The Gentlemen #2

Thieves' Honor

Rate this book
"Run, Rabbit, Run."

After weeks in the Esposito Hotel, I now know three things:

1. The Gentlemen are liars.

2. The Trilogy took my sister.

3. My father is insane.

I've been reminded of who I am and who my enemies are. Nico lied to me, and Beck and Rush backed him up.

I'm on my own again—the spare to the heir, with nothing to lose and no one I can trust. All I care about is finding Sophie, and getting the hell out of St. Adrian.

I'm ready to run.

But, with three brutal men willing to hunt me down, and the force of my father's whole army on my tail...wish me luck.

The clock is ticking...

Thieves' Honor is an enemies to lovers contemporary mafia romance where the female main character will end up with multiple love interests by the end of the series. All the characters are in their mid-twenties. There are dark themes and graphic violence, but no bullying or violence toward the main character. This is book two of three.

Woah, where do I even begin? I had to finish this in one sitting.... it was that good.
Thieves' Honor was wayyyy more intense than the first book. Every character in this book is perfect. Rae and her guys, Beck, Nico and Rush have spectacular chemistry. I loved reading about how everything was unravelling and being made known to the main players. I'm not going to lie, but I was really shocked about the identity of the Hatter.
THAT LAST CHAPTER THOUGH !!!!! I RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS JUST FOR THE LAST CHAPTER.
This series is hands down becoming one of my favourites, I can't wait to read book 3 next year..

Ok imma need a hot minute to recover from the ending of this book. The cliffhanger is book 1 was rough but this one has got me SHOOOOOK. Like wtaf. Need the third book like yesterday kinda feeling.

This book kicks right back off where book 1 finished and the steam, drama, secrets, betrayals and drama just intensified tenfold in this! I could not put it down.

Rae is such a badass. I love how she doesn’t let the guys boss her around, how she’s always willing to fight for those she cares about and how tough she is… but it just makes it even sweeter when she goes soft for her boys. It happens so rarely that it’s just the cutest.

Nico, Rush & Beck. What a bloody dream of a harem! Ones angry, ones caring & ones playful. They are the perfect balance together and they all bring so much to the table. I gotta be honest, Beck is my favourite. I’m a simp for a playful, happy go lucky character.. but when he goes psycho enforcer 🔥🔥🔥

This is gearing up to be an epic series and I cannot wait for the conclusion!

I AM NOT FREAKING OKAY. This damn book. I am honestly speechless right now. No amount of words can even allow me to express just how freaking upset, enraged & broken I am from the ending of this book. It’s one of the worst cliffhangers I think I’ve ever read & my heart is aching. I loved it, every single second except the last part (obviously). The continued plot is SO THICK with this one that you won’t see a lot of shit coming. I mean hot damn I wasn’t ready for any of it to be honest. Nico still pissed me off with his stubbornness, Beck is gold & don’t even get me going on Rush. If you haven’t started with book 1 then you’re late the party & you need to run!!

Yes the spice is taken up a notch with this one and there is a slight MMF scene. It is very brief & not discussed or addressed after the fact, just heads up.

This only received 2 stars from me because it’s totally unnecessary. It’s pretty much a repeat of everything that happened in Book 1, and everything that happens in Book 3. As I’ve said before, you can only read the same scene repeatedly before it loses its potency.

I wanted to both possess her and be possessed by her. Mutual symbiotic imprisonment.

We pick up with Raegan discovering the big secret Nico and the guys have been keeping. Fortunately for us, after her initial meltdown (which is totally understandable and acceptable) she takes the time to hear them out and eventually they rebuild the trust they lost. Both Beck and Rush are 100% invested in a relationship with Rae, while Nico continues to be a grumpy ass.

We continue with a repetition of more attacks, kidnappings, gun fights, explosions, a twist that did actually surprise me, and a cliffy that you don’t really need and you definitely won’t find believable.

“Thank you for calling American Express card holder services. We see here we contacted you regarding suspicious activity on the account ending in 0555. Please enter the last four digits of your social security number to continue. Para Español oprima dos.”

☝ ☝ Yes, that’s actually in the book.

SEX: We get a messy quickie with Guy 2 at 15%, again at 23%, and another individual bang at 59%. Guy 1 gets back in action at 76%. There is an absolutely SINFUL experience with Guys 1 & 2 at 86% and that’s the only thing that made this book worth reading. Sadly, Guy 3 STILL hasn’t had any action, aside from grinding and watching. There still hasn’t been a complete threesome that I’m satisfied with. That requires some Double P. As I said, for a reverse harem, it’s disappointing.
That’s really all I need to say about this book.

FAMILY TREE and the SIDE PIECES: I don’t know why I wasted my time, because I don’t recommend the books, but here it is anyway.
Raegan O’Rourke: 23. Thief.
Nicolai “Nico” Esposito: 26. Runs the “Gentleman”. Part of the Esposito crime family. “Rabbit”. Smells like gunpowder and cologne.
Beck Bellamy: Gentlemen. BFF to Nico & Rush. Motorcross. “Little Thief”. Smells like sandalwood.
Sebastian “Rush” Rushmore: Gentlemen. BFF to Nico & Beck. “Firecracker”. Smells like cedar and woodsmoke.

Sophie/Sophia O’Rourke: 24. Story allegedly continued in “Mad as a Hatter”, but I don’t plan on reading it.
James “Jimmy” O’Rourke: Father. Leader of Mount Summer mafia-ish gang.
Mary O’Rourke: Rae’s mother.
Marcus O’Rourke: Rae’s brother.
Brian: Head of MS security.
Patrick: MS security.
Kyle: MS security.
Connor Doyle: MS security.

Giovanna Esposito: Nico’s mother.
Riccardo Esposito: Nico’s uncle. Head of Esposito crime family.
Lorenzo Esposito: Nico’s uncle.
Dante Esposito: Nico’s brother.
Alessandro Esposito: Nico’s father.

Anthony: Gentlemen enforcer.
Rick: Gentlemen.
Enzo: Gentlemen.
Emilio: Gentlemen
Mark: Gentlemen.
Tom: Gentlemen?
Jared: Gentlemen?
Madame Cosette: Runs brothel for the Espositos’.
Missy: Prostitute.
Cherry: Prostitute.
Honey: Prostitute.
Destiny: Prostitute.
Mercedes “Sadie” Hill: Motorcross.
Lars: Realtor.

The Hatter: Leader of the Trilogy.
Carson: Trilogy.
Viktor: Trilogy.

I have a bone to pick with Kate King and Jessa Wilder…

WHAT IN THE FUCKITY FUCK WAS THE LAST 10% OF THIS BOOK 😭😭😭

I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest and I have no idea what to believe right now. The twists and turns were every where and I felt like I was constantly dodging bombs (if you know you know 🙄)

I have no words for a proper review so just know that I’m going to sit here and stare at a wall until Feb until I can get my hands on Damned Souls.

Thieves Honor is book two of three in the now completed The Gentlemen series, and just like the first, this book is an enjoyable read with hot men, a bit of mystery and great action.

It picks right up where Red Handed (book one) left off. Rae doesn’t know who to trust and who has her back, but despite that, the chemistry is hot, and there's some excellent spice.

Her relationships with all the boys are slowly progressing, especially when they're forced to go into close proximity hiding. Beck and Rush appear to be all in, but Nico is holding back. As much as I enjoy the suspense, I can’t wait to see him all in, too - the different dynamics are one of my fave things about why choose romance.

Thieves Honor continues to be heavy on plot twists and drama. Like the first, this one also has an abrupt cliffhanger which would be frustrating if I didn't know the series is now complete - although there are a lot of loose ends to tie up in the final book.

Overall I enjoyed this continuation of The Gentleman series. Some of the worldbuilding is a bit cheesy, but it really has everything I want from a mafia why choose romance.

This book was just OK. The only good thing was the twist at the end. Reagan fell flat. She was boring and her stupid decisions pissed me the hell off. I really liked the first one but again, only the ending of this book gave it 3 stars ⭐️

Wow. This series just gets better and better. The action:romance ratio is impeccable. Although there isn’t a HUGE amount of spice there is enough to keep things interesting and break up the action and suspense. I feel like this series has way more action in it than a typical romance read and I am loving every second of it.

I never know what’s coming next. Rae is such a badass à la Aelin from Throne of Glass just with more spice.
Also I definitely had an inkling about that final plot twist, but was still absolutely SHOOK.

I am absolutely devouring this series. On to the third instalment.

I give this 4.5

So the first book was above average but there was a purpose behind that, the author wanted you to get to know the characters and set the stage for the story.

Each book is better than the last! The last book is incredible.

There are a fair amount of twists and turns to keep your interest.

If you’re like me, who likes MM action, you’ll be disappointed. There is a very short MMF scene that isn’t enough to satisfy you. However, as much as I love MM, I didn’t mind that this story doesn’t have it.

I enjoyed the audiobook. If you enjoy this book then you’re going to love the next book. The final book is by far the best in this series.

Ok I'm better now! 😂 So many spoilers I want to talk about but refuse to ruin the surprise for anyone!

Absolutely loving this series. If you have yet to start it you really need to. With the events that have transpired in the first books cliffhanger (no spoilers, read the book!) the relationships progression and development between Raegan, Nico, Beck and Rush is perfection! But once you think you have it all figured out this cliffhanger will hit you hard and make you second guess everything!

Oh! Cmon! She's already fucking the guys she vowed to hate and what not! Dafuq girl???? They lied to you!! I thought she'd have more self respect. So disappointing 😫
“I know I said we were done, Rush, but I take it the hell back. I need you right now.”

They did not even apologize properly. Not enough groveling whatsoever. Dafuq is this woman so horny for!😒

3*

This is a really fun and engaging addition to The Gentlemen series. It’s fast-paced, there is constant action and drama, and the writing style hooks you. Yet again, I didn’t want to put this book down.

Overall, I really love the characters. Reagan is such fighter and I love watching her subtly take leadership roles throughout this novel. Nico is grumpy and demanding but watching him fall for our girl has been so much fun. Rush and Beck fell hard in book 1 but their continued support and persistence, as well as what they add to the entire group dynamic make this book that much more enjoyable.

Despite how much I like Reagan though, I did have some issues with her throughout this book. While her anger, hurt, and feelings of betrayal are understandable at the beginning of the novel, her reaction is fairly dramatic for the actual offense. Both Sophie and Nico were married by proxy by their parents, leaving neither of them at fault. The boys’ only sin is that they didn’t tell her; but as someone who hadn’t exactly fully switched sides at the time of the reveal, I’m not sure why she expected them to (sexy times aside). None of them (including her) are exactly forthcoming with their gang secrets. I like that Reagan calls out the slight hypocrisy of her feelings, but I think when you can acknowledge your own hypocrisy, then you should also try to take a more objective look at the situation. Reagan’s stubbornness lasts for a lot longer than strictly necessary.

With that being said, holey moly does this girl let her lust lead her around on a string. It felt a little bit unrealistic with how much she was hurt, angry, and upset. There was a lot of time spent in bed (or, ya’ know, wherever) with the enemy for her anger and hurt to last. I wish there had been a little bit less stubbornness and a lot more insight on her part and probably some additional conversation between her and the boys before things escalated too much again.

Reagan makes some really rash decisions within the book that seem to irrationally pay off more than they don’t (which perpetuates a cycle). While she’s clearly capable of kicking butt and taking names all by herself, her belief in her own immortality is mildly frustrating. Reagan basically pits herself alone against an entire mafia crew. Why? Simply because she thought she could. Because of her actions, she endangers not only herself, but the 3 men she claims to care for (or, dare I say, “love” even?).

Similar to the prior book, I think there were some inconsistencies within the plot and I’m left with a lot of questions as well, such as:

Some of these questions may get answered in book 3, but some of them feel too odd, coincidental/convenient, or any seeming explanations unplausible.

“My wife is staring at me.”

Holy balls. I am not okay after what I just read. In book two of The Gentlemen we pick up where we left off with that cliffhanger from Red-Handed. Raegan’s trust in Nico, Beck and Rush is broken after finding out Nico is married to her sister, Sophia.

“You do realize that you are the only person on earth who does this?” “Does what?” “Says ‘no’ to me.”

There were so many surprises that I was not expecting in this book. Reagan is truly a badass heroine that shows the guys time and time again that she is trained to do the same things they can.

The guy understand that they have to work overtime to try to get back into Rae’s good graces after betraying her trust.

“You’re a liability.” “What Nico is trying to say is we don’t want anyone knowing you mean something to him.”

Do not and I mean do not even get me started on that cliffhanger of an ending for book two because I am PISSED. I truly was not seeing the tables turn like they did. Definitely a must read. Can’t wait to purchase the paperback to add to my bookshelf.

OMG..this story is quite simply amazing! I have been patiently waiting for book two in the Gentlemens series and it did not disappoint at all!! God I just love these guys....Nico, Rush and Beck are perfection, I just loved how their affections have grown for Rae and you really see that in this part of the story.

I honestly don't know how Kate and Jessa pack so much into the story, you literally get everything you could want from a book, there is action, romance, suspense, betrayals, lies and its so thrilling I didn't want it to end! Every other page something was happening that had me on the edge of my seat.

Kate and Jessa have really outdone themselves, this story is written so well, it's genius.....although that cliff hanger did have me cursing out a few choice words for the authors!! Lol....i can't believe I have to wait for book three to find out what happens next...it just can't be true!?

Highly recommend, this is a dark mafia, action packed RH romance with all the right feels....you won't be disappointed!!

I received an ARC from the authors and this is my honest review.

I had a feeling that Nico’s mom was in on it because of the whole rabbit thing. She was one of the few people who knew that nickname. I also thought one of the dead brothers was really alive. I was guessing Marcus but it was Dante. I cannot believe Rush shot Rae trying to kill Nico. But was Nico in on it? Because Rush gave him a bullet proof vest to wear. Or was Rush acting alone. Obviously he isn’t really a traitor but I have so many questions. And why is Dante so obsessed with Rae and not Sophie?

Rounding up to 5 stars

The thing with trilogies is that the second book is usually where everything is being set up for the last book. A lot of things happen, but at the same time nothing really happens.

This book was good, incredible even, but I still felt like it lacked something. I gave it some leeway because I knew we were being set up for the final book.

BUT THEN THE LAST TWO PAGES HAPPENED and I can’t figure out wtf happened and where things went wrong and I neeeeed the next book immediately.

So we pick up after a bomb shell and I'm fuming with Regan.

The boys are liars. They destroyed her with one secret they ALL kept. Nico is the worst of them. He actually apologized before it came out and didn't give her a heads up!

The primal scene is just chefs fucking kiss.. there is some m/m and I AM FUCKING HERE FOR IT

The amount of twists in this book were crazy. The last 3 chapters has me fucking SHOOKTH!

I am SOOOOO FUCKING happy some people got their come upings.

Book 3 is going to be insane.

This series keeps getting better and better!

Secrets are revealed as more questions arise and it'll leave you wanting more! Not to mention the heat burning through the pages as Rae and her men grow closer both physically and emotionally. But that ending... you won't see it coming! I'm so anxious to see what happens next!

The action was exciting and the suspense will keep you on your toes. If you haven't started this series yet, you're definitely missing out!

Actual - 4.5

Honestly, this is gearing up to be such an awesome series. The action, the betrayals, the tension - it’s all so addicting. On top of that you have such distinct personalities with each of the characters it’s not boring or confusing.

If you like mafia style reverse harems with slow burn within the full harem, a badass heroine, and swoon worthy guys, this series is a must read!
