder is when he is not calm or in control? When Heaven says or does the wrong thing, what are Ryder’s actions say about how he feels about her? When Heaven gets some news that she never thought she would ever get, how will they both deal with it? With the curve that life throws at her, Heaven tries her best to survive and live with the decisions that she has had to make.

Ryder is the sexy guitarist for the Sons of Sin band. He has had a rough life but he does come from a well-off family. He has formed a unique relationship with Maddox, a very close friend and bandmate. He lives the life of sex, drugs and rock and roll however when he meets Heaven, Pixie, he has seconds thoughts. Is he attracted to the idea of the case and her innocence that drives him or is it more that he does not want to admit to? When he finally gets her to spend time with him he does not push her out of her comfort zone until the weekend they all go away and she sees something that she shouldn’t have. Can Heaven forget what she saw? How will Ryder deal with her feelings? He keeps wanting to spend time with her but he is at odds on why he has this pull towards her. His relationship with Maddox is one that is based on needs and the fact that Maddox knows why he feels the way he does, shows their closeness. Ryder has a demon living in him that he doesn’t want Heaven to see or feel the wrath of, but that doesn’t happen. He breaks her heart and their life changes. Will she give him a second chance? When he has his heartbroken will his demon come out for good?

There is so much more to this story that I want to share but won’t. I’m still suffering from a book hangover and I feel that I will for a long time. Nola had my stomach in knots, my heart actually stopped beating and a few tears left my eyes. Ryder is a lost soul that you want to take in and show him how much love he has and deserves. Heaven is a soul that wants to save and love everyone as well as see the best in them. I highly recommend Break Me Down however, make sure you are in a comfortable spot and have a lot of time as you will be unable to put this book down.

“Are you ready to descend into hell?”

Yes, yes I am, and Nola Marie is an amazing tour guide. She absolutely loves to torture her leads and shatter their hearts, mine included.

See that on the ground? That’s my heart broken into a gazillion pieces. I may or may not find them all again.

Heaven, oh, Heaven. She’s my favorite type of fun-sized heroine, proving that sweetness and strength are not mutually exclusive.

And if you love your heroes beautifully broken, well, wait til you meet Ryder. Nola Marie writes him so tormented, so damaged, so filled with anger and guilt and (self) hatred that he was at times nearly unbearably painful to read.

I loved every second of it.

It all made the road back to Heaven and to their well-earned HEA that much more satisfying.

“Peace. It’s what I’ve wanted for so long.”

Finally, couldn’t write this review without mentioning generous, perceptive, insanely sexy, and (irreparably?) damaged Maddox. I’ll say it now. I love love love love him, claim him, and can’t wait for his HEA. As far as his role in this love story, I find myself at a loss for words. Just know that it’s not quite a love triangle, just a soul-deep beautiful friendship which was, at one time, rooted in unhealthy need and toxicity.

Anyways, Nola Marie pretty much broke me with her epic BREAK ME DOWN, and I can’t wait for her to do it again with Maddox’s SHED MY SKIN.

Thank you Nola for sending me a copy of your book to read and review.

Book 4 in the Sons of Sin series

WOW!!!!!! I have been looking forward to this book soo much and it did not disappoint.

Ryder, OMG Ryder!! a man with a broken past that is fighting for every moment of his living life and heaven, the beautiful and sweet Heaven, a girl who has demons of her own but still remains sweet and innocent. That is until two devilishly handsome Rockstar's bound into her workplace, causing sparks to fly and he heart to swoon.

Ryder and heaven have an instant attraction but heaven commits the cardinal sin on Ryder and its one he has to walk away from but will it be for good???

This book was an incredible read, There was angst, heart-ache and pain that you could literally feel with every word written. At one point I had to put the book down just to give myself a moment to regroup because it was so heart wrenching.

Nola Marie has seriously written an incredible story, one that will compltlyl break you but then mend it all back together. because that ending was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I was literaly sat with a smile on my face for hours after reading it.

I Bloody Loved this book.

My Overall Rating is 5 💋💋💋💋💋
My Passion Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋

The heartaches, the dramas, and the relationships going into this story was so deep and raw that I was hooked with the storyline. The pain that Ryder and Heaven endured was emotional as they finally connected after a miscommunication that drove them apart for years. It was nice to see their journey as they start anew and find their future together.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Just when I think I can't love Nola Marie's Sons of Sin series anymore, she blows me away with Ryder's story.

This book literally pulled EVERY human emotion out of me. I actually found myself so consumed in Nola's brilliant storyline and writing that it felt too real for me. At one point, I had to stop reading to catch my own breath. It is very deep in parts but so worth the emotional ride.

Ryder is a bad boy rockstar for the group Sons of Sin. He is intense, self punishing, and an explosion waiting to go off. The one guarantee you get from Ryder is the truth, no matter how harsh it may be. Ryder is one of the darkest characters I've ever read but you cant help but love him.. Especially when you learn of where his darkness comes from. Oh and in case you didn't already know, he's hot as hell. 🔥

Heaven is a sweet, hardworking, innocent girl who has so much love to give but knows she's not ready for the intensity that is Ryder. Just wanting to finish school, her only choice is friends only with Maddox and Ryder, or so she thinks.

"𝕀 𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕔𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝕞𝕪𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕗 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕚𝕠𝕦𝕤. 𝕀'𝕧𝕖 𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕒𝕗𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕖, 𝕓𝕦𝕥 𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕜𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕥 𝕙𝕖𝕣, 𝕀 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕨 ℍ𝕖𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕟 𝕚𝕤 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝."

When their worlds collide nothing good can come of it but the power to stop it is impossible. When Ryder loves, he loves hard. Heaven is more than willing to except Ryder and all his darkness...but you know what they say about darkness, it takes a powerful light to show you the way out. Is Heaven a bright enough light for Ryder? Does Ryder even want out of the darkness?

Maddox is a much larger part of Ryder's story than I originally thought and you learn so much about their dependency and understanding of each other. I'm so ready for Maddox's story now.

The book is 100% a MUST read. Just be prepared for some really dark, messed up situations that Nola gives a heads up on before you dive in.

"𝕀 𝕒𝕝𝕨𝕒𝕪𝕤 𝕜𝕟𝕖𝕨 ℍ𝕖𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕟 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕨𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕚𝕕𝕖. 𝕀 𝕛𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕖𝕩𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕖𝕕 𝕚𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕓𝕖 𝕖𝕩𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕝𝕪 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕀 𝕟𝕖𝕖𝕕𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖𝕥𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕨𝕙𝕠𝕝𝕖."

Dark love story ! Possible spoilers

If you're into dark romance and Rockstar romance then this book is for you . The characters are very raw and their way of coping is not healthy . They fall a few times before standing up and getting help . There are twist , darkness , hot and steamy sexy times and acceptance . If this is your genre you will really enjoy this book ! Make sure you read the trigger warnings to make sure this book is for you 🙂
