When Amihanna di Aetes first got to Sel’Ani, she never thought she’d have the full support of the Aunare, but she does. She never thought that she’d fall in love, get married, or become the High Queen, but she did. She never thought that she’d be planning something so stupid as her return to Earth, but that’s exactly what she’s doing.
With the Alliance broken, SpaceTech has fully retreated to their home planet, but the chaos of war will descend again. Amihanna and Lorne know they don’t have much time to plan their next move. Everything in their guts tells them to head straight to Earth, and that going into the heart of SpaceTech’s territory is stupid, reckless, and very likely deadly.
Amihanna and Lorne have one chance to end this war quickly, protect the Aunare, free the Earthers from SpaceTech’s rule, and save Declan, Ahiga, and the missing ABQ Crew members. Trying to do it all feels impossible, but Amihanna has never been one to back down from a challenge, especially when defeating SpaceTech was never just her mission. It’s her destiny.
Aileen Erin is half-Irish, half-Mexican and 100% nerd-from Star Wars (prequels don’t count) to Star Trek (TNG FTW), she reads Quenya and some Sindarin, and has a severe fascination with the supernatural. Aileen has a BS in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. She lives with her husband, daughter, and mischievous mini bernedoodle in Texas, and spends her days doing her favorite things: reading books, creating worlds, and kicking ass.
I’m overjoyed and supremely satisfied with the ending of this story, however I’m also in mourning that we are moving on from Ami & Lorne.
This is the 4th full book in this saga (5th in sequence if you include In Command the 2.5 placed “novella”). It’s best read in sequence as all the story builds and you will get the most depth of understanding and satisfaction from this ending if you do.
This is the conclusion of Ami & Lorne’s journey to save both of their people from the evil empire that is SpaceTech.
We pick up almost exactly where we left off at the end of On Mission and then transition through situations of tension, stress, adrenaline, anger and anguish with moments interwoven that will make you smile and laugh as our High Royal pair reach the breaking point and finally take the fight to Earth.
It’s definitely a rollercoaster in how we get from point a to ending z in this one and along the way a lot of threads get tied off. We revisit some things with the perspective of time and everything that has happened since page one of book one, bringing the story full circle in the most amazing way.
Fingers crossed that we can visit with them in their Happily Ever After someday.
I requested an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley and was blessed to be able to read it. These are my honest feelings.
I received this ARC for an honest review. First, this is not a stand alone book. I highly recommend this series. It’s complex, attention grabbing, and you never want to put the book down. Aileen Erin wrapped up the series perfectly. This series is about Amihanna and Lorne. Amihanna when she was a small child was lost in a future setting on Earth. She is from Sel’Ani. Her family was visiting earth when her mother and her got separated and lost on Earth because war broke out. Amihanna became a survivor and a leader. I’m not giving more background because everything is explained in the previous books. Which is a must read. Lorne is also from Sel’Ani and they were friends when they were younger. His corrupt father was the king of Sel’Ani. Their fates had been tied since birth. There is so much I want to say, but I want you to read this series! I don’t like posting spoilers. I loved this series and hope there will be some short stories about what their lives are like after the war. Aileen Erin is a must read author for me.
Soooo good! I love this series and I usually don't like "space" stories. I was turned to this author because of another book and jumped in willingly. And I'm glad I did...to finish this series, this story is incredibly satisfying. I can't wait to own them all in paperback!
Aileen Erin is one of my favorite authors and I love this series. The sad part though, this is the last book of the Aunare Chronicles. Amihanna and Lorne were a perfect match. The action was non-stop and the author crafted an extremely satisfying ending. The only thing I wish was that some of the minor characters could have their own stories. I want to find out what happens to Declan, Roan, Nori, and the royal guards. They all deserve their HEA, but isn't that the sign of a well written book, it leaves you wanting more. A prequel for Ami's parents would be fantastic. An exciting book and series, definitely a winner!
The Aunare Chronicles has been a thrilling sci-fi adventure from start to finish with enough romance to swoon and action to delight. On Destiny is the stunning conclusion that far from disappoints, leaving the series in victory and the reader satisfied. A must-read for any and all fans of space, big tech overlords, alien kingdoms, and the ever-inspiring grit of humanity.
I am so sick to death every year of the fake reviews and ratings on this book. At this point book three has 341 ratings, and book four has 975. Yeah, that's totally real and no one paid for fake ratings. Get some damn integrity. It was a good book, and I liked the author before all this crap. Seriously, it happens in the same month every year and I get a ridiculous number of likes from accounts with little activity that all like and five star the same books. Enjoy your highly ranked one star rating you forced up.
So this review is getting some unusual activity. It’s consistently been getting around five likes a day the past few weeks, and it isn’t that special. But those likes are all coming from accounts with less than five friends, no reviews, minimal read books, and all these account histories are showing the group is liking the same dozen or so reviews between them (including a lot on unheard of indie books). These are not my goodreads friends, or people that follow me. You seriously can’t expect me to believe that the 20% of people who have read this book all liked reviews with four or five stars, especially as these reviews were written over two years ago and there’s literally only been two reviews written this year. Which kind of implies there haven’t been a huge amount of people reading this recently. Except that in October it strangely had 148 five star ratings out of 160 five star ratings for the entire year, and 167 four star ratings out of 181 four star ratings for the entire year. Which means over half the entire ratings for this book came in October 2024 from four and five star ratings, two years after it came out. Plus, this book has over double the ratings of book three. Yep, double the number of people read book four and enjoyed it so much they had to give it four and five star ratings without knowing any of the story or characters and it magically made so much sense and they loved it? *coughs*scam. I mean, maybe there were a thousand copies given away, and a large portion decided to read it immediately and rate it on Goodreads and not just leave it on a tbr for a rainy day. That totally happens. I get that you’d want the more favourable reviews of your books to be top of the list, and maybe this wasn’t a paid scam. Maybe the company took it upon themselves as a demonstration to reach out and ask for money after giving an example of what they could do (I have seen ads for this service). I have no proof either way, just assumptions based on the visible facts. It’s technically a grey area but I’m still going to question integrity here.
Oringinal review: This wasn't as soul shattering as I expected. If there's anything I've learned to expect from Aileen Erin's books recently, it's that they're going to be emotional heavy hitters, and the characters are basically going to be tortured. I mean, that still happens, but it was way toned down from some of the other trials Amihanna has endured previously. (I didn't even cry in this one. The brutality of some of the other book weren't in here). It was strangely more religious than I remembered the others though. Lots of references to God, which was odd considering some of the characters are literally from a different galaxy and would have different deities and names for them, surely. There's a great balance between action and character development, the pacing was good, and everything is tied up nicely. Some of the conflict was a little underdeveloped (beyond being told someone has a funny feeling), but it's YA so I tend to expect some of those moments. I did think some of the side characters needed a little more page time, but the story got told and it didn't need to be longer. It's been a consistent series, and I really enjoyed this world.
I wanted to like this more, but I was somewhat disappointed.
It felt very anti-climatic — I had hoped for a bigger war ending battle, but we only got skirmishes. I had hoped for some kind of space battle, but we didn’t get much of that. I had hoped Amihanna would hand Jason his ass, but she just punched him once and then he passed out… There was no resolution with Declan, they basically just yelled bye at each other across a funeral gathering. The pregnancy twist was so cliche, and really doesn’t make sense for this relatively new couple. Even some of the writing wasn’t well done, with lots of repetition of words, sometimes very weak word choice, and very little showing — too much telling.
I did like that Amihanna finally came into herself. I was so glad she got her memories back. But unfortunately, it was Lorne’s time to annoy me — we got endless scenes of his guilt. It was too repetitive.
I really loved the first 2, but the rest fell short for me. I loved the world building and the Aunare race, but it wasn’t enough to make this conclusion what I had hoped for.

Aileen Erin you out did yourself with this book! It was well worth the wait! It had the action, drama, and who done it that I didn't even know I needed! It was a perfect way to wrap up Ami's and Lorne's journey. It was perfect. I love how Lorne and the team got to see Amiannha in her element! Leading the way! You know a book is good when you're ready to read it again already! I cannot wait for the Audible version. I'm getting a hard copy too!
On Destiny is the fourth installment in Aileen Erin's beloved Alpha Girl series, and it plunges protagonist Tessa McCaide into the deepest, most dangerous waters yet. For established fans of the series, this volume delivers high stakes, intense action, and the characteristic blend of loyalty, magic, and romance that defines the series. Continuing the Saga By the time we reach On Destiny, Tessa is no longer the new, confused girl adjusting to life among werewolves. She is a powerful, recognized witch and a critical part of the pack, but her evolving powers come with a heavy price. This book immediately ups the ante from On Power, focusing not just on external threats but on Tessa's internal struggle with her immense, often volatile, magic. The core conflict in On Destiny revolves around the dark forces threatening the world—the witches and warlocks of the Shadow. The lines between good and evil, loyalty and betrayal, become extremely blurred, forcing Tessa and her Alpha mate, Dastien, to make impossible decisions that test the foundation of their relationship and their commitment to their friends. The Strengths: Character and Pacing Character Development Tessa’s journey is the heart of this book. We see her moving past initial insecurities and embracing a role of formidable leadership, often having to sacrifice personal ease for the greater good of her friends and the pack. She is a genuinely strong female lead—not just because of her magic, but because of her emotional resilience and willingness to face terrifying odds. The romance between Tessa and Dastien remains a cornerstone, but it's handled maturely. It’s less about the initial spark and more about the difficult work of maintaining a relationship under existential pressure. Their bond is tested by new pack dynamics and the ever-present threat of being separated by magical conflicts. Pacing and World-Building Erin excels at relentless pacing. The action sequences—magical battles, werewolf fights, and desperate escapes—are fast, cinematic, and frequent, making this a true page-turner. Crucially, the world-building continues to expand. We learn more about the ancient history of the witches, the dark side of their magic (the Shadow), and the prophecies tethered to Tessa’s existence. For readers who enjoy rich lore woven seamlessly into an exciting plot, this book absolutely delivers. Areas for Reflection While the book is highly satisfying, new readers should not start here. The plot and character dynamics rely heavily on the events of the first three books, and jumping in without context would be confusing. The sheer volume of threats and drama can, at times, feel overwhelming. The characters rarely get a moment to breathe, which, while maintaining high tension, sometimes lessens the impact of quieter, emotional moments. Final Verdict On Destiny is an essential chapter for fans of the Alpha Girl series. It deepens the mythology, tests the main couple's resilience, and solidifies Tessa's place as a powerful force in the paranormal world. If you love young adult fantasy with complex magic, dedicated pack loyalty, and a passionate central romance, this installment is a must-read that sets the stage brilliantly for the rest of the series.

I should've stopped reading long before the end of the series. But, also, the series should have been far shorter. I guess I thought the author would hit her stride and the promising relationship between the main characters would save the whole. But instead, the author buried an interesting story under pages and pages and pages of repetitive conversations and actions, and kept having her "smart" characters do idiotic things to drag out the drama. And dear heaven, when you find yourself writing FFS stop and rethink what you're doing!
I have very mixed feelings about this last book. I really enjoyed the series as a whole and I don't know if it is because there was a break between the others and this one when I read it but I could not stand Amihanna's behaviour. She kept making the same mistakes over and over again and I wanted to yell at her. I liked the last quarter of the book but that's it. I also got quite fed up with Amihanna's motivation thoughts at the end of each chapter. After the tenth time you feel like you got it and it keeps being repeated.
That said, I would probably give a go to another series from this author as I remember loving the first books. Maybe this series was a little too long...
I enjoyed reading about Amihanna and Lorne adventures. I thought this was a well written story. It has a good storyline. It kept my interest throughout the story. It's was a page turner. and Lorne I enjoyed reading about their adventures. I thought this was a well written story. It has a good storyline. It kept my interest throughout the story. It's was a page turner.
Thank you to the author and publisher for letting me read this story. I read and reviewed an advanced copy this book. All opinions and thoughts are of my own.
Exciting conclusion to this alien and earth sci-fi and fantasy series. The lead woman learns a secret about herself that others have been keeping from her, and once she learns, briefly keeps it from her husband. It's always the same secret about women in every story, ever. Typos: Where do I begin? Possibly the sloppiest of the series. Sentence fragments everywhere, one or more run-on sentences, missing and repeated words, spelling errors (its has no apostrophe as a possessive, and a desert is full of sand while a dessert is full of fat and sugar), incorrect verb tense.
Aileen Erin conpletes her five part tale of Amihanna, who is half-Aunare and was trapped on Earth when Space Tech, the corporation that controls Earth, decided to kill all the Aunare still on Earth. Now she is On Destiny (paper from Ink Monster, LLC ) when she goes back to Earth with her her High King husband Lorne, to rescue old friends and somehow cause a revolution against Space Tech. Lot of romantic adventure, and fun.
This is a wonderful series, and being someone who doesn’t reach for much sci-fi, I’m shocked at how much I enjoyed this. I fell in loved with this cast of characters through their journey and struggles, which is a given with this author. This book wraps up everything nicely and I highly recommend these books to any lover of fiction, even if this is a genre you don’t usually take up.
Love love love Lorne and how his and ami's relationship had developed. Loved narration and character development. The Last 100 pages I skimmed though, all the "war" battle stuff. And then like the conclusion to her Alpha girl series, there wasn't much of a relationship romantic conclusion epilogue. Ends abruptlyish
I will admit this one was a bit slow in the beginning for me. It did pick up as they made their way to Earth. Lorne finally got to see Amihanna in a leading light although he fought it the whole way. The book brings together all the forces to a satisfying conclusion.
Literally the most juvenile, ill conceived military operation ever. No operations security, no plan, all hand to hand. Author fills space with rambling and repetition and mundane detail.
Thank goodness success was destined

This turned out to be one of my favorite series. I loved everything about ON DESTINY from front to back. I can not be happier with how things ended for Amihanna and Lorne. Wish their story wasn't over, but I am happy with the ending all the same.
I was in too deep and felt compelled to finish the series, but the language was more " young" than "adult". It was very repetitive and could have used some major edits. The story was just fine but I am happy to be done with it.
DNF. I really wanted to like this series but I just couldn’t get through it. The story was really intriguing with the first book but then the rest of the series I had to slog through to finish it. I couldn’t bring myself to finish this last book

On Destiny is the final installment in author Aileen Erin's Aunare Chronicles. The story revolves around two characters: Amihanna di Aetes, the new High Queen of Aunare and Lorne ni Taure, the High King of the Aunare. It has been 3 weeks since Ami nearly died after being exposed to a bio-weapon created by SpaceTech. Ami is still mourning the loss of her guards who sacrificed themselves to save her. But time moves on, and so doesn't the threat from SpaceTech.
