The Tide of Her

Rate this book
The Twins are gone.
Leilani and Keanu have taken the Crown.
And they can’t let anyone find them.

The forces of the sea are keeping them on Cosmos Island, where they try hard not to get noticed and live their new life in secret, while keeping the Crown safe and out of anyone’s reach.

But Keanu sees danger in every face and every gesture, and Lei-lani is trying but failing to get answers from the sea. She has no idea what is expected from her, no idea where she’s supposed to go, what she’s supposed to do.

Or where to find the King of the Ocean.

Then Leilani and Keanu meet an enigmatic woman, who claims to have all the answers they need—but it soon appears to come at a cost which neither Leilani and Keanu are sure they can pay, es-pecially when it seems that while Leilani is growing stronger, Keanu only grows weaker and weaker still.

The King is lost.
A curse is unleashed.
Leilani’s identity is unraveled.
And Keanu’s past is watching them from the shadows.

Lynn Robin (1992) is an author of Paranormal Romance novels.

Born and raised in the historical city of Leiden in the Netherlands, she has felt the urge to write stories ever since she was little— preferably ones with ghosts and other spooky things (probably because her parents let her watch Stephen King film adaptions when she was nine).

Next to that, she likes to add a healthy dose of romance to her books; star-crossed lovers and forbidden romances, preferably about monsters hiding in the bodies of young men, and girls blessed with angelic powers—or at least humans touched by magical abilities.

She made her debut in 2017 with her Dutch series entitled the Schimmenwereld Serie (the Phantom World series), containing six books about ghosts, angels, demons, music, dance, art, and—of course—love. She won the Best Book of 2018 award with the fourth installment, Schimmendroom (Phantom Dream), chosen by the jury of The Dutch Indie Awards.

In 2020 she debuted internationally in English with the highly romantic Kissing Monsters series which concluded with 8 volumes in 2021. Her latest release is The Sea of Her, a still ongoing paranormal romance series in a tropical setting about the Weeper of Pearls, a Wild Stranger from the Sea and a long-lost King of the Ocean.

Besides being passionate about writing, she’s also a rather dedicated running/fitness/yoga/martial arts enthusiast, and likes to spend time with her family, play videogames, or freak herself out watching documentaries about haunted houses (for research, she claims).

so i waited a looong time for this book and now that i've finally read it, my head is spinning. i am nowhere close to figuring out what is happening but oh my god this book, like every other Lynn Robin book, was beautiful.

arc generously provided by the author

again, this book picks up after the last one. The twins are dead, or are they really? and Leilani and Keanu are on the run. There is no one they can trust, they are lost. They end up on Cosmos Island and are trying to get back to their life like it was before the war, before they were fugitives running away with the crown.

"Her happiness is even brighter than the sun. She might be destined to weep—but she's really meant to smile"

Keanu and Leilani's relationship was just so beautiful, i know i've said this before but wow. it wasn't perfect, they were messy, and shrouded in secrets of his past but they were perfect together. it was so amazing to see how they just got each other. how they were always there for each other.

Keanu says he's been made for violence.
But all she sees is his gentleness.
He claims he's been born for rage.
But all she feels is his love.

The ocean is healing, but its not fully there yet. There is a long way to go, but Keanu and Leilani, along with the help of Mai and Sora, can do it together. or at least thats what i thought until that ending. i hate Ms. Robin's cliffhangers but it does make the relief of holding the next book in my hand so much sweeter.

"Take the crown, take it and live"

Keanu is dying, the serum is killing him. His only reprieve is the crown, that before he could claim, has fallen into the wrong hands of Madam Deep. She is worse than the twins, responsible for innumerable deaths.

"She wants to run from the Queen. But she will always follow the boy. No matter how dark his depths may be."

Leilani has no one now, with Madam Deep claiming the crown, Keanu changing alliance and her ending up caged, there is nothing she can do. She's powerless and has lost all hope. She's the princess, she was made for this, to protect the crown and bring back the king but it all seems impossible now.

what will happen next? will Keanu live? will they get the crown back? will Leilani save those ocean spirits? or is it all going to be in vain?

The Tide Of Her was another masterpiece by Lynn Robin with an amazing storyline full of twists and turns, love, sacrifice and intrigue, i would highly recommend this series, and i cannot wait to read the next one.

Oh, this book, this book... It has a slow start, taking me away into the mind of Leilani, her soul, which is full of hope, which starts to believe good things might happen.
When the story begins to bubble it finally is for good things... happy times are a part of Leilani an Keanu's lives.
Until darkness floods the pages of the book. Again.
This book is... heartbreak.

Leilani and Keanu are living on Cosmos Island trying to keep their identities a secret from everyone as they are still being hunted. The evil twins are gone but are they truly gone? Who is hunting Leilani and Keanu? Will they ever get to lead the life they want and enjoy it?

They just want to live a normal life like everyone else and just be themselves. Live life without always looking over their shoulder. On Cosmos Island, they are just trying to get their lives back in order but things are not going as they had hoped.

Leilani’s powers are growing stronger and stronger every day but Keanu is getting weaker and weaker. He is seeing danger where ever he looks. What did the evil twins do to Keanu to make him? Leilani thought he was getting better but it looks as if he is not. Is Keanu hiding something from Leilani to keep her safe? Or does he just not want to worry her with everything else they have on their plate at the moment?

Leilani and Keanu meet this woman who says she is there to help them but is she really? Who is this woman? Is she who she says she is? Is she truly there to help them or is she just like everyone else always wanting something from them. Has she found out who Leilani is and what she can do? What is her true reason for helping them?

The Tide of Her takes us on another mysterious adventure with Leilani and Keanu. I enjoyed following along as Leilani and Keanu’s story was exposed with each turn of the page. The mystery and secrets alone are enough to keep the pages turning and holding my interest as each secret is slowly revealed from the moment I read that first page.

I can’t wait to dive into The Deep of Him the last book in The Sea of Her series to see how Leilani and Keanu’s stories come to a close even though I will be so sad to see their stories ending.

I highly recommend The Deep of Him to anyone who loves to get lost in the magic of the paranormal. So one-click your copy of The Deep of Him today for another great adventure!

I would also like to recommend The Sea of Her book one in the series and The Waves of Him book two in the series as well.

“She twist around and grows utterly still. The entire ocean is glowing.”

-The tide of her, Lynn Robin.

Daarom geef ik ‘The tide of her’ van Lynn Robin 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 sterren!!

Dit (e-) boek mocht ik ontvangen als recensie exemplaar van de auteur in ruil voor eeneerlijke recensie, bedankt hiervoor!

I don't know why but this one didn't feel as deep and intense as the rest of the books in this series....maybe it was the slow pace of the plot or maybe I don't like to wait for things to happen, which Keanu and Leilani did a lot in this book.
It was okay, I wasn't enthralled but I wasn't detached either. There were a lot of twists and turns in here which were exciting.
The ending, however, in Lynn's words from this book, was " a hurricane of rawness, anger, agony, and a deep, heavy kind of tenderness that makes her chest ache." It was the best thing in this story and I can't wait to see where it takes Keanu and Leilani and their love❣️
