From 1940 to 1944, Paris, the grand old city, symbol of beauty, love, and liberty, struggled to maintain her true identity while under the thumb of the Nazis. During these trying times, Miriam Mazur, an up-and-coming Jewish fashion designer, and Mary Kelly, an Irish expatriate prostitute, continued to chase their dreams. Watch as they find friendship and love, suffer loss and heartache, and through it all refused to be bowed.ReviewThis novella is set in Paris during the Nazi occupation. I was captivated by the two main characters Miriam Mazur and Mary Kelly, who, each in their own way, were brave and proud and never gave up on their dreams. The way the author intertwines their lives moves the story along, and the details of Paris during that trying time brings the novel to life. It celebrates friendship, love, and the human spirit. L.C.
