This was fun, as it's great to read about the prequel to where the others picked up (although it is a standalone book so you don't need to read it in any order!). All the elements you want in a good book: action, suspense, sexy alpha and super steamy scenes. A quick short read that will have you hooked with a super thrilling story. 5 stars!
Celine, a witch, found her mate in the handsome werewolf Pico. When their daughter was born a witch and not a wolf, he left. Alia is now 5 and Celina misses her mate more.every day. She wants her family whole, so leaving her daughter with her older sister she heads to her mates pack to bring him home.
Pico missed his mate and daughter every day. He left so the coven would teach his daughter. He's only contact is from afar on her birthdays. It is getting harder to live with out them.
Celina finds Pico out on a dangerous mission . His pack is in danger and he is hoping to arrange an alliance. When his alpha is killed, he becomes alpha. Victory comes with a high price.
A fast paced novella lengthy story. Not a lot of world building. No clear understand of the wolf witch mates and the coven separating families. The epilogues were good.and made me interested in reading Alia's story.

This is the beginning of the story, but I was late to the party and started with book 3. This story kinda put several things in perspective for me. I mean, how can you choose between the love of your soulmate or your child? That's what Celina had to do. When she decides to have it all and finds Pico it looks like things are finally fairytale perfect. Wrong. This story has a lot of action and heartbreak for such a short story. However, there is also a perfect love to round things out. It is really a good book and a great beginning for the Legend series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Celina is a witch that imprinted with a wolf. The sad part is their daughter Alia never took to being able to shift into a wolf. This being a hard point for the father Picco, they begin this story separated. Celina is torn by her bond with her mate and trying to protect her daughter. She is trying to do everything possible to give her daughter the best future she can. But, when love and a bond gets involved sometimes it goes into the hands of others. This book was an easy read with me turning the page for more. You will be surprised with the ending. Highly recommend this to everyone.
It's 2 damn short!! It's sad that Pico's parents died. It would have been good if they were alive 4 their grandkids... WTF is her sis deal? She needed 2 stop being a damn bitch and stand up 4 herself and keep what she wanted instead of letting others rule her. Why the hell did she lie about her neice? Damn!! They've been pretty busy constantly making 2 many babies lol it's really sad that Ian was abushed and killed but it's good about axel helping Pico and getting revenge 4 the alpha especially cause he was young and didn't even get 2 find himself a mate.
Celina has missed her mate Pico and has decided that she will go to him and then come back to get her daughter. Pico is missing his mate but has been given a job by by his Alpha to scout the area to check if another pack is about to attack. Thus begins this excellent tale of a wolf and his witch mate. I would highly recommend this book to all who love great romantic shifter tales with great characters and a twist in the tale that I am sure readers will enjoy.
Wow!!! I loved this start to the series. Not only do we see how Pico and Celina started but also what happened to separate them from Alia. Great way to tease us before we read Red Eclipse. I was given the privilege and opportunity to receive a copy and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I think this is going to be a very exciting series. I especially look forward to the adult children who are both witch and wolf.
Our heroine went back to her coven to teach her daughter, she left her mate behind and immediately regretted it. Years later she's pulled to find her mate again and leaves her daughter with her sister, promising to return to get her. Our hero has almost gone feral for want of his mate but he promised to let her go. The pack needs him though as there is trouble underfoot. The pack is betrayed, leaving him Alpha, just when his mate has arrived.
while the story line is good and the characters are likable I found that this was a little lacking in detail - scenes change too swiftly and it leaves you feeling a lack but for all that the story flows nicely and I was glad to see that this is actually a start to a series and I was not left totally hanging
I recommend this as a starter!

Celina is a short pre-quell or now book 1 to The Legend Series but I read it after Red Eclipse and Blood Moon. It was cool to read about what happened that led to where the other books picked up. This book was great in its own right and had all the aspects of a awesome story: action, suspense, sexy alpha and some hot and steamy scenes. I would recommend this book.
An interesting story, if a bit simplistic and choppy. The timeline jumped around quite a bit for such a short story and I felt like I was only getting bits and pieces of everything going on, making it hard to connect with the characters or their romance. Overall, it's an okay read if enjoy a quick, bare bones tale.
Celina and her daughter have magical powers.... Pico Celina mate left when their daughter was born... will they meet back up... things get a big wolfie along the way. Then devisation... will there be a happy ending in the end?
Cant wait to read the next one

I love the way McKayla Schutt writes her characters and stories that grab your attention from the beginning to the end. Celina is another great book because Celina is trying to decide if she should go find her boyfriend that she allowed to leave but she now wants back.

A very fast paced shifter story. Witches and werewolves weren’t supposed to have anything to do with each other. But these two didn’t let that stop them. Their love will be tested by family, time, deaths and lies. But their love always stands it. A short story with some werewolf fighting and a few hot scenes.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
If you've read Alia's story in Red Eclipse then like me , you'll love to go back in time and read this sexy ,action filled , fast paced , emotional story of her parents Celina and Pico in this little prequel to the legend series .
a great short story of how the series begins. It leaves you wanting more of the family and friends of Celina and Pico. The love between Celina and Pico will have your temperature rising, and your heart pounding. You will not want to wait for the next in the series.
Having read Red Eclipse first is was nice to go back and see what happened to Celina and Pico that kept then from their daughter. Great into to the series, I only wish it had been longer. But I want that for all good books. :)
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I liked it. It explains what has happened in past to get to the moments in the book. Characters are great. Wished it was a little longer, but still good. I hope to be able to read the other books in series as well as the rest of Mckayla's books. Thank you.
This is a very well-written prequel to the series. Celina and Pico have had to make a tough choice. They both love each other and their child. Being apart really hurts them. It is a short read but packs an emotional punch as you feel their pain. It will hook you into the series.
Celina is a short pre-quell or now book 1 to The Legend Series I definitely loved it. There us a lot of action and drama that will have you on the edge of your seat. You will be longing to read the next book.
This is my first story by this author and what a story it was. I know it is just a prequel, and really short, but I wasn't ready to say bye to Celina and Pico. I wish there had been more and now I really cant wait to read Alia's story.
A quick short read that was well-written and kept me reading as I had to know what was going to happen. What a surprise ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
