***This is an erotica story- The series can be read in order but the books can stand alone ***
Author McKayla Schutt writes fast-paced paranormal romances with alpha males protecting their powerful ladies and lots of magic. McKayla is a USA Today Bestselling author with Souls and Shadows: A Limited-Edition Romance Anthology. She loves her alphas in all shapes- wolves, dragons, bears, witches, and more. She writes men who make the readers drool.
As a mother of two living in Wyoming, when she’s not in her writing cave, she’s crafting like crazy with yarn. Her first love was reading books and her second was writing them. And to the dismay of her husband, she will always love her spicy romances.
Red Eclipse by McKayla Schutt is a fast paced novel about a witch named Alia and a werewolf named Olsen. Alia is working at the hospital when she gets done with her shift, she walks outside to the sound of a gun shot. She looks over and sees a man that has been shot in the chest. As there is no one around she must take matters into her own hands and heal him herself. Since she is a witch this is easy for her to do, but the only problem is that when she does big magic it causes the seekers to be able to track her. With her being on the run from her coven after doing something horrible she knows it is time to run again before they find her. But the problem with that is she imprinted with Olsen. A werewolf! She must decide whether to mate with him and be a part of his pack or to run and leave it all behind. The only thing is, if she doesn’t mate with Olsen, he will lose his wolf. And that’s something that she doesn’t know if she can do to him. I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down. Even though the book is only 112 pages it’s quick and has you devouring the words in no time. This is an erotica novel, so the sex scenes are extremely hot. Be ready to fan yourselves ladies cause this book is steamy. Can’t wait to read more in this series.
The passion and adventure worked so well in this paranormal romance. Sexy werewolf meets sexy, curvy witch, great combination! This book is a must read if you like Paranormal Romance!
This is a great choice for those who enjoy paranormal romances. If you enjoy shifters and witches, you don't want to miss this couple.
Olsen and Alia are mates but there are many factors that make it dangerous. When she saves him, she also removed his memories. It is not that long before fate brings them together again.
It is a fast paced read with great characters. It is a quick read and will leave you wanting to read more.
Another great book by author McKayla Schutt! I love her previous shifter books and this one adds witches to the shifter mix. The characters are great and work well with the story line. There is a perfect mix of shifter and witch to fill the book with action and some seriously hot and steamy scenes. If you like shifters, witches or both this is a must read.
Very good book. I really liked how it played out in the end. It really didn't work the way they expected. It had a combination of witchcraft and shifter. Perfect balance. A must read
Red Eclipse (The Legend Series Book 1) by McKayla Schutt is a book that I would recommend to anyone interested in the supernatural. This book is a quick read and is fast paced, due to it being about 112 pages. Alia is a nurse at the local hospital that has more to her then meets the eye, and whom is running from her past. Along with being a nurse, Alia is a witch whose coven is currently hunting her down. Working in the hospital she believes she is finally safe, of course that’s when things start to happen. One day after work she ends up seeing a guy that is bleeding out, and has no other option but to use her magic to save him even though using it will alert her old coven to her location. If the guy was a normal human man, that would be the only worry she would have. Unfortunately, he’s not a human, but a werewolf who has imprinted on her as she healed him. Olson is a werewolf who was attacked by a hunter and who most likely should have died from the wounds inflicted on him. Instead he ends up waking up with the memory of a woman who saved him, but with no clue what she looks like. While the hunter is still around, he must find his mate and keep her as well as his pack safe. Will Olson ever find her before the hunter finds him? Will Alias’ coven find her, or will they end up meeting and having a happy future together? I suppose you know what you must do if you want these answers. Believe me, it is well worth the read.
Red Eclipse picks up over 20 years after Celina. Alia, Celina and Pico's daughter has been on the run since she was 18 and in search of her mother. The day she was officially inducted into her aunts coven she is attacked and kills her attacker in self defense. She has managed to be come a nurse and limits her magic use, moving from town to town to stay ahead of the seekers. If she is caught she knows she will be killed. A rough shift at the hospital ends in her using her magic to save the life of a werewolf. Wiping his memory she hopes she has some time to complete her next shift and get out of town before the seekers find her. When she imprints with him, things just go more complicated. Olsen wakes up in an alley with no memory of why he is in the alley, just the smell of his mate all around him. His need for sleep then his sister going into labor puts finding his mate on hold. Olsen and Alia come face to face as his sister delivers her son. Alia can't deny the pull she feels for Olsen. She agrees to complete their bond so he doesn't loose his wolf. Then she needs to run to keep him and herself safe. Olsen convinces he can keep her safe and that she needs to confront her coven. Fast paced and steamy novella. Really liked Olsen and Alia's story. Great epilogue to wrap up their story.
Alia is a witch on the run. She does what she can to avoid using magic, but sometimes there is no choice. She finds a man shot, and there's no time to get help. She uses a spell to save his life, but little does she know he's a werewolf and she's his mate. The sexy wolf, Olsen imprints on her and neither of them can resist one another even when she knows she needs to go on the run to keep him safe. But he isn't willing to let her go without a fight.
This erotic paranormal gives you exactly what it advertises: sizzling scenes, fast-paced action, and a smoking hot werewolf. Alia is immediately sympathetic. She has a cruel boss, a dark secret hanging over her, and she's all alone. She can't go back to her coven or family. Olsen is definitely what she needs in more ways than one! He brings with him a good heart, a loyal pack, and a fiery libido. Their new bond makes it difficult to think about anything outside of each other, but they must find a way to help Alia escape the evil chasing her.
Alia is a nurse working practically non stop thanks to her hag of a boss when tired and exhausted she comes across Olsen in the hospital car park. Olsen has just been shot and Alia saves him. The issue here is that Olsen is a werewolf and Alia is a witch. She is also on the run. By using her magic to save Olsen she has painted a massive target on her back, this isn't helped by the fact that Olsen has imprinted on her and now she is his mate. Alia manages to wipe his memory but it’s not long before they run into each other again, this time in the maternity ward where his sister is having her baby. Olsen manages to explain that if they don't complete the mating bond he will lose his wolf. Despite her fears Alia agrees to mate but doesn't bank on falling in love. When her past catches up with her can Alia have her mate and her freedom? This is a fast paced story with strong characters and plenty of chemistry - the sex isn't bad either!
Red Eclipse at its core is a love story. Alia is a witch who is on the run and fate has her at the right time right place to help and meet Olsen who just happens to be a werewolf. There is insta-attraction which I normally find unbelievable and annoying but in this case there is a reason behind it and it fits and makes sense. Olsen will do anything to make sure Alia is safe so together with friends they go on a journey to confront head on the reasons why Alia is on the run - Sorry I don't do Spoilers ;) There is oodles of sex in this book, a little too much in my opinion but again there is reasoning behind it and it is an erotica book so its expected. This was a fun enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing where this series goes. .
Alia is a witch running from her past when she encounters Olsen & heals him. Little does she know that Olsen is a werewolf who has imprinted with her.
As a longtime reader of PNR, this book is a unique tale of interspecies love. Well-developed characters, lots of action, great story & lots of hot, steamy sex. The writing is excellent & you will be surprised at every twist in the story.
A very good book that you will devour in one sitting, so don't start it until you have time to finish it! A great beginning to what is sure to be a great series!
That was crazy that those seekers thought they could get a way with that shit and the coven not trying 2 do anything 2 stop them. That bitch aunt needs her fucking ass beat 4 being such a hateful bitch 2 destroy every one's families cause she was stupid enough 2 let her mate and child leave cause she wouldn't put her foot down 2 her parents. It was a blessing that she happen 2 save her mate and she protected him more than him with her lol (bruised ego 4 a man) lol r they going 2 stay with her parents or go back home? That is really curious about...
A witch who has been running far to long ends up saving a wolf from almost certain ending , but in the process ends fighting a mating thrall while in danger from her past . I really got into this short Paranormal romance .It was well written , the characters have chemistry , but not overboard in this fast on the go storyline...it keeps you on your toes with the twists and turns , while bringing in the heat and romance .
Alia is a witch on the run. Everyday life is about getting by with a job that sucks and not getting caught by the seekers. Then walks in Olsen throwing her already disastrous life upside down. The journey these two go through to be together is inspiring. With threats around every turn this book will keep you reading till the very end. Definitely recommend this book to everyone that was steamy, suspense and romance all mixed into one.
Our heroine left at 18, running for her life, or so she thought. Our hero is shot outside her hospital and when she saves him they imprint. She completes the mate bond but her magic has brought the ones hunting her. Her new mate convinces her to return to her coven and clear her name. When she does that she discovers her coven lied to her about her mother leaving.
I was given a ARC of this book in return for a honest review
Wow just when I think this authors books won't surprise me it does Red Eclipse is one of the best books she has written so far. Twist,Turns, and Surprises I love this book
I was so anxious to read Alia's story! And I love how she brought in the ending from Celina's book so that we could see her side of the meeting! This series keeps getting better and better!
Though repetitive internal monologue is somewhat annoying, the overall story of a witch and a werewolf as mates (and boy, do they mate!) while eluding bad guys is exciting and steamy. My first time reading this author and I will be pleased to try her again.
Wow! The only complaint I have is that it didn't last longer. The characters are well put together and the story flowed beautifully. I could really feel myself drawn into their world. I loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my first book by McKayla and it was a great book. Alia is a nurse who is on the run. Alia meets Olsen who happens to be her mate they imprint but Alia erases his memory. But faith has a way of bringing them back together. With Olsen been a wolf there was no way in hell he was going to let his mate go. They have to fight to be together.
Good steamy PNR story. I liked Alia and Olsen, would like to learn more about their world of witches and werewolves. Good steamy scenes and fast paced. I would read more of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Red Eclipse is the first book in The Legend series, by McKayla Schutt. It is an erotic shifter Romance, with magic, action, adventure and drama. Alia Lyco has been looking over her shoulder for so long now, it has become second nature. She never settles in one place for too long, trying to keep one step ahead of those who are pursuing her. Once part of a powerful coven, an incident occurred and she was deemed to have broken fundamental coven law, if found guilty the punishment would have been death. Afraid that she would not receive a fair trial, she fled. Alia is now a witch on the run, finding work where ever she can and unable to fully use her magic- as its signature can be used to trace her whereabouts. One night on her way home from work, Alia comes across an injured man. He has been critically wounded and she needs to act quickly to save his life. She realises that he must be a wolf shifter as he has been shot with a silver bullet. He is barely conscious and muttering something about imprinting. Touching him triggers a powerful charge between them, which both frightens and excites her. But she doesn’t have time to dwell on it as he is fading fast. She can’t let him die, so Alia has no choice but to use her magic to save his life- knowing that she will be giving away her whereabouts, and will have to flee yet again. Olsen had been out for a run, but wakes up in an alley knowing he’d been shot, but remembering little else. Though, he is certain that the woman who saved him is truly his mate. He knows that he imprinted on her and is fiercely driven to find her. But all he has to go on is the scent of her left behind in the alley. So begins his quest to track her down. When he does finally find her, it’s in the most unexpected way. Alia is shocked to come face to face with the man she had saved. The chemistry between them is palpable, overwhelming and electrifying. She swoons whenever he is around her. He fights his wolf side, so as not to rip her clothes off there and then, and consummate the imprint. He has to convince her to be his, as his wolf depends on it. But she has some very powerful witches looking for her; she can’t stay, she must go- and by her leaving will protect him too. Olsen has finally found the mate he has been looking for, for so long. What happens when he finds out about her past and the reason she is on the run? Can he protect her from what is about to happen? Will his wolf remain, or will he lose it forever? Will they be able to find what that they’ve both been looking for? The story has a great concept, I love a good shifter story- this book has all the ingredients needed for it to be the beginning of a great series. It is a light-hearted, steamy, quick read. The story has a fast pace that keeps you fixed on the action, but towards the end of the book I felt it was a little rushed. There were a few minor time line and plot issues for me- but overall they didn’t detract too much from the story. I thought the characters were interesting and likeable. Ms. Schutt did a good job of creating a cast of individual characters who all gave something to the development of the plot. But, I would have liked to learn more about Alia’s background, family and history. The book is a standalone, in what I assume to be a series of standalones. It’s told from a duel POV and has a HEA. I loved the ending and epilogue. I will definitely read the next book in the series, as I am intrigued by what the author might do in the next book.
Red Eclipse was one of those novels that had me excited to read paranormal once again. Too often this genre seems to resemble one another and what I love is seeing how one author will push the limits and bring something entirely different to the genre. As the first novel I've read by McKayla Schutt, I doubt I could have asked for any better from her or for the genre. As a witch on the run, Alia comes across Olsen when he's injured and decides to save his life. She knows what he is and what the imprint symbol on her skin means but she can't risk his life for the danger that continuously follows her. Too bad Alia didn't take the time to realize that Olsen isn't ready to give up so easily on fate, even if he can't remember what she looks like.
4.5 sexy dreams
If the story wasn't enough to draw you in, then trust me on this one, the scenes between these two will have you begging for more. They are hot and seductive, and I won't lie, I really wanted more. McKayla Shutt knows how to draw in readers so they'll keep wanting more, but most of all, she writes stories that will keep you coming back for more.
I give Red Eclipse (book 1 in The Legend Series) by McKayla Schutt 4 stars
Alia has been a witch on the run for a long time. She has successfully eluded the ones hunting her by not settling down. She moves every few years. She has been living here for 11 months without a problem and she is finally starting to feel settled in. Although she hasn’t used any spells requiring major power, she still looks over her shoulder.
One night she is sent home early from her late shift at the hospital just so she can come back in a few hours. She is exhausted and quite pissed at the way her boss pushes her around. But she needs the job. She is just getting to her car in the parking lot when she hears the gunshots. She rushes over and she sees a man shot and laying on the ground. She looks around to call for help, but there is no one. She can’t get him into the hospital and if she doesn’t do something, he will die. She feels compelled to help him. She knows it will be a calling card to those hunting her, but she has to save him. She decides to wipe this event from his memory so he won’t look for her or be in more danger. Before he passes out, he whispers something. She’s heard it before but can’t quite remember what it means.
Olson wakes up in this stinking alley near the hospital. He remembers being shot by some punk werewolf hunter, but that’s all. Only the hole in his shirt and the puckered skin around the wound show that he has healed. But this couldn’t have happened naturally. All he was is the scent of her, no memory of her at all. His Wolf is claiming her and he know he must find her. Fate plays a hand and he finds her in the oddest way.
Will she be willing to be claimed as his? If they don’t mate, he will lose his Wolf side. But he won’t pressure her. She reveals the trouble she is in and he swears he will protect her whatever way he can. She doesn’t want him to lose his Wolf and she agrees, thinking she will be able to walk away and leave him safe after. He doesn’t need her burdens. But can she walk away? If not, can they pull this off and keep her safe? She always wanted stability and a family, could this finally be what she wished for or is it just a pipe dream?
This has the makings of a very good series. It is light-hearted and a quick read. The characters are fun and I hope they go more into them as the series goes on. There is action, hot and heavy scenes, and some comical parts. It seems like a good first book in the series but I really hope they elaborate more as the series goes on. Even so, I am interested to read more and see where this series goes.
Alia is a young witch on the run. Working as a nurse in a small town she is just trying to lay low. Easier said than down especially with a supervisor who takes advantage of you. On the walk home from a long shift she saves someone who would change her life for the better or the worse? It's still too soon to decide which. Olsen is second in command of his pack. After being caught off guard by a hunter he wakes up the next day with the imprinted scent of his mate. The only problem is he can't remember what happened the night before therefore he can't remember what his mate looked like. When they finally come together after Olsen's sister goes into labor, he will stop at nothing to get Alia to agree to be his mate. But with Alia on the run can Olsen protect what's his before it's too late?
I loved this book. I wasn't sure to be honest if i would because I'ma woman who judges by the cover. Yes, I am one of those people. And this cover didn't call to me like i was hoping. So i started it and was sucked into Alia and Olsen's love story. From the first chapter it's jammed pack with magic and shifters. I loved how Alia may be on the run but that didn't stop her from living her life. She may be ready to run at a moment's notice but hey she still lived her life. I loved how she ended up being a nurse. She may not use her magic in case the seekers find her but she still has a craving to heal. She didn't let her being in hiding stop her from saving a man that will change her life and let her live her life. It makes sense if you read the book. I really really liked how she wasn't stubborn in becoming Olsen’s mate. Yeah, she had thoughts but it wasn't like most stories where they just down right deny their mates. Now Olsen i loves how he was a redhead. I have a huge soft spot for redheads. He was really determined to find her. He is carrying and such a great brother. You can tell he will do anything and everything to protect what's his. I loved how he helped Alia become stronger. All the twist and turns in this book where amazing. I didn't know what was going to happen which was awesome. The storyline to me wasn't predictable, the writing was amazing. The characters were perfect. McKayla Schutt is a new author to me and i look forward to many more books by her.
Red Eclipse (The Legend Series Book 1) By: McKayla Schutt 5 out of 5 stars
The story Red Eclipse (The Legend Series Book 1) by McKayla Schutt is a paranormal romance book. Alia’s past is coming back to bite her when she saves a werewolf from a gunshot wound. She has to figure out if she can trust the sexy werewolf or leave him behind. Her life is constantly in danger as she is on the run from her old coven. She is falling in love with Olsen and it causes her tremendous pleasure, however, it also causes distress as she fears for his life. Olson knows two things. The woman who saved him is his mate and he can’t remember what she looks like. Fate assures that he does meet her again. He is second in command of his pack and it has always come first, however, finding his mate changes all of that. He will do anything to keep Alia. Will it be enough?
I absolutely love paranormal shifter books and this one is amazing. It tells the tale of what happens when a werewolf finds his mate and she is a witch. There is a lot going on in this story and I found myself finishing it very quickly. The characters of Olson and Alia are wonderful. Alia is a nurse and a witch. She has been on the run from her coven because there was a death and they blame her for it. She is always ready to help others and always thinks of everyone’s safety. Olson is loyal and protective of his pack and now that he has found her, his mate. He would lay down his life for either of them. The other characters are either part of the werewolf pack or those from Alia’s coven who are hunting her. There are friends, but also enemies that they have to deal with. I also really liked the details given on other pairings of witches and werewolves along with information on Alia’s background.
This is a fast-paced, plenty of action and tons or steamy romance story. Caution: when reading, I would have plenty of ice-water available. This story would be recommended for those 18 years or older.
This is my first read from this Author. McKayla Schutt did a very good job on this book (Red Eclipse). This book is well written. Alia and Olsen first meet, when she is leaving her job. Olsen has been shot. Alia goes to him, to help him and Olsen instantly imprints on Alia. Alia feels the bond too. It's instant. But Alia knows she can't stay, she has to leave so, she has to make Olsen forget her, so she erases his mind, so he will forget her. But even though he can't remember her, he knows he imprinted on her, and he will stop at nothing to find her. Olsen and Alia are great together. Their chemistry is sexy and hot. Perfect match, even though their so different. Olsen is a wolf and Alia is a witch. I always enjoyed how a wolf imprints on his mate. It's a bond that can't be broke, it's like they become one. Soul mates for life. Olsen and Alia go through so much. They have to stay together. So much is trying to keep them apart. Perfect pair. This story is sexy, steamy, and fast paced. Has a lot of twist, you just have to keep reading. This is a really good story. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I had many emotions while reading this story, happiness, sadness, just so many. I really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to reading more from this Author. I'm looking forward to reading more to this series. Great start to this series. Thank you, McKayla Schutt. Good work :)
FIVE STARS! Red Eclipse by McKayla Schutt was remarkable. I thought going into this book that it would be just like any other werewolf story but I like the spin she put on this book by making the female character a witch. Alia is a witch on the run. Due to a mistake she made when she first became a witch, she has been on the run from what are called “seekers” her whole life, without using magic, she is safe. One night on her way home from her shift at the town hospital’s maternity ward, she comes across a man shooting another man, well werewolf. Alia then uses her magic to heal him and erase his memory of her. But before she could do that he imprints on her, thus starts their relationship… Olsen is a werewolf, he knows someone saved him from the silver bullet the night before, but he can’t remember what she looks like, just her scent, and that she is his mate. He meets Alia the next day when she helps deliver his sister’s baby and the scent from her matches the one from the previous night of the woman who saved him. From then on there was no way he was letting her go. When he finds out Alia’s story and why she is running he will stop at nothing to protect her from the “seekers”. Together they battle the “seekers”, Alia’s coven, finding her mom and dad and figuring out their new found love and bond with each other. I would recommend this book to any werewolf lover, it is sweet and still has a hint of thrill.
