No, it’s not my virginity. I’m still clinging tightly to that because…well, there’s only one man I want to help me lose that.
It just so happens that same man found my journal in the elevator last night after I accidentally dropped it.
I’ve carted that leather-bound journal around Manhattan with me since I moved here a year ago.
It holds my most private thoughts, including the fact that I want Dr. Matthew Hawthorne to take my virginity. He’s the perfect candidate for the job.
He’s older, wiser, ridiculously gorgeous, and his body looks like it was carved out of stone. Did I mention he has tattoos?
I’ve watched him through the peephole in my door for the past twelve months, and I admit I stared when I saw him on campus visiting one of my professors last week.
Before today, he didn’t know my name.
Now, my innermost secrets are his to read.
It’s only a matter of time before he realizes that the pre-med student living across the hall from him wishes he would take her V-card.
Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.
She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.
very quick, cute easy read. i was looking for something light and fluffy and this was perfect for that. extra points because this was a lot more steamier that book 1
The Blush Factor is book #2 of The Hawthornes of New York by Deborah Bladon. This is a feel-good contemporary romance with plenty of steam and can be read as a standalone. In this story we meet Faith Upton and Matthew Hawthorne. If you've read He Loves Me Not, then you'll know that Matt is Roman's twin brother. Faith and Matthew live in the same building. Faith is a kind, caring free-spirit young woman who is a little shy and lacks experience in the bedroom. At 21 years old, she is studying medicine at NYU in hopes of becoming a doctor. Faith has a crush on her neighbor Matt, who is older than her and barely notices her when they share an elevator. Every day she puts an entry in her journal about how she got a brief glimpse of him and what she'd like him to do to her. What happens when she accidentally loses her journal only to have it returned by none other than her crush, Dr Hawthorne, the man who stars in all of her journal entries? Matt Hawthorne works as a vet. He studied long and hard to get where he is and even though he has dated here and there, he's never had the urge for marriage as he thinks his career and family are enough to sustain him. Upon finding a diary in the elevator, his intentions are to return it asap. Imagine his surprise when he finds his name starring in his neighbor's most intimate fantasies. After returning the diary, he can't get the beautiful Faith or her words off his mind. He's beginning to feel things he's never felt before and finds himself wanting to spend more time with her. Finding excuses to see her, he starts feeling guilty as being older, he feels as though she should be with someone closer to her age. Will Matt swallow his pride and allow himself to have the same kind of love his brother has or will he push Faith away? This was a great age gap story with plenty of steam. Faith and Matt had great chemistry and I enjoyed how kind, caring and patient both these characters were.
The Blush Factor (The Hawthornes of New York Book 2)
She had a diary, keeping track of what was happening with her life since she was a teenager. She was the oldest virgin alive, that was her thinking. She had a crush on her neighbor who lived across from her. She was a college student to become a doctor. He was Matthew the Veterinary. She forgot her diary on the elevator. It knowing it was gone. Roman, Matthews brother found it and thought it was Faiths diary. Matthew ended up reading it and found that she had the hots for him! He returned the diary to Faith and become her friend. Their friendship continued to grow and they became lover. He was her first. I can' remember when I have enjoyed such a exciting story as this one. Everyday there was something new, the chemistry of them . A simple blush Factor a must read!! The author has out done herself on this book! DELICIOUS!!
Another amazing read by Deborah! Blush is a very sweet love story no drama its a feel good book.
Dr. Matthew Hawthorne is very tired of being set up with one disaster after another. All of the woman in his life want him married but Matthew knows when its right it will happen, there is no rushing it.
Faith Upton is a premed student at NYU, she is probably the oldest virgin in Manhattan at 21 but she is in no rush. Faith has a big crush on the very handsome Dr. Hawthorne who lives across the hall from her in fact he stars in her diary almost daily.
Faith is in a panic when she finds out that she dropped her diary in the elevator and guess who picks it up.......how is she going to face him if he reads it?
I enjoyed this book a little bit more than the first one but I did have a few issues.
First I liked both characters. Mathew was a kind loving man who would do anything for the people he loved. Especially his family. Faith was determined to be a doctor and studied hard but she was just a genuinely nice person. I liked them when the got together but they were both thinking love very fast.
I would have like an actual chapter of Mathew reading Faiths diary. He finds it then hands it back the next day. He read a few pages but we don’t see that and I would have liked to.
Again the steamy scenes weren’t very steamy but we got a little more than the first.
Overall I liked this book. There are 2 more hawthornes but no books and this was released 2 years ago so I’m kinda sad about that
I always look forward to Deborah Bladon's books & she definitely outdid herself with this one! We already know Matthew from a previous book & Faith lives across the hall from him. He's a veterinarian & she's a premed student. No spoilers here but we get to meet characters from the Author's previous books as their relationship evolves. If you're a fan like me you won't be disappointed with this one! As always looking forward to reading more from Deborah Bladon!
This was cute. I haven’t read anything by Deborah Blandon in a while, so this hit the spot. I liked Matthew. He was a great uncle, good person, and would do anything for Faith. I also liked Faith. She was very driven and sweet. There was just something that didn’t click for me with this couple. I guess I didn’t understand their love. Faith is kind of infatuated with Matthew and Matthew reads her diary and all of a sudden wants her and is in love with her?! I needed more than that. I still had fun with the story and it’s a great palate cleanser.
Another incredibly sweet, dirty-dirty one sitting read!
So...... Deborah's becoming my go-to/one-click purchase when I need a quick hit of heat and romance........and she doesn't disappoint in this age gap/ virgin and almost manwhore combo. You'll tear up the pages in this sweetly dirty little number. Don't expect too much angst though; there's just enough to get these two souls together. You'll enjoy every minute of this incredibly quick read!
I have great expectations every time I read a DB book and I am never disappointed. Her characters are so real, and her stories always end with good feels. It may be that her stories are sometimes complicated, and you believe they can't have an ending you like, she brings it home and when you read the last chapter, you are so very glad you read the book. I always anticipate her next work.
I have read all Deborah’s books and have been a huge fan for years but sadly this one was dreadful. The whole older man/younger girl has been done before and we know it happens in reality but this story was just a bit creepy; him reading her diary, and I think as the author mentions the age gap continuously it did become an issue. It was all a bit cringeworthy and is definitely her worst book to date!
Awww Matthew finally found his perfect match! She just needed time to grow up a little bit more 😂. Faith is amazing and exactly who Matt needed.
Faith is pursuing becoming a doctor in the er and starts falling for her neighbor. In the process she discovers exactly what type of doctor she wants to be and saves two lives in the process. Matthew finally gives in to what his soul and heart have been telling him.
This is twin Matthew Hawthorne's story. This was a lighter read..nothing really heavy. Cute story of Faith Upton writing faithfully in her diary how she's like neighbor Matthew to take her virginity. Said diary accidentally falls into his hands, which of course he reads.
Reading this book made me wish I could go back and wait for the right man before losing my virginity! Faith and Matt were the sweetest and hottest couple I've read about in a long time and I never stop reading. My only wish is that it was a little longer so I could bathe in their love story for longer!
Deborah Bladon you did again all your books are amazing but Faith and Matthew's love story is beyond amazing absolutely loved it I laughed and cried through their story knowing how they loved family and school and careers and the diary so sweet!! A must read for all!! Beautiful!!!
I just finished this book, and ill have to say, Deborah, you've done it again! Such a cute story. I laughed, I cried, and sometimes both! Just what I needed today! The characters are lovable, and believable, and I love checking in with past couples to see how they're doing! Its a wonderful community you've built!
I'd love to enjoy it the first all over again! These two characters stole my heart very quickly into the story. I loved the age difference, her naivety and his confidence. I lost sleep two nights this week when I just hated to put it down. 5 stars all the way!
The Blush Factor (The Hawthornes of New York book 2)
Matt Hawthorne has a secret admirer. It’s his neighbor Faith Upton a college student at NYU. She has been watching him from her apartment across the hall from his. What she fantasizes is written in her diary. Read to see what there.
Deborah Blandon continues to write sweet and sexy modern day love stories. Dr Matthew Hawthorne is the main character in a dairy written by his young virginal neighbor. When he accidentally discovers the dairy he takes it upon himself to make sure her fantasies of him become a reality.
Aww Matthew and Faith were adorable. Matthew was a veterinarian. Faith was a student in premed. Matthew was her neighbor across the hall, who stared in her secret fantasies. Of course only Dear Diary knew that until Matt found her Diary on the floor of the elevator. Of course he read every page. Lol Great story
So, so hot! This was a scorcher. Great dirty talk. Faith writes her dirty virgin thoughts about her next-door neighbor, Matt, in her diary. He finds it...and reads it. This story is so sweet. I loved both of the main characters. She is super smart, sweet, and open. Matt is protective, dirty, and willing to love. I have to add Deborah Bladon's backlog to my tbr!
It all started by a MIA diary belonging to a young woman named Faith. It was found by her gorgeous across the hall neighbor, Matt. Matt didn't return it right away. He had to read it first. He was surprised Faith knew he was and what she wanted from him. First, he had a diary to return.
I can never understand the hyper fixation of romance authors with coupling the virginal heroine and the trashy hero who has hundred plus body count. Do they get a kick out of tainting and torturing an innocent, naive and borderline foolish woman? Where is the self respect?
I really enjoyed this book. It is a simple tale of older man meets younger virginal girl. The plot is clever and I adore the cheeky twins. I really hope we get to hear Matt’s siblings stories as I felt the start of one story beginning near the end of the book
If you're looking for a fun corgi book to read this is it. Great characters, Super romantic, and human as. Sit down with it couldn't put it down till I finished it I'm looking forward to more her books.
Matthew and Faith live across the hall from each other and finally meet after she drops her diary in the elevator. Guess who finds it and determined he's the star of her thoughts and dreams? Loved this book!
Really sweet love story, just goes to show age doesn't mean anything. The sweet , pretty premed student falls for her veterinarian neighbor. The diary is the catalyst that makes him see her and that's when the sparks fly.
Loved the plot of this and the story. It was fun, light, romantic, sweet, and heartwarming. Characters are real and so charming. Loved the kids and their banter. Doc is a really good guy!
I really enjoyed this book, it’s well written with such detail and emotion. I love the storyline, with the twists and the miscommunication. Love Dora and Georgie, they are adorable and crack me up with the things they say. Overall a great book.
