OMG! She did it again!!! I just can’t get enough of these characters and their spellbinding story!!! This right here is pure paranormal perfection!! All the stars!!!!
Forbidden Mate is the exciting second instalment in The Shadow Chronicles by C.R Robertson. I devoured the first book and it immediately became my favourite read for the year, so to say I had high expectations for this book would be an understatement. I have been anticipating the release of this book and was sooooo excited when it finally landed on my Kindle five days ago. I shoved aside everything else that I had planned to read and plunged headfirst into the action. It only took me a few hours to read it, as I practically inhaled it. I got to the end and turned around and started it again- two more times- it was THAT GOOD!!!
This was more than I had hoped for- an incredibly riveting read that has taken my addiction to C.R Robertson’s work to a whole new high- but it’s an addiction I am happy to feed and have no intention of quitting any time, ever! To say I loved it is an understatement.
This is a fast-paced, action-packed, adrenaline fuelled, paranormal romance, with a complex, multi-layered, and addictive storyline. The story is incredible, with vampires, Lycans, demon hellspawn, witches, sizzling chemistry, politics, agendas, drama, danger, secrets, paranormal beings, battle scenes, violence, adventure, sizzling encounters, fated mates, and even higher stakes than the first book. Again, I love Ms. Robertson’s take on Vampire and Lycan lore, she really does know how to tell a very compelling and exciting story.
As this story continues on from where Book One left off, I really recommend reading Forbidden Wolf before starting on this one. Trust me, you will want to know what happens there before continuing the adventure. I am seriously on tenterhooks for the release of book three, Forbidden Moon, which I am anticipating will be quite a bittersweet read, as I really want to continue this series but I have just discovered that it will be the conclusion to Tasha and Levi’s story, and I’m not sure I am ready to say goodbye.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING!!! Seriously, if you love fantasy, paranormal romance, or just love being immersed in a spellbinding adventure- then you will really want to get your hands on this book/series, STAT! You really won’t be disappointed! But prepared for the massive heat wave and addiction that comes with it!!

Robertson returns with "Forbidden Mate" the second installment in The Shadow Chronicles. As a regular reader of Robertson, I have come to expect a certain level of quality from her stories and this book is no exception! Once again Robertson has created a world that is easy to escape into with characters who go through trials, persevere, and have moments of fun! Like any good author, Robertson crafts characters who are relatable even in this fantasy world. Building upon the first book, we see the plot develop more and Robertson uses different characters to tell the story. This was an interesting storytelling feature and I hope she employs this tactic again! I felt it allowed me to get to know more about the characters and about their world. As you read this book, who will you enjoy learning about, or who will you relate to? Will it be Levi, Tasha, or even the Evil Castus? Take some time for yourself and enjoy this latest Robertson read!

I am completely hooked. With new & old enemies coming after Tasha & Levi, no one is safe. The more I read this story the more I need to know what will happen. Tasha & Levi are a couple that I can’t get enough. Levi & Tasha get a surprise no one saw coming. Truly an amazing story that everyone should one-click. I can’t wait too read what will happen next.

Revelations. Okay book two takes everything and bumps it up several notches. This book begins a few months after the events at the end of the first book. Once again CR Robertson pulls you in and after a slightly slow start you can hardly get a breath.
In the few months since the confrontation with the hellspawns Tasha and Levi have found a sense of normalcy in their crazy world. Levi holding true to finding a way for them to be together publicly and not having to be apart for another ten years while finishing their conscriptions. While at the end of book one Tasha could still feel the dull hum of the creatures killing the vampires and Lycans she could hear them at times. Knowing they must be regrouping the vampires and Lycans made agreements of sorts that ends the war between them to combine to beat the common enemy before them. In the first book it is also revealed that due to the moon goddess making Tasha and Levi fated mates, she was changed to a deeper level allowing her to walk in the sun. Only she and Levi know this and go to great lengths at times to keep it that way. The chaos of war tomorrow is promised to know one. Grasping every moment with Levi, Tasha fears a world without him. Learning more about the secrets of her coven Tasha begins to learn how much of her life was based on lies and half-truths of those that held power.
How far will Castus go to claim what was never his? Can the Vampires and Lycans succeed at defeating the hellspawns? Once again, the world the author creates is one of total intrigue that pulls you into the world beside the characters. The characters continue to develop and grow as they experience more than what seems possible to overcome but they survive by sticking together through it all. While reading the first book the love story seemed to be at the center and to a degree it is, but the fact is that it is the war that is the focus that has encompassed both species for so long that the purpose of the war is long forgotten. Tasha and Levi’s story is the light in the war that makes everything worth overcoming the evil lurking in the muck. I cannot wait to begin book three, Forbidden Moon, to see how Tasha and Levi’s story continues and what they will overcome.

This book really drew me in deep, and I mean that in a good way, From the vey beginning of the novel I was sucked in. I had not read the book prior to this one, but needless to say I am going to. The characters were beautifully written and this author really knows how to grab you and keep you reading basically!

This book delivered and more. Thee book had a wide range of characters that I believe carried over from the previous book. I was so invested I felt I was a apart` of the group going through the actions and adventure...and dare I say trials/tests that they had been through in this novel!

Darkness can be over powering especially in the dark world and what it does to our beloved characters was so intense, can they really trust what they know? Is what they believe truly the truth? There was constantly something happened, the book never lagged, or seemed boring at al! I literally could not put this one down it was my perfect genre of book, and the story was so compelling I constantly needed to know what would happen next! It was amazing from start to finish!

By far, I felt a super strong connection to Tasha and Levi. They seemed to not be perfectly connected by the start of the book, but as the story continued they seemed to entwine more and more. I really loved that connection that seemed to grow? I'm feeling I am not the only reader who thought that! Every character was remarkable in a special way! The author truly delivered and then some with this book!

The book was amazing to say the least. I really felt the connection as I said with all the characters. I really felt myself adapt to what ever they faced. I loved how they stuck together during hard times and even when all seemed lost, their will and strength relied on one another got them though! The characters and how they were written were so good, and realistic! I loved the story and the action and all the paranormal setting put into it! it was a wonderful and fun read! I defiantly look forward to more in the future from this amazing author! This was truly a book that delivered above and beyond expectations!

HOLY UV RAYS - I do not even know where to begin!
The battle continues for our Vamps and Lycans
Things are getting more complicated as the Hellspawn advance not only upon the innocent but in their attacks
Revelations of past misdeeds and actions are about to change the direction of the war
Not all may not be a great thing

This started out a touch slow as I got reacclimated to all the new happenings but once things get rolling - I had trouble catching my breath
The story picks up close to where we left off but there is a lot of new nuggets to digest - that is one of the things I like about this series to date is the detail to the overall story beyond just Levi and Tasha - though they are the focus

Soooo there are a few major reveals but one of them is an "OMG I so want to tell someone" secret but it is a big spoiler so I'm mumming but OMG wait for it you will flip scripts.
There are a few big revelations actually that have me on edge
Some will be major game-changers for both sides

"Love needed no explanation, it required no apology, and it demanded nothing except two hearts beating as one."
Levi and Tasha are just perfect as a couple - they fit together -not only in the way they support each other but how they view the people and events around them.

Castus makes my skin crawl - his obsession with Tasha mixed with his sick nature EWWW - He has not given up reclaiming that which he desires but never had - delusional much?
We also meet Grams - I am going to give her some leeway before making a final judgment though IMO she did not show the same courtesy to Levi and Tasha

I am also holding the same reservation towards Levi's brother Caleb
Dominic though ... DANG I want more of his character as well as Radar's though I think a little vamp has her eyes on him

I have said it previously but it bears repeating if you enjoy epic storylines packed with suspense, mystery, and romance that take place in a well-crafted universe with tangible characters that stay with you long after you close the pages this is for you

Forbidden Mate by CR Robertson picks up where Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) left off. In Book 1, Forbidden Wolf, CR Robertson introduces the characters of Levi, a Lycan, and Tasha, a Vampire. Levi and Tasha have fallen deeply in love although they were never meant to be mates. The Lycans and the Vampires have been sworn enemies for centuries and were ordered to kill one another on sight but are now fighting side by side to end the Lycan-vampire war. The vampires and Lycans have formed a tentative alliance to fight a much bigger enemy, the Hellspawn.

As the war against the Hellspawn rages on Levi And Tasha are thrown into a dark world of secrets and lies that threatens to destroy everything they have ever known. It is a race against time as Levi and Tasha try to solve the mystery behind the genetics of both the Lycans and Vampires. As strong as their love is for one another it might not be enough to survive the bigger enemy and overcome the dark secrets behind their genetic makeup.

I instantly fell in love with the characters of both Levi and Tasha when I first met them in Book 1, Forbidden Wolf, and was completely drawn into their world. Book 2, Forbidden Mate, continues their journey and builds more on the characters and their lives. There was never a dull moment throughout the entire book, and it is action-packed throughout. Forbidden Mate kept me turning the pages and I found myself rooting for Levi and Tasha and hoping that their love would persevere through all the trials and tribulations they were continuously put through. My heart skipped a beat when the evil Castus popped back into their lives and tried to come between Tasha and Levi. I cringed when the Master Hellspawn is almost able to lure Tasha to him. I waited with bated breath in the hopes that Levi could save his one true love. CR Robertson does a great job building suspense and keeping the reader intrigued. I highly recommend this book!

Tasha the Vampire and Levi the Lycan return as they continue to fight for their survival, the Hellspawn are back after a few months of precious respite and now are back to attacking them on a nightly basis, but they are evolving and the way that they attack them is changing too, meanwhile, the two forbidden lovers and mates continue in their fated romance as they swap between being fearless leaders in front of their fellow warriors to being able to show each other their true feelings behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, they are trying to study history of the two races, as well as their genetics and see what they will reveal about their origins and therefore the Hellspawn, but whenever they think that they have found something it just reveals more questions than answers. They are all just trying to use their skills to keep their heads above water and out of the mess created by their enemies, but with each step forwards, they are starting to feel like they are going two steps backward and the tentative and slightly unstable alliance takes just as much work to maintain as hiding the some critical truths from those around them.

Cant the two fated mates find out what is hiding behind the wall of secrets and think of a way to keep the Hellspawn and others who want to destroy what they have at arms length, or will things come between them and rip them apart for good? This paranormal romance is filled with tension and excitement from the get go and keeps you reading as the story unravels before you, it is a rollercoaster of ups and downs which keep you off balance and always guessing what is around the next bend.

After having read the first book I was hooked on the writings of CR Robertson. The characters that she depicts are so descriptive that I can imagine the things she portrays them doing in her novels. I despise Castus but absolutely love the growth I am seeing in Levi and Tasha. There is absolutely no way I put these down often reading most of the book in one session.
For this book we are introduced to a few newer characters and some more twists and turns very characteristic in her writing style I’ve seen so far. With the demon hell spawn still advancing on both sides Tasha and Levi bring the Lycans and Vampires to a delicate standdown as they battle this creature who attacks without reservation. But it is hard to move on from past transgressions. As we explore the conflict between the Lycans and vampires it unlocks many surprises and secrets that everything may not be as black and white as once thought, or as night and day as it was believed. The trials and tribulations that both Levi and Tasha face will leave you hanging on tight as the twists and turns come from every angle. It is hard to describe the book to much without the potential of divulging major spoilers and as an avid reader I can’t do that to you now can I? I will shout this from the rooftops you must read this series, you won’t regret it!

This is the second  book in The Shadows Chronicles. This story carries on with the first book and its a story which will keep you gripped from beginning to end. The characters are well written that you can't help feel every emotion they go through and when they face dangers you feel like you are right there with them.

Levi and Tasha are a couple that in the eyes of the world shouldn't work. Levi is a Lycan and Tasha is a Vampire. Both of their clans have been at work for years and their love could end up in their death. However neither of them are prepared to go down without a fight. After fighting in the war in the last book to bring the Lycans and Vampires together there is now another threat. And this one looks like it may destroy not only their love but the way of life.

There are loads of secrets and lie to unravel after decades of hate between the Lyans and Vampires, however they need to now work together more than ever to stop the hellspawn from destroying not only their lives but the humans that don't even realise a war is happening.

Can the love between Levi and Tasha's love be used as proof that the two clans can exist together in harmoney or will the hellspawn and the evil person after Tasha tear the couple apart for ever?

Another totally entertaining, totally spicy, totally sweet, action-packed story! Loved the first book, loved this one! I’d recommend starting with book 1 since this story continues right after the events of the first book. The deep connection between lycan Levi and vampire Tasha is amazing; love how much they support each other! The passion is fierce and sweet between these two! The hellspawn are still on the loose trying to kill/enslave all the vamps and wolves, so they’ve teamed up with better hopes of surviving. Things aren’t exactly smooth sailing between the vamps and the lycans; pretty tough getting over all killing that’s been going on between the vamps and lycans in the past. Tasha and Levi are having to deal with one of the master hellspawn trying to capture Tasha for his own devious, disgusting plans. Another disgusting individual on the loose, coven leader Castus continues to be a problem that needs to be taken out before his depraved actions go any further. Love all the cool action and suspense! The whole premise is an interesting one; enjoying the writing style, and I’m just loving the whole vibe to this series!! Excited for more from this author!

Yall, I said it before when I reviewed the first book in the Shadow Chronicles and I will say it again but these books are not your average vampire reads and everyone should go run and one-click them! They are just fab and I have become and instant fan of CR Robertson as a result. I love her knack for writing paranormal romance books and her ability to restore my faith in vampire reads once again. I used to love this genre and really really loved reading Anne Rice and whatnot but just became really burned out and sad when Twilight killed it, yes I know I am one of those that could have done without that whole franchise all together. Anywho Forbidden Mate took me on a magnificent ride and kept me reading late into the night. In fact it kept the hubby up too who may or may not be reading these now, oopsies lol. Not sorry actually. These books have something for everyone with action and adventure, intrigue and suspense and the underlying romance is enough to keep me so glued to the kindle I can’t bear it. I will most definitely be stalking and hoping for book three to be available soon!

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles #2) by CR Robertson

Another fantastic read by Robertson. Levi and Tasha's story continues with Forbidden Mate. Things get interesting and you really have to read it to see what I mean.

Tasha is still mated to Levi. She's still being hunted by the Hellspawn Master. And her Coven leader wants her as well. Will she be able to escape the troubles that haunt her? The quote I chose for Tasha is: “What if it isn’t anything to do with the vampire brother but who he mated with? The vampire side gives immortality, but if Mum is right, and there is witch blood combined with it, then they could want access to that.”

Levi still has the desire to protect Tasha at all costs. He will put his own life in danger before risking her life. When she is taken he about loses himself to his wolf. Tasha being the only one able to bring him back. The quote I chose for Levi is: “I needed to become an alpha fast in the military and the only way to do that during my initial conscription term was to fight. So, I embraced my wolf and we took command of a base.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Vampire lovers.

Tasha is a vampire soldier. Levi is a lycan soldier and has taken over as alpha of his camp of soldiers. Together they have brought Tasha’s vampire clan into the camp and plan to work together as a team. New peace accords are written between the vampire clan and the lycan camp. Amazingly the team is fighting their common enemy the Hellspawn. With new weapons and science, the vampire and lycan group has made some progress against the Hellspawn, but with an enemy like the Hellspawn the challenges beaten bring about new challenges.

Tasha and Levi have to fight against the culture of both clans to maintain their relationship. As soul mates, there are individuals and groups who say that a union between a vampire and lycan shouldn’t happen. As Tasha and Levi experience new challenges as a couple, new mysteries of their past come to the forefront that have to be dealt with appropriately.

As the second book in The Shadow Chronicles series, Forbidden Mate is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Watching Tasha and Levi grow into their roles within their communities and in their relationship is worth the read.

I could not wait to start reading the second installment in this series, and let me tell you, this author really does not disappoint. I love when a series picks up right where it has left off, rather than skipping a few years, and that is what you can expect from this novel. She is so thorough in her world and character building that there are rarely questions left unanswered. I have to say, I am very glad that we were quickly introduced to another member of Tasha’s family, giving us more of her background and a greater appreciation for all that her family did to protect not only her, but her sister, Kimber, too. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader captivated, as well as having me once again chomping at the bit to commence the third installment to see what happens next!

This series explores a few different genres, the paranormal aspect, the action and the romance has captured my attention and has certainly had me having some of the coolest, yet weirdest dream that I’ve experienced in a long time, not that I’m complaining! I highly recommend giving these novels a read, and other works by this author.

The mysteries that lurk around every corner threaten to shatter all they have ever believed as each step they take draws them further into a web of lies and deception that spans decades. The only way to save the situation as time runs out is to solve the puzzle of lycan and vampire DNA. They were characterized by evolution, but they also produced a monster that was capable of wiping them all out. Even if Levi and Tasha's love violates every rule that their species had to follow, it might not be powerful enough to protect them from the Hellspawn.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique romance vampire series. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I have binge read the series at this point and will continue on book three.

This is book 2 in The Shadow Chronicles and is a continuation of Tasha and Levi's forbidden love story. Tasha is a unique Vampire and Levi is a Lycan. This book is full of action and more secrets are unveiled. There were a lot of twists and turns. It took me a little longer to read this second book than the first, but it is still an absolutely wonderful book. My biggest issue with this book is how much Tasha starts to lean on Levi, when she knows she is strong and perfectly capable. It makes her seem a good bit weaker throughout the book.

Tasha begins to learn how much of her life was based on lies. How far will Castus go to claim something that was never his in the beginning? Will the Vampires and Lycans be able to work together and defeat the hellspawns?

The book focuses on two things, the war and the love between Tasha and Levi. While the war is full of action and violence, their love is sweet and steamy!

Cannot wait to read book 3. Definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a good paranormal romance!

This book was the second in The Shadow Chronicles series - if you haven't read the first, I would highly recommend reading it before this one. The author does an excellent job expanding on the story and characters from the first book! Though this book did not exactly follow the storyline from the first book that I expected, I still greatly enjoyed the plot. I also like how it touched on the storyline that I originally expected it to follow, clearly leaving that open for the next installment! The main characters Levi and Tasha were just as enjoyable as they were in the first book, with additional satisfying developments to the antagonists of both this book and the overall series, as well as some of the lesser side characters. If you loved the first book, you'll love this one for all the same reasons, including but not limited to the endearing characters, the fast-pace, and the steamy romance! I can't wait to read the third installment in this series and see where it goes!

I was so excited to be back with Tasha and Levi! I knew I’d have just as much fun with them as the first go around and the author certainly didn’t disappoint in any way. Once again we’re pulled into a paranormal adventure that left me feeling like the real world no longer existed. Once again the characters just draw you in and you can try all you want to take it slow and make it last but you’ll probably do about as well as me with that. There’s times a was on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what happens next. I like a book where I can still not make out what’s happening next and this author gets that need. It’s got nice originality and it’s definitely a story that’ll keep you up reading it to the very end. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m so excited for more and definitely give this one five stars. Highly recommend this book, this author and this series!

when you grow up, hating another species without actually understanding why, falling in love with one of the hated species is frowned upon and if it becomes public knowledge can lead to the death of both. Levi and Tasha’s story breaks all the rules. They meet bite each other (which would have left them both dead) but nothing happened and they tried their best to keep their romance under wraps. Deciding to run away was the only option to survival until fate steps in and shows them a way to use their unusual relationship to save both the vampire's and the wolves.

Another epic book by a fantastic author. Page turner that keeps you glued and so part of the story that you feel the hate and the pain and the love in every part of the story.

Forbidden Mare by CR Robertson is the second book in The Shadow Chronicles. This is an amazing follow up to the first book and one that I was so excited to start reading. The instant I started reading this book I was hooked. I was taken right back into this world and the characters. The way the author writes helped to create such a vivid picture and really made the book what it is. I was completely immersed in this story and what was happening. This is the kind of book that you will want to read in one sitting as you just can’t put it down.
After the first book I was intrigued to see where the author would take the series and watching that develop over this book was fascinating. And I loved how you could still feel that strong connection between Levi and Tasha just as much as you could before. This is a brilliant series and I am already looking forward to what comes next.

This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first one. I highly suggest reading the first book as it is just as great. This is one of my favorites by this author which I really enjoyed. This is a well written story that has a ton of paranormal and supernatural suspense. The characters bring the fantasy to a new level as they bring the story to life. They are connectable and kept me turning pages to the end. The relationship between the vampires and Lycans are being tested throughout this story. Is Levi and Tasha’s relationship strong enough to survive what is coming? I really enjoyed them in the first book and certainly enjoyed them more in this one. They just made the story for me. They are strong characters that have great chemistry. This is a great story that I highly recommend along with this author.

I was as drawn in with book 2 as I was book 1, and the twists and turns left me on pins and needles. Tasha and Levi are back again revealing their connection as fated mates, and turning the paranormal world upside down with each discovery. As we explore further into the history this age old Vampire/Lycan war it unlocks many surprises and hidden secrets allowing the supernatural realm to see that not all is as it seems, and Tasha and Levi's relationship will soon test the fates. The trials and tribulations of their relationship and their kind rise to whole new levels, and the excitement of it all will have you reeling!!

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson. This book was amazing. The first book was good too and I would suggest reading it first but this book just blew everything out of the water. Its a fast paced story full of paranormal romance, drama, and vampires. This is the conclusion of Tasha and Levi's story and it will shock you to the core. Things are more complicated as the battle continues between the Vamps and the Lycans. Castus is still totally obsessed with Tasha and will stop at nothing to have her even though she wants nothing to do with him. This is the telltale sign of whether Tasha and Levi make it and it will keep you flipping pages until you are finished. Tasha is still finding out about her powers and how to use them and of course her relationship with Levi is causing all kinds of destruction. This book is so good and I hope you will all read it.

Ugh, I LOVED! This book continues from Forbidden Wolf, and CR Robertson has topped it! Tasha really comes into her power and confidence, Levi is again just the best. There was spice from the start, but not just spice, passionate and almost desperate spice, which is even better. The connection between the two MCs is palpable and I loved getting lost in it. The villains in the story were quite despicable, which makes them great villains to route against. I loved the underlying mysteries about the world and the history of the characters. Once I hit about 50% through, I couldn't put it down. My only complaint is that it doesn't look like there will be a third book... Why? I need more of Tasha and Levi!!! I need to know what happens next! Maybe a spin off series? Please? Definitely looking out for more this author has written, because I thoroughly enjoyed both books in this world.

In book 1, Forbidden Wolf, you fell in love with the two main characters, Levi and Tasha. In this second book, you fell in love with their story and the strength that love can provide. Levi and Tasha once again are trying to win this war against the hellspawn (and those that oppose their connection). At every turn, the couple is dealing with diversity, and when things start to look up, something else gets in their path. But the bond and strength and uniqueness of being mated helps conquer even the most turmoil of situations. One thing I just love about paranormal romances is the way authors talk about bonds, love, soul mates, etc. It is done in such a way that you yearn for those feelings. CR Robertson writes in a fashion where I can physically feel what these characters are feeling just by reading the words - that’s talent.

This is filled and I mean filled with ACTION! It has other elements like drama, suspense and of course the relationships. While I loved all the action and drama my favorite is the relationship between Tasha and Levi! His protective possessiveness of her just made my heart pound. I loved seeing it every time from him pushing her behind and putting his arm across her in dangerous times to actually fighting anyone who is unfriendly to her. Tasha isn’t a pushover and can hold her own especially when her mate is threatened. Their connection is what makes this so much more.

The storyline was busy and fast paced. I like all the ups and downs that this story took. I enjoyed the character movement plus we get to see a lot of new characters. I am not sure where or which way the story is headed. I have been surprised more than once in here. Very Enjoyable

The excitement continues in book two of this series. The love between Levi and Tasha continues to defy the odds. Law states that they are sworn enemies yet they are fated mates. The alliance between the Lycans and the Vampires have only made them stronger to defeat the new enemy. Just as they are evolving, so are the Hellspawn. They too are learning and evolving, becoming a formidable foe. The master hellspawn wants one thing only. The one thing Levi will burn the world to protect; Tasha. There are enemies within as well. Each day poses a new problem.

Action, danger, vampires and werewolves. What more could you want? The author keeps drawing you in by adding layers to the plot. There are unexpected surprises as well. This series gets better with each book. I can’t wait to read the next instalment.
