This book annoyed the fuck out of me.
THE BEST THING IN THIS BOOK FOR ME WAS THE SPICE.
Literally just the spice. It was hot, it was frequent, it was detailed, I loved it.
But him???? He’s obsessed with her having no makeup on, wearing yoga pants, being hot as fuck. He’s obsessed with her ass and the entire first half of me reading I was like 🙄🙄 Giving very much male gaze vibe.
Did he get better towards the end? Sure. A smidge. But not enough

The heroine: Kendall Roy - A graphic artist who moved to Hollywood to be the personal assistant to her sister who is a reality television start and a diva to boot. While in a meeting with her sister’s entertainment lawyer and agent, Kendall is offered a chance to be on a new and highly anticipated reality show.
The Hero(es): Dominic Dalton - An entertainment lawyer. He has a rule about dating his clients, mostly because he leads a private life and doesn’t want to be in the limelight. He works at a law firm with his brothers, each of them practice a different type of law.
The Story: Kendall and Dominic meet in a bar and have a one night stand, then part ways until they find themselves in the same meeting hours later. Dominic is impressed by Kendall’s beauty and personality and thinks she is a perfect fit for the new reality series that is going to start filming soon and lost a cast member.
The book begins when the Hero and heroine see each other across a crowded bar and exchange some glances, then he sees her later. He basically tells her he wants her and does whatever he can to get what he wants. He tells her she has 10 seconds to decide if she wants him or wants to walk away then starts counting down. I personally would have walked away. She just stands there until he kisses her and tells her to start walking or he will carry her.
At that first meeting, Dominic just seemed way too cocky and high handed and it bothered me how quickly they went from exchanging names to intimate contact, but I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised since she went out to a club without panties, giving easy access. Also his thoughts kept referring to his “tip” and his “crown” which drove me crazy.
I have to say after that first meeting I was about to quit the book but it got much better fairly soon. The intimate scenes were sizzling hot and there were quite a few of them, but there was a good story to go with and some great supporting characters including Charlize who was a fabulous friend, the sister Daisy who makes a good villain, and Dominic’s brothers Ford and Jenner.
The narration was done by Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige and they both did a great job. Their voices sounded age appropriate for the characters and I love it when there is dual narration. I enjoyed listening to this one and if you like the celebrity trope this was a great book. I liked that the “star” was the heroine.

i hated the writing— how many times are you gonna describe her body? i fucking get it i don't want that to be the only point of the book.
the spice was boring. if the author actually put some effort into her characters, the spice would be great. it had potential but if they have an insta love moment from the first chapter and they do it from the beginning, what the fuck is the point of the 300 extra pages?
i have nothing against smut. i love smut. if you aren't writing a novella then add something more. something like at least sexual tension?? come on?
he literally saw her enter a bar, his dick grew and he went up to her and fucked her... i'm fucking bored.
i skim read this after chapter 7 because i was going to fall asleep. hence the 1 star. not worth the time or effort.

Ahhhh! I said it countless times and I'll say it again: Marni Mann can write the dictionary and it will be EPIC! Whatever the genre - Romantic Suspense, riveting Romance or an emotional heart-wrenching blockbuster - she can always deliver and then some! The Lawyer, the first book in the The Dalton Brothers series is nothing short of amazing. It is the Marni Mann that we have come to love and adore but with more of a lighter and sexier feel. Diehard fans of The Agency series are in for a delicious surprise as The Lawyer takes place in that world with familiar faces and characters that we can't get enough of. I was addicted to every word!!
Dominick and Kendall are nothing short of extraordinary. Their love story is so swoony, magical and filled to the brim with the sensuality we can expect from Mann but with a hero that is alpha, rugged and uber protective like only she can pen. I am obsessed with the love between Dominick and Kendall and the fiery attraction between them. Their story has combustible chemistry, a HOT AF dirty talking hero and a compelling story that is modern, fun and so romantic! This was definitely a miss for me. Most of the plot was just sex and I didn't really care for the whole reality show plot that felt more like a subplot. Vindictive siblings also aren't my favorites, and the heroine's sister was pretty awful and treated her like crap. I really didn't get the whole reality show plot because that wasn't really fleshed out at all. We know the heroine was picked for a new reality show, but we barely got to see what it was or who she was really filming with. It sounded like the premise was just to see her go out? But the only times we really saw that was when drama happened and the hero had to show up. I just wanted a lot more time actually spent developing the relationship and the plot instead of watching them hook up over and over again.

Marni Mann sure knows how to bring the sexy and glamorous to a new series and she certainly held nothing back with this one. The Lawyer gave us a taste of a reality star’s life, drama behind the scenes and the forbidden aspect of falling for a man who’s made it his life’s mission to stay out of the public eye.
Kendall is the type of woman that will do anything for the person that she loves and her sister was no exception. Moving to California to be her assistant and help her navigate her fame, Kendall knows that she is in for one heck of a ride. But that’s nothing compared to the madness that she’s about to enter when she becomes a star herself all thanks to a handsome lawyer.
Dominick Dalton has always been the straightforward no nonsense type of guy and that applies to his work as well. Along with his brothers, he’s one of the best lawyers in the business and everyone knows it. When he meets a gorgeous woman the night before, Dominick has no idea how much she’s going to change the course of his life.
I haven't read a lot of hollywood type romance books but I was looking for something a little different and I definitely found it with this one. The setting was different, the characters were pillow snuffing worthy if you know what I mean and you got the inevitable drama.
Now even though we were entertained by that for a while,I still had a bit of a hard time with this one. I couldn't fully connect with Dominick and Kendall as a couple because they needed more time together. Their relationship felt like we were going on a motorcycle ride at 180mph and I just needed them to slow down a bit.
If you’re a fan of Marni’s work like me, then I know that you’re excited to read a new series from her. What didn't work for me, might just be the one thing that you will fall in love with.

Well, wasn't this just the spicy little number. Ovary approved!
The Lawyer is an erotic romance in the brand new Dalton Brothers series, and after this book, I am so here for it!
Now generally, I don't love when a book starts with an immediate bang, if you catch my drift. I like the burn. I want the anticipation of it. I want the feels. But damn it all if I minded for even a second that we get right to the good stuff here. The very second that Dominick appears on the pages with his dominant, alpha male energy that's just oozing sexual appeal, I couldn't care less what happens. And when the man lays his eyes on a beautiful stranger at a bar, he's not shy going after her. But what both anticipate to be a one night stand turns out to be much more.
Kendall moved from home to work for her reality star sister, or as I like to call her, the wicked witch of blah. Because my GOD did I hate that woman. But I digress. Kendall never wanted the stardom like her sister does, but her beauty and charisma is exactly what Dominick is looking for in a new reality star. He can shut off their chemistry for a second and look at it as business only. HA!
This was one of those books that I didn't really care about the plot but more about the romance, if that makes sense. The Hollywood thing in books isn't my cuppa, but I didn't mind it here. I did wish I got to see a bit more of Kendall's backbone when it came to her selfish sister, but it didn't fully come until the very end. I also loved seeing the ultimate playboy and self professed womanizer fall for the girl and become her biggest defender.
All in all it was a fun, fluffy but steamy romance that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Lawyer is the first book in Marni Mann's new series The Dalton Brothers. If you want an extra steamy book set in Hollywood, with powerful men in suits then this is the perfect book for you!
The Lawyer follows Kendall, who meets Dominik in a club and they share a night of passion but the next time they see each other they discover that Dominik is her sister's lawyer. The Lawyer is the perfect combination of steamy scenes and story. Kendall moved to Los Angeles to help her famous sister, but her lawyer wants to make Kendall a star. Kendall never thought about being a TV star but can't turn down the opportunity. Dominick is instantly attracted to Kendall, but he is never the type to fall in love and hates the spotlight. Will their one night stand turn into something more? Dominick and Kendall's interactions are entertaining. I really enjoyed this story and found the characters interesting. The Lawyer is not a book to eat while hungry and will make you crave pancakes. I usually don't like erotic books but this had enough story to keep me interested. I recommend The Lawyer to romance fans looking for a steamy read.

I think this is probably the hottest book I’ve read this whole year🥵🔥 This was my first Marni Mann book and i really enjoyed her writing style and her ability to make the reader feel things she wants them to feel.
Kendall Roy was such a refreshing character to read. She was so kind and thoughtful and seeing her sister treat her the way she did had me going crazy cause bb kendall deserves better💔 I’m glad that she stepped out of her sister shadow to do something she actually wanted to do for herself and I really admire her strength. She had a heart of gold and I’m so glad she got her HEA.
Dominick Dalton, god that man oozes power and sex. I loved his relationship with his brothers and specially his niece. I swear to god, whenever i see a hero with kids my heart goes 🥵🥺😍🤧✨💜💃🏼 so ngl, that made me like him even more. I personally liked how he was with Kendall and how protective he was of her. The getaway he planned for her had me awwing out loud and every sweet thing he did for her was just bad for my health.
What didn’t really work for me was I felt the plot was missing and I’m always a sucker for good plots when it comes to romance so not having a good plot kinda reduced my enjoyment level and I couldn’t really relate to the characters which was a bummer too.
But still, this book in terms of only romance was fucking good and the chemistry between the MCs was off the charts! I cant wait to read more of this author’s works!✨

From Miss Mann, I was expecting a twist that slap me on the head. That is her signature writing, BTW. So I was so eager to listen to The Lawyer.
The Lawyer is hot. Really hot. Miss Mann outdone herself with that so much hotness. Aside from the sexy times, the story is below the standard for Miss Mann. I really expecting so much more. Even bossy Dominic can not save the book.
Overall, I give it 3 stars. Credit to the hotness element.

By the end, it’s entertaining, steamy, and dramatic, but the lack of emotional depth and substantial plot kept it from rising above a 3 ⭐️ rating.
I won’t be picking up any of the next books in the series because of this unfortunately.

HELLO STEAMY! After some more heavy emotional stories, Marni hits us with a lighter, sexier one, but still with the trademark MM complexity. After overheating in the first few chapters, I knew I was going to adore this new Dalton Brothers series- and I am already in love with all of them. We have an amazing balance of sizzle, angst, swoon, and charming chemistry and character growth.
The romance starts super lusty, but these two build a deeper connection as they both grapple with what they want in life and with each other. Dominick and Kendall start with a bang (wink wink)- tons of fire and sizzling chemistry. And, as the story unfolds, we get to know the, their aspirations, and their depth better. Dominick is just yummy- a bit alpha, super protective, possessive, the perpetual bachelor with lots of swoon and just enough edge. And, I always love dirty talking, protective hero- meow! His dynamic with Kendall was captivating- that push-pull, back and forth early on as they tried to navigate their one-night connection once it breached their real life, but especially when they gave into each other. It was interesting to see the ways in which the LA celebrity type life played into this story- particularly with Kendall as she tried to figure out what she wants and who to invest in. She took a minute to grow on me, in part because I think she was still figuring out who she was in this LA/fame world, and when she settled into herself a bit more, I really loved her. And, I really loved the dynamics with the brothers.

I was this 🤏🏻 close to dnfing it...
It was too insta-lust and at first I thought that the MCs had only sexual chemistry so you can see why I considered leaving it unfinished.
Thankfully, that changed and for the most part I had a good time reading this. The plot was okay for me but someone else might enjoy it more.
One of the things that annoyed me a lot was that at least in the first half of the book the H was always talking/thinking about h's body (another reason why I considered dnfing it). We get it, he liked her "perfect body" but that doesn't mean that women with curves aren't beautiful. I have to say that I wanted to lower my rating just for that.
The steamy scenes were plenty but a few of them might be among the worst I've read, I rolled my eyes a lot while reading them. 🤭
Overall, an okay read but I'm not sure if I'll continue reading the series. 3 ⭐

This is an insta love erotica that felt like it had more sex scenes than dialogue. If you're in the mood for a scorching hot love story then this one is for you.

I knew she wrote erotica before but I just don't know her to write books like this so it came as a bit of a disappointment. Dominic is a real dirty talker and this book is full of sex and smut at every turn since the very beginning... Which works just fine by me! 😁😁
Here and there I love to read celebrities or rockstars romance, cause it looks like something you could really see happening on a gossip TV show 😂😂
This one goes around reality TV stars and private invasion... But it's really focused on Dominic and Kendall relationship from a one night stand/insta lust, to a full on public commitment.
It really entertained me while i was listening, even if there's basically no angst or drama between the main couple. It's basically body language and basic instincts between them.
All the fight here happens between Kendall and her sister Daisy.
So if you're looking for something easy and really hot to read/listen, this is your book!

I love story like this that the hero immediately wants the heroine even when so many woman around them.. he only look and obsessing the heroine…

So as I mentioned, I have been reading Marni Mann on and off for a long time. She is extremely talented in my opinion, writes any number of genres, and always delivers. The Lawyer is the first entry to her Dalton Brothers series.

From this first entry, Ms. Mann has decided to put the pedal to metal and go full throttle. This is not for the shy. This is a full-contact sexy time from the start to the very end. Be ready for a hook-up that has sparks, a surprise connection after, and a fantasy offered.
You see we have Kendall, a woman who has a sister who has become a huge celebrity by being a reality star. This sister, Daisy is a horror. She pretends on camera to be the sweetest, loving, wonderful person but the minute the camera is turned off, she is a witch of the highest degree. She has not been able to hold onto an assistant for longer than a couple of weeks and begged her sister to come and work for her.
Of course, Daisy thinks she has done a favor for Kendall, not that she needed her. Kendall loves her sis, has always looked out for her, and decided to come and help. Since she has been out in Los Angeles she has learned how difficult managing Daisy is, juggling all of her social media, editing all the stories, and doing whatever else Daisy needs.
Dominick Dalton is the entertainment attorney everyone wants to represent them. He is demanding, charming, and always gets his way. He has connections that are golden with studio heads, agents, and managers. His brothers all are at the top of their games, each focused on different areas of business.
Dominick is at a bar with his brothers and he sees this woman across the room. She is stunning, different from what he usually looks for, and cannot resist finding her later that night outside the ladies' room.
These two have a connection, Dom caging her in the hallway, talking into her ear, and telling her Exactly What He Wants To Do With Her. YUP, Dom doesn't Play...He just lays it out there and bam...
Cue, Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On.
So after waking the next morning and leaving a note for Dom, Kendall scurries out to get to a meeting Daisy has with her agent, manager, and attorney. Kendall has to get the coffee for Daisy or there will be hell to pay.
This causes her to be late and when she comes into the meeting she quickly gives the drink to her sister while hearing all the ugly things her sister says about her. When she finally is seated, she almost does a spit-take when she is introduced to the attorney, Dominick Dalton.
Kendall pretends she doesn't know Dom and he plays along. Both of them are so into each other, it takes everything Dom has not to sweep Kendall out of the meeting and pick up where they left off from the night before.
Things become interesting when Daisy continues to act the b&itch by turning all the offers presented to her down. Dominick has a reality show that he knows of that would be perfect for Kendall and decides to pitch it to her right there in front of Daisy.
This is the premise, the major storyline, and how the action goes. We are there with Kendall as she is part of this Reality TV machine, the loss of privacy, the conflict with her sister, and the way Dom and her juggle the relationship they end up having. Everything happens fast.
If you like sexy times, lots of them then this book has them. If you have a curiosity about reality tv, there is that to see, too. There are the brothers, their interactions, and their support. I will share, though, some of the "sexy dialogue" is not always PC.
Overall, for me, it was another genre for Marni Mann, another series to look out for, and a hot read.

Hot Damn! After a few emotional romances, Marni Mann comes back swinging with sexy sexy sexy! HAWT! Be prepared. Those first two chapters will have you fanning yourself!
When Dominick and Kendall's eyes meet across a crowded room in the midst of a party, we know something is about to transpire. And boy does it ever! Dominick is forever a one-night stand sort of guy, but when he sees Kendall, he wants to do so much more to her than can be done in one night. SO, when Kendall happens to appear the next day at a meeting he has with one of his clients, everything is thrown up in the air. Connections are made and sweet Kendall that has been in LA for just a few weeks is thrown into the world of social media, reality tv, and all the limelight that comes with it.
This book is fast-paced and read quite fast. It may be lighter than the most recent Mann books, but she still introduced characters that had chemistry and had more to them than just the physical. It was definitely all sexual to begin with, but slowly slowly it turns to more. Kendall knows what she wants and she seems to know how to get it.
"I know how to juggle, whether it be jobs or balls-I've got both covered."
It was fun to watch these two try to navigate any sort of normality in LA. Both Dominick and Kendall had fire and they both complemented one another. I liked seeing Dominick's brothers come to bat for him when he needed them (and don't worry; they are getting their own books too) and seeing Kendall realize what she wanted out of life and her move to LA. It's all about who you surround yourself with and who you trust in the land of fake ('reality' tv) when it comes to this world. This relationship may have started out purely physical, but these two definitely are protective of one another and it's nice to see a perpetual bachelor change his tune with the right person.
The Lawyer is definitely hot, but just you wait for Daddy Dom. He comes out in full force and will stop at nothing for his woman. My interest is definitely piqued and I'm ready for some more Dalton Brothers.

Ms Mann certainly knows how to write an erotic romance, The Lawyer is proof of her ability. The chemistry between the main characters is scorching hot, it’s there from the first time they meet and it only increases binding them together and contributing to the growth of their feelings for each other.
The easy plot is enjoyable and the story is well written, the words fly over the pages and it’s a pleasure to read. Nothing much happens action wise, the story is quite predictable the plot twist so subtle it seems it’s not even there yet this doesn’t take away the pleasure of reading. If you’re after a good erotic romance set in the middle of Hollywood glitz, then this is the right book is for you.
Kendall is a stunning sweet woman who is suddenly plunged into a reality TV show, given her sweet nature she’s not used to juggle all the consequences of being famous, she values her private life and she isn’t ready to have her business aired on social media. I like how Kendall goes after what she wants, her confidence with her partner and her freedom to express her desires without losing her sensitive side or risking to become too much.
Dominick is one dirty talker hot as sin and a convinced bachelor, I like his alpha side, the way he projects his possessive and protective side, how he goes after Kendall, he can’t keep away from her, no matter how hard he tries. He’s dominant but he isn’t afraid to show his partner his vulnerable soft parts.
I’d like to pay special tribute to the amazing playlist framing this story, in particular hats off Marni for picking the best of the best when it comes to disco music the King Gigi D’Agostino. 👑
Before wrapping this up I feel a secondary character deserves a special mention Charlize you rock. I love you big 💖
I enjoyed this uncomplicated romance by this new to me author and I will definitely be reading more by her. What I’m most curious about is her exploration of other genres. I hope to find the bite I crave when she dabs into her dark abyss. I’m ready to be hit by all the feels and for my characters to be tossed and turned

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘄𝘆𝗲𝗿 by Marni Mann is my first book by the authors. I had no idea what to expect and went into this blind. I did not expect such a steamy novel right off the bat. Wow! Seriously steamy scenes right away and all throughout the book. That’s a nice change from having to wait. Seeing a couple in a new, sexy, flirtatious light made this a fun read. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘄𝘆𝗲𝗿 is the first book in 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀.
Dominick Dalton and his two brothers are partners in their own extremely successful law firm in Los Angeles. Dominick handles the entertainment portion of the firm and is one of the most sought-after lawyers in Hollywood. Dominick is cutthroat and will do anything to get the best deals for his clients.
When Dominick meets with Daisy Roy, he can’t help but notice the familiar beauty sitting next to her. Kendall Roy moved to Hollywood to help her sister navigate her own career. Kendall is a genuinely nice person, perhaps even too nice. When her sister walks all over her, Dominick is there to protect her. And protect her he did.

Dominick Dalton, the sexy bachelor who enjoys having his one night stands, who also happens to be a very successful Entertainment Lawyer in Hollywood. *swoon* Kendall and Dominick’s connection is instantaneous and they end up leaving the party together. And can I just say that I love and appreciate the spice starting verryyy early in the book! The morning after, Kendall is late to a meeting with her sister and her Lawyer, WHO HAPPENS TO BE DOMINICK!! Then starts the drama!! I loved it
I love Kendall and Dominicks relationship. It was so nice to see that he’s so successful, alpha and possessive, but when it comes down to it, he prioritizes Kendall! He is always there for her, however she needs him, and that made me love Dominick even more.
I really enjoyed listening to The Lawyer. The audiobook was wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who loves steamy audiobooks with lots of good drama that kept me on the edge of my seat! I definitely cannot wait for the second book in this series, can’t wait for the steam!🥵

If you're looking for billionaire + spice, this is 100% for you!
While, I do typically like billionaire romance.. this one just wasn't my cup of tea. The spice starts immediately and is super cringy (maybe because I did audio.) The plot was lacking. I had zero connection to the mmc & fmc AND the fmc's sister is one of the worst book characters I've ever read.

While, I do typically like billionaire romance.. this one just wasn't my cup of tea. The spice starts immediately and is super cringy (maybe because I did audio.) The plot was lacking. I had zero connection to the mmc & fmc AND the fmc's sister is one of the worst book characters I've ever read.
This one just wasn't for me. But, like I said if you want a spicy book - pick it up, I just suggest skipping the audio.
