Ostatnio zainteresowałem się geologią i ponieważ urlop spędzałęm w Beskidach chodząc po szlakach górskich chciałem pozbierać trochę kamieni i skał. Postanowiłem więc sięgnąć po tą książkę aby lepiej wiedzieć czego i jak szukać. Co prawda jest to poradnik dla poszukiwaczy minerałów i kamieni po kontynencie Północno Amerykańskim, znalazłem w nim sporo użytecznych wskazówek i o dziwo chodząc po szlakach Beskidzkich udało mi się znaleźć kilka ciekawych okazów i to nawet nie musiałem się przy tym za bardzo wysilać. Najbardziej dumny jestem ze znalezienia syderytu. No i jestem w stanie teraz lepiej rozróżnić od siebie poszczególne skały osadowe występujące w Beskidach.

This was a pretty good, comprehensive overview of rockhounding and I learned a lot but the title doesn't lie when it says it's for beginners. If you want something more in-depth this probably isn't the book for you. However, if you're just starting this is a great one to pick up

A lot of information, but it would be helpful for pics of what gravel looks like in the ocean, what gravel deposits would look like, etc. let a true beginner know what they are looking for.
