Tavon returns with the second volume of Songs For Each Mood. In this thrilling collection, Tavon shares his perspective on various feelings and social constructs. Just like it's predecessor, Each poem is paired with the song Michael listened to while composing, creating an ambient vibe for the readers to experience while reading this collection.
While I could not relate to everything I still found Michael's words beautiful. I think Michael wrote amazing truths that he experienced as well as ones that many could relate to. I love that he provides a playlist for these songs as well! I am excited to read more of his work and look forward to future insights from an amazing voice in writing. I highlighted probably half of these poems so it is hard to pick my favorite, however I think it is this one:
"The harshest reality to come to terms with is realizing you're outgrowing your environment, friends, and loved ones. We hold these bonds so close because, in a way, they made us who we are, but there will come a time when you'll notice that things are no longer the same. The life you once knew will slowly drift away as you grow, and part of you will try so hard to hold on, but you can't save everything from your past. As heartbreaking as this may sound, everyone you know will not fit in with the path you chose. Accept this fact and never look back." (Page 38).
