I can't wait to see what happens in part three. I don't really understand why they are not all in one novel though.

In the second book of the Cannon Beach series, Maggie and LeAnne are now in Cannon Beach. After the luxurious private plane ride and upgraded rental car, the girls have arrived at the mansion on the bluff. We later learn it is referred to as the Riley House. Naturally, exploration ensues, and surprises are found.

I am enjoying this series and its cast of characters and trying hard not to give anything away, as discovery is part of the magic. I am patiently waiting for the next book to see what happens next.

Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

“It was just here. It’s almost like this house was made for you or something.”

Maggie and LeAnne have taken Mrs Walker up on her offer to get them to the house in Cannon Beach that's been left to her, and she and Lee have settled in to a ginormous mansion on the bluff and begin to explore it and the village around it. And with that, the neighborhood as they have a house issue. And when the neighbor finds out who she is, it opens the door to the next in the series...

It's hard to not drop spoilers in a Grace Meyers novel. The taught, splendid writing keeps you reading until the end and searching for the next one for the answers. Highly Recommended 5/5

Book 2 continues & gets much better as it we get into this book. It continued with the surprise other will after 1 year & of all things on the anniversary of his death! Question, why did his mother wait a whole year. I assume she was trying to come up with a way to discredit her from the ownership of the mansion, but since it was in Maggie's name; I'm guessing her shred lawyers couldn't come up with a way so she had no other way but to call Maggie & tell her about property & the ring that she gave to James's sister, which his grandmother left to him. Then the Mother arranges for Maggie & her friend Leanne that had showed up to be wisked away immediately by a next door neighbor pilot to see the property that James owns because she wants Maggie to sell it to her right away!! What's with all the mystery? When Maggie gets to the house she finds all kinds of strange & unusual things. All the things from previous owner were left there and it is like no one has been there in many years. Then in the middle of the night Leanne gets up to go to bathroom and the water springs a leak & they can't get it to stop & they have no cell service! So Maggie jumps in her car & goes for help in the middle of the night! Scary! Now what! This is getting interesting! Can't wait! What has her Mother-in-law lead her into??? What's going to happen next??

I was given this book for free and I have freely given an honest opinion of this book. Can't wait for the next one!!

Maggie is confused by her husband's will that states he left a house to her in Cannon Beach, but before she can sale it, she must go and see the house. So after a strange but eye-opening visit with her Mother-in-Law, she flies to Cannon Beach with her best friend, Leanne, on a private jet supplied by her Mother-in-Law. Maggie is amazed by the size of the house which is actually a mansion, on the beach and on 40 acres. Leanne and Maggie search the house for other possible clues as to why her husband never told her about this house or about Cannon Beach or about the fact that he spent his summers as a child in this very house! What other secrets will Maggie find? Leanne discovers a plumbing issue in the middle of the night which leads to Maggie hurriedly going to her handsome neighbor’s house, Will, for help. When Will finds out Maggie’s husband’s name, he tells her another secret her husband was keeping from her! Will she keep or sale the mansion? Maggie and Leanne finally arrive at the house in Cannon Beach and it’s way more than they expected. Due to plumbing issues in the bathroom, Maggie meets her handsome neighbor, Will. She learns that Will and James had been best friends. Will he be able to answer any of her questions or will she have to always wonder about the secrets James kept from her. Will Maggie decide to stay in Cannon Beach? I also wonder what’s going to happen with Leanne and Henry. I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens.

Kept me gripped as Maggie and her friend Leanne travel and spend time in the beach house that Maggie’s late husband James had secretly bought. We find out about the local area and at the end meet two locals with one being a possible interest…but we’ll have to wait and see in the subsequent book! If you don’t like cliffhangers then this isn’t the book for you but once the series is out, it will be easy to find all the answers in swift succession …I’m away to read Book 3 to find out some answers!!

I received this as Advanced Reader Copy - thank you to the author for letting me read and review this book….recommend it!

This such a good read. I love the characters. Maggie and her unrest of her husband’s will leaving her a beautiful mansion that she was unaware that he owned. Her wonderful friend Leanne that is pushing her towards a better life. Then there is that handsome hunk of a neighbor that had been her deceased husbands best friend in younger days. The romance is heating between Maggie and William. What is up with the secret society that no one really wishes to talk about. Then her ex in-laws and their desire to purchase the beautiful mansion. Many twists and turns. This is probably the best series by Grace Meyers to date. And I’ve loved each of her previous. Must read.

Maggie has learned that James bought a beach house that his family used to vacation at. He never mentioned it or the town to Maggie and she is stunned. Agreeing to at least see the house before selling it, she and Leanne travel in style to check it out. Maggie is drawn to the house in ways she can't explain. When a household emergency brings the neighbor over she learns even more. Well! What will he have to say about things? Can't wait to learn more!

The property turns out to be filled with items from the former owner Including fur coats, bird cages, and an extensive wine collection.

Book 2 left me fascinated by the house that Maggie's husband had bought without telling her.  It was interesting to learn the house was full of the previous owner's belongings which made me wonder why James had not cleaned it out.  I like the next door neighbor, especially since he had been a friend of James.  I liked that this book left me with a lot of questions, very few answers, and I cannot wait to see where this story goes and to find out more about the Haystack Society.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Maggie is shocked to learn James had bought the families summer vacation home and left it to her! She wanted nothing to do with it until her friend, Leanne, who has come to visit to escape a cheating husband, convinces her to honor James wishes that she see the property before making any decisions about keeping or selling. The property is so much more than she could every had expected, including a handsome neighbor who had been James' best friend!

Maggie and Leeann fly in a private jet to Cannon Beach, Oregon. They are awestruck when they see the house. One night something happened to the plumbing and the toilet overflowed. Maggie goes for help and meets Will. Loved the byplay between the two best friends. It has you laughing in places. It’s a short read, but once you start it you can’t put it down. Very enjoyable book.

A Interesting Book Of Secrets!

This book was exciting having got a message to come to her late husbands mother to find out about a will a year later and finding out secrets he had that she his wife didn't know anything about like a mansion on Cannon Beach. Maggie and her friend go to find out the mystery about the house and a secret society. A good book to read I'm looking forward to finding more about it.

After book 1 in the series, I was eager to find out what would happen. I loved being back at the beach house and the scenery, writing and secrets wowed me all over again.

I don't want to use spoilers but this continuation of book 1 hooked me as much as the first.

Thanks to Grace Meyers for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

5 stars.

I am so looking forward to book 3.

The Summer Escape book 2

This was a nice episode in the progress of Cannon Beach mystery. Maggie and LeAnn were getting ready for bed. LeAnn flushed the toilet and water just kept on flowing. Maggie ran next door which was actually done the road a piece. His name was William and he called his friend who was a plumber. Waiting for the next episode.

Finished book 2 in the Summer Escape. This is getting very interesting. Maggie's neighbor was once James's best friend. So the plot thickens. What can he tell Maggie about James that she doesn't know. It seems that there is a lot about her late husband she doesn't know. Onto book 3 to see what develops.

Aggravating

Once again I dislike the one story being divided into several books! Maybe a complete story line and another book using the same characters would not be so aggravating!
I hope to never read another !

Not a whole book, disappointing

Unfortunately this book is more like a short story. Right about the time it was getting interesting, it stopped and requires purchase to read more. Really don’t like ‘books’ t,hat do this.
