Features: A mountain man firefighter and younger curvy girl romance. Instalove themes.

Dawn
The summer fair is our bakery's busiest time of year.
Not that we profit from it, but it's all for a good cause.
All the local heroes get together, and we put on a great day for the town.
It's a pretty chilled out day after being run off our feet in the bakery.
This year, though, things are heating up.
Not just because of the wildfire that sweeps through our fair.
But because Bowie seems hell-bent on pursuing me.
Even if that means chasing me into a burning forest.

Bowie
I've been propping up the corner table in Dawn's bakery for too long.
I can't bring myself to talk to her. To drag her into my world.
She's exactly my type.
But I've been too busy looking after my sister and my buddy's family to make a move.
Too caught up in my own nightmares that followed me home.
When she soaks me at the summer fair, I'm immediately hooked.
I'm determined to claim this curvy woman.
To make her mine.
But first, I'm going to have to save her life.

Six of us enlisted, but only five of us got to board the plane home. From the second our boots hit the dust bowl, we made a promise forged in blood. If any one of us lost our lives in that godforsaken desert, we'd all pitch in to look after our fallen comrade's family. When Harlow met his end, it's a promise that we stuck to. And in Pink Springs, Vermont, we all found something to keep our hands busy inbetween taking care of Harlow's kid siblings and parents. Laid-back jobs, storefronts and eateries full of small-town charm, and the curvy girls who stole our hearts.

A mountain man instalove romance series, featuring alpha males, older man and younger woman partners, and hunky mountain men who have to have their curvy girl. There's no cheating and no cliffhangers. HEA comes as standard!

Bowie and Dawn's Story . . .

Bowie is a volunteer firefighter who has been attracted to the baker, Dawn, but he has avoided talking to her. He is suffering from PTSD from when he served overseas, and he is afraid of getting her involved with his problem. Dawn also hasn’t talked to him about her feelings.

When a fire breaks out in the woods, their fight to survive, when Bowie’s quick actions save Dawn and Sarah, will provide them opportunity to talk with each other finally and get to know each other better so they can comfortably communicate. Is this the start of a long-awaited relationship? Will Dawn be willing to cope with his PTSD? Will they gain confidence enough to be there for each other? Will it all lead to their HEA?

I loved the fairy tale they told Sarah to keep her from being afraid. And since it was actually “their” story, it made it even more effective in opening up that communication. The author did a great job with this story, so grab your copy and see how it all worked out for them.

Bowie is back from 15 years in the army. He goes to the bakery cause he's attracted to one of the baker, Dawn, but has been too shy to talk to her. Finally at the fair she pays money to dunk him is the "dunk tank." She gets him all three times. But as fire breaks out and people are running everywhere and Down has gone looking for a young girl. Bowie sees them and saves them but they get surrounded by the fire. Now Bowie, Dawn and Sarah are in a hole covered with the tarp that firefighters use so the fire goes over them. He saves their lives. When Bowie and Dawn go to her house to shower they can't fight their attraction anymore and the have a steamy scene. When a car backfires Bowie goes crazy from the PTSD that he has. Dawn finally gets a chance to take to him and tells him that they can work on the PTSD together. I love how she approaches the subject and he decides to get the counseling that he needs. I enjoyed this short story and loved the connection between the two characters. This is an fantastic quick little read. There are five buddies that came back to Pink Springs to help the family of a fallen soldier. The characters are down-to-earth, natural, likable/lovable. Bowie came back but has some PTSD issues he is dealing with. Until he conquers that he doesn’t feel he is worthy to ask a woman out. He has set his eyes on Dawn who runs a bakery with her sisters. This story has drama, danger, suspense - it’s an emotional roller coaster. Each will make the other stronger. It is not smooth sailing which makes for a good read. It is entertaining and enjoyable. It is a feel good romance with heart pounding attraction, lust and passion, but also gentleness, tenderness, sweet romance and love. I really liked the characters - they made the story come alive!

Book 3 in a mountain man firefighter, Veterans of Vermont series. Bowie has spent the last few months ordering coffee and drinking it in the shop where Dawn works. He admires her from afar, working up the courage to ask her out while dealing with his internal issues. Dawn knows what he's doing, she's waiting for him to make a move. On the day when he finally introduces himself, her life is put in danger. Will he be able to rescue her so they can have a future together? This is a sweet, spicy, short, insta-romance with likable characters and realistic situations. I like the way trauma is addressed and the dramatic fire scene. An entertaining romance!

LOVED this firefighter, curvy woman romance! I loved the tortured H who has a thing for the curvy Dawn but chooses to stare at her instead of ask her out. I loved the sassy h who can show Bowie a thing or two with a baseball. I loved the suspense of the fire and the kid Dawn goes to save but puts herself in danger at the same time. I loved the calmness with which Dawn approaches Bowie’s PTSD. Oh and we can’t forget the steam of this book….. LOVED it!! These two are my new favorites from this new series by Kate Weiss. I recommend checking out all of the books but if you can only get one, definitely get this one!!

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Bowie is the third book in the ‘’Veterans of Vermont’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Bowie has wanted Dawn since he first saw her. Because of his PTSD he is resistant to make his move.
The chemistry between Bowie and Dawn is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked how supportive Dawn was of Bowie’s PTSD.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

This has been a wonderful series, but Bowie's story is one that sweet with a some danger, a bit of a misunderstanding, love with a big heart that will pull you in page after page.

Bowie has notice Dawn at the bakery since he arrived, and has been working up the courage to say something. At the fair, Dawn shows what she is made of when she takes him down at the dunking booth.

I enjoyed who this story was written, watching the character carefully navigate to getting to know each other, and how Dawn stands her grown to help Bowie.

Bowie is a volunteer fireman who goes every day to the bakery, and he can’t take his eyes off Dawn.
Dawn works at The Bear Claw, a well-known bakery. She is selling goods at a fair to raise money for the local heroes. There she finds a young man who goes every day to the bakery for coffee but never speaks.
One of the best short stories I have read in a long time. It is so complete in such a short amount of pages that I had to check I was no mistaken with the length of it. Great work.

Dawn is at the fairgrounds with the bakery she works for. On the break, she and her friends are walking past the dunk tank. Bowie makes a comment and Dawn decides to play. Once she leaves, Bowie is in love. When Dawn goes back to the booth, there is alot of smoke. Dawn goes into the blaze to save a little girl and Bowie chases. This firefighter romance has some intense fire burning from the dunk tank to the actual fire to the bedroom. This a fast paced, action packed read.

Bowie is crushing hard on Dawn. He sits in the bakery day after day just to be near her. Dawn of course notices the absolute hottie sitting in the bakery everyday. When the bakery does their fundraiser for the firehouse at the summer fair a fire breaks out. Now it's up to Bowie to save their lives. Another great one in this series, and I can't wait for more.

In this third book of the Veterans of Vermont has Bowie in the bakery every day just to see Dawn at work but he never gets the nerve to ask her out because he suffers from PTSD and does not want her to see him if he has an episode. He is a volunteer firefighter so when a fire breaks out and he rescues Dawn they began to talk and they realize they are both attracted to each other. Sweet story.

This book is one of those hidden gems in my opinion. I was expecting a book where they see each other and hit it off right away. With a great deal of hot steamy sexy times. That the hero was into having control. Well, he is but not the way I thought. What I got was something more. They have great chemistry and attraction. I also got heavy drama; I would recommend this to anyone!!

Bowie and Dawn

PTSD is definitely no joke!!!! Especially after returning from war!!!! I’m so glad Dawn didn’t use it against Bowie and instead helped him and encouraged him that she’d be there for him!!!! They truly are made for each other!!!!!
