The alien-adoption series is a clever riff on the 'found family' trope. This one is particularly exciting with dangerous storms, rustlers, and charming secondary characters including the robot JO-3. Although it follows the 'fated mate' trope, Arik is definitely more alpha-male than alpha-hole, taking the time to get to know Lucy before giving into his biological imperatives.

Me pareció aburrido, aunque en realidad pasan un montón de cosas. Toda la historia es el viaje en sí, pero si estás en compañía de un dragón todo poderoso, ¿cuál es el chiste?

Lucy Solitude has come to the moon of Atropos to claim her adopted daughter. She knows life on this moon will not be easy but she is excited to be a mother and determined to ensure her daughter's future. No one told her that her Imberian baby came with an Invicta warrior, but she is sure she will be happy to have Arik's company until Flora is grown. The first order of business is to get themselves and a small herd of bison to the distant mountains where Flora's homestead is located. Atropos's ice fields and lava terraces had to be avoided, so they would be following the twisting rivers which were fed by hot springs that kept there shorelines free of ice. This added distance to the trip, but was a much safer route. There was also the Atropos weather to be wary of; severe storms could spring up in mere moments. Lucy is very happy that she has extra help for the trip.

Arik cannot believe that this little Terran is his mate, but his dragon has no doubts. Now all he has to do is explain it to her. Maybe he will first concentrate on getting them all safely to their new home. There are plenty of dangers they may encounter on the journey, but Lucy seems to be taking everything in stride - or at least she is until the first storm hits...

Great story! The usual insta-love is there, but the journey they have to take to get to their new home is full of surprises and peril. Loved little Flora.

“Arik: Alien Adoption Agency #7” is the seventh book in the Alien Adoption Agency series and the stories are all standalone. The characters have depth, the story is well written with many surprising twists and turns and the romance is warm and snuggly. Tasha Black returns us to the Alien Adoption Agency but she gives it a boost because we are on a different Moon, Atropos, a desolate, cold place, prone to sudden earthquakes, blizzards, wild animals and rustlers.
Lucy adores Flora immediately and is attracted to Arik, the Invicta Dragon Warrior, charged with guarding Flora. The attraction is strong between them but they try to ignore it and make their way to the farm provided for her and the baby. The journey is long, hard and filled with danger and severe weather. They realize they will need all of their ingenuity and courage to get their herd of Bison across the ice plains and find a way to work together. Will they survive the rustlers and the dangers of the environment?
This is a sweet romance with danger, the suspense, intrigue and mystery continue throughout and an unbelievable ending! Another wonderful read!

Number seven in the alien adoption agency series. And this book they find themselves on a very inhospitable planet, or moon if you will. Lucy and two other females arrived to receive their new adopted children, adorable little alien babies. With each baby comes a warrior, an Invicta dragon warrior. Little did she know his job does not finish when she receives the infant, he is in charge of the child for the next 20 years. Lucy is amazing, she’s already so in love with the little one whom the warrior has named Flora. Along with some ranch hands and a couple robots they have to make their way quite a distance to reach the ranch. It is so cold, Lucy does not know how they’re going to make it but she is ready to go. They also have to drive some tundra bison along with them. The story follows how Lucy and Arik are drawn to each other, and becomes more than just a mate call. The trek is dangerous, and exciting, and one way to find out about each other. Such a good story, all the characters are well defined and have their goals to play in the story. The descriptions of the planet are amazing, it feels like you can actually see the planet. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Arik and Lucy

It was cute, as are all the books. I actually liked Arik being cocky and a little arrogant at the beginning and almost wished he had stayed that way. Some of the cocksure attitude remained but he definitely softened.

Lucy was a great female lead. Her dedication to Flora and to the herd they were driving was admirable. I also liked that she wasn’t instantly falling into Arik’s arms. There was more push/pull in this book than in previous ones.

The side characters were enjoyable. I do think this was the first book that had a lesbian female in it, which surprised and delighted me. Charley was a fun and ballsy woman. Miles- I wished we had gotten more of him. Arik was a bit of a dick when it came to Miles and I do understand it was jealousy- but that never really got resolved and that’s one of the reasons this isn’t a five star review.

That and the middle dragged just a little. It was a bit like the train story in the last book- I was ready for them to get to their destination. It was still very enjoyable though and I can’t wait to read the next one

Arik & Lucy + baby

A male who recognizes a woman's strength and allows her to use it--and not just internal strength. I love it.

They were both soldiers. She'd been injured and didn't rejoin. He'd been given the honor of protecting a baby. Not only protecting the sweet child he'd come to love but his dragon recognized what Lucy was to him. Would she agree?

The travel to the birthright home for the baby was dangerous and brutal. Would they make it? There were enemies the biggest but not only is the weather and terrain. Her natural abilities and previous training come in handy. Along with his dragon and fierce warrior side they make for a good team. The hired hands have their own abilities and combined they are a force.

I enjoyed this as with all the Adoption stories. This was unique and I recommend it

Wonderfully captivating addition to wonderful series of books
This was a wonderful read it was lovely to read about Lucy as she had decided to take a huge step and travel out to adopt a beautiful baby and raise her all by herself and she cannot wait.
I found the description of her meeting with the Invicta warrior who is to stay and protect baby Flora until she reaches her twentieth birthday to be very touching, the interaction between Lucy and Arik is quite wonderful especially when his dragon is so instantly aware she is his fated mate.
I guarantee that you will love this book and that you will read it in one sitting.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy

Lucy and Arik encounter several obstacles on the way to the homestead that is baby Flora’s birthright. Arik immediately realizes Lucy is his mate when he sees her arrive on the transport. He is impressed by her cool and calm demeanor in the face of adversity and obstacles along their arduous journey.

The story focuses on the attraction between Lucy and Arik, and the adjustments both of them have to consider in how they see the other. A few misunderstandings and differences add some extra drama to an adventuresome journey.

This is an entertaining read with a HEA.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Lucy moves to a new moon of Atropos, which is a hostile moon. She is adopting Baby Flora but is surprised to find out Arik, baby Flora's guardian is part of the package until Flora becomes and adult. To complicate matters more Arik is an Invicta dragon warrior and he believes Lucy is his mate. They must trek from the landing site to the homestead across the moon surface and avoid the volcanic activity, chilling temperatures, low supplies due to water damage and rustlers. Will Arik be able to keep them safe until they reach their new home? I love this book, the story was action packed and caught my attention from page one. This is a great read.

Wow! Another amazing, page-turner by Tasha Black! ... “ARIK” is the 7th fan-freaking-tastic must read in the awesome ‘Alien Adoption Agency’ series! ... Each has a fresh unique storyline, and well-defined characters so relatable & with witty dialogue. It grabbed me from the start to where I did not want to put it down & read this in record time! ...

Even tho I volunteered to read this before release day, it was without any outside influences & I usually buy kindle books whenever I am able to. So I can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction & now I can’t wait for more!

This is a sweet romance with danger, a sweet baby and an unbelievable ending. Lucy is selected to adopt a baby who is guarded by an Invicta dragon warrior. She is a warrior herself but has an immediate attraction to Arik. Arik's dragon knows that Lucy is his fated mate and he has a difficult time reining in his dragon. They have a long hard trip to reach the farm provided for her and the baby. The moon her farm is on is dangerous and they must work together along with their hired help to reach her new home. Well worth reading!!

I just loved Arik and Lucy. This is a really fun series that I'm always super excited to see a new entry from and it quickly became one of my absolute favorites. The writing is well done and the storyline entertaining and engaging. The smartly crafted combination of emotion, adventure, drama, humor, heart, excitement and heat is utterly delicious and sinfully easy to get wrapped up in. I am electing to post an objective review.

You know a story is good when the ending leaves you smiling and wanting more. Arik does exactly that. There’s danger that both Arik and Lucy must pit their strengths against. And they slip easily into romance and love. Plus, of course, there’s baby Flora. A family ready to meet and stay forever. How could anyone not enjoy that! The author captures the highs and lows with a gentle and caring touch. Yet leaves me wanting more. I love this story!

Arik and Lucy were awesome to read about. I love how Lucy took over Flora immediately. She was a perfect mom. Arik was a phenomenal dad and together they made the perfect team. With the animals and as a couple they worked so well together right from the start. I can't wait to see if there will be a sequel to this book. It will be awesome if this one is any indication. Tasha Black never fails to grab my attention and hold onto it throughout the story. Another magnificent read.

This is a warm and romantic story about a warrior and a soldier and a little girl. It is my favorite (so far) of the Alien Adoption Agency series. A serious warrior who falls in love with a little girl. A woman who is strong in her skills and protectiveness. There is a threat, to be met by both. Bravo!! Love the interaction of the men and women found within the pages.

What an amazing world and characters!

This book was different than what I expected, in a good way. This is a fated mates story, which I always love. The world building is amazing and I could picture it in my mind. Arik and Lucy were both strong characters, and I love that he let her be independent. Baby Flora was adorable and indeed the perfect baby. I loved Charley and Miles too. This book was action packed! Can't wait for the next!

Very intense and adventurous story which matches the adventurous nature of this risktakers couple. Introduction to this new moon is very detailed and interesting, some of the occupants reminded me of the ways of the old wild west. Lucy is very independent, Arik is patient, understanding and respectful. Enjoyed the romance of their story as their journey builds anticipation and excitement. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to read and leave a review.

While this is book 7 in the Alien Adoption Agency series, it is completely standalone which makes this a perfect read for when you don't have much time and just want a fun, entertaining read. This story is well written with well drawn characters and a situation that is easily imagined from the descriptions. I really liked Lucy and Flora was adorable, but I found Arik a bit smug, which was off-putting. Overall, a great way to fill some time.

Baby Love

Lucy is looking forward to meeting the baby she volunteered to adopt! She is excited to make a fresh start on a colonized moon. Arik is an Invicta guard who is the baby's guardian. He is to protect baby Flora until she has grown up. The trip to the homestead reserved for Flora is a long and arduous journey. Sometimes it feels like the moon is testing or even fighting them. Will they get to the homestead safely or will the moon win the fight?!

Arik by T. Black is book seven in this series. Every book is about another couple and a stand-alone.
Lucy from Earth and Tarik from Atropos signed a contract to raise an orphan.
Instead he believes his mate is near and she - sorry not sorry no spoilers here. Pnly so much, this is an action packed, fast paced, nsfw scenes adoption agency story that had me from chapter one. 4,5 stars.

We are back with the alien adoption agency series but now we are on a different moon. Lucy and Arik are the cutest together! They both are warriors she with the Home Guard and he is with the Invictus. Lucy took to Flora right away and Flora to her. This new moon is fraught with dangers from rustlers and and inhospitable environment that makes trekking across the surface extremely dangerous. Will they survive the rustlers and the dangers of the environment?

Arik

Going to a new planet and starting a new life with her new daughter is everything Lucy has been waiting for. She was not expecting to find her mate in the guardian of her new daughter. Now if they can only reach the ranch alive and with all the animals everything would be fine. Recommend this book and series
