His mission? A leisurely, first-class train ride through the Canadian Rockies escorting a doctor who was afraid of flying.
Easy. Relaxing. And if the doctor is a beautiful, funny, kind-hearted woman that makes him wish for a future he thought had been buried with his last Special Forces mission, what can go wrong?
Plenty. Illegal weapons smuggler. Nefarious businessmen. An explosion that knocks the train off the tracks. An escape into the Canadian forest. And the doctor with a medical condition and not enough medication.
Bray will need to use all his skills and help from fellow Keepers to turn this mission gone wrong into a success… after all, both their lives, and their hearts depend on it.
Lighthouse Security Investigations The security and investigation company is filled with handpicked men and women from the SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces, Deltas, and Air Force Special Ops. All trained in CIA Special Operations, the Keepers were the best of the best and ready to take on any mission.
Scenes and language similar to an R-rated movie. 18+ readers only.
As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with. I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
Love, love, love this story!! Bray is a standalone story in the Lighthouse Security Series. Allen Bray is the last single LSI “Keeper” and planning to stay that way.
“…he wasn’t seeking a life partner. He liked his freedom. He liked going where he wanted when he wanted.”
When he is sent to protect Dr. Marie Brighton, Bray is expecting an easy week aboard a luxury train crossing Canada from Vancouver to Montreal.
“It’s like we’re on the Orient Express. But then, we’d better hope no one gets murdered.”
Marie is an amazing heroine. She isn’t thrilled that her overprotective brother arranged security for her trip, but negotiates a truce so they both can enjoy the travels.
“Bray not only ticked every box, he surpassed in boxes she never imagined.”
This story is loaded with action, adventure and danger along with descriptions of gorgeous vistas and a developing love story that catches both parties quite off guard. -5 Stars-
Bray is one of the few single Keepers left in the group. He is okay with that until he receives his next mission. His birthday is coming up and he hasn't really taken a vacation in a while. His mission is to escort a Dr. on a luxury train ride through the Canadian Rockies. She is a bit reluctant to let her family, namely her brother bully her into taking a bodyguard with her. She gives her brother a list of demands for said bodyguard thinking that her brother couldn't possibly find someone. Well, he did and now Marie has to battle her growing feelings for him while fate throws curve balls at the couple.
I loved this book. Bray and Marie have an attraction from the begging. She is an amazing character who doesn't let her family push her around. She had a horrific accident in her teens and that helps shape her into the doctor she is today. Ms. Jordan brings these two together to help them heal in a way. They have both been through traumatic experiences that have helped them understand each other in a way few can. I love how Ms. Jordan always weaves quotes through her stories because they are poignant and absolutely perfect for the story and the characters. Storytelling at its best.
Love coming back to the Keepers Marie has overcome a lot in her life, a helicopter crash that shattered her leg and ankle and now is dealing with Hyperthyroidism though none of this stopped her getting her doctorate in Physiotherapy. Before starting her new job in Boston she has a train trip across Canada. When Marie’s over protective brother insists she has security during this trip he calls the Keepers. Bray gets the job because of his medic history. What starts out as a simple job turns into so much more. This story has everything, adventure, attractions and a little suspense. Maryann Jordan gives you so much in her stories but I love the little things, the little quotes, the great characters and of course the stories.
Babe - I loved it! I received a free, advance copy of Bray by Maryann Jordan. Alan Bray, or Bray, of Lighthouse Investigations is charged with keeping Marie Brighton safe as she takes a luxury train trip from Vancouver to Toronto. Marie was in a serious helicopter crash when she was a teen and badly injured her leg. Because of that accident, Marie doesn't fly. Marie is not on board with having a body guard at all. She finally agrees with Bray being a travel companion on the trip. The book moves into a slow build of their friendship as they and their fellow travelers journey through the Canadian Rockies. It reminded me of a Gordon Lightfoot song, Canadian Railroad Trilogy, which is a history of Canadian railroads. The speed of the song builds as it goes along. The book also builds as it goes along until all of a sudden it takes off like a rocket. I absolutely couldn't put it down. I had a hard time finding a point where I could stop for a break. The suspense was fantastic. I'm Canadian and loved that it was set, in large part, in Canada. I usually can figure out the endings before I get there, but this book wasn't so easy, it absolutely held me guessing until the very end. I hope you give the book a try and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Another winner! Absolutely incredible story, one filled with adventure and mystery that had you guessing right until the end! The way Maryann wrote this I could see it clearly in my mind… the description of the Canadian Rockies, the train and the carriages, it was so clear in my mind! Loved Marie, her strength of character as we discover what she has endured in her past and then how she deals with the unexpected! The way the relationship with Bray developed and how they supported each other and respect shown each other is endearing. I also loved seeing the other keepers again and of course the snippets for josh! Bray is one my favourite keepers! Thank you for the ARC , this is a true and honest review 💕

This is book ten in The Lighthouse Security Investigations Series and it is Bray and Marie's story and omg it is an emotional and must read. Marie is a doctor and she is now taking a train to Montreal before driving to Boston for a new job but first she is attending a week long conference in Vancouver. Bray used to be a medic in the special force's and he now works for Lighthouse Security which is owned by Mace and Bray loves his job and the people that he works with as they have become family and today they surprised him with a early birthday surprise as he had a new mission and he would be away for his official birthday. Bray was travelling with Marie to make sure that her medical condition was kept under control and also keep her safe but Marie was a little bit stubborn and Bray didn't know what sort of reception he would get when they meet. Danger is all around them but they don't know who the person is or why but will they manage to survive and get out alive only time will tell. The chemistry between Bray and Marie was so strong but will be give in to his feelings that they both have for each other and compromise the mission or will they wait until they are safe and see if they have a chance of being together and having a happy ending. Bray and Marie had a really strong connection between them and I absolutely loved how well they fit together and found myself hoping that everything would turn out for them after everything that they have both been through. this story took you in right from the start and kept your attention right until the last one and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and it kept you on the edge of your seat. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and she has so much depth to her stories and they always keep your attention while reading them and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this book Book
This is book 10 in the Lighthouse Security Investigations series but it can absolutely be read as a standalone! In this one we get Bray and Marie's story. Bray has been sent to guard Dr. Marie Brighton on her train trip through Canada. He thinks it's going to be an easy job traveling on a luxury train for a week while making sure nothing happens to Marie. He hasn't taken a vacation for a long time and the trip coincides with his birthday, so it seems perfect. Marie thinks her family, especially her brother, are being overprotective by sending a bodyguard to protect her. There isn't a real threat to her, just them worrying. But when she meet's Bray, she finds that not only is he someone who can protect her-he is someone she truly likes. But when the worst happens, not only does Bray have to keep her safe but he has to make sure she stays healthy and doesn't succumb to her demons due to her past.
I absolutely loved this story! Bray is this protective man at heart, like all the keeper's, but he also is truly caring about other people. He isn't afraid to admit when he is wrong nor is he afraid to do the right thing-even when he knows he shouldn't. And I loved that about him! Marie has been through a lot in her life, more than most people would ever dream of. But she not only manages to overcome it all but she built a life that is spent helping the people who truly need it. I loved how she took something that could have broken her and turned it into her life's work!! These two together, they were beautiful. Not only do they have an attraction to each other but they genuinely like each other. I loved that they had the chance to truly get to know each other rather than just jumping into bed together! I loved everything about this story! Of course now I have to impatiently wait for the next one!!
Dr. Marie Brighton suffered injuries, physical and mental, in a helicopter crash as a teen. Her father, an up and coming politician, always felt guilty as she was returning home after a rally when the crash occurred. Since then, Marie’s brother and father have been overly protective of Marie. With her new diagnosis of hypothyroidism, the protectiveness increased. Marie’s a successful doctor who enjoys working with children who have injuries suffered during various activities, accidents. Marie works not only to physically rehabilitate a patient, but to help them mentally as well. When the opportunity arises to attend a conference, then go on a “bucket-list” trip, Marie jumps at the chance. She’s to start a new job in a few weeks and wants to relax. Her brother is not sold on Marie traveling alone—without protection. So, he hires Lighthouse Security services. Marie will only agree to a bodyguard if he’s “hot, built”. When Bray arrives to provide security, Marie thinks her brother is playing a joke on her as Bray checks off all her requested requirements….
When Bray receives his latest assignment, he thinks…this will be easy. He even thought of it as a mini-vacation through the Canadian Rockies. He was so wrong! Marie is the opposite of what Bray imagined her to be. She’s strong, smart, beautiful, brave, and very capable. Although Bray wasn’t looking for forever, Marie might just be the forever he didn’t think he needed. If only he can keep them alive…
I have to say….one of my FAVORITE novels in this series! I absolutely loved all of the suspense, dodging bullets, sleeping under the stars, the train ride—before the explosion! The twists in the end…whew! I can’t recommend this novel enough! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
‘The Lighthouse SI Keepers were men and women from the SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces, Deltas, and AF Special Ops. All having been trained in CIA Special Ops, the Keepers were the best of the best and ready to take on any mission.’
Bray is the tenth book in the Lighthouse Security Investigations series by Maryann Jordan. This collection is a thrilling blend of romantic suspense, military action, and heartfelt human connection. Each book follows a member of the elite “Keepers” who are former SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces (and other top-tier operatives) who now work for Lighthouse Security, a private agency dedicated to protecting lives and uncovering the truth. There is a great balance between high-stakes action and the (deep) emotional arcs. The missions are intense, with well-paced suspense and clever twists - but the real heart of each story lies in the relationships, and not just the romance between leads, but also the camaraderie among the team. The settings are vivid, from coastal safehouses to international danger zones, and the author’s attention to tactical detail adds realism without bogging down the storyline/pace. Each book can be read as a standalone - but in saying that, reading them in consecutive order will reward you with a richer understanding of the team’s (evolving) dynamics. If you enjoy protective heroes, resilient heroines, and a mix of danger, loyalty, and love - then this series delivers consistently satisfying reads. Happy Reading…
Bray is the latest in the Lighthouse series and WOW, just WOW! I love Maryann Jordan stories, she never disappoints and this story is a step above even her usual greatness! I have always loved her writing, most especially her characters, but for the first time in a long time it is the story plot that was a hit for me. The characters were awesome for sure, but several times I found myself gasping in shock at the story! This story has it all: great characters, romance, suspense and thrills, great imagery and of course cameos from old favorites! This is NOT to be missed!
Bray is hired to be a traveling companion for Marie. She doesn’t want him there and makes no bones about it but ends up relenting and they become friends who have an attraction to one another. It is a slow build toward romance that is completely believable. I found myself rooting for them the entire time and kinda wishing things would move along a bit quicker but their journey was very organic to them. When they finally come together it is believable, sweet and hawt! The imagery from the trip on the train drew me in as well. I am a warm weather beach lovin gal and I found myself thinking about snow covered mountains and thinking that a trip like that would be nice! 😳
Do not miss this one! You will fall for Bray just like Marie did and you will find yourself rooting for them right from the start but you will keep turning the page because the story is just that good! Excellent job Maryann! ❤️
Bray is the excellent latest story in the Lighthouse Security Investigation series by the wonderful Marianne Jordan. I love this series, it never disappoints and this latest book put a big smile on my face with some Murder on the Orient Express overtones. LSI Keeper Allan Bray is tasked with accompanying Dr Marie Brighton on a cross country luxury train journey through Canada as her security, easy right - a simple straightforward, relaxing gig or so Bray thinks apart from the fact that Marie doesn’t want anybody watching over her. Set against the beautiful Canadian scenery the pair become friends, theirs is a slow build romance starting as friends and building as the plot thickens.
Packed with mystery and suspense, there is an edge of anticipation keeping you in enthralled as the action unfolds. Bray and Marie are wonderful characters, Marie has the strength of character to endure and live with injury, pain and illness and still keep living life on her terms, she is an all-round class act. Bray has his own demons but is a protector to his core, now doing a job he absolutely loves. Ok to sum up - I love the action, I love the plot, I love the romance, I love the characters, I love the mystery (basically everything) and I wholeheartedly recommend you read the story and hopefully you too will enjoy it as much as I did. Definite 5* read. I received an arc from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Bray and Marie meet when LSI is hired to protect Marie (by Marie's super protective FBI brother) on a train journey through Canada. It's supposed to be an "easy" mission for Bray. Never say easy! Marie has chosen to take the train traveling from Vancouver BC to Boston where she will work as a pediatric physical therapist. Due to a past trauma, she does not like flying. She told her brother she would only have a protective detail if the security guy is tall, handsome and takes her breath away like in the movies. In comes Bray and off they go on a Canadian train journey where the train goes off rails and Bray and Marie are on the run! What I absolutely loved about the book is how the authors description of what Marie and Bray see of the Canadian landscape comes alive. The waterfalls, the nature and the bridges make me want to take that same journey. I love the description of the historic train as well as the wonderful food Marie and Bray have! This all adds to the love story of Marie and Bray! However, Bray and the LSI Keepers need to solve the mystery of the train derailment and why. There are great twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat! What a fantastic page turner. I highly recommend this amazing romantic suspenseful story!
Maryann always writes stories that draw you in the perfect mix of suspense drama and sizzling romance but it this latest offering in the Lighthouse Security saga she has definitely taken it up a notch There is so much going on and the tension builds so dramatically that it had me reading until the early hours of the morning because I just couldn't put it down
Marie is fed up of her over protective family she she mat have recently been diagnosed with a thyroid condition but that didn't mean she couldn't still live her life Through in the fact that her brother had enemies form his work he is super protective of her A helicopter crash in her youth means that under no circumstances will she fly so a leisurely train trip is what she decides on. When her brother wants her to have a bodyguard she sets a set of parameters she thinks no one will be able to achieve meaning she won't get a bodyguard little does she know that Allan Bray from Lighthouse Security not only will tick all the boxes but will also worm his way into her heart. But with danger closing in it will take the help of his entire team to keep her safe when the worst happens and be prepared for one massive twist that you never saw coming
Another keeper in the Lighthouse series with Bray, finally getting his story. When he is asked to be security for the sister of one of Mace’s friend, he is happy to accompany Marie, a doctor, on a first class train ride through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Marie is used to her big brother’s protective ways and when he decides to hire personal security, she gets the last word in when requests a hunk of a man that will turn her head. Little did she know that her request will come true in the form of Bray. Their easy companionship during their trip is highlighted by the sights and their conversations….until an explosion and derailment has them fighting to survive in the mountains and their enemy is not just the wild mountains. An amazing read with a slow build up that explodes between these two, with steam, suspense, surprises and twists and turns. I LOVED these two, especially Marie, down to earth, no drama and perfect for Bray. Bray was amazing, easy going, protective, and didn’t shy away from his feelings. The story flowed beautifully and the descriptions were spot on, making me want to take a first class train ride through the mountains….another keeper in this series. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I’m a fairly new Maryann Jordan reader but I’m so delighted that I’ve found her and I’ve got so many books to look forward to reading. This is the second of the lighthouse series books that I’ve read and boy was it good. Marie is travelling to her new job in Boston by way of the railway via Canadian Rockies, combining necessity to travel and the holiday of a lifetime. Her brother insists that she had security, meet Bray her security for the journey. You know from the very beginning of the book that something is going to happen, you just don’t know what or when. I absolutely loved this book. The story just builds and builds, their mutual attraction builds along with the story. My heart is pounding wondering what’s going to happen, who is the real baddie? When the action kicks in, it becomes an all out rollercoaster and I’m hanging on for dear life, loving every minute of the ride. This is a fabulous book. I love this series and I’m delighted to add such a talented writer to my list of one clicks when the preorder is available. I received this book from the Author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
We are back with the Keepers of the Lighthouse Security Investigations. A company made up of men and women all who once were elite warriors and whose goal is to keep safe those assigned to them. Allan Bray, a former Green Beret, is one of these men. When he’s assigned to be a bodyguard of the sister of an FBI agent, he never suspected that what seemed like a wonderful train trip through the Canadian Rockies, would end up being more than that. Not only danger and murder occurs on the trip, but he finds that his heart has been taken by the beautiful woman he’s protecting, Dr. Marie Brighton. In this action packed story filled with beautiful descriptions of the Canadian Rockies, we have well develop characters, a plot that at times has the reader on the edge of the seat, bad guys, hunky good ones , and of course, romance. Once again this talented author delivers another winner in this already much loved series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Another wonderful book from Maryann Jordan. Allen Bray is the last single keeper at Lighthouse Security and is not looking to find anyone. Dr. Marie Brighton has overcome a lot in life starting with a helicopter crash when she was a teen that leaves her with a limp and a fear of flying. She is now dealing with hyperthyroidism and has accepted a new job in Boston. She has planned a luxury vacation on a railcar thru the Canadian Rockies. Her brother who is a higher up in the FBI wants her to have a bodyguard due to her testifying against a local level mobster who abused his child. She is very independent and does not want one but to appease her brother she gives him a long list of requirements that she believes he will not be able to find someone who meets them. Enter Bray who is a match. What follows is an adventure thru the Rockies with lots of suspense, determination and romance. I loved both characters and really loved the story. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.
Marie is a doctor of physiotherapy ( didn’t know they existed so interesting!)who is terrified of flying following a helicopter crash as a teenager that ultimately led to her choice of career. She needs to get from the west coast of Canada to Boston USA and decides to take a luxury train crossing. Her ex forces brother feels she needs security because she was a witness against a minor mobster and he asks Lighthouse security to help. Bray is assigned because he is a medic ( Marie also has thyroiditis) plus it’s his birthday. The train trip is beautifully described and made it sound very enticing however not all the other travellers are quite who they seem and suddenly Marie and Bray find themselves stuck in the wilderness after their train is bombed . They escape but are being followed and nothing is ever straightforward in a Maryann Jordan story. This book is full of excitement, suspense and romance. I loved it, another excellent book in the lighthouse security series.

"Whatever good or bad fortune may come our way, we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value." ~ Hermann Hesse (Quoted by Maryann in "Bray.")
This quote fits both Allan Bray and Dr. Marie Brighton beautifully. In this adventure, Allan Bray is tasked with escorting Dr. Marie Brighton from Vancouver to Boston on a luxurious train ride through the Canadian Rockies. Sounds easy right? Maybe not. Through adventures in the wild and working to develop a relationship, both Bray and Marie are called on to reach deep inside and find more strength. They learn that they become stronger by being together.
The twists and turns in this story will keep you on your toes. I enjoyed matching wits with Maryann (and will confess that I was caught by surprise at the end).
It’s always cause for celebration when a new LSI book is released, and Bray ticks every box and a few more. This book has the added bonus (for me) of the setting – Bray and Marie, his latest protectee, are traveling by luxury train through the Canadian Rockies, something that’s high on my personal bucket list, so I sat down expecting to revel in the scenery. And wow – I did that, but the drama happens earlier than I expected, it’s not what I expected, and I was on tenterhooks till the end of this book. Marie is a vintage Maryann Jordan character, and Bray, well, he’s dream material. I also enjoyed seeing them welcomed back by the other Keepers and their partners; there’s a true sense of family and support. I could have continued reading for pages and pages after that; I hate closing one of Maryann Jordan’s books. This really should be read in one sitting to do it justice, but that’s no hardship!
I received an ARC copy and am so glad I did! Bray is an ex-special forces security specialist and Marie is Dr Marie Brighton, a doctor in physical therapy. He has his own demons but is more than happy to help her tackle hers. She has lived through more pain than most people will ever experience and has an understandable fear of flying. He thinks this will be the "easiest job ever" - famous last words! I don't want to spoil the storyline for anyone so all I will say is that these two are perfect together. She shows how strong she is, despite being "babied" by her family for nearly her whole life. He is willing to help her find the inner strength she needs to be able to keep safe. Great book and series with strong men but even stronger women. Love the strength that these women have and that their men are men enough to allow them to flourish. Can't wait for the next one - now I have to re-read the series to keep me going until the next one is out :)
Bray Lighthouse Security Investigations Maryann Jordan
Marie has been through so much in her life that has made her stronger than her brother and parents want to believe. So when she decides to take the Canadian Rocky Mountain train from the west coast on her way to Boston, her FBI brother hires Lighthouse Security Investigations to protect her. She isn’t too happy, but decides Bray might be a good travel companion even though she feels that she doesn’t need protection. As she said, “it isn’t as if someone will be murdered.” Another great addition to the Lighthouse series of strong heroes and heroines. I feel Marie is one of the strongest heroines who has survived so much and overcomes even more. She and Bray are a perfect fit. Another action packed can’t put it down because you just have to know what happens so be prepared for a great late night read. I received an ARC for an honest review.
I have to say now much I love the Lighthouse Security Investigations series by Maryann Jordan, and Bray is just another amazing addition to that series. Allan Bray is hit up to be personal security for Dr. Marie Brighton on a first class train ride through the Canadian Rockies since she is terrified of flying. He’s thinking this will be the easiest assignment ever, yeah, sure, like that’s going to happen. First, she doesn’t want the bodyguard her brother, Cory, has arranged; but they actually form a friendship that begins to grow. Plus there is an interesting cast of characters that add mystery making you wonder what’s coming. And in the midst you learn of the reasons why Marie hates the fly, and her strength and depth, along with demons from Bray’s background. As always, Maryann doesn’t disappoint, Bray is a definite 5 star read.
I'm honored to have received an ARC of this wonderful book. As with all of the LSI Keepers, Bray meets his perfect match while on assignment.
Bray is hired to accompany Marie on a luxury train trip across Canada. The last thing Marie wanted was a paid bodyguard dampening her excitement of seeing the Canadian vistas as she makes her way across the country. What neither of them expected was the strong friendship they quickly formed or the instant chemistry between them. Nor did they expect to be victims of a horrible train crash and running for their lives in the wilderness.
This is absolutely another five star read from Maryann. If you haven't been introduced to the Keepers, I strongly recommend them. If you're a long term Keepers fan, you won't be disappointed in this latest story. Maryann Jordan is an incredible author with great talent in character and plot development.
Bray! What a story! Took me a little longer to read due to 2 jobs but, one thing that really stuck out that I never thought of and will always try to change my thanks in my daily dealing with my customers. When those who have been through so much loss and still live it every night in their dreams, we take it for granted and remind them of that loss, never knowing ourselves just how rough it was on them. Maryann Jordan I love how you bring out these points so gracefully for all servicemen and women.
"Thank you for being you." She wasn't surprised when he startled, and she rushed to add, "I know many servicemen and women don't want someone to thank them for their time in the military and their sacrifices. I know that Cory felt that way. So I'll thank you for being you and the choices you've made in your life."
It was supposed to be an easy, luxurious mission that turned into an unexpected adventure and the love of a lifetime. Bray hadn't taken a lot of down time since joining Lighthouse Security Investigations so he was looking forward to the train ride through the Canadian Rockies. A ride that was made even more pleasurable after meeting and clicking with Marie, the woman he was sent to protect. When a horrific event has them running for their lives, they find themselves growing closer in an effort to survive. The relationship that develops between them started long before the action which gave them a comfortable base to build off of. After the adventure is over, you find yourself rooting for the pair to come together again despite the long distance between them. Another great addition to the Keepers family.
This is the tenth book in the Lighthouse Security Investigation series and can be read as a standalone. It's Bray and Marie's story which is an absolutely amazing read. Marie survived a helicopter crash that shattered her leg and ankle when she was younger, but it didn't stop her from getting her PHD in physiotherapy even though she has hyperthyroidism to manage. Bray used to be a medic in the special forces and now works at Lighthouse Security Investigation. Marie is taking a train ride to Montreal before driving to Boston to start her new job, but her brother wants her to have a bodyguard with her. Bray ends up being the one to protect her and help her keep her condition under control. Of course they face some danger and have to navigate through it to stay alive. I absolutely loved this book! It has romance, action, suspense, and heartfelt emotions that had me turning the pages.
This was such a great story. It flowed really well and the story made sense. While you are reading this story you will want to book a train ride just to experience it the way the characters do. Bray and Marie are together on this trip because her brother has a bad feeling and wants Bray to basically be her bodyguard, which is not what she wants. The storyline is one that had me trying to figure out The who dun-nit and why which I like. I also like that while Marie does not want a guard she accepts it and shows her determination when it is called upon without whining. Along with getting a check in with the other Lighthouse characters it is a stand alone book that has a hea and feels complete. Maryann Jordan develops strong characters and does her research so the plot feels very true. I would highly recommend this book!
Another amazing addition to this series. I have loved evey book in the Lighthouse series and this one is no exception. I enjoyed that as always, this one has the intrigue and thriller aspect that has you feverishly turning the pages. Bray is assigned, as a favor to an FBI friend of Mace's to accompany his sister Marie on a scenic train ride through Canada. Seems easy enough right? Marie and Bray hit it off and obviously become more than just bodyguard and charge for sure. I loved them together! They were perfectly matched. I always love the background and details of Maryann's books becouse you really feel like you're there in the story. Her characters are written so well that you easily connect to them. Another great story which has be already wanting the next one! Enjoy!
Bray is tasked with protecting Marie, the sister of a friend of the boss. Everyone thought it’d be an easy gig and a chance for him to finally unwind. One train wreck, mountain survival and airlift later they both realise how lucky they are to be alive. During the excitement they both become closer and develop feelings for one another. Will these feelings survive being at home and the one last threat no one saw coming…..
At first I thought this was quite slow to start, I wondered when the story was really going to start. Once it got going it was good. I enjoyed the action scenes and how bray helped Marie with her fear of flying. His protective nature was endearing and I loved even after everything she’d been through she was still able to keep going.
