我家吸血鬼他晕血 [My Vampire Faints at Blood | My Hemophobic Vampire]

Rate this book
The only thing scary about someone with hemophobia is a vampire with hemophobia.

As a skilled Emergency Department doctor, Doctor Shang meets a series of abnormal non-human races such as a werewolf with pet allergies, an elf who sings out of tune, a highly myopic celestial master, an incubus who doesn’t like girls, a baby dragon who is afraid of heights, and a vampire with hemophobia. He opens the door to a new world, heals and saves people, subdues demons, eliminates devils, and every day his only goal is to get his boyfriend to drink blood. To help his domestic vampire overcome hemophobia, Doctor Shang has thought of many ways: bottles, blindfolds, handcuffs, and food coloring.

Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked.

So – in the end, Doctor Shang could only chase after his vampire, bitterly rolling up his sleeves at him, “Try biting me one more time! Just one bite!

This novel was very interesting! It had so many funny parts. The characters were refreshing and fun! It was a change of pace for me, as I haven't done so many comedy novels! I liked the calmness of the MC and the protectiveness of the ML. The side characters each had their quirks and added to the story. The world building was decent as well!

Funny but bizarre.

Remark: There are so many western fictional/Chinese mythical creatures in this story; for example, vampire, werewolf, elf, dragon, taotie, vermilion bird and anything you can (or cannot) think of.

DNF'd at chapter 43.
I really need to stop picking up books whose main purpose is comedy because I never really end up liking them. I was amused by this one at first but it quickly drained away as they introduced more and more supernatural entities with quirks that conflicted with their identities (for ex. a vampire fainting at the sight of blood, a werewolf allergic to dog fur, a dragon with a fear of heights, etc) and it stopped being funny and just started being tiresome.

DNF @ 6% - Not sure if it's how the author wrote it or if it's the translation...but the dialogue was stiff and it took too much brain power to figure out what was going on. Some sentences just made absolute no sense at all, word salad.

Was a cute read, it was very different from anything read before, it was a very curing read about imperfections.
